I recently had the displeasure of using your local movers (YLM) to pack and move my property. When YLM arrived, I found that even though I had told them the move was for a 3 bedroom house, they arrived with a small truck that would necessitate 2 loads to move my belongings. This obviously increases the travel time between locations and also the loading and unloading times as a large truck is much easier to pack than a smaller one, making the process faster. When I rang the depot and queried YLM, they then told me I would not be charged for travel time between locations, which is fair, however neither of the movers on the day knew this and it was only when I rang to complain that a concession was made. The male on the other end of the phone was quite hostile and when I made mention that there was increased time to pack two trucks rather than one, I was simply told that there was no other option and that one of the best movers had been supplied. I proceeded to watch the ‘best movers’ do as much as they could to stretch the time out including, constantly filling drink bottles, walking very slowly between truck and house, stopping to chat at the truck, instructing each other how to stack 1 box into the truck and other stalling techniques. When I rang and queried the depot, I was told that this surprised them and in their opinion they were doing a good job. All in all, it took the movers 2 ½ hours to fill the small truck – absolutely ridiculous. The depot manager who was quite rude and defensive eventually agreed to call the movers who then finally started to hustle (not without them bitching within earshot of me however). I have not experienced such hostile customer service in such a long time. In all, a job which should have taken 3 ½ - 4 hours took 5 hours due to the dawdling of the movers. I even asked them to simply unload most of the items into my garage so I would not have to watch them drag their feet moving boxes into the correct rooms and incur an even longer charge. Finally, beware of using their ‘professional packing service’ and their 100% breakage guarantee. The packing service did not adequately pack items including glass and toiletries. At the end of the move, they will ask you to sign a form stating you are happy with everything and it is all fine with no breakage or issues. How can you possibly know this unless you have unpacked every box? All in all, I would not recommend this company to anyone. I would also be very surprised if the excellent reviews they receive have not be done by themselves. Check back further into their Google reviews and you will see other unhappy customers.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! I wanted to share my experience in relation to my move that happened this past weekend. I initially planned on hiring a truck from Budget to make the move as cheap as possible but decided to source some quotes from local removalist companies just to get an idea on cost and service. I lodged an online enquiry with 'Your Local Movers' and was contacted via phone soon after by Kate who was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions with knowledge. She then sent me through a quote and some further information on the companies services. After a couple of days, I had still not made a decision either way and Kate contacted me again via phone and it was because of her manner and outstanding customer service that I booked in the move for 7:00am Saturday morning. On the morning of the move, Tom & Sunny turned up in the truck at my property at 6:45am and had a look at what needed moving and explained the process to me. Nothing was too hard for these two and they were polite, efficient and just absolutely wonderful. The move was swift & problem free and I just cannot praise Tom & Sunny highly enough. As I'm sure most 'movers' are, I was extremely stressed and the entire process of dealing with your company was fantastic and calmed my stress levels. We first used Your Local Movers in June 2017 and can honestly say it was the least stressful move we have ever had. Due to our lifestyle we do move around every couple of years and have never returned to the same removalist company, until now. As the move in June was only an interim move, we required a removalist again in late July and there was no question who we were going to use. Both times we were very fortunate to have Nathan as the Team Leader. He was supported the first time by Calab and the second move by Phalan. On both occasions we felt our belongings were being well cared for and respected. The boys worked efficiently and were always in good spirits. During the first move we did encounter some minor damage to outdoor side tables and a few markings on our fabric bed frame. However, the way in which these matters were handled by both Nathan and Zachary (management) showed true professionalism and genuine care for us as a customer. Both issues were resolved to our satisfaction and with complete ease. I would highly recommend this team to anyone and we love knowing we have found a removalist company with integrity who we can trust.

Shocking Experience of Your Local Movers. My in laws used your local movers last year. Oh what a lovely pleasant "nothing to much trouble" man turned up to do the quote. I thought all would be good.... Talk about over promise and under deliver. The guys that moved us were shocking. At the end of the day our family were nearly in tears. Be very wary of any hourly rate option as they were so slow. Constantly complaining and even Had the wrong size truck and blamed us for having to much stuff. They had been round the week before and measured up everything! Then spent the rest of the day slagging off their quote team or "our guys wearing the shirt" that carries out the qoutes for them because he always gets it wrong. They even damage walls at our new place which we have given up with chasing them for an were also very careless with our items as we watched them the whole time. Using "your local movers" was One of the most stressful days of my life, so far. Hopefully you will get to see this review before it is pushed down by other alleged good reviews.

