My local 'Woolies' have always provided great products, value, and service.  I enjoy doing "the shop" on a Sunday afternoon when it's an easy, 'low stress' experience, probably due to the lower number of people, or maybe that they are there at the same time for the same experience, hence the casual ambience.I have shopped at the same 'Woolies' for over 15 years and seen many changes. The staff are (apart from, what I can only hope is an isolated event which occurred on the 30th January, 2021 @ between 18:50 to 19:01**) always happy to help, greet you with a smile, and are very courteous.  So when I provide a 5 Star rating, it is done in a balanced fashion that looks at the greater positive experiences that I have had and not an isolated event that would unfairly tarnish the overall great people who make 'my' woolies the best in Sydney (if not, the whole of Aus!).  The fresh food, especially their range of meats, from poultry (you can get duck, quail, poussin), full uncut eye fillets, ribs (pork\beef), great cut's of Lamb at prices that suit all budgets, and they always have great specials throughout the store.  Cheese selection is great, and seems, as with the meats, to target the demographic of the shoppers, which in Lane Cove is diverse... So you can get your Rockford, Chev, to a cheddar or triple cream brie that won't require a second mortgage. **& if you were there at the same time near the express checkouts, you would certainly know what I am referring to.. however this is not the forum for isolated complaints and I will be following the correct avenue to address this...  This behaviour from the staff in question was completely abhorrent and reflects badly on Woolworths, however I am confident that these individuals were not representing the true values of the greater (good) staff and Woolworths which has always been outstanding.  Feel free to contact me in reference.

Why does the butcher section close so early - weekdays I go to buy fresh chicken, closed at 5pm, Saturday arfternoon - closed at 5:50 pm. Doesn’t Woolworths know this is when busy people go to buy dinner? Herb section - a joke! Curley parsley usually available (not an in demand item) but basil or coriander…let alone sage, chilli, or something exotic like tarragon - once a week if you’re lucky. Then chicken necks for the dog…they usually have a day or two until expiry. Last week I went for salmon from deli…there were 10 neatly arranged salmon heads, and upon inquiry was told I had to use the pre packaged plastic ones at double the price. The whole store used to be exciting, now it’s run completely for the convenience of the staff. Aisles blocked by shelf stackers, specialty sections closed to save wages or get an early mark, stock out so woolies don’t hold items close to use-by dates. Can’t help but think this is lazy management, or has woolies thrown in the towel against Harris Farm? Get your act together please - rapidly becoming worst of the big 4.

I went to Woolworths today to do a shop. Unknowingly my tag for the trolley had fallen off. I went to purchase another tag from the counter and they where all sold out. I asked what can I do, being pregnant and already carrying items I wasn’t able to do my shopping with a basket. They said you can withdraw a dollar although I didn’t have a physical card. He then pointed to a worker, middle aged women with glasses putting baskets away and said she will be able to get one for you. I walked up and explained the situation how they had no more tags and I couldn’t withdraw a dollar because I had no card. She said I don’t have one of those things to get a trolley out. Even though I saw the metal tag around her neck to get the trolleys out. She then walked away, didn’t offer me any help or a solution. Very disappointing because I drive there to go and spend hundreds on a shop and two employees where not helpful to a pregnant women just trying to do her shopping. 1 star for service.

Hello, I had been in lane Cove store this morning around 9:10. My 3years old boy grabbed a green apple from kids free shelf and had a bite. While I was checking out at self-checkout, he gave the apple to me and told me he couldn’t finish that so I put it on the checkout table. Then the duty male staff with glasses came to me and ask: are you taking this apple? I replied Yes. He said you can’t take this apple, you should finish in the store! He was very rude and looked fierce. I felt so offended and embarrassed. Is there any policy that kids must finish their free fruit in store? If the kids can’t finish the apple, is it ok for parents to take it or just put in the bin straightly? If I break your policy can the staff treat me so rudely? When I left, he also glared me viciously. I still couldn’t believe what I had been thought. I like shopping grocery at your store much more than other stores. However what happened this mornig was a shame on you

