Was greeted at the door by a militant staff member who insisted on checking my phone to prove I had done my covid check-in (even though I had told her I had done this 2m in front of her). Then I walked through the store to find the escalator up to first floor was not working. Had to wait several times for the one elevator to be empty enough for me to travel ( social distancing). Got to toy section to find it had reduced drastically in size and range since I last visited. Did some searching, didn't have what I was after. Went to the games section to get a Nintendo switch game, but couldn't find it. Then I couldn't find any staff members to ask for assistance. I gave up on the game purchase and decided to look for a long sleeve casual shirt. Eventally found the menswear section (which is tiny compared to women's and kids areas). All i could find was xs,s,m,4xl,5xl sizes. At this point i just gave up on the whole experience, and went to shop at JB Hifi...

The staff was so rude and didn’t even ask someone to help me out on checkout. He ask one lady to call someone and she said they don’t have any who helps. It’s happening again and again from last couple times. I only asked for redeem my flybuys dollars on checkout. First time I had balance on scanning thing and they said bring the flybuys card and transfer balance to it and then will make it redeem. I did that. Now today I have asked him again to redeem flybuys dollars from card then he said I don’t know how to do it and on top he said you don’t have balance on my card. I have showed him proof that I have $30 On card and still he was denying it. Such bad way to deal with customer. Checkout staff was rude and had no idea on how to work on system. Even my brother is employee in Kmart and asked to scan his membership card, he said we don’t accept it.

Unfriendly staff. I asked where the lift was and the reply was a condescending “it’s on the red wall with a sign saying lift” I also tried on 2 items, I gave the staff 1 item that I wouldn’t purchase. This is something done in most stores. The staff talked among themselves saying to the other “can you return this stuff as the customer doesn’t have time to do it themselves” Most of us have things we don’t like about our jobs, but I think staff shouldn’t have to make customers feel that they are such an inconvenience! Honestly, if I didn’t have a toddler with a tantrum I’d do it myself.

This review is based solely on appalling telephone customer service - not the store, which is fine. I have just been subjected to what can only be described as noise pollution - for 11 minutes and 18 seconds I was on hold for customer service. I was subjected to a non stop repeat promotion for the online catalogue, interspersed with the "we'll be with you shortly" fiction. Finally the recorded message told me there were problems with their phones and requested me to ring back . Beyond hopeless - and definitely not good for the stress levels.

Oct 2022: Still not as good as Kmart, but great to have a budget convenience store in the city centre. ⭐⭐⭐ Dec 2021. If you live for disposable fast fashion and homewares, then this is the place for you! I'm unsure if Target have become cooler, by stocking brands such as Zoo York, Zanerobe and Mossimo, or if these brands are no longer cool. Either way, I'm not a huge fan of the brand's, so there's loads more for you I'd that's your thing. Happy Shopping.

Would have given no stars if I could have we were looking in the women’s section and the staff member there was extremely rude and sour faced fairly sure if she smiled her face would have cracked.. made me feel so uncomfortable we left the store without purchasing the items I was going to buy.. so you lost at least $100 sale. Won’t be back there are other places I would rather spend my money

Hobart Target is not a bad place but stock isn't there & customer service alternates between good & not so good but overall a good experience Glenorchy on the other hand-abysmal -I called to ask about a vase twice I was disconnected & the 3rd time I was transferred back to where I began I think I'll give it a big F for FAILURE It ain't rocket science

The staff get a big tick for being friendly, but the lack of staff and inability to try clothes before making a commitment gets a big, big no from me. There are enough other stores around that have excellent customer service and quality product at competitive prices. I hope I'll see some of Target's floor staff at those stores. They deserve better.

I was trying to find a worker to help and I walked around the Manchester area looking for help, a young man was on the phone talking to a client, I walked near him for and I got his attention after 2_3 minutes but he still talked and I didn't find any one else so I left after around 5minutes with another potential customer. No service...

Look, Target is great for affordable clothing, accessories and homewares. But, unlike most of the Targets on the mainland, the Hobart Target still looks like 1997. There is no other way to describe it other than grey. Perhaps drab is also a good adjective. I like the stuff they sell, but going to that shop makes me depressed.

The staff lady at the door was fabulous. Security made no attempt to hide following me to the bedding section and standing right there watching me the entire time while I picked bedding until I left to pay. Thankyou Mr security man I felt like a special guest in the store I hope everyone gets the same treatment …

Although they do have most items in stock, i would say 1/3rd of the time, stuff needs to be returned or replaced due to being broken or faulty. Kudos to the staff for hassle free returns and replacements but still, not pleased to drive all the way to return something worth a few dollars.

Target in Hobart City...selling all men's women's and children's clothing and shoes. Department store with all bedding towels quilt's plus kitchenware and bathroom...for personal they have all name brands of cosmetics and perfumes. Very well laid out, lovely staff and so nice and clean.

I have just spoken to Patrick, for the second time in 1 week, and l am so pleased with the outcome of our conversation. He provided excellent customer service, going above and beyond, to help me out with a product l desperately wanted. Patrick, you are an asset to the company.

