Sad, I really enjoyed going to this bike store until today. The sales side of the store 5/5 experience but the maintenance/repair side was awful. I usually don’t write reviews or never feel compelled to unless absolutely needed but today my experience was awful. I had purchased my bike and gear from this store a few months back. I was told I would receive a few things free since I had purchased everything through them. I was unclear though whether I would get a free tuneup or not and was asking the maintenance team today if that was possible. A guy named “Daryl” said this wasn’t something they usually do and said he worked their for 10 years and heard nothing of this ever. So I went to the sales representative and asked her about it and she had clarified that I would receive something’s free but not a tuneup. Which was fine, I just needed some clarification. So we walked back to the maintenance team and she talked to “Daryl” to get a better understanding of what needed to be fixed on my bike. She then said I can ask him as she left me. I asked “Daryl” what needed to be fixed. He rudely started saying “well your tire needs to be aligned, spokes need to be looked at, you have a dirty chain, I don’t know what else needs to be fixed I’m busy right now”. It really shocked me on how this individual was talking to me. Not sure if he woke up on the wrong side of bed or if he’s simply a d**k head but you don’t talk to people like that. Very rude and disrespectful, hoping management sees this and makes some adjustments. If he doesn’t like his job he should quit.

I've taken my bike to Kozy's for minor repairs since I moved to Chicago last year, and the service is always fast and reasonably priced. The employees are straight-shooters, highly knowledgeable, and have never tried to up-sell me on something I didn't need. But what really solidified my opinion was my recent purchase of a new from bike from Kozy's, after my old one reached a point where it was more cost effective to buy a new one than to repair it. I received help from 2 employees, George and Ben, who provided advice on which type of bike to purchase based on my lifestyle. I was able to take a test ride, and George asked me plenty of questions about how the bike felt, to make sure I was pleased with it. He even searched other store locations for the previous year's model, found it, and had it shipped to the store for free-- all of which saved me $150. So all in all, I'm really grateful to have such a great bike shop in the neighborhood, and I will definitely keep going there in the future.

I’ve owned many bikes and have shopped at quite a few of the bike shops on the north side of Chicago and Kozy’s in without a doubt the best of all. The staff is super helpful and friendly, the service is great, and the selection is insanely good. In the past few weeks, I’ve bought a road bike, a hybrid, a comfort bike (for my wife), a burley trailer (for my daughter) and a couple of helmets from Kozy’s and each time, they were great. If you buy a new bike, you leave with it same day. Other shops make you come back later, which is annoying. Even my wife, who is annoyed by the snootiness or pretension of most shops, left Kozy’s feeling good about how we were treated and she really likes her new bike. If you’re looking for a new bike, go to Kozy’s.

Went to Kozy to purchase a bike for my wife as I enjoy supporting local bike shops. This was my second experience after buying my son and myself bikes over ten years ago. The manager Sherdon Weir was extremely helpful and professional talking me through the models and features in advance of my coming in. He was able to order a new bike and it came in earlier than expected in great condition. We also picked up the extended service plan that is the best value in the city for four years of service. I would highly recommend this shop based on the staff and the selection of quality products that they have. There is a reason a business stays in business for almost 80 years and they always place the customer first!

I've brought my last 4 bikes here. Those were for various ages (kids bikes to adult large). Over the years Kozy has consistently offered a great selection, knowledgeable staff, competitive pricing and did I mention the staff? In any specialized business the people that work with the customers oftentimes make or break the experience. The staff I've dealt with at various times over the years have always delivered an excellent customer service experience. Friendly no pressure and again knowledgeable. When you look to buy any product you should always try to buy it from actual users of those products. This is a bike store full of bike people!

Kozy’s is a wonderful bike shop with experienced and professional repair staff. As someone who likes to work on their own bike, I loved how easy it was to discuss which components were worn out and needed replacement vs which ones still were in good condition. My integrated freehub was toast after 5,000 miles, Kozy’s repair staff helped me select an affordable thru-axil wheelset that they installed while I waited. The repair job was quick, very reasonably priced, and they exceeded my expectations for their workmanship & customer service. Thanks so much!

My bike needed maintenance, the quality of the repairs was good but the customer service was not. I purchased a rear wheel because the old spokes broke . I then started having problems with the chain and was later informed I needed a new cassette. Apparently the old one wasn’t a fit for the wheel since the wheel wasn’t the one my bike needed because it was for a higher speed bicycle. I was never told any of this and the response was that is what you said you had in your budget at the time. I moved from this area and won’t be returning.

Kozy's and Luis got me and my cycling team ready for our 330+ mile bike ride this year and the year before and THEY ARE THE BEST. They got us fitted on our bikes, so our bodies wouldn't get in the way of the ride. Luis did such a good job at explaining why he was making the adjustments he made and they even let us come back in to make a few minor tweaks to the bikes before our big ride. Knowing I've had my bike fitted by this crew gave me so much peace of mind out on the road. KOZY's FOREVER.

My 14 year old just got a great bike at Kozy, on sale, from Sherdan. The customer service from Bill in the service department was fantastic. He took the time to adjust the bike to my son, mounted the lock we purchased, showed us how to use it and then asked my son to practice taking it off and putting it back on. Then he showed my kid the best ways to lock his bike to prevent theft. Such great service, I highly recommend Kozy!

Love this little local bike shop. I bought a racing bike there last year and have been very pleased with it. Great selection and service. I got a cheap kids bike for my daughter off Amazon recently and brought it here for adjustment when I had reached my wits end trying to do it myself. They provided great advice and helped modify the bike for free. Next time I'll save myself the trouble and just get the bike from them!

I had a wonderful experience purchasing my bike from this store. As soon as I walked in, a friendly gentleman greeted me and immediately assisted me with the entire buying process, even helping me select some accessories. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent customer service and a seamless purchasing experience. Overall, I would give them a 10/10 rating.

Great place for anything cycling!! Very large selection of bikes, e- bikes, kids bikes and a great selection of parts and accessories. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful in picking out gear that we needed for our upcoming bike trip. They also have a shop for any maintenance or installation of accessories that you purchase. I called Kozy's yesterday and received way beyond excellent service form one of their sales associates, Shirdon (sp). He helped me with the purchase of a mountain bike and also has been tirelessly searching for a bolt to an old Thule bike rack for me. This place is amazing! I almost didn't go because there were a few negative comments about the maintenance side (I haven't dealt with them yet personally) but Luis on the sales side is awesome! I stopped by today for assitance installing SPD cleats on my cycling shoes. The person who greeted me was very kind and was able to quickly get the cleats on my shoes. He made sure to test the shoes clipped in properly as well. So glad to have such a friendly neighborhood bike shop near me!

bought a tube and it was damn, it had to post in the opened up when the didn't want to be responsible to it, they have to reveal one star, he said, I pushed the whole whole was school, but true about it like that, and that's my review, right here I will never buy again from there

Customer service is outstanding. Sherdon, in particular, is extremely helpful and knowledgeable around product offerings. Store has a vast selection of bikes, along with accessories. Hands-down, best place to-go if you’re in need of a bike, accessories or repairs.

I ordered 2 adult trikes on Amazon. The neighborhood bike shop on 103rd and Kedzie gave me a hard time to assemble them. I took them to Kozy's Milwaukee Ave store. They assembled them in a few days, with no problem. The staff was kind and courteous.

I love how close this place is to my house. They always have 3+ mechanics when I’m in there. They have helped me with quick fixes on my bikes a few times at a low cost and within 15 minutes I’m riding back home. Their staff is helpful and friendly.
