Doctor Kazi is not a nice person at all in my opinion. He refused to give me a referral for an iron infusion that I wanted to get from a different place who could do it a week quicker than Wynnum Medical Centre. He said this was because I had only seen him a couple of times, but why on earth would that matter at all? I've only lived in Brisbane a year and I have only needed to go to the doctor twice in that time. Dr Kazi literally prescribed me an iron infusion, so why shouldn't he write a referral if I can get the infusion quicker somewhere else? Especially since I had originally booked in at Wynnum Medical Centre for the iron infusion but they wanted to reschedule two days before I was supposed to have my infusion. It makes zero sense to me. Honestly, what doctor in their right mind denies a sick person an iron infusion? The pathologist, however, is absolute the nicest person on the planet. I loved her so much and I highly recommend her if you need a blood test! She is an angel. EDITED TO UPDATE: So I took my Iron prescription into Chemist Warehouse, and the man was stunned because it was going to cost me $700. He said Dr Kazi had said listed me as a private patient when I am on Medicare. The pharmacist was able to half the amount of Iron I bought so it cost me around $300 in the end. The pharmacist said it should only cost $30 as I am on Medicare and I should see another GP and not buy the Iron today. However I wanted my infusion today so I paid the money. This is why Dr Kazi refused to give me a referral--because he knew it would cost me $700 to pick up my prescription and everyone would be confused as to why it cost that much. I heard the people at Chemist Warehouse on the phone to Wynnum Medical Centre, no doubt trying to work out what the heck they think they are doing. P.S. Dr Kazi seemed to give me tests I did not need, like a coeliac blood test (I repeatedly told him I am coeliac and don't eat gluten but he put that test in with my other blood tests anyway), and a stool test I apparently needed before getting an iron infusion (they didn't ask for the results of a stool test today when I got my infusion at all). I don't know what the heck is going on at Wynnum Medical Centre but I feel deeply uncomfortable with everything that has transpired. EDITED AGAIN: This is a response to the reply written below. Reception DID NOT advise anything of the sort. Reception straight out told me: "You cannot get the iron infusion elsewhere." When I pushed back on this as ridiculous, they backtracked and said: "If you want another practise to do the iron infusion you will need to do all the tests again (blood test and stool test.)" This was incorrect. I asked for a referral, incorrectly assuming I'd need one, and Dr. Kazi refused to give me one as "he was not my GP." Another lie. Thankfully, I did not need a referral at all. Furthermore, my new GP is completely perplexed as to why Doctor Kazi lied and said he was not my GP, that he had listed me as private when I am on Medicare, and that reception at Wynnum Medical Centre lied instead of informing me that I could get an iron infusion elsewhere. I should also add that Chemist Warehouse were stunned that Dr Kazi had listed me as private and that my iron cost $700 when it should have cost me $30. Dodgy! I had zero interest taking the one phone call or replying to the one email I received from this clinic as I knew they would refuse to take responsibility for their actions and in doing so try to gaslight me. Given the response to this review, I was completely correct in this assumption. Horrible people. Just horrible.
Nurses and receptionists are lovely, very professional, but both doctors, iv had very bad experience with. Iv been going there for about two years now, simply because it's bulk bilked and all I mostly need are Perscriptions. Anything more complex than that stay well away. I recently put a complaint in to the lovely manager about more silly mistakes Dr David has made. He can't even pronounce names of medicines properly, never mind make correct diagnosis. And accusing me of doctor shopping is declamation of my character and again, extremely unprofessional, I shall be seeking legal advice, and just to clear my name publicly and let everyone know the full story... Here's what actually happened.. I allready had a diagnosis from the Belmont specialist centre from a psychiatrist over 12 months earlier, I had a Perscription for vyvanse, for adhd, the Perscription I had was a private one as at the time it was given to me vyvanse wasn't on the pbs. Since January of this year, it is now available on pbs, so I simply asked Dr David, to re-write the exact same Perscription on pbs, firstly he never even heard of it, secondly couldn't properly pronounce it, thirdly when he looked it up online he couldn't fine the very obvious information about it being on pbs, he than phoned someone to ask who couldn't understand his poor English and he told me my information wasn't true. I proceeded to go to the pharmacy across the road, the chemist warehouse, and asked them, they looked it up, immediately found the correct information and printed it out for me, told me to go back to the Wynnum medical centre and show them this as they were clearly mistaken and it's a simply job of re-writing the same Perscription to pbs. At that stage, the medical centre was closed, I phoned back the following day as morally I felt obliged to make a complaint to the manager on duty to protect other customers from this incompetence, which the person I spoke to totally understood, at that point to respect the other good staff there I choose not to make a formal comment, but after being accused of "doctor shopping for class 8 drugs", again iv seen the ridiculous level of shocking and offensive incompetence and now will go to the full extent of the law. Iv all the evidence, from specialist reports, diagnosis, pharmacy information and call history. Should be interesting.
