First and last time I'll purchase furniture products from Harvey Norman based on my experience. This is also the first time I've ever felt compelled to leave a one-star review for a business. I would have thought that a $3,000+ investment in a lounge would indicate a reasonable level of quality/durability, but apparently I should accept that sticky spotting on the back and sides of my lounge was the result of being exposed to the environment of a normal lounge room in Tasmania and not a problem with the durability of the product or a defect. It's also worth noting that previous leather couches (not purchased from HN) have been situated in the same room and therefore exposed to the same environment without any deterioration. When it was raised that I was unsatisfied with the outcome of the assessment of my issue, the employee hardly provided me with an opportunity to speak, talked over me, was dismissive of the reasonable observations/points, and demonstrated no empathic communication skills whatsoever. When I complained about the conduct of this employee and asked for this to be escalated to a department manager, I was advised that this staff member was in fact the Proprietor of the Furniture Department and no remorse/explanation/apology was extended - so I guess that's that! It's also worth noting that the supplier initially denied liability due to the fact that '5 other couches were sold and there was no evidence of leather fault complaints from that production line.' This is fairly concerning in itself, as it is evident that if you're the first to raise a fault/issue with a product then your claim will be denied. Based on that logic, there will never be any evidence of leather fault complaints for the supplier to take into consideration if the supplier automatically disqualifies claims against their product in the first instance. Disappointed is an understatement.

The delivery people were extremely rude and I’ll-mannered during the delivery. When we bought the goods from Harvey Norman, they told us that the washing machine will be installed by the delivery people. Therefore, we were with the impression that the delivery people will install the washing machine and remove the refrigerator cover and so on. However, after delivering the goods, we asked the delivery person if he was going to help us install it. He lashed out immediately and swore at us, shouted at us and said that we should pay for premium delivery.! We said we didnt know about it but happy to pay. Regardless, he got extremely violent and started tearing the packaging of the washing machine throwing things around. While he was aggressively trying to remove the bottom foam package of the washing machine he hit the wall with the machine making a big hole on the wall. He then aggressively pulled the pipes of the machine which ended up being damaged. He was so violent and did not listen or wanted to discuss with us at all. If he was not happy to do the installation, he could have refused however he decided to aggressively remove the packaging and bang the new washing machine around creating several damages and swearing and shouting at us. We bought goods that are several thousands worth and another few dollars wouldn’t have mattered if we were told about it clearly. Even if not, this is not the way to deal with customers. He was swearing and stating that he has to work on Saturday and so on.! We had a good customer service at the store, however the behaviour of the deliver personal was extremely disgusting & caused property damage. We need the hole in the wall to be repaired. Please let us know who is responsible for that.

I am giving a five star review for the amazing customer service I received from DEAN in the technology department yesterday. I was wanting to buy a gaming computer and I had done a bit of research, but I really had no idea still, all I knew was what I needed it to do. Before I went into the store I was unsure, confused with all of the tech talk that was over my head, but Dean did not rush me, he took the time to make sure that I understood everything that I needed to, in order to make such a huge purchase. Dean asked me lots of questions and established exactly what it was that I was looking for, very quickly. He then showed me a number of options available to me that would suit my needs. Dean was so patient and took the time to explain to me the things that I didn't understand. Harvey Norman was the first place that I went, and after this experience, I knew that I did not have to shop around to get the best deal. I feel so excited with my purchase! Thank you so much Dean, for a great shopping experience at Harvey Norman Cambridge Park!

We had an issue with our internet coverage throughout our home and visited the Cambridge Park store. We were fortunate enough to be served by Sam who was very knowledgeable in the products he sold. He assured us the product needed to rectify our problem was a home mesh system which we subsequently purchased. Whilst we were there Sam also gave us tips on setting it up. However, at home the install/setup didn't go as planned ... a call to Sam had it sorted over the phone. We now have full coverage. It's so satisfying to be served by people who know the products they sell and can give their support when things don't go as planned. Thank you Sam for taking the time to help us. Such a bonus in this day and age to have someone like Sam who is willing to go above and beyond to make we the customers very happy!

Worst customer service ever, Gave a us a kind koil mattress it was the worst mattress ever. They said many things about the mattress but nothing was in it. It took around two months to take our money back and had to call all around Harvey Norman head office. One more thing when we were talking to the person in mattress one lady from furniture side is shouting at us saying it take least month to take use to the mattress, that was Really bad customer service. Probably they need to learn what customer service. We got a koala new gen mattress and its amazing it got firm medium in one mattress. Harvey Norman Cambridge is the Worst place to buy anything. Before buy something do homework if not it will be a waste of your time and money.

