I thought I'd order over the phone rather than Menulog. I wanted to support the small local business so they didn't need to pay Menulog a cut and also figured it'd be a little cheaper for me such as previously promised. Upon picking it up there was no rice. I politely requested rice to accompany my curry and it was promptly brought out. She then told me it was a $10 minimum for EFTPOS (to pay for my $3.50 rice). I smirked and told her I didn't have any cash (kind of the reason I paid on card in the first place). She then told me she'd need to charge me a fifty cent fee. I told her if she had to then she had to but if she did I wouldn't be back to which she muttered under her breath. Getting my food home the cheese naan was dry and the curry was ordinary at best. I previously rated this place and have been here many times. When I ordered from the car I figured it wasn't fresh when they told me it would be ready in five minutes, but as it was previously good I thought it would be okay. I won't be back..
This is a very small place, although not that hard to find. We were the only people there when we walked in, which was both surprising but not as I think most of their business is takeaway. The women who served us was nice and helpful, and the drinks came out quickly. The starters left us with little hope though, the onion Bajjis were disgusting, they were soggy and dry, tasting like flour. The vegetable samosas were better, and absolutely huge, but still not my favourite. We weren't expecting much when the curries came out, but they were amazing and really redeemed the night for us. The cheese garlic naan bread I had was so good, so cheesy and buttery and moist, I loved it. Everyone enjoyed their mains, and the woman was nice enough to take the onion Bajjis off the bill for us as we ordered two lots and only just stomached one. Overall was a good night, would definitely go back for their curries.
Now a person that is not into curries. Gotta say I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to my friend's and families. I absolutely loved the butter chicken, Malibu lamb, Mango chicken & cheese/ cheese garlic naan. I am salivating right now as I am describing the beautiful taste of this fine cuisine. Loved the customer service and thank you to the owner who took the time to come and talk to us and answering our questions. Appreciate it alot. I have been to this restaurant numerous of times ever since I have been introduced by my loving husband. Thank you again to Cooks Castle Penrith!

Hubby and I have been looking for a decent Indian restraunt since we arrived in Australia in '95. Cooks was recommended by my work colleagues. Tonight we had a meal from there that can only be described as Absolutely Fabulous!! We tried the "Countryside Indian experience" thingy dish, prawn curry, chicken korma garlic bread, onion pakora and chicken tikka. You've GOT to try this restraunt ...it's yummy yummy yummy.. We're both looking foward to eating our way through the entire menu . Hubby told me that when he picked up our meal tonight a member of staff followed him out the door. Apparently there was in issue with one of our curries. They fixed it all up and gave us free pappadums. V happy
The cook castle food is delicious and fingers licking! It’s very authentic Indian food and one of the best food you can find in Penrith area, accompanied by their excellent service! The staff is remarkably friendly and incredibly accommodating. We've ordered food for few of our birthdays and social gatherings with 40-50 guests in past, and guests loves it! Yesterday we went for a quick dinner with family, thought to drop a line this time. Well done cook castle!

The best butter chicken and naan we've ever had! The only place we've found to offer a cheese, chilli and garlic naan and it's always so fluffy and flavourful. The lamb vindaloo is also very tasty. Meats are consistently tender and cooked perfectly, which we love. Delivery is always early or on time. Staff are always friendly and helpful. We order from Cooks Castle regularly direct from their website. Proud to continue to support this local family business, they also do a lot for the community. Highly recommended!

I ordered pick up. The Chicken Biryani was really disappointing. The Goat curry was just passable. The best thing was the cheese and garlic bread.. When I went in to pay and pick up, The lady said there was a surcharge and when I asked how much she didn't know. The answer didnid1878 t. Even reply and just continued to process my payment. I spent just under sixty dollars and probably won't do that again with them.

