This review is for the bathing and nail trimming service. I usually send my dog to the petsmart at 100 Oaks and this is my first time at the Charlotte pike one. I added one star for the friendly staff during daytime, and at the checkout. (1) No notification for pick-up: I sent my pet to this place at 4:30pm appointment time. I was told in store that it will be done in 3-4 hours and will give me a call when it’s ready. I never received that call. (2) Giving me a wet dog: I went back to pick him up at 8:30pm because the store closes at 9pm and it has to be finished anyway, plus I don’t want to leave my pet there overnight. When I picked him up, my pet and the leash, everything was wet. The girl who works there said she accidentally swept water over him when she was cleaning. I understand that it happens, yet I believe they were responsible for drying him before handing him back to me. I am also a bit concerned about how my dog was cared for backstage. (3) Regarding the service itself: The nail trimming service here made sure that my pet’s nails were sharp enough to break my skin with a easy scratch the second day - first time for me at least. Yes he was bathed.

The first time I went there they charged me extra because they said my dog needed extra “scissoring” I’ve taken her to other petsmart and never had that charge. She was also shaved so I am not sure what scissoring was involved except for face and tail. They were also very rude in the process and would not come talk to me about it. I figured it was a bad day and I’d give them another shot. Took my pup for just a bath and brush. I asked if they could just trim the hair that was falling in her face and they said no that all that was included in a bath and brush was trimming between the food pads and private areas. I didn’t feel like arguing so I said ok. When I picked her up and got her home I found that they had not trimmed those areas or trimmed her nails and they simply brushed the top coat creating Knots on her undercoat everywhere. Extremely disappointed as she is a doodle and that is hard to fix. I’ve been to plenty of petsmart but this one is HORRIBLE. They genuinely seem like they hate their jobs and are not even affectionate towards the dogs or nice to the owners.

I don't like writing negative reviews but I feel the need to prevent stress or trauma to cats who might be affected by the grooming dept at this PetSmart. I took my two cats crying in their travel bags all the way across town to my grooming appointment yesterday, only to be told that I need documentation of rabies vaccinations. When I made the appointment 3 weeks ago, I wasn't told that this was needed. I could have easily gotten the updated shots but had no idea I needed them. The really crazy thing is that once this happened, I suddenly remembered that the SAME THING happened when my mom brought her cats here for grooming last year. Mom had to go home, make an appointment with the vet, get the shots, and then go back for grooming. The employees didn't mention the need for the rabies vaccination on both my mom and myself and I'm guessing we are not alone. I took two hours out of my workday and traumatized my cats yowling in their cat bags on the car ride for NO REASON. Shame on you PetSmart!

Took my baby and dropped her off at 11:15 for a 11:30 appointment, Monday, September 18. There were 5 groomers there grooming dogs. I was told max time they would have her would be 4 hours. I've never had it take over 3 hours to have her groomed. However, at 3:30, which was 4 hours, I called and they told me she would be ready about 4:30. Come on! That's 5 hours. No excuse for that. Her hair looks like the groomer rushed to get her done. Even though she looks better than when I dropped her off, her haircut looks pretty shabby. I complained and they gave me my senior discount plus and extra 15%. The groomer apologized and said it was because they were short handed. Like I said there were 5 groomers there when I dropped her off. Just a case of overbooking. I will never take her back to any Petsmart nor will I recommend them. I will definitely do just the opposite. By the way, if I didn't mention it, it was the West Nashville Petsmart.

I frequently shop at this particular PetSmart because it is close to home and they carry a specific type of food that I have to feed my senior dog. Until recently I have never had a complaint and I have always had positive experiences here. The past three times I have shopped here, a rude employee was at the register. Her name is Victoria. She does not speak to me except to ask for my phone number. She does not look at me. She does not say thank you or have a nice day. It's almost as if she goes out of her way not to speak or be friendly. Each time I am in line, I notice that she is like this with all of the customers. I would much rather shop somewhere where the employees are pleasant and friendly but I don't have a choice since I need that specific food for my dog. As I said, the other employees here are always friendly. Unfortunately, she has been the only one at the registers the past three times I have visited the store.

