My puppy needed grooming his hair grows fast. I took him some where else 3 times and they refused to cut the hair out of his face due to shots, due to overbooking etc. I called and was told he could come in today. They turned us away. So I called pet smart. We will be going back there. They assist owners in knowing what to do how to help and how to prepare for the next visit they cut him down gave him a bath dried him trimmed nails and every thing for a very low price. James was fantastic and I watched all the girls back there too all very loving and spoke calm to all dogs they we're working on. Thank you! UPADATE . L let's just be honest most times you return to a place that you gave a high rating to they don't do as good of a job the second time however James and everyone else there did just as good the second time as they did the first time I would not recommend anyone else any higher than I would this team. James and all the girls their thank you so much for all of your patients and your understanding and your sweetness and caring for our puppy allowing us to trust you and get quality service for much less then some of the more name brand companies out there( private owners) I do appreciate all of your work even though I insist on checking on my puppy every 2 hours which is more than annoying for you however your attitude towards me is nothing but grateful and appreciative

My dog and I went to training classes when I first adopted him. That was about two years ago, and I felt like we both needed to brush up on our skills. I took Bruce to be evaluated by "Happy," PetSmart's newest pet training instructor, because I didn't know if I should enroll him in the Intermediate or Advanced class. I thought the evaluation would take maybe 5-10 minutes. Happy easily spent 45 minutes, maybe even an hour, working with Bruce, getting to know him, doing a physical evaluation, going over every inch of him, checking for any quirks he might have, and evaluating his current skill set. I was completely blown away by his attention to detail and ability to immediately connect with Bruce, and I (obviously) wanted to enroll in his class immediately. Instead of an Intermediate or Advanced class, he suggested Bruce and I enroll in a Therapy Dog class. After 6 weeks of training, I have a completely different dog. I feel far more connected to him, he is much calmer in social situations, he is more in-tune with, and responsive to, my commands... Happy is the greatest dog trainer I've ever met. So incredibly grateful for his help - we gained a true asset in our community when Happy started training at PetSmart here in Madison.

I actually started grooming my dog at home because it was like i could NEVER get the results i asked for here. I took a chance with them once again & made an appointment my dog here yesterday to get groomed due to me now being pregnant and being unable to groom him myself. I only asked for a little trim & fluff, and he came out with a bald fade & his face was cut very choppy. I was very upset. I called customer service and received a call from grooming; they said it was due to him being knatted. I was able to run a wire tooth comb thru him days prior to taking him tho... and usually with me cutting him at home, I’m able to comb him with a wire comb, untangle him and trim whatever knots off with shears and still get the results i asked for without him being bald :/ ....... his face had many longer pieces than shorter ones. It was so uneven and was a mess! I will say that the stores customer service was A1 with helping me with my compliant and getting a refund, though. No issues there!

My boyfriend and I came in the store today looking to get another Gecko for our home. He just recently got one the other day and as we asked the associate to help . He refused to sell us one because we didn't have a " proper" tank to have 2. Mind you they are babies and we planned on getting another tank we just wanted our Gecko not to be lonely. He didn't say it was a rule that he couldn't sell it to us he just refused even though we had told him we planned on getting another tank. This was highly unprofessional and I was very disappointed. He was rude to us and didn't even try to work out anything. I totally get that you want to make sure the animals are going to be safe but when you refuse someone the way he did it felt belittling. I was so upset I almost walked out without buying anything . Very disappointed in the reptile department. The guy was about 5'6 Caucasian male with dark brown hair and beard.

I placed the order for a product online and they gave me a confirmation number approximately 20 to 25 minutes later they said my order is ready to pick up. I drove from Murfreesboro all the way to Rivergate just to get there and they didn’t have my product And all the cashier said was “oh I’m sorry”but I spent my time and a few gallons of gas going from Murfreesboro to Rivergate to get this product. When I called the customer service number only thing they said was he was mistaken about the product. He thought he had it on the shelf. I’m sorry I’ve worked in retail for 37 years and we would not tell a customer we had a product if we did not have it and if we didn’t have it, we offered a substitution only thing I got was I’m sorry which did not pay for my time or the amount of gas I used to get there very disappointing with Petsmart.