From the outside, this place may not look very appealing but we thought we'd give them a try (via Menulog, to be exact) and we were pleasantly surprised. The food is great and reasonably priced. We've tried a number of dishes and were very happy with each one. They have a little bit more of an authentic taste than others I've been to and the selections can be little more obscure if you've not been to Indian restaurants before. Delivery times are less than they quote, which is always nice too. Overall, I'd recommend trying them, even if it is to go.
Thank you so much Cooks Castle I was finding it hard to get a good restaurant in Penrith specially for Indian food and I came across this restaurant I must say one of the best butter chicken and garlic naan I have ever had not to forget I have been adding more dishes like kolhapuri prawns, the chole samosa chat was cherry on the cake... We order food from here Almost every week as it's do tempting. The staff is also very friendly definitely will recommend ths to family and friends when ever they are in Penrith.. Thanks so much everyone.
Great location opposite Penrith Westfield, alfresco seating outside so quite romantic. We ordered vegetable Samosas, and a unique vegeterian entree with Chicken Tikka a and a goat curry. The food was absolutely superb with the meat curries having a good portion of protein. The quality than the restaurants in Harris Park, Sydney's little India. The service was extremely attentive with a polite quality check by the waitress after serving each course. We were also provided table water without having to ask for it. Good for families.
I was worried this might be Captain Cook themed and as I am devoted to decolonisation this worried me, but I was thrilled to learn it was just 'cooks' as in people that cook food and they did a damn good job at it too. The Baingan bhartha was delicious:s with complex spices and the paranthas were some of the best I've ever head, the garlic naan is great but you should really try the other breads on offer here as they are very special. Excellent service and great place to sit outside in a warm Penrith night.
My wife and I have eaten at Indian restaurants in many parts of the world. We can honestly say that our dinner at Cooks was up there with the best, or may even BE the BEST of them all::— at least judging by the dishes we had. I kid you not. Beef Bombay was beyond good, the chicken chettinad, sublime, and the idli ka pani (tamarind water) of the golgappa (pani puri) was far and away the best we’ve ever tasted. We’ll be back.

My family has been eating with cooks castle for years. Of the last 18 months mostly delivery. We live in orchard hills, 100m at the most off the northern road. We have had many deliveries here but not tonight. We the lady refused to listen to me that they have been here many times and my house is closer then parts glenmore Park yet they will deliver to glenmore Park. I'm sure we will dine in here again as the food is very nice but moving forward all takeaways will have to be from another restaurant.
Ordered through menu log, was really indecisive about a good Indian restaurant in our area but took the risk, seeing the great ratings! Ordered a spicy butter chicken curry which was just right (creamy and spicy) and naan breads. The naan could have been more fresh but we did live 30 minutes away so understandable! The naans are tad smaller than usual so buy more to be safe! Overall the food was really great, satisfied our cravings and I'd definitely recommend it! :)
We had dinner on Valentines day and the restaurant was at 80% full. Service was a little poor - they forgot a rice (this was a blessing in the end as their servings are large) and forgot our Riata. Not a huge selection for alcohol however was good quality. Restaurant and surrounds very clean and the atmosphere was great - we sat outside. Inside is quite small. The food was fantastic - lots of flavour and well presented. Definitely will be dining there again.
Was an amazing experience to be at cooks castle. Nice little restaurant with good customer care. The food was delivered fresh and hot and absolutely on time. Aloo tikki was mind blowing. Baigan bhartha and kadai paneer was as per our taste and requirements. They have delivered the hot and spicy chicken curry as per our request. Pricing were also reasonable. Plenty of parking available in surroundings. Highly recommended.
Food delivered was mixed standard. Samosa was cooked to the point of being burnt, very dark & over crisp...most likely reheated & arrived at room temp. The two Nan breads were disappointing, plain nan only when butter was requested. Karma Nan was under spiced. Plus, very nice medium spiced butter chicken & chicken wings. Good pappadams too. I would try again if necessary only. The delivery guys seemed unprofessional.
I ordered paneer burji tonight. Disappointed with the service. Ordered many times. Sometimes I ignore it. They just sell paneer butter masala as paneer burji. We can see some paneer CUBES. It is not PANEER BURJI by LOOK or TASTE!!!!! Totally tasteless. We called them but they speak rude. No solutions. We will never come back again !!!