2.3 - I never thought I would dislike a Woolies until I got to this one! Thought I would pop in and do a weekly shop - Salmon Trim is missing, and the Seafood range was limited. I found some fruit to buy but there was barely anything there. Also, the store is soo cold because they have fridges and freezers all along! There were only large trolleys available and none of the higher half trolleys but it didn't matter in the end cos I found out they were all coin-locked! I used the basket (so I was ready for a lighter shop) and then I decided not to waste my time anymore as there were no other fruit and veg shops around. Terrible. I also scraped the bottom of my car as I was driving out of the centre due to the very low kerb I couldn't see!

5 stars for butcher Richard who was very helpful, willing to teach me about different cuts, how to de bone a leg of lamb and tie it for a roast - in the end he was more than happy to debone it for me but I loved learning all about it. He also helped me decide what to do for my 14 guest dinner party. Richard said he works at the Gordon Woolworths usually which unfortunately doesn’t have a big range of cuts. This really saddens me as I’d be willing to travel there for him, such a waste of talent. IMO Richard should have a full butcher’s range and a matching pay check!

When in Sydney I always shop here. The staff are super helpful. For example; my 90 year old mother wanted Lady Finger Bananas. Woolies was out of them, but the kind staff member asked if I could come back in half an hour, he'd have time to check the latest delivery and told me exactly where he'd leave them for me to find upon my return. He was true to his word! Another staff member, walked me through the aisles when I couldn't find a product. He made sure I did. So 10 points for customer service. Always a great supermarket to find pretty much all you need.

  • Neil Day

If you want friendly service then Woolies is the place in Lane Cove. Their opposition ( the red one) is anything but friendly. I have had goods on the belt and been told I am closing go to another check out. I have never been back in over three years. A friend had the same experience a month ago so things have not changed. At school pick up time - one or two check outs are operating with people with full trolleys waiting - to use the self serve would take an hour. This has never happened at woolies and I always gat a smile and a friendly word.

  • Grant Sansom-Sherwill

Convenient location and staff are generally friendly and helpful. However, of late the store has been removing certain brands, making it harder to find something suitable. Interestingly, it has been the healthier stuff that has been withdrawn. For example, every low-sugar muesli I find gets withdrawn within weeks of moving to it. Am up to about 5 different brands in as many months! Heaven only knows the logic that goes into their choice of what to stock and what not, as it doesn't make much sense.

  • Pawel Sobucki

Used to be my local Woolie. I know the layout of all aisles and usually can find all the stuff I need with ease. And usually I am able to find good quality products in a clean store. One annoying thing is no mobile network coverage in most of the store. Free WiFi helps though. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Trolleys are locked and you need a coin/token to use them. Not sure why you need that in this specific location where it is not seen in any other stores I've been to.

  • Ken Loui (Zippy7)

For some unknown reason, they are moving everything around the store. This is really annoying because there are a lot of empty shelves and empty spaces. This means reduced product lines, reduced availability. But because we don't know where anything is, it doesn't matter. They also closed the butcher. That guy was great, also good for some suggestions or tips. I need to go around the corner to Harris Farm for meat. Might as well shop at Aldi and Coles now there is no butcher.

  • Davy T

Two of the LAZIEST check out staff at night, Were the only ones there, they sees us with a trolley full of groceries and makes us go through self service check out and treats us like thieves and stands right next to us. If you're so worried why don't you just do your job and serve us at the check out? Awful service! Why would you need to put a coin for your trolley in Lane cove? I'm sure people in the area are law abiding citizens and won't roll away with the trolley....

  • Baha Gerecci

Lagging well behind nearby Coles. Machines are complete annoyance stop you from checking in items for stupid miscalculations happened a few times. Very frustrating needing to wait for assistance with mask on. Also no network coverage making it extremely hard to communicate whilst shopping like calling home for guidance in shopping. Coles are much better in both aspects. This store needs complete renovation and should come to modernity.