My experience with your local movers was far from positive. It was a local move I believe it was not reasonably charged and overcharged the job. Why do I need to pay for their lunch break? Shouldn't the company need to do that. I also got told it was max a 4hr job should be done in 3hrs next minute get charged almost $800 ridiculous to top it off I discussed payment with the operational manager explaining my financial situation due to the move he said he would let me pay half that day and the next day the rest to find out he didn't check what he was doing and charged me the whole amount knowingly I had just discussed payment option. He apologised but being an operational manager mistakes like that shouldn't happen with customer it's not great listening and communication skills. I would not recommend them at all because at the end of it all they cost me more and were MORE STRESSFUL!!!! Not a HAPPY CUSTOMER.

Had a horrible experience with "Your Local Movers" a few weeks ago. When booking, I told them I am moving a 4 bedroom house and named every single item I have. On the day of the move, after being an hour late, they arrived with a small truck which could not fit even half of my furniture. The driver discussed the issue with their manager on the phone, and the solution they offered was to do two trips (from Brisbane to Gold Coast) with me paying for all travel time!! On top of all this, The truck they sent, rolled down my driveway (with handbrake up) bringing the neighbour's fence down. Luckily no one was hurt. I would not trust my furniture in that truck anyway! They completely ruined the move for me, and offered no explanations or apologies afterwards.

The move was a hassle free experience, and the 2 guys who came were great! Thanks Graham, and Jack! Why then I'm rating only 3 stars? This is because there was a damage done to one of the door lock metal plate. It was ripped off the door frame. This was reported immediately and Graham informed the office immediately. This happened back on 27 Dec 17., but the repair is still not done till today! The repairer they use is like the King. Everyone is dependent on his time. This does not make me feel like I am a customer AT ALL!! What's worst is that my Bond is still withheld by the Property Agent until the repairs are completed! So damn ridiculous that it takes a month to repair! So unhappy with the way they do things after getting their money!!

I have moved twice with these guys. I rated it highly and have referred them to friends and wanted to write a review since I do this to pass on the good will when someone does there job above average and deserves recommendation. I found the movers really helpful in managing the time and effectiveness of the move. They were on time, very respectful and actually really helpful for the whole process. I expected them to not be so friendly and really good at giving a damage free move given the stereotypes about hiring moving companies. A big thank you to Zac and his team at Your Local Movers for making our move from the Gold Coast to Brisbane one that is memorable for the right reasons. With an office and household of furniture to move again after having moved interstate twice and overseas once we were dreading the fall out that sometimes unfolds. I am pleased to report that everything arrived in mint condition including a library of about 2000 books. Quite a feat considering it had poured raining for 3 days during the move. The lads were nothing less than accommodating to all our requests both during the packing and unpacking stages. I highly recommend Your Local Movers for any job big or small.

I have never done a review before however I was so happy that I am going to the trouble to share. From start to end they were great. They sent the right sized truck. Very accommodating as we had to take things to a couple of different places first. Aiden and Mitch were amazing. At the end they did it in the dark as Energex hadn't connected the power and moving all the furniture without batting an eyelid up 5 flights of stairs. They're not big guys however I have moved a few times and never had it handled so well. Very fit and strong and pleasant to deal with. I cannot recommend these guys enough.

Your team were great, making the experience hassle free. They arrived right on time and hit the ground running, loading the truck in what seemed like next to no time and unloading in a similar fashion. The Your Move team gave us a few compliments too letting us know that they appreciated that we were ready for them and had everything packed properly to go and they appreciated the cold drinks too at break time. After wrapping up in the new office on the Friday your team had us all set for start of play on the Monday, with zero interruption to Optimum Recoveries well done!

Moving with such a massive amount of stuff was creating much anxiety, but the movers arrived with a smile , which was not diminished during the process of loading my entire house hold effects of antiques and collectables into the trucks.I never felt for a moment uncomfortable about anything. Excellent company to deal with, and came in cheaper than other companies. The young guys that did the relocation were excellent and efficient. They were extremely polite at all times. They were also accommodating when it became apparent that I may not be able to access the new tenancy to relocate at certain time, and they were more than accommodating - however there was nothing to stress about, because they ended up finishing at the same time. Would highly recommend this company to do any office relocation.

