I write this review with a heavy heart. I have had positive store experiences here with knowledgeable and talented sales representatives such as Rag, Mo, Krishna, and Roe. However, after my Samsung Flip 4 was damaged even as the case recommended by the salespeople (which was secured on the phone) did NOT protect my phone from damage (I paid an extra 80 dollars for officially sanctioned Samsung branded protection), I am now being expected to pay an incredulous 523$ (as of 27/10 15:14) for repairs, as my phone which I took care of and valued like a infant is now held ransom by the very same store that sold it to me (I waited several weeks for this response btw). I DID NOT like my interaction with Beth over the phone. She was unempathetic of my plight and it's ridiculous considering she is a manager of her respected area. She told me to "calm down" as I was clearly upset at the resolution and decision regarding this extremely unfair, unethical, and anti-consumer decision. As one of the top, most influential reviewers in Melbourne. I will attest that I no longer wish to support JB HI-FI Bourke St. Because of how unfair and unjust this outcome was for me. I have been supporting the store for years as evident in my past receipts and can be referenced in the database. This is absolute garbage, I do not accept this decision and I will be taking matters further. I will consult my international legal team (confidential so you guys don't harass them) and I will establish the best legal remedy to ensure that I am justly compensated for this unethical behaviour against my character. I will also push this same message on my Instagram of almost 6, 100 followers to ensure that people think twice before investing in a phone plan or anything of that sort with a store lacking so much empathy, consideration and logic behind how they choose to resolve customer disputes. I am highly disappointed in all of the staff involved, and just know I will not rest until I am provided restitution, retribution and compensation for all the stress that has been induced by this incident. I am clinically diagnosed with acute stress disorder and this situation did not help my condition in the slightest. So thank you staff of JB HI-FI Bourke St. for "all your help". Way to reward loyalty and years of purchases. I feel "sooooo" valued. If you can't read sarcasm, that was sarcastic. Just so you know.

REALITY When I visited the store to get a samsung watch this morning I referred with the price from office works provind that price was $349 and I would like to make a purchase at the JB as I´m their currently client. The sales person told me they contacted the office works and they didn´t have any watches available and for this reason they couldn´t sell me for $349 but they could do $420. I immediatly went to office works and the watch was available so I made the purchase. When confronted the Matty the female manager with the watch and receipt on my hands she couldn´t give the reason why she refused to sell me for the same price. I felt ofended as I'm a regular client of this store for quite long time purchasing many devices such as an iphone and as many others to be treated like that when looking for my rights. Was very disrespectful and rude from the manager and the sales person for lying to me so they didn´t have to sell me the watch. I would like to receive a formal apology for the inconvenience caused me. I shouldn't be treated like like that. Jacob, Matty, Mat were the managers in duty.

Wrong model and price on the invoice, overcharge for few dollar. I return to the shop next day and ask nicely for the price difference refund, manager and the person who sell to us did apologize and arrange the process for refund. Unfortunately they still need the original card to refund it, so I'm driving another half hours back to house and bring my girl and her card to them. Seem like communications mistakes was made by them, another cashier serve us while we came back, didn't know about this case, so I explain again and show him the invoice and barcode for refund purpose. Don't know why, the short satlty cashier seem like frustrated, and don't even know what to do. Just keep asking same questions that I already answered. And they way he present sound like we're about to scamming, or I think he just simply hate to deal with someone who don't speak English as their mother tounge. I don't think we should be treated like that, I can't even forget his face after leaving that shop. Strongly recommend send that short salty cashier back to school and learn the basic manner.

Such a disappointing experience. CUSTOMER SERVICE: 1/10. It was really difficult to find staff and when I did, several, had no interest in helping me out. Note: The store was not busy. STAFF: chatting away to each other about their social engagements...when I asked if someone could help they let out an audible sigh, annoyed that they'd have to serve me. Met another customer in the store who remarked that the "guys here, aren't helpful" and described a similar experience and said she'd buy her laptop elsewhere, if she had the time. (It should be noted that of the staff, one woman and 1 man of Indian-looking appearance were super helpful and seemed to be carrying the weight of the other less competent staff). PRODUCT VARIETY: Rather good, overall. They had a nice broad selection of the latest gadgets etc. LOCATION: Super convenient, city central with some local parking and close by transport available. OVERALL: Wouldn't recommend, ended up buying my phone and accessories elsewhere as a result.

So my wife went to the store, Maurico who “served” her insulted my wife, in front of all the customers by asking 5,6 staffs “ do you have an AirPods ?” And rudely opened and closed my wife’s AirPods case for many time. He was mocking off my wife in front of everyone. Which is absolutely unacceptable and intolerable. This behavior made my wife cried and ruined her birthday!! I can’t believe such a big company like JB is having such a terrible staff who is absolutely takes no care of customers’ feeling! Lack of product knowledge, poor in customer service, bad in attitude. I don’t understand why such a person still having a job and keeps ruining your company’s reputations. And my wife deserves an apology from this Maurico person!

