I've been to this location many times and typically only come for the hundred layer donuts but tried a cookie today. The 100 layer donut is heaven. I prefer the vanilla dream while my husband is a fan of the purist. I'd say we've never had one we haven't liked, but there was a lemon one I wasn't a fan of simply because it was way too sour of a powder, so I avoid the ones with the citrus powder. The cookies are tasty too! I'm indifferent on the London Fog as the lavender is hit or miss. One bite it tastes good while another bite is too strong. I'll have to try a different flavor to know if I'm getting cookies and cronuts or just cronuts in the future. The staff are typically always friendly, but occasionally you get someone who doesn't wanna be working. Either way, the donuts are worth risking for the occasional staff member. Parking is usually hit or miss. Sometimes it's wide open and sometimes you're parking in the gravel parking lot. Depends on the time and day.
I wana start by saying it was late and the staff were sweet, and this 1 star is for you ladies! The donuts were also sweet..really really sweet......way too sweet to be considered gourmet. They were soooo tough as we tore off ragged bites. The gluten free lemon was absolutely horrible; it was like bland dog kibble that had been soaked in water and formed into a little wet spongey ring and the icing could not save it. The level of flacid bacon fat and cloying sweet icing on the King Kong made me a little nauseous for a second. We paid $27 for bites of regret. Who eats this and thinks it even worth 2 stars? Yuk! Don't get me started about the dry little strawberry number with it's metallic, medicinal aftertaste... good lord. It was a total disaster.
I took a little trip to East Nashville this week and tried out Five Daughters Bakery for the second time. I'll admit the first time I tried FDB I wasn't impressed. This was back in 2019. But I'm not a one and done kinda person when it comes to food I'll always give a restaurant another shot. This time I was thoroughly impressed. I got the Vanilla Cream, Maple Glaze, Strawberry Lemon Shortcake and Chocolate Sea Salt. The chocolate sea salt was my favorite! I didn't really taste "sea salt" but I love chocolate. It was so good. The maple glaze was my least favorite. It tasted like a regular donut to me but besides that I'll definitely be going back! Follow me on IG for more food reviews: @greasythoughtz
So I think we all know that five daughters is a Nashville and Franklin staple but what you may not know is just how deliciously seasonal their pumpkin cream cheese donut is..and you better get it now before it's no longer PSL season. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect from this goodness until I bit into it and discovered there was some additional cream filling inside, it was a delightful surprise. So essentially you have a lot of cream fillings with a donut chaser and that is fine by me and in my book. I would easily go back for two or ten..top it off with a coffee and walk around Shelby Bottoms and you're good to go!
Went at 7:30pm on a Saturday and the shop was already closed when they advertise that they are open until 10 and the employees inside wouldn’t even look at us, there was no posting on social media or anything about them closing early. If they are only open until they run out that needs to be posted in the open times and they need to post on social media if a particular location does close. Saw multiple people come and be disappointed in the couple minutes we were standing there. It feels that they don’t care that they are wasting customers time if they can’t even be bothered to post it on social media.
I came here for my fiance's bday breakfast as a surprise for her. The surprise was on us. The donuts were awesome I brought about 5 different ones to get a good sample, we ate them all weekend long. I also got two breakfast sandwiches which were nasty we couldn't finish them nothing at all was edible the egg was stale a taste like powered eggs, and the bread was harder than a rock. Those sandwiches were a mistake I can only make once especially at that price point. I'll be back for a donut but I'm not sure how soon still trying to wash the taste(or Lack of) the sandwich or of my mouth.
If their prices were a little lower I could have given them 5☆. $30 for 4 doughnuts and a half dozen holes. The dough is dense but lite. Not sure how they achieved that. Boston Cream: The Cream is sweet, dough is soft but dense, the chocolate is semi sweet and dark. Together it's really good. I wouldn't want the chocolate alone. Too bitter. Puritan: Same soft dough, but really sweet. Goes perfect with a unsweetened coffee. Makes the perfect sinker. Pros: several locations, good selection, portion sizes are pretty big, clean, friendly staff. Cons: Price, chocolate is a little too dark.
