"Originally I just thought the prices we're a little high until this happened to me!! I am absolutely furious with Cex they have scammed me out of my money! So a few weeks ago at CeX I purchase Google Pixel 5, which is so far perfect, and a pair of Google Pixel Buds A-Series, which are currently broken! So I bought the buds in working order for £75 in what CeX claimed was A grade"
"I am so upset about how this store has acted in my dealings with them"
"Took a Nintendo Switch in - Fully Boxed, used 4 times and brought in with each piece still in the plastic wrappers"
"I would give zero stars if possible"
"Did a Drop n Go order 5 days ago, have had 2 voicemails using a blocked number “unknown caller” but you can’t hear the message, as they have poor signal on the line they are using, I’ve had no payment, tried emailing but the number on the site on maps is just a general phone number and a number that doesn’t work, won’t be using service again at this rate, has gone down hill, they have my email and normally get email saying it’s gone through testing the earphones I dropped off, not impressed"
Originally I just thought the prices we're a little high until this happened to me!! I am absolutely furious with Cex they have scammed me out of my money! So a few weeks ago at CeX I purchase Google Pixel 5, which is so far perfect, and a pair of Google Pixel Buds A-Series, which are currently broken! So I bought the buds in working order for £75 in what CeX claimed was A grade. Once I got home I put the earbuds in and was listening music. Once I was done I removed both earbuds, the left one with no issue, but as I was removing the right one the wing tip that holds it in my ear completely snapped off. This leads me to believe that there was a slight tear in the wingtip of the right earbud that I hadn't noticed before purchasing. I also assume CeX hadn't noticed when they bought them off the previous owner since they rated them grade A. So the next day I went into store and explained to a woman what had happened. She said she'd have to ask her manager if she could process the refund and he refused it since they sold them as a grade A product. They did however tell me to contact them through the email form on their website and they should be able to help. This annoyed me a bit but once I was at home I wrote a polite message using the form on the CeX website explaining the situation and asking for my refund. The next day I received an email from CeX telling me it would still be classed as accidental damage. I then replayed explaining that the wingtip snapped off just from me removing it from my ear therefore it's not my fault so I should still be entitled to my refund. The women then wrote an email back to me saying ok 'I understand the damage was not caused at your end'. She said she will contact the store I purchased them from and get back to me within 24-48 hours. When she got back to me she said once again it would still be classed as accidental damage even though she said in her previous email she understood that the damage wasn’t caused at my end!!??? Makes no sense at all!! I have had several back and forth emails with her since and her every time telling me it would still be classed as accidental damage. I need my money back this isn't fare and isn't right. It's wrong that this has happened to me and I want my money back. Really, really unhappy!
I am so upset about how this store has acted in my dealings with them. On Monday morning I went in to trade in some tech and games with CEX in which I was told specifically that I could either wait the hour for the tests to be done or have a phonecall and bank transfer if they had been successful in the tests. I asked would I know by the end of the day and their response was "If you dont hear from us by the end of the day it means your items had passed the test and money would be in your account the next day" I received no phonecall from them on Monday or Tuesday and had no funds put into my account. I have just been in the store now and the woman was very friendly and apologetic but I was still very upset that no funds or calls had been made. When she pulled up my items she said all the items had failed the tests they had done with some of the damages being news to me after I had tested them before taking them down. When I asked when would I have received a phonecall about my tech she said that they were understaffed and couldn't tell me when they would of made a phonecall but on their terms if I hadn't had a phone call after some time they would've got rid of my tech. If they were understaffed then why didn't they tell me that on Monday and if they couldn't guarantee that I would receive a phonecall then why tell me that they could? Really upset by this whole thing as I am now very skeptical over what they actually do on the tests as I have said before I tested them to make sure they were working and just in general their honesty to their customers. Very disappointed.
Took a Nintendo Switch in - Fully Boxed, used 4 times and brought in with each piece still in the plastic wrappers. Get told when I arrive that without the "wrist straps" its classed as unboxed and ill get less. I couldnt be bothered going into town the next day so I accepted, they had no cash so I also accepted bank transfer. 5PM that evening I get a call to tell me that its going to be classed as unboxed (How? with everything brand new) and that it will be less money. I told them id be in the next day but id prefer cash rather than waiting another two days for bank transfer. I went to the store the next day with the wrist straps to be told they didnt have the cash in. Ended up getting half of it in Scottish notes. Make sure you check everything before you go down and they will try get the lowest price out of you for any tiny reason.