If I could turn back time, I would not have chosen to get microsuction done on 04/03/2021 by Dr Monsur (my name was Ching if you must match my name with your data). I understand some people had microsuction and had no problems. However, this extremely noisy procedure, like any other medical procedure, has its risks, which I wish I was made aware of. I have developed SEVERE chronic TINNITUS in both ears right after the procedure was done and the level of loudness has not decreased since then. I initially only had a slight hissing sound in my left ear before the procedure which I could barely hear but now, LOUD tinnitus in BOTH ears! I waited a few months to write this review because I was hoping things would change but no… my life has been different since then. Dr Monsur asked me to use Waxsol prior to the procedure. This medicine irritated my ear and it felt inflamed before the procedure (which I don’t blame the doctor for because it could be a potential side effect). I haven’t used it in my right ear because it was normal and I felt fine and I didn’t wanna get anything done with my right ear. On that day, I said I didn’t want him to clean my right ear but he insisted for a few times that he ‘want to have a try’ and that it would be quick. He vacuumed my ears for at least 5 mins each side and it was very traumatic to me. I wish I had the courage to just said no. Now, not only tinnitus, I also have chronic dermatitis inside my ear canal because of the procedure which irritated my skin (confirmed by two other GPs). After the onset of severe tinnitus, I felt very sad and anxious for a few months, thinking that I made a wrong decision that changed my whole life, and not knowing if this tinnitus would ever go away. If anyone wants to get microsuction done, please, think carefully before making your decision. It could be beneficial for some people, but like myself, it was a wrong decision. Microsuction did not solve my initial problem, but worsened it.
Moved to Queensland at the start of the year and perhaps I'm biased after having a sting of amazing, caring GP's historically but I'm honestly horrified by the treatment I received from Doctor Bojarajan. A few weeks ago I was unfortunately involved in a hit and run car accident where my small car was written off by a large vehicle and the driver speed from the scene. Since this, I have been left with neck and shoulder pain leading to headaches, nausea, difficulty carrying out some tasks and sleepless nights . Dr Bojarajan throughout this whole process (three appointments) has shown a complete lack of compassion, created an extremely uncomfortable patient/doctor environment and has made me feel pretty isolated. In our first appointment he diagnosed me with whiplash then in the following appointments his demeanour became dismissive, apathetic and untrusting towards me as I requested some paperwork to be completed. He poked me in the neck once and asked maybe a total of three questions about my symptoms and feelings and basically listened to zero of any other info I tried to provide him. Im a very physical guy who has always been reluctant to go to the doctors and speak about issues (the old male pride and no fuss attitude I suppose) and I have never been one to complain, in fact I am usually one to overlook issues and look for the positives or empathise with people & local businesses. However, this experience has left me anxious and feeling let down, and so I have been compelled to share my experience.