  • Will

This is a pretty good place to get your groceries with lots of varieties and a maze of places to get them from. With a whole lot of extra places like bakeries, sushi and a butcher there are a lot of places to get different foods from. With decent customer service it makes it an enjoyable place to get your groceries. It's also quite busy most of the time which is a but of a downside. Overall, it's a nice place to get your groceries.

  • Clare Calvet

In the last few days -whilst shopping in your store- I wish to praise Joanne and Arnell - whom are making sure the trolleys and baskets are sanitized - all with a smile and a few kind words. Great customer service. Kudos to the rest of the staff - especially to the lovely manager wearing a hijab and to Liz —-nothing is ever a problem - always courteous and well - mannered. Love shopping at Woolworths Clare

  • Neila

Woolworths is like ten times nicer than Coles. It's so clean and modern. The store layout is so good. The cheese section is en pointe. And the stock is always nicely packed. Staff seem approachable. Whoever does the produce is an artist. Love the new layout very well thoughtout and seems spacious when you walk in. The guy doing the meat was very nice even though he wrapped everything up already. Sorry!!!

  • Pamela Baird

This store lacks variety. Woolworths Lane Cove is full of its own branded goods and lacks a selecton of independent supplier's products. Don't know if it's Woolworth's aim in the future to cut out more but I can't wait for Coles and Aldi to open up in their new location. It is true about fresh food - that selection is good but in comparison to stores like Bowral Lane Cove leaves a lot to be desired.

  • Gabriella Green

Weird thing happened today. The checkout employee called Christian kept placing the shopping bags in the space furthest from me, everytime I tried to move myself and the trolley to the closest side. This happened about 5 times, which seems more than coincidence and it was really annoying! It wasn't even that busy and he seemed to take his time so maybe he found it entertaining. Good for him.

  • Andrew Young

Was better before the renovation. Still good products and always good discounts on close to date food, however : 1/ new mini LCD price tags very hard to read 2/ the butcher leaving means you can not source non pre packaged meat here - good luck getting a whole shoulder, brisket, roast, etc 3/ it’s very focused on pre packages ready to go, and not people wanting to just “cook”

  • Ben McCarthy

About to get stocked up with soft drinks at Lane Cove Woollies and realise I don’t have a trolley token . Go to the desk and the very nice overworked employee says they will sell Me one for 50 cents. I am off to Coles. Employee says it is a council requirement but Coles and Harris Farm which are within 100m do not require it. On a no cash world Woollies need to rethink this.

  • Alexandra

Really awkward Woolworths in regards to shape and product placement.. generally have everything you want, however, time your visits for grocery shopping carefully as the car park is a NIGHTMARE around school times, rainy days and weekends. Edit: Dropped a few stars because some of the staff are incredibly rude and have a really bad attitude when dealing with customers.

  • Chris Sal

The parking way going to the shop is too narrow and if you are not careful you can get a scratch or bump. Anyways the store is big similar to other woolworths shops it has a complete selection including cd movies. The food is fresh. There are items or food on sale or cheaper deals like any other shops. Please see some pictures below for your viewing.

  • James Rickards

What a chaotic mess, customers now struggle to find their usual products around staff moving sections ,amongst home deliveries being picked by other staff. Never seen so many items just put down anywhere by people who gave up trying . We wear change but is this to improve customer experience or disguise things. Eg. Notice Weetbix up 20% from $5 to $6

  • Chandramouli Sonti

Woolies is in general a great brand. This one at Lane Cove is no different. Fruits and veggies are always fresh for long. Ample stock of variety of items and competitive pricing offers per week makes shopping affordable and reasonable. Seldom something's out of stock but that's because receive wants to buy at Woolies.

  • Olivia Farag

I much prefer this store over Coles BUT please train your new checkout staff better. She doesn't need to angrily shove things in my bag with no eye contact or basic polite communication. Up until now everyone in the store has been very pleasant and very helpful (unlike Coles which is run by disinterested staff).