I will not be returning to this petsmart. The groomer that was going to groom my dog was actually scared of her and made her nervous and scared .. my poor dog was crying and laying down to show her belly and kept crying and screaming and even peeing in the floor because the lady was being super rude and demanding. She never growled or made any defensive move at all, and this lady starts fussing and yelling this is not safe u need to take her to the vet to be sedated for a bath!! I just had her bathed at petsmart in Hendersonville not long ago. They gave her treats and talked sweet and she went right to them no problem. This lady (Tammy) never gave her a treat or said a kind word to her. She traumatized her. This was a really bad experience. My dog is a small nervous and easy to scare dog she's never been mean to anyone! She is super kind and humble. She's never growled at another person or anything like that.

Please please please... DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL TO THE GROOMING SALON AT PETSMART.. they may be affordable but the quality work is poor... I dropped my dog off, they said about 3 to 4 hrs.. the lady who was assigned to groom my dog was very rude.. when she 1st took her my dog was scared. I thought maybe because this was new to her.. I go to pick her up well after the time frame they gave me.. my dog was so scared when I picked her up that she pee'd on me.. I get her to the car she does it again... I get her home n saw what a horrible job Mrs. Tammy did to my dog.. I called the store n the salon manager said, I apologise.. the groomer was overwhelmed n had a bad day.. a day my dog had to suffer. I do not trust the the staff in grooming.. there are no cameras in the back so there is no telling what my dog went through.. STAY AWAY... IF THE GROOMER HAVING A BAD, YOUR ANIMAL SUFFERS FOR IT...

I've been coming here for years! I must say there has been AMAZING improvement since my HORRIBLE experience 3 YEARS AGO! Everyone works so hard greets,assist without me asking and for other customers as well. They all work so hard ! Lia is very helpful,friendly and takes great care of all pets in adoption pet department! Pam is always asking if I need help and has great recommendations! Grace always greets and ask how I am.We have great conversations. Matt and Tim always help me load up my products to my car without hesitation. They are very careful with my products I buy from the store. Hannah is super informative,funny,friendly.Dante and Alex also help me get what I need from the back room if Im Looking for a specific product. I love everyone at PetSmart they all work so hard and they seem to be doing great with the social distancing! 10/10 I love my local PetSmart!!!

I had a great experience! I have had Syrians before, but never robo hamsters. I called every pet store near me and, only they had so many hamster spicies. Ofter telling an employee we have adopting 2 female robos he immediately found someone who worked in the small pet department. The lady was vary nice! She was vary patient as I looked in the cage and picked out my 2 girls. As I was pinking my pets out she reminded me of store policy and recommended a few things I needed, after getting the stuff from a near by isle, she unlocked the cage and and let me pet a few robos to make sure I liked the ones I picked. She got just the 2 I wanted. She was vary helpful the entire process, it was well worth the 20 minutes there and 20 minutes back, for such a great experience. We got many helpful tips. I would definitely go back to get more small pets.

Took my yorkie “Tater” to get a Bath, nail trim and specifically told the woman do not shave my yorkie only trim his face and legs. Told her if she needed to match body to legs then only take a half inch off his body but do not shave that i like him a cute little fur ball. She layed out samples of how short was I willing to go on his hair and I specifically said again no shave. I pick my baby up and Did not recognize him. I was shocked and asked her why she did that after i told her several times no shave and her answer was “oh it will grow back” being a hairdresser myself to humans I asked her how would she like for me to shave her hair and tell her “oh it will grow back”. I was extremely upset spoke to the manager who was very kind and understanding. Her name is lindsey so any one goes do not get lindsey. Before and after

Traveled 25 minutes to this store to replace pump that had stopped working. I arrived at 8:35 PM store close at 9 PM. An employee at door told me he was told not to let anyone in. I explained that I just needed a pump and knew where it was located in store. Was told registers were down, as I looked through windows at customers paying for orders. I asked for manager and was told she was busy. Called store and Nathan answered, as I voiced my complaint, he said hang on and hung up on me. He hung up on me an additional 6 times . Called from different number and he answered, when he realized it was me he hung up again. After adopting pets from Petsmart and spending thousands of dollars at their stores, I will not be going there again.

