I had the pleasure to be assisted from Lana and the Hermitage Bakery and they are simply the best. On March 3 my work Mom (Dee) turned 55 years of age and her Mom (Ms. Martha) had a tradition with her kids (Dee and her siblings) that she bought them birthday cakes from bakery’s in the Greater Nashville area. Dee wanted to continue the tradition although her Mom is no longer here on Earth. She told me she wanted to try this bakery around the corner from her house. I asked her the name of the bakery and she replied “Hermitage Bakery”. I googled this bakery and spoke to Lana and explained to her the situation and the tradition. Lana was happy to assist me and picked out a cake and had it decorated for Dee when she came in. To Dee surprise their was a hand picked cake already paid for and decorated that read “Happy 55th Birthday Dee” with the hash tags #thetraditionscontinues #Martha. The lady opened the cake for Dee and she instantly cried tear of joys and so did the bakery. The bakery has exemplified superior customer service by being flexible while having other orders ahead of my last minute order, by sharing that moment with Dee and not maki by her feel awkward, and allowing me to pay over the phone. Thank you Hermitage Bakery and Lana!

My husband ordered a birthday cake for me the week of October 18th. The cake was picked up on 10/21. He was specific about the colors he wanted since my birthday is in the fall. My Mom picked the cake up not knowing my husband's specifications. Once my husband saw the cake he was not pleased because the colors were clearly spring like. Fall colors are orange, brown, etc.. Not spring time yellow. We've been using Hermitage bakery for about 5 years in spite of living in Antioch where we could have easily driven down the street to Homestyle Bakery. Anywho .. our issue is not necessarily the colors of the cake at this point although for $31.92 you should get what you asked for and if that wasn't available then as a customer we should have been notified! The real issue is the response from the person my husband talked to on the phone when he called to complain. The complete nonchalant attitude was a total shock. I know now that I need to take my business elsewhere. Times are tough now and days but I expect better customer service. Clearly Hermitage bakery has NONE! I'm sure my one little comment won't make much of a difference but I just needed to put it out there.

Ordered a 1/2 sheet cake for my husband's Air Force retirement ceremony. Before placing my order, I sent pictures and was assured it would look like photo. However, it looked nothing like what I ordered...not even close! It should've been a tropical beach themed cake with Air Force Wings in right corner. Instead, it was plainly iced white with basic blue border and writing. It had Air Force Wings symbol in right corner, but that was it. We had 50-60 guests attending the ceremony, and had placed this order weeks in advance. Luckily, we were able to make it work, but it wasn't what we wanted and too late to order from another bakery. The only reason I'm even leaving a 2-star review is because the lady was nice and did try to fix it up the best she could (added red icing and flag rings). Also, the cake was $72, but she only charged us $50. I just wish I'd known they couldn't do it. Would not recommend this bakery for a custom cake order, unless you are just wanting basic icing and design. I have posted a picture of what we ordered versus what we received. Disappointed!

If I could rate this place negative stars, or even zero stars I would. This is the worst experience I have ever had, anywhere. I take my bestfriend out for lunch, we were going to go IHOP but took a wrong turn, saw this place and thought it would be a nice treat before IHOP. My friend has a peanut allergy, he asks her if there's any nuts, peanuts or any other nut related ingredients for the Bon Bons we are about to buy, keep in mind he has made it known to her that he not only can't eat nuts but has an allergy, she says no. We get the bon bons get in my car, he takes on bite out and he knows immediately there's peanut butter. I take a bite out, there's peanut butter. This bakery is reckless and inconsiderate of it's customers. I will not come back again and I will discourage anyone from coming here who may unlikely bring up this horrible store.