I’ve lived in Nashville for six years and this was my first time at Five Daughters (ik, smh) let me tell you i have SERIOUSLY been missing out. I have never been much of a doughnut person, but these were to die for!!!!! This is one of my favorite areas of town in East Nashville. There is a cute grassy and patio area outside and there are often kids and dog running around enjoying themselves. Parking was easily accessible. Staff was friendly and helpful and informative in making doughnut selections. They are delicious and very rich!
Wowww... I've been to Five Daughters Bakery in Atlanta but this house is the cutest!!! I love how it has a kids' section for families to enjoy their donuts together while the kids run around on their sugar high- great thinking!! The picnic tables and lights that are strung make the place even cozier! The whole concept of this place is beautiful... tasty, delicious donuts made with organic, non-gmo ingredients... gluten-free and vegan options which is a bonus-- coffee and some other drinks as well! Everything is fantastic!!!
I am so tempted to unfollow Five Daughter's Bakery on IG because every time I see one of their donuts I feel so sad that I don't think I'll be back in Nashville in the foreseeable future and able to have these again. It was SOOOOO GOOD! I drove 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back from our hotel to see what the hype was all about, and let me just say these sweet treats were definitely special and nothing I've had before. Their classic vanilla was excellent. The staff was also very friendly!
Delicious donuts and cute atmosphere. Prices are what you’d expect for a popular donut place (expensive), but still worth it. Knocked off a star because the employee who helped us wasn’t particularly friendly or welcoming, and despite having multiple coffee drink options on the menu, she told us only drip coffee was available, and this was at 12:30pm - not unreasonably late in the day where it would be understandable if they had run out of ingredients. In any case - we would come back.
Very cute spot! Plenty of delicious options, vegan options too of you in to that! Very good coffee and plenty of milk options of you picky. The staff is so friendly and helpful really patient as its thought trying not to pick everything. The cereal doughnut was my favourate, even though it was good I didn't care much for the lavender and blueberry. Seating space outside is limited so we ended standing and eating as all chairs were being used around other tables.
We love the donuts here. The vanilla cream is our favorite. We picked up a dozen for the family at Thanksgiving, most of them had never had them before. They all loved them. It is pricey, a dozen was $60 but, they are totally worth the price.

Amazing cro-nuts. We made a special trip to this place on a recommendation and were not disappointed. We had a variety of doughnuts and can say the parent trap was our favorite. I will say they were a bit pricey and very rich. Watch yourself or you may spike that blood sugar off the charts. That being said, they were delicious and worth the trip and extra cash. Totally recommend this place if u have a sweet tooth and love a specialty doughnut.
Sinfully delicious donuts. We loved the savory or sweet options. The blueberry lemon one was my favorite. The maple bacon had the potential to be good, but the maple was just too sweet for me. The employee here was amazing and very patient as we decided. The decor is super cute too. Any of the donuts with orange zest or orange glaze were amazing and not too sweet. We would totally come back if we are in the Nashville area again.
Five daughters Bakery is a must try when in Nashville! The staff was so sweet and the donuts exceeded my expectations. The vanilla cream and chocolate sea salt were my absolute favorite. The cream on the vanilla cream was sort of a cross between buttercream and whipped cream, which was so delicious. This will be my first stop the next time I’m in Nashville. Highly recommend!
BELIEVE the hype! Literally the best donuts on earth. Puts Magnolia Bakery in NYC to shame. Words cannot adequately do their products justice. The 100 layer cronut filled with blueberries, the yeast Boston Creme, the whatya call it items too lol soooo amazing. They didnt take shortcuts and over- sugar their goods like every other bakery. Just shut up, listen, and go here!
For the Nashville East location: The donuts are AMAZING - the coffee was great too!!! Get there early for the best donut selection. (The parking is horrible - spaces are way too small.) Five Daughters Bakery at L&L Market typically has the best selection and the one on Caruthers Ave. is in an adorable house, with a large outdoor eating area with fun photo ops as well.