  • Chiara Paolini

The best part of the supermarket is their online delivery, always on time, always the best products as if it was me picking them from the shelves. Saves me huge amounts of time not going to the supermarket and their webpage is really straightforward. I would recommend anyone who has not tried it yet to do so!

  • justin ball

After you have spent 3 years 2 weeks and a day traversing the obstacle course maze to get there then it’s not a bad Woolworths. The place is clean and (most of) the staff seem happy and awake. Variety and prices are good also. Best part - no staff member at the entrance hassling patrons to sign in.

  • Grace L

Great place to shop after their recent renovation. Lighting is warm and ample, wide aisles make for comfortable shopping with a trolley. There is always friendly staff around who are happy to help. Aisles and shelves are always kept clean and tidy, and it's one of my favourite Woolworths to be at.

  • Jason Notary

Lane Cove Woolworths, like most, is Self Serve. If you have a large trolley near closing time there likely will not be a register open. Food wise their food is fresh and nice with a good selection. If your looking for Tayto chips, look in the International food section, not the chip section!

  • Chris Jackson

Went on Sunday afternoon. Not too busy. Not many specials. Fruit and veg very expensive. They must be feeling the effect of the new Harris Farm up the road. I have been getting most of my fruit and veg there lately. Woolies still have a very good range of frozen stuff at reasonable prices.

  • Shoonyananda Saraswati

Woolies always has my favourite veggies and fruits. Regardless of floods effecting farmers and growers, I can buy healthy veg for salads, soups, roasts and bbqs. They're excellent with customer service, supporting me during chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Always kind customer service.

  • fraser Phillips

We telephoned the Lane Cove store with two questions and received great customer service and resolution to our question by a member of staff name Kanchan. She is a great asset to your store. My wife and I are both in our sevenths and appreciate the this kind of response and service.

  • lrts

Very neat and tidy store. Nice layout, lovely staff. It's the 2nd time I've been, 1st was with a friend when she needed rolls and olives, this time I was returning to her place for dinner, so stopped in for a dessert to take. Happy to shop here. Wish more stores were like this one.

  • Samson Davyd

Quick place to shop with convenient parking and entrance. If you use Optus, you won't have any network signal once you enter the shop or parking. The staffs were helpful and friendly. Usually place an online order and pick it up to avoid hassle and shopping during covid times.

  • Elise Spalding

Great Woolies, large selection of items, great Asian food section. The frozen foods are on the other end of the store which is a little odd, and there is near zero reception with Optus. Tap and Pay through my phone feels like a gamble with only 1 bar of reception.

  • Jason M

Nice big Woolworths. Have so much more stock now than ever before. Always very nice friendly staff on checkouts. Staff putting stock away very polite. Not blocking aisles, as was common for years at many Woolies. Plenty of Checkouts. A pleasure to shop there.

  • Elysia

love woolies, can't go wrong and never leave empty handed. great specials!! staff are usually okay but some follow you around thinking you're stealing :/ they really do the most and not in a good way tbh but anyways the fruit and veg are usually fresh

  • Amin Kiapour

Big Woolworth and very friendly and helpful staff. You can find lots of discounted items there. There is parking underneath and you can enjoy the Lane Cove Canopy plaza, shopping, food and other entertainment there ️ …

  • Daniel Lister

Don't have many expectations for a supermarket. It's clean. We'll stocked. Though the amount of times I've waited unnoticed to top up my Opal for many minites, or staff have walked past as if I'm not there means a three star is as good as I can give.

  • TPOO173 Newbery

It was a great store and so well laid out, and I loved the amount of self serve checkouts they had. Very friendly staff that helped me a few times to find stuff and assist at the checkout. I will definitely go back there next time I am in Lane Cove

  • Tim Posney

Limited range compared to other Woolworths. Butcher section does not seem to have enough turnover, premium cuts often look dried out and discoloured. Parking can often be a problem and there are few other grocery shops around to fill in the gaps.