Positives: The store was clean and there was plenty of up-front parking available. Negatives: We waited 15 minutes for assistance and left after 45 min with ZERO assistance. The Customer Service deserves one star, if that! The cashier who rang us up could have cared less to the point of NOT explaining the rewards program. He said to ask about it on our next visit. (There will be NO next visit.) The prices were outrageous and not one thing we purchased was placed under the correct price tag for said product. Everything we needed as a new kitten owner was answered and all supplies were purchased through Amazon. THIS PetSmart is a PetNOT! That would explain why there is PLENTY of parking!

Great, friendly trainer!! However, all products in store are overpriced. Some are sold for half on Amazon. Cashiers aren't helpful or friendly. We had a coupon for 15% off tick and flea and 20% off the rest of the store good June 1-4 and they wouldn't let my husband use it June 1. He bought the products anyway. June 2 I went in asking if they'd adjust our receipt, and the manager came and asked if we were buying anything else and how much it cost before she'd approve it. Then she only approved the 20% off for one item, not the whole ticket. Is it company policy or not??? Why do your employees lie about when we can use coupons when it's clearly printed??? Will never return!!!

I think I went there last month to purchase a baby bottle for a kitten and I needed a can of milk so I asked the lady for help and she directed me to a bunch of things that I didn't need handed me cat food my arms were loaded so I had to tell her honey I need a bottle and one can of milk please so she angrily turned around and showed me the direction and I got what I needed on my own so it's a good place to get your products but the lady I was in contact with she just was in a bad mood or having a bad night that's all so they're not that bad people have good days and bad days and I'm fine with that I went on about my business and got things done. I took my puppy in to be groomed I told the tech I want my baby to look like a female yorkie because last time she didn't get wash up good and was shaved like a boy. I let her hair grow back she still had black on her coat they cut it all of shaved her real low didn't shave her private part made her look like a poodle. I got a full refund trying to book her at a different location they told me she was not a good fit and couldn't book her for any services anymore. I don't understand because there tech messed her up. When picking her up they had her on the ground in other dogs hair instead of handing her to me. So sad.

Very rude middle aged woman working in the fish department. Short brown hair. She was telling me I couldn’t put six neon tetras in a 20 gallon tank. That they were all going to die. Neon tetras only grow to “1 and are schooling fish that need to be kept in a minimum group of 6 or they can get stressed out. 20 gallons is plenty enough room for now. She then told me they were going to die anyways and just kept rudely saying “make sure you bring the bodies back in with you when they die.” I had my 4 year old and 3 year old with me. It was very uncomfortable. I won’t likely be back to this location.

I have been going to this Petsmart for ages, its a great place for pet supplies. I also noticed, instead of nicknames like teddy bear or panda for the hamsters, they have the correct names, long haired or short haired syrian. They even have chinese dwarf hamsters, which most pet stores ive seen dont have. They also keep all the animals in good conditions from what ive seen. Also a very good place to get pets groomed ive watched the groomers groom dogs and even when a dog panicks, they are very good at calming them. They all treat the animals very nicely and its great :)

The Banfield Pet Vet people are awesome, I didn’t read my confirmation message that informed me about the new curb-side pickup and when I arrived I went in and the receptionist informed me that they would pick up my baby(dog) from the car, needless to say I was very upset not to be in the examination room, but the vets assistant was so nice and my puppy went to her like she knew her, they explained everything and put me at ease. Things are so different due to this Covid-19, but I adjusted and so can you. This is a great location, and I will definitely visit again.