This was our first stop after arriving in Nashville. The donuts and drinks were amazing and our service was great. However, this location needs a thorough cleaning!!! The baseboards and floors in the bathroom looked like they haven't been cleaned in months! The whole place needs a deep clean. You can do better!!!

THE MOST delicious morsels I have ever had. They are a a wonderful twist on the basic donut. I literally cannot stop thinking about how wonderful they were. 10/10 would recommend. Updated: I do not love on the area and there is nothing like this anywhere else I have ever been. These donuts are worth every dollar and so wish I loved closer to one. Come to Michigan?
Donuts are expensive and nothing special and tasted like they were old/not fresh (we got them after dinner for dessert). Super sweet and decadent does not mean good. Also they only carry low fat milk. Who the hell wants to go get donuts that are 100000 calories each is freaking worried about a few more cals in whole milk. Plus the milk was near room temperature.
Really really solid spot for good donuts. You’ll be surprised, but also get their egg sandwich. It’s a nicely soft, thick piece of an omelet on a croissant. So delicious and worth it! Obviously the King Kong is a staple donut (maple bacon). So delicious. The price is definitely higher than other breakfast spots, but you pay a premium for the name as well.
Found this place in one of the Nashville guide books while visiting Nashville. 100 layer donuts or cronuts (croissant + donut)... whatever you call it, they are soooo good. Tried the purist, vanilla cream, milk chocolate sprinkle, and gingerbread donuts. They're all very satisfying. Not too sweet and I liked the dough more than "standard" donut dough.
This is one of several of their locations in the Nashville area. It is in a small upscale shopping area. The inside has the look and feel of an older bakery. They have a wide variety of doughnuts, cookies and pastries to choose from. Plenty of parking and easy access make this a great place to visit for some sweet treats. Stop in and give them a try.
The donuts are yummy but quite expensive. They're a specialty donut so I wouldn't expect much less. Definitely something fun to get once but probably won't go again.

First time here today for vegan donuts. All of them not vegan but I got two vegan options: apple fritter (which is filled with apples) and then the other one is called purist and they were delicious. You couldn’t even tell they wasn’t Vegan. Also had the strawberry lemonade which had a homemade taste to it. True to its flavor
I can only imagine what the regular donuts taste like because they're works of art! For my gluten-free and dairy-free folks, their keto donuts are where it's at! The seasonal chocolate pumpkin and apple cider are delicious, but the consensus favorite was the chocolate with sea salt. Go early because they do sell out before closing!
Service was great, craftsmanship was great. If you like specialty donuts, the flavors and artistry are superb.. don't think I've seen better. The purist was underwhelming. 100 layer donuts are a little overhyped and overpriced. Are they good? Yes! But they're still second place to an original glazed KK with the Hot Now light.
I kept seeing this bakery on tik tok, so I went to try it for myself and it was horrible. Donuts were stale and way too sweet. The frosting tasted like butter and my 2nd bite was even worse. I ultimately threw up.. Even looking at the box made me more nauseous. I wish I was kidding but I was sick that entire weekend. 0/10 .
This place is famous for their '100 layers doughnut' and they do not disappoint! Their doughnuts reminds me of cronuts (croissant doughnut). The Purist (glazed) and Kingkong (maple bacon) were my favorite. I also tried their yeast doughnuts as and they are as good as the 100 layers. I love the variety of flavors they offer.
Super cute, adorable bakery in East Nashville. The donuts (fried croissant style) were well executed and beautiful but were literally so sweet I couldn’t finish half of one. I’d love to come back and try one that wasn’t filled (or glazed too much for that matter). Still, branding was on point, customer service was lovely.
This place was incredible. I have never had this type of donut before with the croissant style. It was very unique and they had a nice selection of donuts. Every donut I tried were very very good. Great experience and friendly staff. I loved the branding and family centered feel the branding revolved around.