  • dori dori

Was good but has been below average since the renovations. No more butcher and very poor selection of meats, fruits and vegetables. Layout is a also a lot more inconvenient now with stuff scattered everywhere. I shop at coles and Harris farm now.

  • Michael Kwong

Just ok. As in general, majority of woolie I visit, probably the color (Green), lighting and squeeze area (hardly achieve 1.5m social distancing), I feel that I can't shop comfortablely in the shop compare to the other two major suermarket.

  • Matt Knappick

The layout is terrible and the fact you gotta use a coin to get a trolley is annoying. But after living north side your years now I understand that the creatures that inhabit the place are too self entitled to walk a trolley back to the bay

  • Shea Hinde

My local Woolies, always great service, excellent fresh food and meat section. I just hate how busy it gets - constantly dodging shopping trollies - so now I order online. Orders are always accurate and they often throw in a bonus …

  • Maggie Zhang

They ran out of disney cards last week and told us to collect next week. But this week we were told the event ended, no more cards. A waste of money bought the collector album. They should remove the poster if the event has ended.

  • Jeniveve Kruger

Not happy that every time I get to this store there are no ceasar salads and not a nice range of salmon. Have never been to this store where I have found everything I needed so I usually have to pop down to the Coles next door.

  • T M

Rebuked, and suspected of stealing because I entered and tried leaving through the same main entrance (I.e. the intuitive thing to do). In an age of barcodes and scanners, I really don't appreciate being accused of stealing.

  • Rahul Ramaswamy

Update: looks a lot better and cleaner in recent months. Huge variety of products, some of which are uniquely available at this Woolies. There's even a guest wifi that helps with the poor mobile phone reception inside.

  • Charlie

Terrible. Went to woolworths who now charge to use trolleys. There were multiple elderly people looking for a trolley and no one around to assist. Trolleys should be free to use. Not everyone carries coins these days.

  • Stephanie Farac

Great customer service from a staff member, Nikita! Nikita went out of her way to contact me, after losing my wallet in store. I appreciate this so much as if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have known it was missing.

  • K D

Never had a bad experience here. Consistently clean, good music and good vibes in general. Free parking, great selections, great rewards for loyal customers, helpful staff...there's legit nothing to complain about.

  • mikey bruh

No hygiene. A staff member with long and curly oily hairs named 'Andrew' scratched his head and then started filling fruits this morning. Cleanliness and hygiene should be maintained specially during these times.

  • Yifan L

Overall store impression is good, has everything you need and not too hard to locate. Only issue was in some areas mobility isn't the best especially with a trolley or pram as it becomes quite tight to navigate.

  • A T Bekri

There's ample 3 hour parking, the store is huge and has all the varieties. It is usually very clean. My only complaint is the amount of time I've had to wait for my online order pickup, even at off-peak hours.

  • annieK

My old supermarket, I know where everything is here. I've moved from the area but still work in Lane Cove so visit the old Woolies occasionally. Medium-sized store with easy parking, bakery, deli and butcher.

  • kai stevenson

I felt unsafe and discriminated against while in the store because of the way I looked. A man told me to get out of the store not giving me time to buy what I wanted. Very unpleasant shopping experience

  • J Whitelock

Good grocery store through they just changed the self checkout to require you bag items again. This makes checkout especially with a trolley alot slower, so may change my mind on which store to go to.

  • Tim Posney

For a Woolworths the stock is quite limited compared to crows nest. Decent parking provided you don't arrive when the school mums are out in force. Still has the silly coin required for a trolley

  • Ryder Thomas

This place is so horrid, no room for privacy cameras everywhere even on the checkout machines. I know keeping the shop safe is priority but come on i dont want to be filmed everywhere i go

  • Cooper F

Great new look after renovations with double the self-service checkouts. Downside is that because it is underground there is no phone reception to check/add money to card for payment

  • JJ L

This Woolies gets busy and as a result is often quite hectic and messy. The opal card Topup facility is frequently out of order and there is no phone reception in the car park

  • Veer Sanghavi

Pretty big and good fresh produce. Ample of parking and I personally always check out the specials b fore going in. The checkout are pretty fast and the staff very efficient.