Value for money. Pleasant enclosed(clear) barge top. Small area so would avoid sit down eat if busy (due to potential covid risk) we had crumbed fish with chips and salad.(I asked if they would grill but was declined) Good quality food .Especially the salad which had been thoughtfully curated with the addition of mint and fruit. Asked for no chips but did not receive discount, instead got more salad. Not sure how I felt about that. However the chef listened when asked for tomato sauce as well as tartare sauce for my child. Food provided in timely manner. Great selection of cakes also so something for everyone. Would recommend for eating in or takeaway. Lots of options along waterfront for eating takeaway.

DO NOT BUY kitchen appliances from Harvey Norman. And especially DO NOT buy from Anthony at Harvey Norman Cambridge. Do yourself a favour and go to Appliances Online or literally anywhere else. My family were long term customers but not any more. Update: Thanks Sharmaine - but clearly Harvey Norman’s franchised store specialists are NOT all committed to providing a high standard of customer service. It shouldn’t take public Google reviews to elicit a customer service response. Surely our efforts to deal directly with the store in the first instance should have resolved the issue. Sure, I’ll lodge a complaint and hope for a response from Harvey Norman that isn’t completely disingenuous.

I have to say that Kathy in your photo hub at Cambridge Park Tasmania is most helpful, patient, friendly and she goes out of her way to help all the customers who need help with the photo machines. I feel she is an asset to your business and I would like her to be recognised as such - after all the self serve businesses now it is so refreshing to have that one on one service - having said that all the staff in this shop are excellent but I think that Kathy holds a very demanding position with most customers needing her advice.

Amazing staff. After a bad experience at another store the staff here are unbelievable. I can not recommend the tech guys highly enough. Alex, Toby, Jacob and Sam are helpful, friendly and honest. They actually provide service and have the customers' best interests at heart. They are an absolute credit to the organisation. There are a number of franchise operations under the one roof, and we have made purchases from virtually all. We don't live close, but the trip here is well worth it.

5 stars for the delivery guys. We had an issue with a XL large fridge freezer that needed to be replaced under warranty. An extremely difficult 2 story lift up stairs with a bend half way up. The 4 men that came out were fantastic. They took their time to make sure it could be done safely, successfully and to limit any possible damage. They treated the appliance and my home like it was their own. Highly professional team & I'm extremely grateful for their patience, time and experience.

Disgraceful aftersales service!!!!!! We bought a couch (that is not cheap) and had a concern about it. The proprietor herself came back to us rudely and dismissively. Looks like she doesnt want to find a better solution to the problem, instead she just blamed it on us and made a lot of assumptions. They are happy to take your money but you will never get a fair aftersales service. Congratulations on single-handedly losing mutliple advocates of your brand!

Pleasantly surprised by friendly non-pushy staff in both the bedding and furniture areas. We ended up buy a whole bunch of stuff from Harvey Norman and we're happy with the items and the service. One minor thing is we had to pay delivery on some outdoor furniture we bought and it couldn't be delivered in the same order as our bed, but that minor inconvenience aside, we'll come back to Harvey Norman in future.

Nice big store with a wide range of goods. Maybe not the cheapest but I like that they generally have stock onsite so your not waiting days for your high priced item. Sales reps are polite and helpful but can be in your face as soon as you walk in the door. On one occasion, I said "I'm fine thanks, I'm just looking" 5 times. So if you struggle with anxiety etc just a heads up.

We were very disappointed with the sales team. Intended on buying an outdoor setting, found an aluminium and wood table we loved, it was extendible. Perfect.... We could not buy the table unless we bought 8 plastic chairs. They did not belong to the set, and the table sat 12 when extended. And no there were no matching chairs available. Come on Harvey Norman.!!!

Uber-friendly service from the staff every time I come. This time round I picked the brains of the friendliest appliance-chick imaginable. Not only did she point me in the direction of the best air-fryer for our requirements, but she knocked a few dollars off as well. These guys will do deals even if the item you want to buy is on a catalogue sale - just ask.

Surprisingly good service for a larger chain store. Rod was honest and straightforward and helped us get what we were looking for with minimal fuss. Perhaps this is more a review of Rod than the store, but hopefully you know who to ask for now in the electronics/computers area now.

KATHY IS the photo centre!!! She had been printing beautiful photos for me since my kids were born, they're teenagers now. Every time she is absolutely intuitively amazing with her customer service and attention to detail. Thankyou so much Kathy, it's very much appreciated!!

An inexperienced and clearly incompetent salesman sold my elderly grandmother two of the same product, knowing that it was not necessary. When I bought this up I was treated like I was stupid and looked down upon by a group of ugly middle aged men with obvious god complexes.

Four bedding outlits at Cambridge and best deal was with Bunnings. Same bed as outlet next door but $1000 cheaper including delivery, set up and old bed removed. Tamara was very helpful and made the transaction very pleasant.

Customer service in the furniture department is non existent. I just went in to purchase a new lounge suite. After 30 mins of walking around and being offered no assistance at all I'll be shopping elsewhere