Home of the 100-layer donut, vegan and gluten-free options that rotate monthly with new flavors as well as keeps the classics continuously. You will also find other tasty pastries rotating through too. Be sure to check their social media for specials on holidays like Mother's day and Father's day, etc!
Stopped by to get some donuts since they had good reviews. And yes they are addicting and good. They have a good selection and the place looks clean. There is outdoor seating and also a washroom. The parking is big but part of it is just gravel so not the best. They are all awesome. Will come again.
Specifically came for the Gluten Free donuts. Wish I could say they were amazing but the muffin from the coffee shop next door had more flavor and better consistency. If you are coming for the normal donuts I heard excellent things! If you are interested in the gluten free, I wouldn’t recommend.
I was in Nashville on a trip with two of my friends and wanted a sweet treat. We found Five Daughters and I was so glad we did! I had a latte and the s’mores donut. I have not had a donut like this before and it was wonderful! I’d definitely recommend Five Daughters for your sweet fix.
I was a little disappointed with the taste. The reviews I had read said this was a local fav for donuts but I found the food was just okay and I love that it was made with high quality ingredients. We went at 3pm so maybe earlier in the day it is better. I will give it one more shot.
Fulfill your greatest donut desires here. 100 layer donuts will rock your world. Fresh, fluffy, literally finger licking good. Breakfast Biscuit also a treat. Big Ole Biscuit made to order stuffed with Scrambled Eggs and bacon. Good combo with a sweet donut. Highly recommend!
Love the cro-nut style doughnuts here ~ so delicious! Tried a few flavors today : hopscotch, chocolate sea salt and blueberry lemon My favorite was the chocolate sea salt one because of the yum icing! This pretty location has seating outside for a perfect sunny day. …
Five Daughters has some of my favorites donuts in Nashville. Though they are pricey, they usually deliver and satisfy my cronut cravings. What I didn't realize was that they also had an awesome egg sandwich in a super flaky croissant. Wish I had learned about those sooner.
I heard great things about these and they’re better then I had hoped!

Absolutely lives up to the hype. I could eat a truckload of their doughnuts(?) and die happy. The place was very clean. Service was warm and friendly. The King Kong was my favorite but we tried several items and I'd buy all of them again. Highly recommend. 6 stars.
Ordered the Quinnamon Rolls on line for a group party. The pastries were the BOMB ..but it was made even better by walking right in and leaving with my order immediately while everyone else waited in a line out the door. Ordering ahead is DEFINITELY the way to go.
First off I am not from Nashville so I have no history to build off of. Everything was good but I was not knocked off my feet. The 100 layer donut was really good. You can really tell the ingredients are top notch. Worth stopping by if you like pastries.
So glad I stopped here! Gluten free donuts are difficult to find, delicious gluten free donuts are even harder to find. Five Daughters did not disappoint. I picked up some gluten having donuts for my partner and they were thoroughly enjoyed as well.
Okay. This place is AWESOME!! This place is like the Disneyland of donuts! The pastries were simply off the charts! The staff here are all super cool, super friendly, and had some amazing suggestions for what to get. Can’t recommend them enough!
We split the King Kong and the Purist between 5 of us. Huge croissant layered donuts with amazing flavor! My husband and I really enjoyed the King Kong, but my kiddos preferred the Purist. No photos of the donuts because they were gone so fast!
Five Daughters always has about multiple vegan doughnuts to choose from. Flavors rotate each month (seasonal options are updated on their website each month). I have tried the Vegan Purist and Vegan Chocolate doughnuts and they were delicious.
The BEST doughnuts I've ever had in my life! We had the Rocky Road doughnut, chocolate with sea salt doughnut, peppered bacon with maple glaze doughnut, and lemon blueberry doughnut. All were absolutely delicious! Their specialty is the 100
Considered using them as the dessert table for our wedding! We were very excited to try them but immediately disappointed today! I asked if they are able to customize the mini donuts to the specialty flavors such as the maple or cream and
Soooo good! It’s a gem is East Nashville. The croissant style donuts are on another level. I don’t usually like donuts, but I tried em anyway. Glad I did! The service was top notch as well. Super friendly and gave great recommendations.