I bought an aquarium from this location and the young man was great! However, went back to get fish today and the young lady working in the fish section, Saturday around 2 or 3 was very rude and lacked proper communication skills! In fact, she seemed to have some sort of issue with people of color! My family and I exited the store and spent our $100 at Petco! And although we are one family, one customer, just imagine how many customers you have lost and will lose with employees such as that young lady! It's not what you say all the time but how you say it!

Clean store clean bathrooms and polite helpful customer service. I got myself 2 fish. As I was talking to the young gentleman that was getting my fish bagged and explained to him my concerns in my tank. He was very helpful and told me what to get for the issues I was having. There was only 2 young gentleman there working because they were short staffed but let me tell you these boys worked together to help the customers in the store. We were all patient because we seen how hard they were working together. They really did an amazing job

I really like your store! It's so big I assume some ppl have a pet for every day of the week. I bought a really nice cat tree for my two cats. They like to sharpen their nails on it and my little one sleeps on top. Five stars would be given if I could find the litter closer to me. It is a little impractical to drive close to 30 minutes to pick up litter. I like to look at the cats waiting to be adopted and I enjoy talking to them. Those "temptations" treats made my oldest cat WILD! They may have "speed" in them??

I have found the people that make appointments and handle the front desk very efficient, friendly and helpful. Pat is wonderful to talk to about my dog's problems when I've needed advice. The vets are professional, knowledgeable and caring at the Banfield in Goodlettsville on Gallatin Pike. I have been taking my Chihuahua there for over 10 years. I am satisfied with the Wellness Plan that covers 2 checkups a year. It allows me to take my pet in for any problems at no additional charge, except for meds and some tests.

Love this location. They always help me quickly and happily. I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM A MILLION REVIEWS BUT I WILL JUST EDIT MY FORMER 5 STAR REVIEW. THEY JUST SAVED MY SNAKES LIFE. Got my beardie from here, he's doing fine now that I treated him for the respiratory infection he got while he was here. They keep water bowls in the bearded dragon enclosures, which isn't safe for the animal. They need a specific, low humidity in their tank. Either they don't know or they don't care, and either way that's wrong. Only reason I give it three stars is because I've been able to get a lot of lights for my beardie from here since the ones I usually order don't always come in on time.

The lady at the fish station was extremely helpful. She gave great advice and truly cares that as a customer, I can properly care for my fish. She was awesome. A little on the pricey side but to me it was worth it because the lady spent so much time with me. She never rushed me and let me choose every fish I wanted. She didn't just get the quantity I wanted, she made sure I was happy with the ones I was going to buy. Based on our interaction alone, I'd go back.

The cashier he said he was a manager was very rude he kept looking at me like you could attack me sometimes. I didn't have the right receipt so thank God they had all my information you want to make sure it wasn't fraud. I have been a member of PetSmart since I've had my dog I stopped at the one in Port St Lucie Florida constantly and I feel like I was not treated fairly. He needs to get away from the register and do stock.

It's a pretty good pet store, but they could do to increase their selection of both non-traditional pets and pet supplies. All in all though I would have to say that this PetSmart is high quality with good? Service. I would recommend this to other pet owners. Additionally their grooming service does a good job and treats the animals well. I do not use their vet service here though, I use a local small business owner.

Have been a Petsmart customer for decades. Never used their grooming services before, but just acquired a 4 month old Maltese/Bichon puppy. Counter girl argued that the vaccines weren't up to date, while they are, and just had a horrible attitude towards us. We got the veterinarian to come explain our paperwork to them and the grooming personnel argued with the vet. Now I don't even want them grooming my new puppy.

I was soo busy rushing, my son just started baseball. I ended up leaving my son's helmet at the store.. 2 days later I thought about 30 min before they was closing and I noticed I didn't see nobody there from the other day but 1 person. Long story short they was closing and everyone there went out there way to find it . Let's just say I was thankful .we got it and I couldn't stop smiling all night. TEAM WORK ##

Not a bad location, but certainly not great. Consistently out of small and large crickets, with no real knowledge of when they're going to get more (have been given different answers on multiple occasions), and generally difficult to find anyone to help grab quick feeders and such. They do offer some grab bags of these, which can be great, if the crickets are not dead/dying from being in a bag too long.