Went to look at a cat for my family and me and my two boys go inside to look at the cats with a rather rude employee he told me we could only see one of the cats so that was okay well why we waited behind him to get the cat out this other cat starting hissing at my 2 year old and the employee said that we were disturbing him to get out I'm like wow okay you just lost us as potential buyers of animals at this location EVER the way he treated me and my family like we were a problem he could have told me to wait in the little room with my kids if we were going to "upset" the cat that much and he knew because when we first walked in he said oh that one has a temper ! Just didn't like the experience or the way we were treated!

Store employees everyone from the manager to the cashier to the floor to The grooming staff there are really really nice, especially Leo, they all love our pets like get-down-to-their-level like and give belly rubs and talk to them. My dog Shadow now actually looks forward to coming to the store...he's a very anxious dog and barks it's crazy every single time I need to bring him to get his nails trimmed. This time I took him to Banfield and he met Mycaela and dr. Jones... absolutely outstanding service from both of them I really feel like he was taking care of and they care about him and his health. I recommend this PetSmart great service thank you very much PetSmart for giving great customer service!

I have purchased crickets, gold fish, and anoles from this store to feed 3 tarantulas 1 monitor and almost 200 crested geckos. I've spent thousands here buying feeders. Today Sunday the last day of March 2019 they loose my business forever. While buying feeders at most expensive place u can I might add, a man told me I cannot sell these to you anymore because you are feeding another animal. Why would you sell feeder species to anyone but a person that is feeding another animal. We at logansport crested geckos will never give them a single penny again. I've purchased dozens of cages thousands of dollars in feeders every year. This is a shame they treat LOYAL customers this way!

I was not too satisfied with my experience at Banfield, taking care of an injured cat. The first visit, we had a scheduled appointment, got there on time, and then waited for an hour before even getting into a room, and another 30mins to see the vet. Second visit was quicker, but the bandage they applied came off the minute we got home. They had just closed and the doctor was already gone for the day, so I got to reapply the bandage myself. Also, they prescribed an oral form of Metacam, which is questionable whether or not its even safe for cats.. the box states for use in dogs only. There is an injectable form for cats, but this was not what was prescribed.

I had previously heard the bad reviews about pet smart grooming, but because of unavailability with the groomer I truly want to use before going out of town, our last ditch effort had us taking him to pet smart. After our experience I can honestly say that even in our next moment of desperation, we will NEVER take our pup to be groomed here. A usually happy and energetic puppy has done nothing but lay around since we picked him up. When he was handed to us, he was shaking so hard his breath kept catching in his mouth. His haircut is incredibly uneven and he is limping when previously he was perfectly fine. Our business will be permanently taken elsewhere.

I had an EXCELLENT grooming at this place, followed by a TERRIBLE one. I tried to call afterwards to express my concern that my dog still had a lot of loose hair and did not seem brushed at all, but was put on hold and then hung up on. I'll probably try them again because the first grooming was so great, but I'll be requesting I don't see the same groomer again. ** Id like to follow up on this review by saying that I did try them again, and it was wonderful! While I did have one bad experience it seems like it was a fluke and I don't want to be unfair. Ask for Tammy! My dog looks and smells amazing!!

Long time customer of Petsmart and I booked appointment in advance for my dog for today at 1015am. When I arrived I was told by grooming manager woman that my appointment was at 915am and because I was late they canceled it. Basically, she was rude and treated me as though I was lying . It was only until I asked for the store manager did they figure out it was their human error and/or system error. The grooming manager and gentleman at the grooming front desk need a lesson in customer service and how to apologize when you’re wrong. I will not be returning to this Petsmart.