This was the worst bakery experience. First, I placed my cake order two weeks in advance. On the day of pick up, it was not ready. They delivered it to me in Hendersonville around 5pm. The box had about 10 pieces of tape on it, so I carefully peeked in and saw that it was green and partial lettering of my sons name. I get the cake home and they have misspelled my sons name. His name is micah, they put micha. The cake looks nothing like the picture I submitted. It was supposed to be fondant, but I was given buttercream, so the xbox designs and minecraft stuff looks like my three year drew them on there. They have not returned any attempts to fix the problem or offer a refund for the awful cake. will not recommend or use them again. I would have been better off using walmart... unclassy, rude, and should not be making cakes.

Got my daughters cake last week and first I was told on the phone it was 11.99 so I was like yes absolutely let's order it. It was supposed to be baby blue with clouds. The woman asked on the phone if I wanted anything written on it and I told her no. She stated they could put it on the cake board not on the cake so I said that would be perfect. I picked it up and not only was it the wrong color, it was navy blue with some pointy blobs that didnt look like clouds, but it was written on the top of the cake which is tiny so messed up the whole cake topper situation and on top of all that it was $21 when I was told it was 11.99. Super disappointed. Really wanted to support a local small business but I won't be back.

I sent a fb message on 2/28 requesting a cake for a party 4/3. Called and completely placed the order around 3/8 again for a party on 4/3. Confirmed order the week of the party and a pick up time of 10am. At 9:45 am on the day of pick up, 15 minutes prior to pick up time, I get a call from the bakery asking me to send me a picture so they can begin to decorate my cake. And asked me for more time. Why after 3 conversations wait until 15 minutes before. I live 30 minutes away, and the party is another hour away. No I cannot give you more time. I gave you a month.

I ordered a cake for my sister's 40th birthday, and the Hermitage Bakery chicks did a fabulous job! The bottom tier was white cake, the top was strawberry. The frosting was almond buttercream with black lace and silver sparkle detailing. I arranged the flowers ($10 from Kroger!) at the suggestion of the bakery chicks. This cake was impressive before the decorations, but it became a knockout with them. The flavors were delicious, and the crumb was the perfect density. Thank you, Hermitage Bakery, for helping me throw my big sis an amazing party!

Was very disappointed. Cupcakes were ok but not what I ordered. When I called to say my cupcakes weren't correct and I didn't get my rolls, they said i would have to talk to someone on Monday. She just called. Told me that I forgot the rolls. Maybe they should have had them ready with my order??? Told her the cupcakes weren't correct. Said she would give me a store credit for the rolls. That's a credit that will never get used. Terrible customer service.

This is an amazing bakery. Used them many times. This time was more unique. Publix refused to write scripture on a cake for baptism. They gave me the wrong answer. Bible is public. I called hermitage bakery. The cake was beautiful and tasted way better than what we would have had. I’m so pleased and feel so blessed that this customer service is simply the best. I usually get cookies. Ha. I’m so thankful that my Goddaughter had the cake she wanted.

I am so jealous that I didn't get to experience this bakery. I arrived at 10:30am, they open at 8. The strangest bakery I have every been to. The lights were off, the only things in the cases were cookies and 3 cakes. I tried to buy one of the cakes, but they said they were "refreshing" them and they couldn't sell them. They then told me I could call in an hour or so and order one. Wow! First and last time for this place. Good luck!

Although I haven’t had the chance to try their cakes (I do plan to order one for my next special occasion) the cupcakes, cookies & especially their petit fours are the absolute best. Their so large they’re like small cakes. So good & very reasonable. But, their is one dark headed girl that works there that could “up her customer service skills” she needs to be more engaging & happy your using that bakery.

I have ordered cakes here for 12 years and they've always been very moist. Other times, I've just chosen a cake from behind the glass and have never been disappointed. Until today. The cake I bought today was so dry and stale, it was hardly edible and must have been several days old, if not a week. I had no idea this bakery ever sold cakes like this. Honestly, why not just throw them out after a day or two?