Came in today to get my little poodle groomed. She had never been there before. She had been going to a groomer in Madison for 2 years and before that a groomer in Madison for 7 yrs. Mimi is a anxious dog when it comes to groomers so I don't like having to find a new one.i have to say bridget saw her today and she came out looking fabulous. I will definitely will be going back to see her.

Good layout in the brightly lit store, but the only staff I saw were behind the registers. Also, as is typical of a pet and pet supply store, there was a strong chemical smell. I saw several pets with the people, and they were all well behaved, no barking or running off. I'm not sure who manages the parking area, but its a bit rough, like most paved spots in the Nashville area these days.

My dog has been going here since she was a puppy, now 1 1/2 years old. When we started going the grooming service was good. The last few times she wasn't well groomed at all. This last time they refused to clip her nails because she was being difficult, we have never had this issue before. She also has a wet coat and seems to need brushing. Will not use their grooming service again.

The store itself is great. Banfield is amazing, we've always vetted there. Raining classes are awesome. Uncle Stinky is the BEST. The grooming however....we're on hour FIVE waiting on my 2 pups to be finished. Never in their lives has a bath, dry, and nails EVER taken this long. I checked in at 3.5 hours and was told an hour more. It has now been 5 hours and I still don't have them.

Had to drive to this location because my local one doesn't carry as much prescription cat food. They were well-stocked on a variety of both brands I needed. We'd never had to go through prescription food before and one of the employees (I forget his name) was absolutely phenomenal on helping us and the ladies at Banfield were helpful, as well, in getting the "cards" done up.

My wife and I signed our dog Ryder up for their beginners puppy class. I was skeptical at first but our instructor was awesome and really made it fun. Our trainer was Robert ''Happy'' Allen and really worked well with the mixed personalities of each dog and dog owner. I have and will continue to recommend him to friends and family even if they have to travel to do so.

Terrible service. I took my poodle to get groomed here and they never called me to pick him up I called three times to be told he wasn’t ready yet, they never called it took them SIX hours to groom a 6 month old SMALL puppy, GROOMING SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. I hate how expensive everything is at this store. Honestly I could handmake better quality toys for cheaper....but I do like their friendliness, helpfulness, and knowledgeable staff. They also have a HUGE selection of different brands and formulas! They even helped me charge my phone for a moment so I could get home. :D I wish they had a closer bus stop.

Actually one of my 2 girls most favorite places to go when we go out on a night out. They love the kittens, hamsters, and animals in general. We buy our dog food here and recently a 10 gallon fish tank. The staff is always cool and knows what they are talking about for the most part. Can't speak for all locations, but the Rivergate store is good to go!!

Should have gone to Walmart. Product i purchased was miss-labeled on the shelf so cost me $7 more at checkout. Huge line behind me so i wasn't about to waste everybody's time. Item i purchased could have bought for half of what i paid if i had gone to Walmart. Fish for sale all have visible parasite issues....highly recommend other places to buy stuff.

The service was great but the prices in here are just astronomical. I only bought a laser pointer toy and it broke as soon as I pressed the on button. If the prices are gonna be that high, the items at least need to be good quality. The small animal supply section could also be labeled more clearly because I struggled to find a few things.

Made it very easy for me to get my prescription food for my cat, even though she didn't like the first flavor. They were very understanding, and helped me find a flavor she might like based on her previous food preferences. Everyone I talked to wished her well. She's eating again! So hopefully this food will make her better

My wife and I were getting many items as we are soon to have a puppy. As we came up to checkout Susan, the cashier, asked if we knew about the puppy guide. I was skeptical at first, but she explained it very well, and I was sold. It ended up saving us a ton, and we were so thankful that Susan was so knowledgeable and kind!