Late stop so only had matcha donuts, so we order 1 donut and 1 croissant. The croissant was so delicious, the donut was good. The coffee draft was very delicious, I was pleasantly surprised. Loved the vibe definitely coming back.
Be a Doughnut Hero! Probably 100 times better than your average sweet treat. They even carry cookies which are fluffy soft and taste complex. If you like Uber Eats, they can deliver right to your door in a perfectly pink package.
Best doughnuts in the world. I am always excited to come to nashville and make this my first stop. I love the fruity ones the most. Lemon icebox, Strawberry lemonade etc. Its always clean and the employees are friendly.
Super good donuts. Not as sweet as some places, just a better balance of flavors one (at least me) appreciates from a good bakery. The lack of many of the undesirables such as artificial flavors etc. Is also very nice.
Best donuts in Nashville possibly the world .I want them all in my mouth .its 100 layers they fold and fold and fold the dough .. perfectly executed snack nirvana .if I lived in Nashville I would eat these every day
Greatest donut of all time! My favorite donut from them is the King Kong donut. The picture below though is their seasonal carrot cake donut which characteristic is my favorite cake ever, so I'm excited to try it.
Name of the place is five dollars. You will figure it out. Beyond that, the price gives praise to the unexpected flavor and a great spin on the doughnut! Worth the visit. Bring your wallet if you can’t try just 1…
We’ve sought the best donuts all over the Midwest and Five Daughters had the best two donuts EVER! We got the purist and the maple glaze donuts. Flakey, croissant dough - unbelievable donut experience.
Delicious donuts place! The butter cream is inside of the donuts and worth trying if you have never had Five Daughters Bakery. I am a donut lover and this is the best place for someone like me!!
Bought 4 donuts. Overall they were good. Better than gas station donuts. Staff were nice. Lines are long but move pretty fast. Would try again, but it's not a gotta-have kinda recommendation.
Unique flavors, fresh, delicious sweets. There is nothing traditional about this spot. Can't properly describe the experience of the criossant doughnut. Just go. You will not be disappointed.
Clean business, friendly staff. We traveled a little ways as we found it via TikTok. Famously known for their “100 layer donuts” and it does not disappoint, we bought 2 of the vanilla cream.
Best donut you’ll ever have. It’s a cross between an old fashion donut and a croissant. The peanut butter filling is delicious! I also tried the vanilla donut. Pricey but worth every penny.
Amazing donuts! Totally worth the hype :) they last nicely until the next day so go ahead and order all the flavours that are calling your name and you can just finish them tomorrow!
As doughnuts go, I don’t think you’ll ever be able to something to taste better than five daughters, I’m not a sweet tooth, my wife is and she absolutely loved them.
loveeee the donuts!! always order from here, even got a variety of the mini donuts to serve at my baby shower. like that they have vegan options as well!
The 100 layer doughnut is amazing. My wife enjoyed the GF donut and said it was very moist. The Boston creme was filled with creme, which was wonderful!
Expect to pay, but for the best quality donuts ever! Soooo worth it. Friendly staff and good selection. I come here every time I visit Nashville
The best donuts I’ve ever had! The layers of breading and the quality ingredients set this donut apart from all the others. Well done!!
Service and donuts were great. Flavorful and great variety. Croissant/donut hybrid. Great first time customer experience
Oh my gawd. Quite simply the best donuts I’ve ever had. We ended up going here three or four times during our trip.
Great place to have a doughnut. Different flavors but all crisp with a great taste. Staff is really friendly.
The best donuts I have ever had (no exaggeration). Moist, not too sweet and stays edible till the next day.
Delicious! So glad they had gluten free options. I had the S'More. It was dark chocolate goodness!
Around 40 for these , definitely expensive but u definitely won’t get these flavors anywhere else