Hands down one of the best customer experiences I have ever had! I went in needing to upgrade my phone. I researched a Samsung S21 Ultra, which was in my budget, and fortunately, I dealt with Harrison, who was an absolute legend! He was able to find me an S23 Ultra for the same price as the outdated product! Harrison was patient, knew his products, and most importantly, didn't upsell or push products. He is an absolute asset to the team! I also had the pleasure of dealing with another bloke (I think it was Thilanka - apologies if I butchered your name!) but he talked me through various helpful tips, including backing up and transferring data from phone to phone. Both guys working at the phone section on Monday, 27 Feb (around 3pm) are to be congratulated on their great customer service and dedication

Horrible customer service from a sales assistant with pink hair( didnt even wanna ask her name cus she was pathetic; rude and disrespectful to us) She was extremely rude and disrespectful to us when we were very nice to her and requested for an exchange as a faulty iphone was sold to us. She wouldnt exchange that faulty Iphone & said I could only get only get a refund and that I had to come back after few days to buy a new phone but I spoke with the manager and he apologised and exchanged the phone and said that refund and coming back to buy a new one (wasting our time) wasn’t necessary. Every staff member’s were nice except for that pathetic girl with pink hair.

Helpful and tactful staff, along with impressively quick check-outs staff too. Came in to buy a phone, got some proper advice from the staff there on what to get with no push towards a more expensive brand. I was worried when I saw quite a line at the checkout, but the checkout staff worked quickly and the wait was short. Good to know, that at least the day I was there, the business didn't cut down on staff where it counts. The only shortcoming was the odd positioning of the android phone audio adapter cables. But that's more of a nitpick than anything else.

These guys don’t have an idea of how to work in retail. When you need some assistance you’ll wait an eternity, while they loose time chatting. I had to return a camera since it truly didn’t meet my expectations and I was treated in an unacceptable way, rudely and deliberately accused of having lent the camera for free. I did not want to waste more time with this guy and I only reminded him the policy until he stopped. Needless to say that I would have been happy to buy another one from them since the discounts were good, but I’m never going back there.

I feel like I am asking for a favour, not expecting customer service to buy, PAY for a product I want. We were in the Kindle table - a mess, to start with. The cheapest one wasn't available, so I tried to take a look at the others and activated the alarm. Salesperson went all the way to the table only then, deactivated the alarm, yawned and walked away. I tried, went to the cashier to buy, was told that i have to talk to the salesman. As the guy seemed to be DYING, so sleepy he was, walked away. Trying my luck at the Officeworks.

Great selection of brands at very competitive prices. When I visited the store was very busy and there were clearly nowhere near enough staff on the floor to cope with the demand - had to wait a fair while to get served, and then again in the checkout queue. However, staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, and served with a smile even though they were clearly under pressure. The store overall had a slightly disorganised feel about it, but I was able with help to find everything I needed.

I cannot recommend this store enough; they helped me for hours as the system had a bit of a malfunction to try and switch my phone plan, they even called Telstra! (I don't even like to call Telstra). They accommodated me giving me multiple alternative options and were so nice to talk to. Isaac was the one who mainly helped me, as did I think the manager (I didn't get his name properly). They were extremely professional, knowledgeable and so kind throughout this process. Thank you.

Super helpful staff!! I rang one day in desperate need of an apple charger, the staff were very helpful in guiding me to a suitable charger as they ( and most of the city were out of stock of the charger) The staff held it for me until I could collect it. Also the secruity guard on the door is super lovely and always greets myself and other costumers very nicely. Great experience all around

This one in the city is really too dark. I didn’t pay attention to buying it so many times. It’s the first time I found out that it’s not worth the price if I took away the special offer. When buying it, I really have to pay attention to be careful even if it’s a famous Australian store. I’m too disappointed. It's disappointing that Australia's No. 1 chain is still doing this in the city!

Half the store is taken up by an apple store that nobody cares walk into. Picture for proof. I don't know what I think about JB. They're overpriced but like you to think they're cheap because of all the blaring signs. There is also a box in the front window that makes me think someone missed a delivery a few months ago. I just wanted a Ryzen laptop, but all they got are Intel.

I just went in to change a chord that broke I bought a month ago from Brighton Max was amazing! So patient understanding and customer centric ! I was so impressed by his service ! Worst service ever. They would rather help everyone else and not you, even when you ask them for help. Not considerate and staff would rather walk around doing something on a shelf than help a walk in customer. The only good thing is the man at the bottom of the escalator who greets you. Rather do your own research, walk in a check out. Save yourself asking staff

I too have shopped at a number of JB Hi Fi stores and find this particular store to be the best all round JB store. It's in a great central city location, has an excellent range of product, and the staff always provides a super friendly service. I've purchased quite a bit of gear from this JB store and always make it my first store of call for electronics gear.

Good place for electrical items and other assorted goods. They have a variety of cd and vinyls as well as toys and games. Majority of items are reasonably priced and tend to be cheaper than larger retailers. Definitely worth a look if you're making a purchase. Laptops gaming consoles scales watches phones are all available.

Came here at the end of financial year sale, and couldn't be happier with my experience. Venice the staff who helped me was above and beyond. She helped me figure out the discounts that I am eligible with, and found resolution options to those stuff that are out of stock. It has been a great experience

I went to buy a gaming laptop. I knew what I wanted and I had my specs and James - “the new guy”, was so helpful! He recommended a laptop with better specs and better price! Went to buy an iPad as a gift. The man who served me was super helpful and patient as well. After finalising my selection I completed my purchase in less than 30 seconds as he served me at a card payment terminal that was in the shop without needing to line up at the main register counter.

I always shop at the Bourke St location because everytime I've been there it's been A+++. When I'm unsure about a product or need some help, there is always staff close by willing to help (unlike other locations where you either can't find anyone or you have to stand around waiting).