  • Toyah Sansum

Please explain why you're so far from parking and yet, do not provide your customers with trolley's. I did a click and collect order without realising how useless the store as a whole is, leaving me trekking backwards and forwards to my car 3 times. Do better.

Target Hobart is a decent store! It has a lot and there are escalators to get up to the second level but the lift was out of service. Large range of items which is good but I never really see a lot of bras in my size. The staff are always friendly!

  • Ron Roach

They dont cater for big mens clothes they did about 6 years ago and they have gone backwards since then. My wife and myself would purchase goods on a weekly basis then but now lucky if we make a purchase in 3 months they need to lift there game.

  • Lois Stanbridge

Loved it! I wanted to buy something for my niece's baby soon to be born. The range was very large and the prices low! I came out with some gorgeous baby clothes and a couple of tops for myself and some for a friend too. Organic cotton! So soft.

  • Leigh Wolf

Now that they have finished the revamp of the Hobart store it has become inline with the Mainland stores. It is one of the best Target stores in Tasmania. The staff are friendly and approachable which is what you want in a department store.

  • Michele osmond (Michele)

I was so surprised at the quality of the bedding products for winter at Target. They were good quality, the price was reasonable, and I was very happy with my purchases. The home ware section was soon good.

  • Ash

This Target seems to have less stock and room than those in Victoria, but it still provides all the essential clothes / appliances etc that you would need. The technology section is quite bare though.

  • Anita B

Would have been 5 star but parking guy booked us when only 4 mins late back to our car. Being an obvious rental camper van thought he would give us a couple minutes grace but apparently not in Hobart.

  • Alexander Quin

It's okay but everything is all over the place and it's so hard to find help from the staff. Prices aren't the most reasonable, often costing more for the same products from other department stores

  • Kirsten

Over the phone / interstate experience and Target Hobart staff have been very much more helpful than the poor guys on the mainland 1300 customer service line. A big vote of thanks from me.

  • Linda Cooper

So sad the Glenorchy store is closing in January! Will be badly missed, and leave a big gap in Northgate shopping centre! Not happy to have to go into the city for Target shopping! …

  • Jennifer Smith

Great shop, very organised and spaced out, big isles, toilets upstairs, mostly flat access. Clothing for the whole family, good quality and priced reasonably.Staff polite and helpful.

  • senzyu

Supports pride products, so I will boycott shopping here any longer. Educate yourself on John Money and the DSD. And If you still agree with 'pride' you deserve to be boycotted.

  • Monty Marston - Harwood

It's very clean i have never bought anything from here but it's great if you want to walk through and feel like your shopping instead of doing it the staff are nice.

  • Ebony Booth

Love this target for many reasons. Convenience is definitely up there, staff are amazing and understanding, the opening hours are a bonus and easy to find things.

  • Bek E

Has everything you need clothes, kitchen appliances, doonas, doonas covers, toys for kids. Hair accessories and bathroom stuff. Brand lablel clothes and way more

  • Mimi

Good place to buy cheap winter thermals, petite clothes and layering items on sale. I picked up a ceramic toothbrush holder down to $2 and it's serving me well.

  • Sharni Duggan

My favorite place to buy clothes, its usually good quality and not too pricey. Its fairly clean, the staff are nice and they have some good sales sometimes.

  • James Constantine

Thank God Target is in town! With so many retailers leaving the CBD in droves! An affordable store is what we need to support in this two bit town!

  • Sophie Lowry

excellent staff ! a girl named Heidi helped me find what I was looking for with excellent and bubbly attitude. will def be returning soon

  • Jorja Doram

Really nice store with a large selection and low prices. However I find it quite easy to get lost in and I can't find much order to it

  • Sheree Castle

Not great. Checked stock online which stated items where in stock, drove 45mins to be told they don't have any of the items …

  • Helen Souter

Be helpful if girl greeting people at the main door explained rear entrance into Cat & Fiddle is closed! Even a sign would help.

  • Jennifer P.

Good for socks and underwear but womens plus size range is extremely limited compared to what is available with Target online.

  • Charlotte Perrin

Love the range of clothing here, although lately the teen brands haven't been as great. Got some nice work pants on clearance

  • Harry Lim

Selling clothing ,fashion accessories and many other items. Prices are fairly reasonable and clearance product are good buy.

  • Kaz Hinds

What's not to love about Target. Well priced, quality clothing. Something for everyone. Think twice before you buy on loan.

  • Adam Frazer

Lots of stuff. Understaffed. Don't feel valued as a customer, as they have people attempting to check bags at the door.

  • Rooftop Escape campers

  • Kay

Friendly staff. The guy who assisted me today was very nice and helpful. The mini massager I bought is handy.

  • Jack Kieu

This place has the worst customer service. Very Rude. 1 star is oviously too high for them. Merry Christmas.

  • R H

Good product range and genuine discounts. It is still very quiet due to post Covid downturn in the CBD.

  • Stuart UnMcKleaine

Good items at good prices. I'm on the larger side of 2xl so was happy with their big men's department.

  • Tejaswini Nanaware