The barfield hospital in this Petsmart killed my perfectly healthy puppy. We brought a perfectly healthy Toy chiuaua in for her first set of shots, we get home and the puppy is immediately sick and throwing up we call and they say if it last 24 hours then to return with her. The next day she is bleeding out both ends and not only do they take no responsibility for it, they CHARGE US TO PUT HER DOWN AND SAY IT'S NOT ON THEM. WORST VET I'VE EVER HEARD OF. MY OPINION IS THEY OVER VACINATED A TINY DOG ESENTIALLY POISIONING HER TO MAKE MONEY OF THE EXTRA VACCINES.

Went to pick up my dog didn't have a collar lady said we can let you use ours after paying over 140 dollars for grooming then I stop the next day to get treats for my dog and another customer is using the exact collar and brought back in and left at the front counter...did not make me feel like an appreciated customer will not be giving them any more business also the ladies in grooming suck..such.. lady made me wait outside while another customer had walked in said they only deal with one customer at a time real odd I may have to call in about that issue.

I was told to be in the building by 4:15 and I was standing there in front of the groomer at 4:15 and she was a completely rude unprofessional woman named Beth who said she had to cancel my apt even though I did exactly as I was told bc I was there WITHIN the time frame. Wouldn’t take my apt to have a hair cut for my small doodle even after having two managers try to convince her to. This was my 4th attempt to have my dog groomed and I will NEVER be going back and Beth lost her commission but needs to learn how to treat customers

Took my dog here for grooming and asked them to take a considerable amount of fur off since it’s the summer. My SO picked my dog up and when I saw him it was clear they had not cut my dogs fur at all. We called up there and asked to take him back since they didn’t do anything we had asked. When we picked him up the second time they had trimmed around his face a bit and around his bottom and literally nowhere else. A complete rip-off and waste of money, save yourself time and money and take your pup elsewhere for grooming.

Took my doodle to the Pet Smart on Charolette Pike Rd to get groomed and they were so incredibly lazy. She was mildly matted and they completely shaved her body and left her tail and ears, and what they shaved was so choppy and uneven. They didn’t even bother to touch her ears and left terrible mats on them, which is so bad for their ears and can cause health problems. They didn’t trim her paws or clip her nails either. I had to take her to the lady who used to groom her in Alabama to fix her because it was so terrible.

The past 3 times that I have made grooming appointments I have been turned away and made to reschedule because they say their records show my dogs rabies shots are out date. I constantly have to have banfield send them over my records over to show that they are actually up to date. You would think they would save this information. Not a huge flaw but very frustrating for a costumer to constantly make appointments to be told I can come back later that day or reschedule cause they arent doing their job.

Took my dog here to get groomed for the first time. It was the first time I’ve witnessed a grooming room where not a single person was reassuring the animals they were grooming. They seemed pretty busy so maybe I caught them at a bad time. To describe my dogs grooming job in one word: okay. I personally felt somewhat uncomfortable in the grooming area. However the people at the vet inside were sweet and so was the cashier. Overall, I would shop here for pet supplies but will not return for grooming

I had my 9 month old golden doodle groomed at Petsmart on charlotte yesterday. I am not sure what happened to him but he won’t walk. He will only sit and cry. I am not able to find any visible signs of an injury. But he will not run and play. He will not climb into our laps. He does not act like himself. His haircut is not great. It appears that they shaved his face for some reason. Please be mindful if you are having your pet groomed there. I intend to call and ask if there is camera footage.

So I bought a 54 gallon top fin aquarium ensemble and could not fit it in my car no matter which way we tried. The employee who was helping us (named Dwight, he's awesome) noticed my distress and offered to take the tank in his own personal vehicle back to my home for me. That man is the MVP, he saved my day and returned peace to the land. So instead of being defeated on the curb of a Petsmart, I now have a great tank sitting in the corner of the room, ready to be set up :D. Thanks Dwight!

I previously took my dog to get his nails cut. When I got him back home I noticed two of his nails were not cut at all. I let it go, even though the staff was extremely rude. Yesterday, I tried to go again to have his nails cut, the man at the desk said they were too busy, even though there was one dog in there & there was a woman just standing there doing nothing. She could have cut my dogs nails in the time the rude man was telling me how busy they are. Will never go back.

