Saw on the website that it did not close until 9pm on a Thursday. Arrived after work at 5.45pm after I finished work looking for some shoes for my daughter as she has just had a growth spurt. At 6pm I was informed by the staff that they were closing as to which I apologised I had checked the closing time before I came. Then only to be met with death stares while trying to get my 2 year old to hurry up and get to the checkout, then asked if I could pay with afterpay to be stared at horribly by 6 employees for a few minutes before I got an answer and then grunted and sighed at. I work in customer service myself and if you don't like dealing with people get a different job. Extremely poor service, and sour faces!!

We live on the northwest coast of Tasmania and don't have a big w close by , my 4 year old daughter spotted a toy in the toymania catalogue that she wanted for her birthday next week. After an hour of trying to buy it on line I rang Big W in Glenorchy to ask if they could hold one for me until the next day, Only to be told quite rudely, that they don't hold catalogue items and we have plenty of them in stock so if we make the trip ( 3 1/2 hour) we will get one. My husband and I took the trip only to get there and none were left.:( You need to look after your customers from the other end of Tassie or update your web site so we can buy on line. One very disappointed little girl :(

Purchased a canvas print today, very poor service, while I was organising the print, the sales assistant dropped an F bomb while having a discussion with another person standing next to me, was given no details regarding when the print would arrive or how I would be notified, didn't asked as she clearly wasn't giving any customer service, rang the store to fine out, needed to ring three times to speak to someone second time I was hung up on,, very disappointed. I can understand as I know some employee's are not valued by management, this is the result of management not giving enough value to customer service staff.

Shoes are good and generally its good service. But there is a nasty old lady who works here who doesn't know how to speak and got ego issues. Once as i was walking to one of the trial room cubicles and this lady asked me if i can speak. When i asked what she meant by that she said i did not say hello upon seeing her and did not ask her if i can use a cubicle. What a joke. The problem with good stores like this one is that they employ some frustrated cheap staff who are rude to customers. They drive away customers and do no good to business. Ofcourse they get what they pay for.

Just like there is many styles of EFTPOS machines here we have self service Big W style. Which ever way you present it, it is still clunky noisy and on Sunday morning the final disappointment in trying to pay & leave the store. Luckily it was quiet and the soulless robot supervisor observed my rat caught in a maze dissatisfaction and put me through the sales process with a nice exchange. There is that option at Big W and that is a nice way to finish the trip there.

Honestly disappointing, from ordering online and being told everything was instock, then to get a message that pretty much none of it was and id need to wait for a giftcard to be sent out. Drove an hour just to collect what they had and drove home just to undo a camp kitchen setup and find that it was broken and dirty. 100% a returned item that wasn't checked collectly before resale. Can't even call thought as no one knows how to answer the phone.

Fast, friendly and efficient service. You can usually find someone to help , when you need in the areas... if not, they always have a lovely person at the entrance, that is more than happy to assist you with a smile and direct you to the area required, or all someone for you. Great parking underneath, easy to duck in quickly up the escalators and be on your way, if your in a rush. Particularly handy with children and when raining ☔️

Woolworths Tasmania...these are not free range eggs...false advertising het teal and get your food labeling right...stop your lies...people have food allergies ^ sensitiveities...people could die due to your lies and deception....then you would have less customers...it's a no brainer...line your pockets fot a short term ... or be honest about your food!....sock of being sick from eating Woolworths false advertised food...

I bought my niece a birthday present from Big W in Glenorchy on Sunday the 19th. I was appalled that they had no registers open & the line up for the self check out was 10 deep. I stood in front of one of the registers & one worker decided to open it. I said about time you opened up a register. The lady replied that we don’t have the staff. What a joke not being properly staffed especially this close to Christmas.

The staff are very friendly, called up before hand about a luggage still under warranty and they emailed my invoice as I ordered it online and I could get refund upon showing the proof of purchase. We like Big W and hope it continues serving the community with a variety of great products at the best prices! Special mention to Filly in their call centre who answered my call and helped with my issue!

This place is somewhere between bizarre world and the twilight Zone. The interior is dull and the lighting is very poor, I thought that I was in a store from 1986 and the interior is a testament to the dated interior. Luckily I was only there for a brief period of time, but this particular store is in desperate need of modernisation. Thanks for letting me do the time walk again.