Super understaffed. They keep multiple solitary animals in cages. Leopard geckos are kept in a super tiny cage on repti carpet with multiple other geckos differing in size. (This can lead to injury or death more times than not). Ball pythons are on wood shavings which can cause improper shedding and respiratory issues.

Very clean store. Was so entertained by the kittens. Went there to get some Blue hog food. That is expensive food. Can't blame Pet smart for not offering a sample bag so dogs could try it. The smallest bag is 4.5 lbs and 24.99. That is not good. I won't be buying anymore Blue dog food. My dogs do not like it.

With misgivings and trepidations I signed up my very rambunctious Aussie for classes. By the end of the first class he was behaving better! I highly recommend Robert Happy Allen as a trainer. He really knows dogs, and can turn "I don't think this is going to work" into "What a fun dog to hang out with!"

Got a new dog bed here for my big pup. Went to Ollie's and Ross's first got a good bed at Ollie's for my small old dog. But really just spent a few dollars more for a much better bed for a bigger dog by going to PetSmart. They also take care of all of our pups medical needs. Really great staff here.

This vet was listed as number 1 for emergency vets near me, however I walked in with my dog with bleeding that would not stop, and they refused us. Suggested I drive my dog to a vet 30 min away, even though they have always been our pets vet in the past. Luckily my dog is fine but no thanks to them.

From fish to pet accessories the staff that works in store has a knowledge of what you may need to use, care or heal your loved one. I rarely have had an employee of a pet store that had any knowledge of the pets they sell. They are extraordinary helpful and take time to Answer any and questions.

I got two mice last night the employes were amazing they were really nice and their care for the animals wayyyy better than pet co . they do not sell their mice for snake food and the animals were unique you can't tell that at pet co because they have no room there anyways I TOTALLY RECCOMEND

Guy with an accent was a complete @$$ about a bearded dragon. Had absolutely no clue what he was talking about and refused to sell me one because I had multiple dragons at home in separate tanks. Stated that I "might" house them together and he just couldn't sell me one for that reason.

Bridget C at the PetSmart in Madison did an excellent job grooming my fur baby! She did EXACTLY what I wanted her to do! He looked so handsome. We had a negative experience in 2015 at the PetSmart grooming and I never let him be groomed again till Sunday Nov. 6 2022. #FaithRestored

Always very impressed with how friendly the staff is. Last time we went they did the best job ever on my dogs nail trim. Seriously never been better. Banfield staff is great as well. My dog always needs a serious scrub after returning from their kennels from her check ups.

I'm 90% sure they didn't wash my dog. Paws were still brown. He was still shedding. He still had crust on his eyes additionally they snipped the left side of his whiskers. We didn't order a cute and there was no need. 1st and last time using then for grooming service.

Good store, there's normally only one person at the check out which slows things down a bit. But friendly and helpful staff. It's never too busy in there. Go during the PM hours, less noisy during the day which is a great time to bring your animal.

Very poor customer service. Tim is the manager who wouldn't replace a $5.25 bag of rat treats that was left out of our bag. We even called them that night and we were told to come back in and get them. It's not even the money that bothers

I usually get great service here for the most part and they usually have what I need. The reason they get 4 stars is because the lines at checkout sometimes take longer than I feel like they should. Other than that I enjoy shopping here.

Had Yoshi, take there beginner dog training course. The classes was over 5 weeks. The classes were amazingly well done. Our trainer Happy, he is amazing, very knowledgeable and Yoshi loved him at the end :-) Will be back to do more! ;-)

Staff is friendly but the animals should he receiving a better standard of care, in my opinion. I used to be a manager in a pet store and if our habitats looked like some of those did, corporate would have written me up in a heartbeat.

Don’t bring your dog here unless it is a poodle or a small dog. They will automatically decline service from a bark and say “ due to them not feeling safe.” If this was just grooming for puppies they have that in their policy’s!