May I firstly say thank you for the opportunity to give this medical centre a review. I’m a very complex client, the Dr’s at this centre are amazing, we are Truly blessed to have such amazing Drs available to us. With the Support of Dr Arun, Dr Kuzzy, Dr David and the amazingly helpful nurses & staff Gail & Jess & others. Without their support over the past months, with the pain I’m going through they have gone above and beyond and continue to do so; where our major medical system is overwhelmed with sick and injured. I’ve been truly blessed to have such a supportive family practitioner and practice at hand to help me through this time. God bless I pray this medical practice stays with us for many years to come. I’m very humbled to have you all in my life right now.
After a visit to emergency and leaving with no diagnosis, I needed a GP to do a follow up appointment (new to the area/Brisbane, so I didn't have a local GP) I was booked in to see Dr. Davood Karimian on the day I called. The receptionist was very helpful. The doctor was polite and extremely thorough, conducting further tests to get to the bottom of my symptoms. Will definitely see him for my follow up and future appointments. I didn't realize until the doctor called me in for my consult that he had previously done our families skin checks, which he was very thorough with as well. This clinic is like a one stop shop
The worst medical practice I have ever encountered. Both my parents were taken to hospital after they had a horrible encounter with one of the doctors performing skin procedures. My mum was marked where she had some spots on her back and arms then told to put her dress back on. Only the spots on her arms were treated. When she enquired about the ones on her back she was told she would have to come back and pay again. All of the spots on my dad were infected and my mums lip also .no care or empathy given.
I'm so pleased to now have access to a high standard of treatment here in the Bayside area without the added stress of travelling to, and parking in the city. I couldn't be happier with my experience at Wynnum Medical Centre, all the staff are caring and professional. Being a pensioner the added bonus of my procedure being bulk billed was most welcome. I would highly recommend the clinic for quality care and treatment.
Thanks Doctor David, my family and I went to another doctor in another center for 2 times and the problem was still there. When we met Dr. David in this practice, he patiently listened to us and prescribed the right medication for us which cured us in a couple of days. Great doctor, great practice, great nurses. Strongly recommend this practice to all families.
Service good but recently they started charging $15 on top of your Medicare fee if you call them the day you would like to see them. Don't understand why this extra fee when appointment is only booked if a GP is available. Even if you walk in and willing to wait they would still charge you that extra $15 and said it is their new policy from 1st of this month.
worst at preparation of all time. Failed to send me an email/text with a time for my appointment, rescheduled my appointment multiple times and even changed my appointment to a different day without asking me. The most irritating part is that I have 3 appointments spread out over the week now because of them rather than in one day
Relatively new to the area, but super nice and friendly front counter staff that are always welcoming. The Drs seem good, I see the lady Dr and am thankful she is genuinely interested in knowing what's going in and actually forward plans an action plan for my health. They do mole checks as well. I do recommend them for sure.
GREAT SERVICE, ON TIME WITH MY APPOINTMENT ,NO WASTED WAITING TIME , ALL THE STAFF WERE GREAT, & UPLIFTING , TAKING MY MIND OFF THINGS THAT , COULD HAVE BEEN DEVASTATING, GREAT SERVICE! I WILL RECOMMEND THEM TO EVERYONE, CONVENIENT & EASY PARKING AS WELL, ! I WILL SEE YOU AGAIN , NEXT WEEK ! THANKS AGAIN xx
The best medical centre in the wynnum manly area I have found. Educated doctors that communicate and are able to carry out a conversation. They advise options in a modern manner and the facilities are modern and clean. Also open Saturdays. Bulk Bill. Skin checks and normal GP. Recommended.
Wynnum Medical Centre is an amazing centre with amazing staff. Reception is always willing to help and nothing is to much. The Doctors are not just in for the $$$ they really care about the patients. I’m now with them for the 5 years and can’t be more happier. Kind Regards Phillip
Made an appointment for 830. Arrived in time but by 850 I was still sitting waiting while I could hear the doctor have a nice casual conversation with someone and in no hurry or respect for other people's busy schedules. I won't waisted my time here again.
Finding the right medical centre is tricky. The staff here are polite and friendly. The Doctors are knowledgable and generally on time, which is extremely hard for Dr's to achieve. The nurses, Mary and Viv are amazing and always have time for a laugh.
