The teachers are extremely nice, welcoming, and always ready to help. There are a range of electives provided for year 9s and 10s, to help the students explore all paths. The year 7's have the easiest transition from primary to secondary, making their futures years at this school worthwhile. William Ruthven Secondary also provides opportunities for students outside of school, whether it is community help or exploring universities such as La Trobe.
I cannot believe all the other reviews of this school before I enrolled my son here. With broken communication on the first day of school, the receptionist told my son not to talk to me on the phone. She shouldn't be in this job, as she is not helpful but rather unkind to new students. Who recruited her? even the time to cooperate to following up with enrollment. The most image will be discrediting by this person in the long run.
This schools ok however as always, students wellbeing are so overlooked at this school x i had one good humanities teacher who looked after me and am grateful. But reputation means most to this school Chances of your child feeling like an outsider and possibilities of them being picked on are 99.9%. Teenagers are horrible these days and yall old people dk how to handle it truth be told
So far the school is ok. Big dramas picking up the kids after school. The school side of the street is a no parking zone (signs are in place) and cars park there from the primary school to the high school. Congested streets and a bunch of near misses really unsafe and annoying. No one outside to manager this issue....
If your child has learning or behaviour difficulties and you are unlucky enough to be zoned to this school, I recommend recording all communication with staff. Be your child’s advocate because they DO NOT have your child best interests at heart. They do push out kids who don’t fit the perfect box.
This is an amazing school. It is highly supportive if its students and the claims of being forced to wear a blazer are false. It also has a optional club anyone can join called prism which Is dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ through fundraisers and other ways. Highly recommend.
I only went to this school for year 7 but i moved somewhere else when the year ended, it was okay when i was there but looking at the reviews it must've gotten way worse over the years.
my friend goes to this school and she absolutely hates it, students there are very immature and needs to be educated. please do better. xoxo
senior teachers were good at their jobs.Mrs Mena was one of the best teachers