Terrible in stock position on mainstream canned cat food from Fancy Feast and Friskies. Weeks ago they blamed this same thing on COVID (how bogus!) yet other merchants continue to sell and receive stock on these same brands and selections. Hey PetSmart!... You can't sell what you don't have and nobody else seems to be having the difficulties you seem to having when it comes to this product!! Guess I'll continue to go to Walmart, they're a few cents per can cheaper anyway.

All the fish have ick and I watched a manager drop a baby dwarf hamster from above 7 feet high and put it back in the cage to be sold without getting vet checked. Just “checked on,”by sight by him. I’ve never had a good experience there. Fish always bring home ick and their small animals are underfed and labeled as the wrong species. Employees make you feel like you are a burden if you ask for help with anything. Will never be going back to the brentwood PetSmart.

We of course we want the smartest dog so we try to visit often. Not sure we have seen much difference yet but it's only been a year. Basically he was in kindergarten and still has 11 years to go right?? Breaking it down like that really does help keep us in check. I really dont have any complaints at all. It's a clean store, the employees are nice, and we are really enjoying and trusting the process of PetSmart making our pet smarter. #bearbear

So sad I didn’t read the reviews before. I showed up with photos of what her haircuts have looked like before to the groomer (Tammy) and she told me that since she wasn’t matted it would be easy and could be done. My poor dog is so itchy from being groomed wrong and I had to go back with scissors to fix spots that had been missed. Don’t book with Tammy! She also added on a $20 extra brushing fee after she said she didn’t need any extra.

This is a review for the grooming department only. I have a new puppy and I was really worried about him getting groomed but I did not need to worry at all! Ian did a great job with my little guy. He even told us things Toby (the dog) liked and didn't like about the grooming process. Not only that but my puppy was clean and happy when we picked him up. Finally, the price was very very affordable and we will be back. Thanks Ian.

Lady in fish dept insulted us saying so these are victims ! When we bought fish for our pond. I supposed she didn’t like ponds as opposed to aquariums? We spent a lot of money on our pond. Two high powered filters and pumps. Waterfalls and we buy maintenance chemicals often. It’s not just an ordinary pond. This is my hobby and it was hurtful she acted like that. Young people just have no filters on their mouth these days

This is a really nice pet shop, with well organized merchandise, a puppy training program, and dog grooming office in the back. Over the last 5 years this has become my exclusive stop for everything that my dog needs: from toys, to treats, food, grooming, and even routine pet care (from their integrated Banfield office). They regularly have good deals on things like treats, dog beds, and pet accessories.

Took my dog here several times for grooming. For some reason my dog had bitten the groomer, and they said he had " behavior issues towards groomers." we tried a new groomers and we did not have this issue on the contrary his new groomer said, " he was well behaved and he was not aggressive." Not sure what this petsmart has or is doing to pets such as mine. Not recommending this place .. AT ALL

Just got a new puppy and have had to make several visits to this store over the last 2 weeks. This is a great location with knowledgeable staff. The store is always clean and everything is pretty easy to locate. It is a smaller location, so their stock isn't as expansive as others, but they have all of the essentials. I'm glad that I have this store close by.

My cat looked exactly the same. It seemed like the groomer sprayed spray on her and that’s it. I never got called after 1.5 hours so I walked in to wait and the groomer who I left my cat with walked from the other side of the store texting…. No idea who my cat was with. She also returned to us still wet. Very displeased, waste of money in my opinion.

Love this place. I took my dog, Leo, to Christy for grooming and she is AMAZING. If you need someone who is nice, welcoming, and will treat you and your dog with respect. Go see her!! She has so much patience. I also did some shopping in this store and everyone in there was so helpful and answered all my questions that I had. 5 Star Rating for you!!

We moved from out of state and were surprised how long it takes to get a grooming appointment. We were happy to get on in a week, but now we know why. Very choppy cut, and long hair around the mouth was left, so it hangs on his tongue. Ugh! We didn’t noticed it when we picked him up, or we would have said something.