I’ve been spoilt with great Indian restaurants in Sydney such as A Thousand Spices @ Homebush and Abhi’s @ Concord, so I think I know my Indian cuisine. I’ve tried all of the Indian restaurants in the Penrith area and Cooks Castle is by far and away the best with beautifully flavoured sauces in their meals. My favourites are their Butter Chicken, Lamb Korma and Garlic Naan. Easily awarded a 5 star rating.
We have been ordering from Cooks Castle for 6 years now ( dine in, take away, Uber eats, Menulog) and not once have we had a single complaint! The food is always delicious and perfectly packed to reserve the heat! The sauce are always fresh and the papadums taste like they just came out of the fryer! Cooks castle is an absolute delight of a restaurant and we will never stop ordering from them! Thank you!
I have now ordered from this place 4 times because the food was reasonable and every single time they have stuffed up our order. Tonight was the last straw of getting a meat dish instead of a vegetarian one. Their solution to the problem is never satisfactory and tonight the answer was somehow me being yelled at by the worker. Food isn’t worth the hassle, won’t be coming back.
Went here for a quick pit stop with our 10 month old daughter. Food was absolutely amazing and the service was impeccable! Our daughter was making it hard for us to eat as she is the fussy type, so the staff offered to hold her whilst we ate, we accepted their kind gestured and got to thoroughly enjoy the last of our food. Honestly, highly recommended these guy's! 100%!
This place is by far the best Indian restaurant in Penrith.Had samosa, lamb cutlets, butter chicken, beef vindaloo, garlic naan and cheese naan. Tastes SO good!Everything was just perfect. Some of my friends are vegetarian and vegan and the restaurant generous vegetarian curriesfor them. Service is very special and the chef is just awesome. Highly recommend this place!
Cooks Castle is our go too for Indian food. The flavours are outstanding, the food is always fresh, hot and delicious. Our go to meals are: Tandoori Lamb Cutlets, Chicken Madras & Chicken Vindaloo. Every time we order, we cannot stop mentioning how amazing the food is. Highly recommend.

Once again excellent experience . Fourth time we have eaten from here and food has always been 5/5. Restaurant is clean and tidy . Service was fantastic . We ordered lamb vindaloo , butter chicken , chicken tikka and rice & Food was beautiful We will be back again and I recommend this to anyone that’s looking for great Indian food in the penrith area .
We ordered pick up from here today and they accidentally gave us a very very spicy dish even though we ordered everything mild... BUT, we gave them a call to let them know and they went out of their way to delivery another one to us. We really appreciate the effort, thank you so so much! The food is delicious and I definitely recommend this restaurant!
I love Cook's Castle. Everything is always delivered hot and fresh. Prices are very reasonable and when you say you want your dishes hot and spicy, they mean it! The service is great and the ladies on the phone are always friendly. Sometimes orders can take longer on weekends and busy periods but we just order in advance to remedy this.
We were returning from our trip to Blue Mountain and Jenolan Caves and went to Cook's Castle for dinner. The food was fantastic, there wasn't one thing that wasn't 'absolutely great'. We also love the way the staff spoke to us and took care of us. I recommend this place to anyone who love quality Indian food and like good customer service.
Bort our meal via Uber Eats. Partner very fussy about various cuisines. Honestly it was the BEST INDIAN MEAL, our request was met superbly. Partner absolutely LOVE IT, everything was well wrapped, fresh and well presented. We be DEFINITELY ordering again. Thank you to the Chef, WELL DONE Cooks Castle bravo.❤
Most amazing food in Penrith (and probably among the best I've had anywhere)! We are regular customers and will continue to return even though we have moved an extra half an hour away! Well worth the drive for a delicious meal. Our favourite choices are Achari Soya Chaap, Malai Kofta and the Mushroom Mattar Malai!
Great Indian food and helpful staff. We had Papdi chat and it was amazing. Garlic Naan and Mixed vegetables was delicious too. Place is inexpensive and quality of food is great. Recommend this place. We were returning to Sydney from Blue mountains and this place was a great find for us.we will definitely return.
Delicious meal, friendly service and reasonably priced. Shame that we don't live closer otherwise this place would have been our weekly go to!

Butter chicken was just chicken with a sauce. They need to learn how to make authentic butter chicken. The receptionist appeared stressed and did know what she was doing. Other dishes were quite bland too. Would not recommend you spend money on low quality food like this. There are better Indian outlets around.
Tasteless..will not go or recommend. We ordered while on Holidays in Sydney and this was nowhere close to a good indian food. Chicken curry - we all had one bite each and it was so plain and Naan bread were also not good at all. I do not recommend. Food was hot for sure but that was it, nothing else was good.
First time ordering after reading all the positive reviews.OMG!! The most friendliest of service and flavours to die for .Best butter chicken ( and I’ve had it in India!)I will definitely be back to eat my way through the menu :-)

We ordered Prawn Biryani, paneer butter masala and the baigan bhartha.... every dish was fresh, fragrant and delicious! Especially loved the smoky eggplant flavour of the baigan bhartha and the intense flavors in the biryani! The service was friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. A new favorite for us!