So good to have a local melanoma clinic! The doctor and staff were great and got me sorted out straight away, very efficient and really convenient being so close to the chemist - I will definitely be making Wynnum medical centre my regular GP.
I never give 5 stars, as there is always room for improvement, but I have given 5 stars this time, as I had a procedure done & had a reaction & Mary & The Team, have gone over & beyond to help me back to health... Highly recommendation...
I would highly recommend this doctors, they are open to 05:00pm on a Saturday and they were able to offer me a last minute appointment. The receptionist was friendly and the doctor was very caring, knowledgeable and made me feel at ease.
I’m tired of Drs thinking they can waste peoples time sitting around all day waiting , over half an hour for a 5min visit l walked out I’ll never go back so disrespectful to lie to peoples face that it’s a 15 minute wait when it’s not .
Best doctors, very caring and passionate about my health issue, very understanding. I have done a full skin check in this Center, it was one the best and most reassuring session I had with a GP. Thank you all for being out there for us.
First bulk billing practice to actually take my health seriously and look at it all thoroughly. Always does follow ups and genuinely has patient best interest. Best receptionists, super accommodating and friendly, especially Colleisha.
I much preferred going to my local Drs for the jabs, because they know me, my history and it's a comfort zone. A welcoming smile from the receptionist, who knows my name without looking it up, makes it a really nice experience.
My appointment was with Dr. Davood Karimian who I have not seen for quite some time. I requested a blood test. Thank you, test done, I will be back to get the results. Good to have this facility for preventive medicine.
Dr Monsur is a lovely, caring person. He goes over and above to make sure you are comfortable and confident that you are able to ask anything. He takes his time and you wont walk away feeling rushed about the visit.
Dr Kazi is the most thorough Gp I have come across. He pays close attention to detail and always makes you feel extremely comfortable. The level of care this practice has is very high, I would highly recommend him
Great communication with patient. Well informed medical advice. All staff happy and communicable when client walks through the door. Doctor assisted me with great care. What more could you want. Just fabulous.
I have found the best doctor here & the staff are very friendly & helpful. So happy to have a reliable medical centre available! I have the best doctor - Thanks so much for taking care of me Dr Arun
As usual excellent service at Wynnum Medical Centre, Tingalpa this morning. Cheerful greeting from receptionist and reassuring clinical manner from Monsur Kazi at scheduled time. Thank you.
We have made last minute Sunday appointments with Dr Kazi twice now for 2 of our kids and cannot be happier with his care, detailed approach and the time he takes with his examinations…
I am so thankful of Wynnum Medical Center as they have done a great job in the early diagnoses of my chronic disease. Without David and his team my health status could be really bad.
The reception staff and the Dr I see are really good, bookings easy,, close to home and good assessment and treatment within visit by my Dr. Have now gone to not bulk bill 2022
Good if you want a medical certificate for a day off, which i didnt. but if you want a doctor that actually cares for solving the issues then I wouldn't recommend at all.
Friendly, helpful and professional reception personnel. Welcoming waiting area. Professional and thorough consultation with explanation of consult and followup.
Great Drs surgery, staff are friendly and professional Dr. Davood has helped me through some serious health issues. Couldn’t reccomend them high enough.
Very helpful and friendly reception staff. Prompt attention by medical staff who are always thorough and give the patient a sense of confidence.
Wouldn’t recommend. Extremely late for appointment with no apology. Doctor didn’t seem knowledgeable and it felt uncomfortable. Bad experience
Dissatisfied with the money grab $30 for the opportunity to get a regular script for medicine that costs less than the consult No notice given
Always a great experience - the staff is personable and professional. Dr Davood is outstanding. I would recommend this clinic to anyone.
Just had my first covid vaccination. Very easy experience. Everyone was lovely and it was quick and painless. I couldn’t ask for more.
I am looked after by Dr Kazi and he is one of the best. Very knowledgeable and takes the time to discuss and analyse my health needs.
Revenue gathering , every time tells you to come back in a week, went to another doctor and was rushed to surgery, avoid avoid avoid
