Ill start by saying i don't post a lot of reviews online about exceptional or terrible reviews. But this might help the next unexacting stranded motorist. Apparently there was some mis communication when getting a quote from Zip Locksmith to have my truck door unlocked because the keys were locked in the vehicle. They asked me my address to get the best estimate on pricing. After hanging up and calling another locksmith to compare prices i ended up going with Puget Sound locksmith strictly because it would have been cheaper, so i had them send a tech to help me out. Well 20 minutes later i had a tech show up and unlock the door (maybe 5 minutes of work) which was great! Then he wanted payment , naturally, and tried to charge me $174 when i was quoted $89 from Puget Sound Locksmith. I asked him if he was from PSL because i had the suspicion he was from the other company I called. He said "yes, i am." which he clearly wasn't. I believe there may have been a language barrier but you should still know what company you're from.. right?? He did end up lowering the price to $98, and i guess i can say i am grateful for that. After the tech left i proceeded to call PSL to confirm that this guy was not a tech they sent to complete the job. The PSL tech hadn't even left yet and was about to hop in his truck when i called. Long story short, i believe ZIP Locksmith was trying to beat the competition and charge outrageous labor costs. Please beware when you give out your address for quoting. Just give them a closest land mark or maybe even just the street you live on so they can accurately estimate the travel time.

I was locked out of my car last night. This was the third company I called. I was told when I asked a $29 trip fee and about $60 to unlock. Seemed a little pricey but ok. Tech calls a couple minutes later says he can be there in 15-20 minutes about 8:30pm. Over 30 minutes later he shows up. I ask him how much he says $29 trip fee and $79 to open. I told him what the rep said and he said he will discount it to a total of $99. Even after telling him it will take less then 5 minutes to get into my 2002 Toyota Sienna. He said to me oh well if you had called me directly then it would only be about $60 total. In 26 years of driving this is only my 3rd time locking my keys in my car. So I timed him just under 4 minutes it took him to get into my car. As I started filling out the invoice then noticed the $108 charge not the $99 like he said he would discount. I wasn’t going to write a review but when I called to speak to a manager this morning was told that the only way to contact anyone was via email. Price isn’t the total issue it’s more being mislead twice by two different people who work for this company is the frustrating part.

First thing I asked was for a quote. Lady on the phone went ahead and got all my info and got the locksmith for me without saying a price. So I was expecting the locksmith to tell me the price at some point. I called the service in for my parents home so they didn’t know what was and wasn’t communicated to me. They went ahead and opened the bathroom door still without quoting anything to my parents so my parents figured I already knew the price. 175$ charge for 5 seconds of service. The locksmith said I should’ve known? You could get doors for cheaper. 1 stars for successfully opening my door. -4 starts for shady business. Seems like they’ll do everything for you and tell you the price at the end so you’re stuck with an absurd amount.

Watch out with how you are quoted. They quoted me a very competitive "service call" price and could be at my house within the hour. Unfortunately, I thought the service call cost was for a technician to come and diagnose the lock problem. When the locksmith arrived he said ok - it's another fee to look inside the lock. The service call fee is just for him to arrive in my driveway. If he can fix it would be an additional fee.. Three fees for one job. He only told me one over the phone before hand. Never again! Later, I called three different places and Zip locksmith was the most expensive when you include all the fees. A better way to quote would have been to drop all the fees and just say first hour is x and each additional hour is y.

I called in & got a quote of 29.29 for service call and between 29.99 - 45.00 for rekeying the lock. That was all of the potential charges explained to me. So when the technician arrived he quoted $65.65, for labor $15.15 and a 3% fee for using a credit card. REALLY?! I called back to the office to ask them why they were not clear on ALL the charges & be exact when people call in. Just be honest when potential clients call in & give them accurate information. The techs dont wear uniforms or even a shirt or jacket with the business name, so a bit unclear it was the technician when he arrived. I needed this lock changed & sucked up the cost. I just went ahead & got it done. He was efficient & changed the lock super quick.

Saved my day!!!! And my peace of mind. I lost my key and had another company rekey my locks that night. The next morning, the door knob came off in my hand. They didn't show up to fix things, so I called Zip Locksmith to help. The technician, David, had me text him a photo so he knew he would have the right parts, then arrived when he said he would and fixed everything quickly. Everything works like a charm. Be careful when calling locksmiths. This company is legit and responsible. They actually answer the phone and give quick and professional response. I am so pleased with their customer service. David has been very nice to work with. Very considerate and professional. I recommend Zip Locksmith as highly as possible!