I had my Foxy go here for her first bath and trim. She seemed to love it. My son thought it was cool to get to watch through the window at the grooming station! Everyone was nice and seemed genuinely concerned with both dog and customer satisfaction. The store was also very clean and all employees very friendly.

I purchased a harness for my German Shepherd puppy at this location. It took him less than a week to figure out how to chew it off. I brought it back hoping to exchange it, but not expecting to. Without any argument they took back the old one and allowed me to exchange for a more secure one. Highly recommend

The store I visited was a little shopped out, which is to be expected considering its after Christmas. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negative, as mentioned, was that i could not find the items i needed to fully complete my new habitat for my bearded dragon. Good visit all around though.

I usually go here for supplies for my kitty. Sometimes they have what I want in stock and other times they don't. They do have good sales and that is what I watch out for when I am needing supplies and treats. The biggest issue I have is that they don't have enough registers open at checkout.

Nice selection and some good sale items. They need to work on their checkout system. Four employees around one register because customer account not coming up the correct way while other customers wait in line. Manager there too. No apology for the extended wait just high fiving each other.

This is my One Stop Shop for all my cats needs. My cat is on a specialty diet and PetSmart is the only place other than online that I can find the food. The prices are good and if you can that's what you need on sale you can almost match online prices. Other convenient locations too!

The cashier didnt know what he was talking about. He sd this was universal wormer for cats n its not. I needed tape worm medicne. I had to make sure it was right kind of medicne. Had to ask for a sack. They're an expensive store. But u get what u pay for. Ok not good experience.

Very unhelpful... And the vet clinic Banfield says they're a nationwide outfit but won't refill a prescription from one office to the next and claimed they couldn't get her vet records so they wanted to charge me for an additional visit.. doesn't sound like a network to me...

The staff at Banfield are fantastic. Love the people at this location more so than the 100 Oaks store. Everyone here cares about the pets they see and try to make your experience a pleasant one. It's the only vet, and pet store, my husky has ever actually enjoyed visiting.

My daughter & I came to this store upon opening the other morning and was greeted as soon as they opened! The gentlemen offered us a shopping cart and asked if we needed any assistance. The store was clean but above all, the employees were SO FRIENDLY!!!!!! Thank you!

We ordered a giant pet crate online and picked it up in the store. They had it waiting by the door on a cart when we arrived and were very helpful. The staff are friendly and make great suggestions. The store itself is clean, fully stocked, and seems well managed.

Stopped in for some dog food the other day and as I was getting ready to approach an associate (Catalina) I overheard her gossiping about a coworker to another associate. I was very turned off by the lack of professionalism and drove to hermitage instead.

Great experience, was shopping for dog food for an abandoned dog,Clerk suggested cheaper brand food but dog is suffering from malnutrition nutrition needs the higher protein to gain weight. Plus I got him a big knuckle to chew on keep him pacified.

Decent variety of specialized pet foods, toys and other needs. I love Banfield and all the doctors at the hospital. Very uneasy however at the amount of customers i see going in and out without a mask. Though staff are following Covid procedures.

The grooming department here always takes great care of my girl! I love that they have so many appointment slots so I’m able to squeeze her in last minute! The overall store is clean and organized and always in stock! Friendly store team, too!

The first Petsmart was not very friendly so I didn't want any services there. Against my better judgment the second place nicked my dog neck twice and he didn't smell good. I will never, never ever take him there again or send anyone to them.

Will NEVER...EVER take my dog to Banfield again. Dr. Fenton was rude and incompetent. They should just stick to pet grooming...if you can trust them for that!! I won't!! Take your dog to a regular vet office. Don't waste your money here.

This location is by far my favorite! Out of 2 states and many cities, the staff at this location are the best. I always have a wonderful experience. This location isn't even the closest to me, but it's worth the little extra drive.

Had my wife take our dog to be groomed. Had a 10:30 apt ...2:30 and he's still not done. All they could tell us was they had alot of walk inside today.... Why did I go through the trouble of setting up an apt ?!