I would give zero stars if possible. I went in to sell an old iPhone, unfortunately it had a dent in the back so they couldn't accept it. This, however, was not the problem. The way in which the 'manager' spoke to me was disgraceful and insulting. I say 'manager' because I still can't believe this bloke works in customer service. A simple explanation of their policy and why they couldn't accept it would have done, he practically threw it back at me, turned his back on me then continued to ignore me when I was trying to ask for some clarification. Manners cost nothing this guy was rude. I feel sorry for his staff. I got £50 for it somewhere else and have other phones to sell... I will not be going here.

Took my son's laptop to drop and go/ Sell and the lady created a cex account and password across the counter without telling me and now we are locked out of our own laptop!! That isn't just it, she also wanted me to sell them the laptop apple mac pro 15 as another version that was much cheaper! No thanks i said. I'm gonna make a formal complaint since she had no right creating a CEX acount with password on our laptop locking us access!! Seriously!
Excellent place. Lots of variety, great deals on Gamecube games. Found many great Gamecube games here like Resident Evil 1, 2 and 4, The Simpsons Hit and Run, Shrek 2, Wave Race and many more. I've even found a pair of original DK bongos here. The staff are friendly and helpful. The prices are always reasonable, especially compared to what you can find on ebay these days. Overall great place, and I will be visiting more often.
Lovley people who work there I have never had a problem with them personally BUT my HUGE niggle is that they are entrusting and dont let you check DVDs Games CDs without them holding it and I like to check thourgly if they have no scratches on. PRICES INSANE for SECOND HAND goods though you can get them new for the price they charge on devices and some of the PS4 games. Most of the PS4 games dont have the codes either
Sold a ps2 in here, got told they would bank transfer me the money as it was busy which was fine, just everything they needed me to do in order to receive my money for it, got a receipt for it saying £0 and have not received anything into my bank…. In a way I got scammed and I will not be selling or buying anything from this cex again
Go here to swap my xbox one games, they always give you a good deal for your games. Only problem is at times they don't have a big range of games in store but you can use any voucher you get in there online store. Also a much better shop than Game which is extortionate and they always give you the lowest prices for your old games.
I was buying some second hand games - one of the employees behind the counter was busy working on something while another employee was playing video games on the TV behind the counter so I ended up waiting ages to be served. But other than that good store
Small, has a bit of everything, so phones, dvd, games, computer bits ( not a motherboard, they don't do those, non of them do ), game bits ( controllers, switch, Gameboy ), console bits ( controller, headsets, accessories.
Every CEX I go to there is the same consistency of great and friendly service. Managed to find a movie I was really looking for. Also very pleased with what I got in exchange for two items. Nice one once again
Staff are really nice. However I bought a game from there that was in awful condition for £30. Covered in deep muck and dust. Very deep scratches too. Spend 7 hours installing it for it not to work!
Extremely helpful member of staff helped me with smartphone queries for over 30 minutes, after which I didn't actually buy anything! Great Branch if you want good service.
Small store but it's decent and the staff know what they are talking about. Weather it's computers or computer parts, phones, games, Blu-ray's they are very helpful.
I've had some problem with other CeX stores, but the one in Liverpool Central, they're always friendly, nice and helpful. Great service, will go here again.
Always great service. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the stuff theyre selling and wont pressure you into buying something you dont need.
Great shop helpful staff. Bought a game for my Son wasn't sure of name explained story to staff and knew it straight away. Good returns policy too.
Usually pretty good but this particular shop sold a game to my partner and friend which couldn’t be read by the console so it’s un playable
Great place! Nice and small with polite staff and you can't keep your eye when you walk past because it is eye catching! You can't miss it!
I go into the shops everytime I go into town and I always come back with at least two or three Blu-ray videos never out of the place
Absolutely mind bogglingly exciting. The best experience I've ever had. And that was only the staff!! 10/10 would recommend!
Best prices for cash or voucher on dvd games and electrical goods. Great company and a chunk of their take goes to charity
Never had a bad experience, always quick helpful and friendly. Great for grabbing a bargain on the way home.
Great for video games and 2nd hand console laptop and smart phones the staff are very helpful …
Great deal, I bought a phone for £50, had it a few weeks and they bought it for £40. Great deal :)
Some staff have no manners and they abit rude and unhelpful and they should be helpful and polite
I love cex they have a great selection of movies there especially ones you can't find anymore
Excellent store, however a lot of people in the store even though a Pandemic is going on.
2 stars as it had the Blue Ray my son wanted. However, it smelled of B. O. and Pee.
Good friendly service and great price for your goods and great value on other items
Amazing selection of games, movies and phones. Get rid of your unwanted kit here.