Had home delivery a few times but never dined in. Service and food is fantastic, very similar to the British Indian food. Naan was cooked in a clay oven and excellent with Chicken Tika and Lamb Vidaloo. Owner either gave me a free Indian donut and ice cream due to my extreme perspiration.
Small little place with outside seating also available. Food is best Indians IV had in long time, reasonable prices, garlic naan is amazing! Food came out promptly. They even refilled table water without asking. Keep it up pls, so hard to find good local n authentic Indian restaurants.
Ordered yesterday from a delivery app. Their food are just taste perfect for us. We tried different indian restaurants and they just can’t give what we have requested. We found our place whenever our cravings for indian food kicks in. Definitely will be ordering here again.
I don't add any reviews unless something really compels me to do so. I am vegetarian and I love having paneer dishes. I have had dishes from many restaurants in Western Sydney and I must say that paneer dishes at Cooks Castle Penrith is the best. They are just outstanding!
The food here is delicious! Absolutely mouth watering! The staff are friendly and welcoming! Great ambiance and easy to find location! A great gem in Penrith. The butter chicken with rice is perfect, the naan is delicious. Definitely recommend this restaurant!
The food was THE BEST. You will get pure Indian food test. The Kaju Koya and Garlic Roti was perfect. Highly recommend this resutrant. You want be disappointed. Staff is very friendly and will help you with food selection. Thanks guys for awesome food …
Such great service, and the food is amazing! Very affordable especially for the quality! The serving sizes are deceptively large and the mango lassi is amazing. I will be recommending this restaurant to everyone, the best indian place I've been to.
We got takeaway delivered from here tonight and I was disappointed that the palak paneer wasn't green and didn't taste like spinach at all :( also I got a tiny chunk of meat in it and I'm vegetarian. The naan bread and onion bhaji were nice though.

Don't be fooled by the rather drab decor, this wonderful little place has the best food, fresh, made to your liking, meat curries melt in the mouth, and great service. Website easy to navigate if ordered from home. Thoroughly recommend.
Nothing negative about this place, food is really good, staff friendly and quick. Its a smaller place but cosy and nice outdoor seating. The chicken biryani and lamb vegetable masala both delicious also the mango lassi.
Don't judge a book by its cover. Place was empty, if I didn't check the reviews we would have gone elsewhere. Butter chicken was fantastic and the service was lovely. Good pricing as well. We'll definitely be back!
Food delivered with cold and barely warm meat. Portions ridiculously small for $16 plus a dish. Only eat from here if your happy for your Indian food being overpriced and under portioned with quality a miss.
Extremely tasty Indian food and very consistent. If you want Indian in the Penrith area, don't waste your time anywhere else.

Got home delivery having never eaten before... 5 stars. Best Indian food I've had. Photos of the place look dull, but don't let that fool you! Had it twice this fortnight now...
Couldn't recommend more. Staff are perfect and the food is delicious. We try to come here once a fortnight if we can! Thankyou for some lovely and very tasty nights out …
We got take away & had a FABULOUS experience. Online ordering was super easy, food was pretty good & they did the physical distancing & hygiene perfectly! Highly recommend.
Our go-to Indian restaurant in this area, we’ve ordered here consistently over 2 years. Great food, service and tastes more authentic than other Indian restaurants.
Would highly recommend! We have eaten from here so many times and the quality of food is second to none. Best Indian I've ever had! Thank you Cooks Castle …
Amazing food. Reasonable prices. Content ratio matches the price and most importantly food is very delicious. Highly recommended for Indian food in this region.
Terrific flavour and nice interplay of spices. Samosa is very tasty so is Samosa Chhole. Chicken wings are appropriately hot. Keep up the awesome taste. Cheers

My favourite Indian restaurant in Penrith! Friendly people and consistently great food. Really appreciate the broad range of vegetarian dishes.
Tried almost all vegetarian dishes from here, and needless to say they are AWESOME !!! one of the best North Indian restaurants in Sydney :)
The food was absolutely amazing, best Indian we have had since moving to western Sydney. The staff were really polite, cheerful and helpful
Great value and friendly service. Food taste great, much better than you would find in a food court for slightly more cost. Recommended.
Great food. Eaten here a few times but why would they shrink the Samosa to half the size. Cost cutting! Or maybe a change in ownership!
Ordered take away of chicken tikka masala from cook’s castle today. The food was literally inedible and the worst I have ever tasted.
Always great food and lovely service. Never had a bad meal! Their lunch deal is great value as well. Best Indian we've had in town.

Had the beef vindaloo delivery last night. The best i have ever had, meat was so tender and so much flavor.
One of the best Indian restaurants around. Always great service and great food. Best butter chicken ever
The best Indian in Penrith for sure. Especially their cheese and chilli naan, and hot butter chicken.
From my experience with dining in: good portion sizes for the price, great naans, and lovely staff