The worst experience ever tonight at bigw we waited 1 hour for our layby to be brought to us then for them to say they have lost a bag of stuff. Then we get pulled up at the entrance to say that I need prove of what I had on layby as it Didn't match clearly as they had lost someone of the stuff Will never shop at BIgW Again poor service all round

Big W Glenorchy is not bad! The smell going up to it is a different thing all together. But the store it self is pretty messy. Somethings are not in the right place and sometimes there is no stock at all. The staff is what save this store. Without them the store would fall over quickly. They are more then happy to help.

Im appauled at the lack of service in party section this is the second time i came here theres been no service at all i ended up buying my balloon didn't get it blown up because the woman rolled her eyes at previous customers she wasnt incharge of panties. But someone else needs to learn the party section its ridiculous

Easy to access plenty of variety though the Birthday, anniversary etc card section could do with a bit more uniformity, gave up looking as cards seemed to be all over the place and not well signed as to who they were for, friends, daughter etc. so me and another lady that was looking ended up going to the paper shop.

After hassles with security tags in April(no alarms) & no-one on coast able to remove, so postage, apology & bit extra In Hobart again this week to get back up coast to find more tags, no alarm went off at exit, so here we go again Multiple of same things but not all tagged We did check some

Worst service at SERVICE COUNTER. Petrina yelled at me, Laura 2ic was a cow. John the Manger was hopeless and didn't get back to me twice when he said he would. Big W Glenorchy management skills need a HUGE IMPROVEMENT!!! Kind and respectful lady in changerooms she gets a GOLD STAR!!

The selection is quite nice in Big W, it's a shame that when I approached the front desk for a quick word about donations to charity I wasn't even given the time of day and wouldn't even answer my questions. All we wanted was a small donation for sick kids, good job Big W.

Good, clean and friendly staff, had what I was looking for...a fitted black work skirt. Bit disappointed the dinner set I really wanted was on display, but no stock. Same goes for the dog beds I wanted. However doggos got awesome bandanas and new winter jackets!!

Typical Big W store, renovations completed on front checkout area, could shop here without human interaction if you wanted or knew where items was, the only staff to talk to you would be the friendly, cheerful door greeter. Clean store. Always fine a bargain or two.

Annoying when you get to the checkout & find there is no tag or sticker with price or barcode. Then you are held up for ten minutes while staff sort it out. Damaged stock on shelves. Not enough staff, however they are friendly & helpful when you can find one.

I found the Service lady at the back of the Big W Store in Glenorchy very rude as i wanted to return a pair of pants they were the wrong size and i wanted a refund. She was not very happy and her tone was unfriendly and it was not a pleasant experience. Sara

This place is stocked with plenty of items, sometimes cheaper than expected. I buy my scales here because its hard to find scales in other places for whatever reason. I have not encountered any problems with the staff so that's good.

It stinks there. When I say that, I mean it literally smells like an old persons home. I know this because I used to work at one. I was looking for a shirt but couldn't tolerate it anymore had to leave because it was so bad.

The W was not big enough. Too not as nice as kmart but sure did buy that picture frame. Bit too much plastic packaging. The security guard is always nice and I ate a buritto while I looked at phones.

All new lay out. Bright open check outs. Plenty of self service checkouts. I went in when they had big sales. Especially the fishing section. I Love that they do Afterpay and fast click and collect.

Great morning staff. They don't have the right temperature in store. Winter it's too cold and spring it's too cold, summer it's too hot. They don't change the temperature accordingly to the weather.

Good range, not bad prices, would help if staff new what you were talking about when you give t g em a name of an item such as tarpailin, instead of looking at you with utter blank on their face.

It's a Big W. Easy access. Easy parking. Escalator from car park to the entrance. Plenty of stock. Wide selection. Garden section with plants. Friendly staff who were super helpful.

The store is well lit and easy to navigate. Staff are friendly and helpful if asked for help. The movement of the returns desk to the back of the store is not a good move though!

Usually have PS4 games on special or discounted. Good place to get bulk dog food slabs. Undercover parking that easy to access and use. Staff are always really nice and helpful.

Good quality and selection of products, if there is something you can't find on the shelves the staff will go above and beyond to help find the products you are looking for.