  • Lee A

Very convenient. Why do they get you to pay for the trolleys? Who in Lane Cove is going to steel a trolley? People here are civic minded enough to return trolleys to the bays

  • Sanjay B

Mobile reception exists now, unlike before; gets an extra star. Layout has been changed in areas along the store perimeter walls. Also expanded self checkout; minus a star.

  • Irving Warren

I go to Woolworths Lane Cove only when there is no loud 'pop' music playing. On occasions it is impossible to hold a conversation. Otherwise it is a good supermarket.

  • Fern Moore

Disgusting, how can they truly serve up stale bread, brown dead beans. the supermarket is riddled with moths. so dirty, my shoes where glued to the floor. Horrible.

  • Craig Waterworth

Woolworths lane cove is useless .have been many times now .they never have what they advertise .I now go to Coles and will never waste my time at Woolworths again

  • Aaron Wood

It is a medium sized woolworths with plenty of fresh vegatbles. They always have the kids free fruit baskets out. The staff are kind and the lines move quickly.

  • Oliver Brighton

Great range of products and well laid out with easy access to the car park. No mobile signal in store which is a bit inconvenient for those last minute items.

  • squid24

One of the busiest woolies. Some staff are super nice and helpful but you also have the ones that are very curt. A well stocked up grocery shop otherwise.

  • Jewel Hancock

Great store. Could be organized better in terms of floor plan as the whole store feels crammed. Love the products and the staff are always so helpful.

  • Chris Kirk

Quick and easy, in and out in 20 minutes, from parking to driving away. Just don't try that at school drop off and pick up times. Otherwise all good.

  • Yuki

Often there's the odd mouldy or 'not so fresh people' veggies or fruit but very grateful that there is decent stock of everything at the moment.

  • James C

clean and tidy Woolworths just like the other Woolworths stores. Large enough , free 3 hr parking underground !

  • John Williams

Well stocked store in Lane Cove, you have to get in early to ensure you get your hands on Woolies fresh bread

  • Anjana anju

Wide variety of options. Have a dedicated aisle for Indian food that was very helpful for people in Lanecove

  • Loiis Llane

Brilliant variety & lovely store. I always go in my work clothes & they don't treat me any different

  • Dory John

The second worst Woolworths following Crows Nest in Sydney. Rubbish quality, no checkouts available.

  • Ernie Shepherd

Very small, and layout is awful. You Need a Coin to use the trolley, no one carries coins anymore

  • Hugh Griffiths

They have a wide variety of products and the checkout is so convenient. Would recommend.

  • Gerard Aranha

Not the biggest woolies around. The most annoying issue is they have locked trolleys.

  • Henry Werner

Good parking Click and collect can be mixed depending on who is packing the items.

  • Andrew Clements

Has everything except phone signals! Good parking and access. Very convenient.

  • Graham Broadbridge

Slightly different layout, but still complete in variety products

  • T_Louis Akbasli

Free parking, easy access, has food court and other amenities..

  • david champion

Most of the time good organic produce.I would love to see more.

  • Dianne Nickson

Easy place to do the shopping with close convenient parking.

  • George Biro

Very average sometimes stock is full other times no stock

  • Nic Mesker

Layout is a bit confusing, but otherwise it's fine

  • Issac Osis

closes way too early, meant to be open until 10pm

  • Quintin

Good shopping and parking is best on level 3

  • jj mm

Very convenient place to and enjoy …

  • Georgette Ritchie

Great specials. Check it online first

  • ND R

A big village like shopping centre,

  • Nadia Fedorenko

Nice large store. Lots of stock.

  • Tayyab zian Chaudhary

Extra waiting but still okay

  • Sarah Taylor

Nice variety, clean store

  • Khaled Al anazi

I love the food court up
