World Square is an open-concept shopping mall packed with eateries and a small number of shops. You wouldn't head here for the experience, per se, but it's a great place to have on your radar. Pretty much no matter what you need after a big day in the city, you can find it here. Authentic Chinese food without the hustle of Chinatown? Boom. Quick burritos? Yup. ☕ Need coffee? Gotcha covered. Chocolate craving? Here you go. And I think even a post office. And an electronics shop and supermarket. It's a great place to know about, because it's never as busy as the rest of the city. Free Wi-Fi Located on the ground floor, behind the stairs in front of you if your back is to George St. Check out 'The Challenge', the large bull sculpture at the Pitt St entrance!
World Square is a bustling hub of shopping, dining, and entertainment right in the heart of the city. With its array of stores and eateries, it caters to a diverse range of preferences. The venue is well-maintained and the layout allows for easy navigation. However, during peak times, it can get a tad crowded, which might be a slight inconvenience for some. Overall, World Square offers a comprehensive urban experience, though with room for minor enhancements to elevate the visitor experience even further.
Shop shop! Lots of shopping ,It fills an entire Sydney city block, bounded by George, Liverpool, Pitt and Goulburn Streets, on what was a small hill called Brickfield Hill. World Square features a shopping centre, hotels, office buildings and residential apartment towers. Liverpool Lane, off Liverpool Street, is part of World Square and features restaurants, cafes and take away shops. It is also the home of Southern Cross Austereo's Sydney radio stations Triple M and 2Day FM
Loved World Square! Just about every restaurant imaginable is available. We were staying at the Rydges Hotel. Incredible location. Found a Cole department store downstairs which really decreases our costs since every product - bottle water costs over a weeks time save a great deal of money especially with a large party. Paper plates, forks spoons everything you need to decrease your costs during a week long visit.
Axiis 680 George street World Square is by far one of the best buildings to work in. Simply amazing the facilities are perfect which are accompanied by delightful people like Howeada and Anna. These two employees have stand out the best customer service it is very nice to start the day with their greeting in the morning and thoughout the day. Thank you Howeada & Anna for all you do. Nicole
Update: Bathrooms are horrendous!! Came here 11am and all female toilets were in terrible state, NO soap available and hand dryers not working. Not sure if you are aware that we've just made it through a pandemic not long ago? Everything you could need is here :) Coles, Cafés, G&G, Typo, Telstra, JB Hifi. Conveniently located near townhall and museum station. Structure a bit confusing.
There is so much in this building. A good choice of places to eat, a wonderful hotel. The car park for this building is the largest underground car park I have even seen. There are so many levels, and it is also extremely wide. It really does cater for all the businesses in the building. I appreciate the ramps in the car park are wide enough for even the largest to navigate easily
Rating: 8/10 Short Review: Good food, cool art, kind of quiet. Long review: The square has a bunch of stores, and cafe’s all working together to make a wonderful place for a day. The square brings in some really cool sculptures, along with it being reasonably quiet. The only issue would be the bathrooms, which need cleaning more along with them being hard to find. Overall: Good.
World Square is beautifully located in CBD. Right next to the light rail line with easy access. The mall awesomely decorated with giant sculpture design or feature design. Must say my favourite thing is that it has tons of coffee shops there, super busy and they do good cuppa too. Parking could be a problem as not much off street parking around, mostly loading zone.

We stopped by just to look around since we were in the area. The square has a series of restaurants and shops lining the edges of the square. We did look around at the restaurants around including up the stairs but didn't go anywhere since we had just had lunch. It was an interesting stop particularly with the interesting sculpture around the central area.
Reasonable parking, lots of shopping to do as well. Eating: they have groceries, snacks, dumpling store, mexican, few cafes. Shopping: Anything to keep you covered head to toe. But price might be medium to high. No budget stuffs. A very nice spot to bring your significant other as the night lights are captivating.
World Square is a convenient shopping area, located a short walk away from Town Hall Train Station. It comprises of a variety of dining options, clothing stores, dollar store, electronics store, asian grocery store, Coles supermarket and liquor store. It is often busy due to its convenient location in the CBD.
Nothing to get overly excited about here. A few pretty lights and displays tart up a rather unremarkable shopping experience. Centre includes Coles and JB Hi-Fi, as well as all the telco carriers located next to each other in the corridor accessible from the corner of George & Goulburn Streets.
Very complicated area. It seems to be a number of buildings interconnected with arcades, escalators and elevators. We were in the hotel which is in one building, but as we explored we found small cafes and kiosks tucked away on the different levels. It's an outing just to explore all the places
Best Mall in the City. It has everything, JB HiFi, Coles, Blush Cosmetics, Priceline. Oh Boy especially this little shop Blush Cosmetics, next to priceline, we spend a lot of money there, they have these Japan and Korean Cosmetics and Skincare which I dont see else where. I love them!