Our moving experience with the YLM team was, I'm pleased to say, seamless. From first contact on the phone to our final item being carefully moved into our new home. Your Local Movers moved my furniture from Brisbane to Melbourne. I was really pleased with the friendly sales guy that came to check out my place for the quote. The price was about 20% less than other interstate removalists so I was happy to go with them. My stuff arrived on time an unmarked. I've had stuff stolen by removalists before (Didn't realise for a few weeks and of course they denied it) I really suggest calling these guys over Ex-Con Removals.

I would like to express my feedback, I found Your Local Movers to be incredibly helpful. I found myself hung over the saturday morning they arrived and all i wanted to do was nothing. Curtis was extremely kind and organised. he even assembled my bed and then place the linen on my bed for me to fall asleep as soon as they left. I thought it was a lovely gesture. The move was all over in 2 hours. I would definitely be recommending these guys.

I have lived in over 20+ houses already so I know all too well how painful moving can be. I've spoken to people who have previously used the company and they couldn't speak highly enough of them. I've also spoken to The Local Movers staff personally and knowing how friendly and helpful they seem to be I would hands down choose them as my removalist for the next time I decide to relocate. Great guys. Really friendly service and they thought of pretty much everything. Even gave me a list of things to sort out when moving (ie change address with the bank, phone company etc.). They were on time, efficient and careful. It was quite refreshing to know that my stuff was in safe hands pretty much from the get go. Have recommended them to everyone I know and anyone who has used them has had the same experience.

Sadly, the goodwill amassed by the cheery helpfulness of the removalists was quickly eroded by the attitude of the Operations Manager, whose arrogant refusal to honour the company's advertised slogan "Stress Free Guaranteed", and their written offer of "100% repair guarantee free with every move" meant my stress levels soared, and I would never use (or recommend) the company again.

Wonderful service - This company provided a professional, compassionate, and , timely service to a client within the organisation that I am employed at. For confidentiality reasons I am unable to disclose the details of the organisation but I had a discussion with the client who directly received services and she was so thankful, appreciative, and impressed with how they worked.

Moving house is one of those difficult tasks that unless you move every 6 months, you don't really know what you're doing. The Local Movers guys were really helpful with advice over the phone before the move, as well as on the day. They even reminded us to let the fridge settle for half an hour before turning it on, something I've never heard in all the times I'd moved before.

Your Local Movers moved some items for me recently. This was not the first time I have used them. As with my previous experience, it was a breeze. They were easy to deal with, the delivery guys were sensational. There had been an issue with something in transit, and there is no issue with having that rectified. We had these guys move us from Annerley to Ipswich and they did an excellent jobs. They were professional on the phone and the guys who did the move were too. We have had bad experiences with movers before, rude bogans who were late, smoked on the job and broke our furniture. What a nightmare! But the Your Local Movers guys were just fantastic!

These guys are efficient, friendly and know exactly what they are doing. We live three stories up with no elevator and they pushed on without any issues and with a massive smile on their faces. Mitch and i think his name was Jacob was a great help and top blokes in helping us move from Milton to algester they both did a great job and weren't just trying to charge us through the teeth, they were happy for the help we gave them and in helping them we got it done sooner then expected and therefore cheaper in the end.

very poor service. Damaged our bedroom furniture, broke our dining room table , damage our entertainment unit and did not cover any of the damage. Failed to deliver some of our furniture. If we were not so busy we would have taken legal action against them. I would recommend Scotty's, who we have used since.

I phoned Your Local Movers after having an appalling experience with CBD Movers (Indian scammers - DO NOT USE!) Moved from Sydney to Brisbane using a taxibox. Paul and Caleb turned up and got right into it had the taxibox emptied in an hour and where gone. Nice fellas looked after everything and didn't waste any time. Definitely happy with the service and with how fast they moved everything into my new place!

Great service. The removalists were really friendly. I wasn't at the furniture pick-up site but they kept in touch and called me if they had any doubts about what was to be moved and how it needed to be packed. That had me feeling confident that it was all being handled with care.