DO NOT buy a cake here!! They lie and they can't own up to their mistakes. Especially after I called them out on it. I asked to have cream cheese icing on the cake, but instead they did buttercream icing. So I called them about it and they said they mixed buttercream with cream cheese icing.Really?!?! I have NEVER heard of anyone mixing icing together. Nevertheless, the cake was not bad for what it was.

I have been using this Bakery for 7 years a 10 events in the 7 years.. they have done a fantastic job with every single cake that I have gotten there! I have always been impressed and amazed with the talent and how wonderfully the cake taste every single time!!! I would most certianly recommend them to everyone I know..i will be back again in December and 2 times in Feb!!! Thanks for all you do!!!

Great Service!!! Called Thursday evening just before closing to request a Red-Velvet birthday cake. The associate was very friendly and assured me the cake would be ready Saturday at noon. Needless to say, they delivered as promised. The cake was BEAUTIFULLY decorated and extremely moist. My son and I LOVED this cake. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend.

The pies are always amazing and wonderful. I am only giving this 2 star review for whoever the lady was in the back icing cakes... I smiled warmly at her and she looked back at me like she wanted to kill me and didn't say a word. I thought that was super rude. But I the lady that brought my order to me was very nice, and I continue to support Hermitage Bakery.

I BOUGHT A LOAF OF FRESH BAKED BREAD AND SOME COOKIES. THEY COST LESS THAN I THOUGHT THEY WOULD. BOTH WERE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!! THE BREAD SHOCKED ME AT HOW TASTY IT WAS!!! I BOUGHT MY MOM SUM AND SAMPLED HERS AND MADE A BEELINE FROM HER PLACE BACKTA THE BAKERY TO GET MY OWN LOAF OF THAT SCRUMTUOUS BREAD!!! THE STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AS WELL!!!

So so good! Love the melt always and butter cookies! The items they have are delicious, fresh and the right amount of sweet without going overboard. Highly recommend Hermitage Bakery Chicks!

Stopped in again for my usual petit four treats. Every time I am in nashville I have to make a detour to Hermitage Bakery. They’re the best. Sweet strawberry is my favorite but the deep dark chocolate and smooth creamy vanilla are close seconds. My only problem is which to eat first. They’re all so good.

Hermitage bakery has went down hill this past year. The water cookies that use to be just like beckets has no Flavor. The petite four cakes are dry. And the short haired lady that runs the place is a rude rude person. And they lost the best cake decorator. This place sucks now. Time for new bakery

I recently ordered a cake for my daughter's 15th birthday and it was not only beautifully decorated, but it was hands down the best tasting cake I have had. The cake was so moist and fresh and the icing was delicious.Very sweet people who pay a lot of attenton to detail as well. Love this place!

Best bakery in town hands down for birthday cakes. We asked for a fortnite cake because none of the normal bakery places were doing them and this kid loved it. The cake itself taste great, the icing was really good, the cake was super moist and tasty as well. The customer service was great too.

They make the best cakes. Only place I buy cakes from. No one was wearing mask but me. They need to be wearing masks and they need to require everyone to wear mask that come in to their shop. Everyone needs to do their part to get rid of this virus !!!

I have been coming here for about 10 years. The cakes always taste amazing, so moist and the frosting cannot be beat. They can design just about anything you can think of using buttercream frosting. The ladies here are super friendly too!

The cookies were far better than the cakes. The cakes were so overly sweet, flavored with way too much fake strawberry flavor and drowned in a sugar syrup to keep them moist. Very overpriced, should have gone to a grocery store instead.

My sweet 5 year old daughter got a treat from here and loved it. There wasn't tons of options available that was ready for a quick anack but they can custom make anything "made to order" when we got there but everything taste great!

Recently picked up a Breakfast at Tiffany's cake and it was perfect! The taste was great and the cake looked exactly like we wanted. The people there are always friendly and, if you have a dog, they sell homemade dog treats.

Foods are baked from scratch. Mostly deals with cupcakes, cookies and cakes. Dont expect croissants or anything too fancy. They did have honey cookies which were quite good though.