It’s a burst of up shopping district. A great place to enjoy. Love the Chinese Zodiac Statutes celebrating my year of the celestial favourite Rat of the Heavenly YuHuangDaDi. Surprisingly this year, the theme miraculously brought along the Mythical Dragon along its glory. Love it
Great location in the heart of the city lots of restaurants reasonable price and mostly Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Americans and designers shops, supermarkets, and close to Event Cinemas, Medical Centres, QVB and beautiful cathedral located at Hyde Park. Highly recommended …
It's more than just a regular street, or a street with shops all along. It is lively enough to host numerous artistic, musical, protest, and cultural events. It is home to high-end retailers as well as huge tech giants like Apple and Microsoft. I'll keep loving it forever .
The centre of busy shopping centre and business area. If you love fashion shopping and love multicultural food shop. I do recommend this places. International food, international shop and good facilities. It is very closed to thai town, china town and train station.
World square shops is a great place for convenience. The Coles is good for basic things, and there some great eateries. There are some shops here too, which again is great for convenience. I wouldn't shop here for clothes etc, just for basic necessities.
Pretty interesting place, has plenty restaurants in and around in the surrounding streets, also has a pretty good bargain booze place in Liquorland (see pic) and a decent supermarket in Coles. The meal pics came from Masala Kitchen an Indian restaurant.
A great shopping and dining experience with a good atmosphere and beautiful layout in the heart of the city. Semi-regular events through the Chinese lunar New Year + other major yearly events and free wifi make this a convenient and good place to shop.
Great variety of shops and restaurants available. Access from all sides of the block. Parking is typical city prices about $15 an hour. There really isn't anything social here to make you come out of your way but nice to visit if your in the area.
A ragtag mix of shops, supermarkets, cafes and high rise offices in the middle of Sydney's Haymarket precinct. The layout is a little confusing but this also makes it interesting. It's a pity World Square shops shutdown so early in the evening!
Ippudo ramen - we were surprised when they asked how we wanted our noodles cooked: soft, medium or hard. The delicious broth was full- bodied with a bit of chilli but not too much. The best part was it left no oily aftertaste in our mouths.
World Square is an entire City within this one building, and is right in the heart of Sydney CBD. Whether you're in town for one night or 7 nights, you will find all your needs in World Square with more of an Asian influence being so close
The two shops I frequent here are Coles & JB HiFi. Nice little shopping mall that’s easy to get around and well decorated. It’s great if you’re nearby but I don’t generally choose to come here, which is why it’s missing that 5th star.
Lots of places to eat at or grab a coffee. The Coles is well stocked but a bit of a nightmare as it's always packed. There are a few ATMs here, a CommBank branch, JBHIFI and also a post office. There are many entry points too.
This is a mini hub in the cbd, there is a a big supermarket and other shops in the basement and above. There are no train stations here but light rail is just outside, you can take this to get to both ends of cbd and beyond.
Great hub for dining, shopping and also essentials. Stayed nearby and came to World Square most days because of all the different stores & take-away options. Very clean and there are also clean public toilet facilities.
I enjoyed walking around and looking at the arty installations and like a few places in there. Especially the ramen place. Very crowded though which is typical if Sydney. I had no idea there was so many shops in there
Great space! Love the dynamic mix of indoor + outdoor shopping, and the variety of shops, restaurants, and corner stores / grocery stores. Staying nearby, and have visited 3 days in a row to explore different shops!
I usually go to World Square Shopping mall to shop at Coles or JB Hi-Fi. Sometimes I get a cup of coffee from a local Cafe. This shopping center is relatively small and that is great as it is easy to get around.
Love this place but... I need to say this, the toilets are putrid. There is mould growing in all the cracks. Given the traffic it should be cleaned several times a day but look like it's cleaned once per month.
World Square is one of my favourite places central to so many places in and around the city. Top class shopping for clothing, quality food and coffee outlets and more… spectacular design and access.
This centre is great, it has a lot of variety in terms of food and it has everything you need. The upper levels have a nice open feel, highly recommend Din Tai Fung for amazing dumplings ! …
We had a focaccia in world square for lunch plus did some food shopping for our 4 night city stay. Very busy place. Great vibe. Has everything you need from essentials to a quick bite.
Good mall in Sydney. World Square is beautifully located in CBD. Right next to the light rail line with easy access. However, there are many Chinese tourists and shops in there.
Very busy shopping center Priceline, Coles, liquorland and a new bread top shop Lots of eating outlets, jb hifi, fashion outlets Short walk, downhill from museum station
Shops are alright, however, there are flies sitting on the wall inside the female toilet. Pretty sure is a known problem, they could've done better with pest control.