I put in an inquiry online and got a call from the "dispatch" entity. They didn't give me any information and pointed me towards a technician. The technician called and pushed to come out immediately, and was intentionally vague on price. I told him I'd call back in a few minutes, and got multiple calls before I called back. When I did talk with the technician again I let him know I was pursuing another resolution. The dispatch agency then called back two separate times, offering different / lower prices. Seems like a poor way to do business. Be upfront with your offering and your pricing, and don't be pushy about service windows.

Did extensive research on this matter of getting into my ride and although it seemed that the dealership route was cheaper in getting a new key bought, cut, programmed and tow. However, David was very reasonable hearing out my situation and offered a significantly lower price than what the dealership listed. More over, David was going to get this taken care of right then and there. Situations like that are pricy, however when customer service skills like David come into play, it softens the recoil of any negative grounds you're in. Highly recommended. Give them a call and I'm sure they'll be willing and open to work with you.

You guys know how it is, sometimes when you go out to a bar or a club and dance the night away, stuff just falls out of your pocketbook! Last night, I had one of those nights & my keys were nowhere to be found. Only, I realized this after my Uber ride home... I wasn't gonna go back to the club to look for my keys on the floor with hundreds of people in there, so I called Zip. They showed up at my house within 20 minutes, and helped me get in. I have to admit, I did feel weird calling someone I didn't know come to my house in the middle of the night, but they kept it totally professional.

I called to get a quote on price, and was told there was a $29.99 service fee for the technician and that the unlocking would cost 50 to $60. I then waited about 30 minutes for their technician to come out ( for reference, I was maybe a mile away from the location listed on Google). The technician then told me it was going to be $140. $29.99 plus $129 for the unlocking service. I was appalled , as this was double what I was expecting to pay. based on my previous phone call. The technician was kind, and lowered the cost to the $90 I was expecting, but all in all it seems pretty scammy.

I think that the service provided was pretty darn impressive, notwithstanding a little miscommunication that was primarily my fault at the beginning. I accidentally told them to come at 12:30 when I really meant 1:30, but that was my fault, they came on time and I let me them in to do the job. Funny thing is, that they were able to finish by 1:30 which actually put me ahead of my schedule. I was impressed with this company, bigly.

Came out to repair broken door handle set. Wanted to charge me $400 just to fix it! Declined the quote and paid the $29 trip charge. The tech asked that I make him a reasonable offer. I figured a replacement would cost $125 and then $50 labor to install. He declined, so I paid him the $29 and he left. Hours later he called me later to try and work a deal under the table. No thank you! What a scam!

Best locksmith we've ever used. Needed to replace a mailbox lock and they gave a phone quote which turned out to be the actual price. They changed their schedule to accommodate mine.Dave are skilled professional and very personable. At no charge, they used tri-flow on another lock to freshen it up. Zip Locksmith is first-rate and should be your lock-smith of choice.

I locked myself out of my office on Christmas Eve on my way out of town, and called Zip in a desperate frenzy. Their locksmith was extremely courteous, kind and prompt. He showed up and had the door open in less than 40 minutes and even offered me a discount. Fantastic customer service and professionalism, I would recommend their service to anyone!

Exceptionally rude staff. Called to see if they would make a copy of a house key, and they hung up on me. I called back and they bluntly said they only do mobile work, and hung up again. I understand that I was inquiring about the wrong scope of service, however there is no need to be rude and I will be sure to use another locksmith in the future.

Called him because his window was busted out at the location and told him he should secure his property, you know put a board up or something. He just yelled something then hung up. Probably a great locksmith, but I was just letting him know in case he didn't know and he wasn't very professional about it.

ZERO STARS! TERRIBLE! RIP OFF!!! They quoted me $45 with a $ 29 service fee then showed up with no tools to pick my lock then proceeded to bust my door handle off my door completely destroying it! Then charging me over $120.00! So all in it costs me over 160.00 for an single door knob to be picked.

I left my keys in my lincoln and accidentally had the car locked while I was getting gas. To my luck, Zip Locksmith was only 5 minutes away so in less than half an hour I was able to get back in and on the road. It was a tough day but these guys made it a bit better. Glad to be back in my lincoln.

Asked the price and it was $189, then he needed lore parts. He wouldn't nail the exact price down and I quickly added in my head and I said $500 give or take. The bill ended up at $750 what con artist and rip off. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Very professional and quick..definitely would use again..had a key deadbolt replaced with a turn key deadbolt..had to drill and enlarge deadbolt hole because security door was older but it was done.