It’s a very beautiful busy place! Love to visit when around town hall for a quick lunch! Looked amazing and well decorated on Chinese New Year and around Christmas.
sharing some clicks of Christmas decorations. If u visit Sydney during Christmas season you will experience the high spirit of Christmas at every single street.
Friend booked us in for her birthday weekend and WOW! What fantastic rooms! We had the corner suite on the 67th floor and the views were insane. Very impressed!
Great shopping area with some superb eateries. Well styled. Pretty cool place but does get very busy given its location. Has everything you need, with a visit!
Really nice place to have a walk and do window shopping… Most of the shops here are closed now…I hope that we will have some better options here again soon
I love World Square, it has a good mix of places to drink, eat, shop etc in the heart of the City u could spend a few hours shopping and eating it here.
For locals, it has everything you would need - from Coles to Priceline, fashion, tech, and eateries. This is the latest addition: toy vending machines.
One of my most favourite places to visit.. good variety of shops and food options... the location is very convenient... I always enjoy my time here...
Not much to shop for clothes wear. But there's plenty of place to eat. Groceries like Coles, electronics, etc. Close to paddy's market & 1m to tram.
One stop shopping place. From fashion to groceries. Located in the heart of sydney and near chinatown. Close to townhall station / central station.
For a person in a wheelchair the lifts are inadequate and too small and with a 20 minute wait time each way it was a very unpleasant experience
Modern shopping centre, but cleanliness needs to be worked on. Feel like this complex is starting to be like the Chungking Mansions of Sydney
World price is one of my favourite places if you are looking for Asian food(miso, satang Thai, Ippudo)and also have Coles and bottle ship.
I like World Square as it is conveniently located next to Hyde Park. It has most of popular stores such as JB HiFI, Pandora and Coles.
A good place with major outlets, food chains and offices. Perfect location with great connectivity via tram and nearest train station.
Good tasting food, it was busy but we didn't need to queue up. The service is very fast, just don't expect anything too fancy.
The Best place for shopping for high end clothes & accesries fast food boost Juice video games jewlery and hotels to stay at.
A good area to go shopping has access to some good shops with Coles and an Asian grocery. Several places to eat in a well.
It's lively, so many restaurants and pubs but there's not much to eat. There are no specialties and no real restaurants
Always bustling with people eating. Great selection of Japanese , Korean places to eat as well as an Asian supermarket
Definitely worth the visit. Mostly all items are available here. Although you would not find good Indian cuisine here
Had everything we need. A breadtop and a Coles. Also got my phone fixed here and had dinner one night. Will come back
Unadon(bake fish with sweet soy sauce)with rice very yummy! Pan stick noodles delicious too but a have a little burn!
Lovely and vibrant colours with beautiful smells and atmosphere, great place for a cuppa and enjoying the experience.
I’ve worked at World Square for over 14 years now. My second home. It’s fun, vibrant and full of great food spots.
Younglings love eating at restaurants here. Shops are located on ground and lower ground floors, including Coles.
Confusing layout for trying to find the shops your looking for and even just to find a mall map wasn't available.
The rooms are wide and the city view is great, the hotel is walking distance far from the CBD wich is great
The shopping centre here was pretty good! Had nice shops and restaurants and was satisfied with the place!
Modern, central CBD location. No luxury brands. Expensive parking. Hotels and food, food, glorious food.
It’s ok. Back in the day the apartments were crammed with uni students ( 1 bedroom 5 occupants style)
Good place to grab a bite to eat and do a lil shopping theres a coles and a liquor land there as well
Bavarian Bar was great for perfectly cooked German food . The pork knuckle crackle to die for. …
Great place to shop for all sort of different things. Amazing range of food places to eat …
Good selection of foods! Din Tai Fung, burger project and best of the best - Miso restaurant.
Always changing and updating; World Square is a great place for business, lunch or shopping!
Lots of shops, lots of places to eat. Din tai fung, Bavarian world square is there as well.
World Square is a first-rate urban shopping mall with quality retail and dining options.
Great location with lots of options for food and drink. Public transport is not an issue
A decent mall in Sydney. Has Coles and surrounded by many eateries that opens till late.
Great sushi and good hb hifi and a few good streetwear brands and other mid fashion
Place has a nice buzz. Lots of different options for lunch. At reasonable prices.
Lively atmosphere with a couple of good eateries . Coles is a good supermarket
We walked briefly through this mail. It seemed fine -sort of a standard mall.
Had the shops we wanted, good signage, not too busy, area was clean and tidy
I go to Coles only & find it better than Woolworths but still very expensive
Amazing little Asian restaurant cheap, Yummy food and roadrunner service.
Great hub, easy to find things and park. Parking is very affordable
Sadly the lower level was smelly from the sushi store deep fryer.
All good. So glad that Coles was open late. Had plenty of stock.
An amazing place. Full if life. The atmosphere is electrifying
