BUYER BEWARE! I write this review specifically in regards to some sheisty business they've got going on. They had some good products and nice people, but I won't be shopping here again after my experience. I got 4 items - dog food, dog litter bags, a new tag for my dog, and dog shampoo. I always note prices when I'm buying, but I almost didn't catch that I was overcharged for 3 out of 4 of my items. It was subtle... a dollar more on dog food. A dollar more on litter bags. 50 cents more on the dog tag. Such small amounts that it would be easy for people not to notice. I happened to look at my receipt going out to the parking lot and noticed that 3 of the 4 items had come up at a higher price when scanned. I went back in, took pictures of each of the items, and showed the clerk. She dispassionately checked off the receipt like she'd done this before and refunded my money. I explained it wasn't about the small amount of money, but it was about the principle. I asked if she wanted to keep my receipt to show management so they could update their prices in the system, so this wouldn't happent to others. She said, "Oh no... that's okay." Kinda scandalous! I can see this happening to customers here and there, all day long. Not enough for them to notice, or even if they do, by the time they notice they are home and aren't going to drive back for a couple bucks. That happens to 100 people every day? You've got a few hundred extra. That happens over a month, over a year? You've got thousand of dollars in extra revenue generated for moderate "overages". Again, buyer beware. Check your receipts, or better yet.... just steer clear.

I really feel like this store has the best selection of any of three pet supply stores within a half mile radius. We have a lot of choices but this store is my choice! The people that work there are always friendly and helpful. I recently adopted an 8-week-old puppy. Stopped by the store to buy all of the necessities and some of the not so necessary for my new fur baby. One of the young women in the store took the time to introduce me to their puppy coupon book. It has tons of coupons, it does cost you 20 bucks but I saved $25 using coupons from it on that very first visit. They carry all of the premium quality brands of pet food, dry and wet. Some of the median level brands that are always a better price. Whatever you choose to feed your pet, they have it. Their selection of leashes and harnesses is the best of the three stores in the area. Their toy selection as well as treat selection is also the best. I come here quite a lot to fill door dash orders for customers, so I am an expert telling you this is a great store! In addition to the usual pet supplies. They also have a pet hotel, pet hospital and pet grooming facility in the store. Check the website listed in this maps listing to get more details on pricing on those services.

Never again at this Pet hotel. The staff is completely incompetent and do not know how to take care of cats. My cat was boarded and he has paw caps on the front and they kept saying that they couldn’t take care of him because they were scared of him and couldn’t give him his food. Now we are out of town on vacation and had actually dropped him off a day before we left. But we didn’t hear from them until two days later telling us we needed to pick him up because they didn’t know how to take care of him. I have lost all trust in them. Almost ruined my vacation because I was so worried about my cat. I had somebody from Rover pick him up and take him home because I didn’t trust that they could take care of him. This cat is a ragdoll. The sweetest cat ever and they can’t figure it out?? The Rover sitter didn’t understand why they were having so many issues with him as he’s been doing great with her. I feel so guilty for leaving my cat there. He looked so sad when he dropped him off.

My kid wanted to get a fish as a present to his mom. So he goes around and picks a $7.50 fish, the kind that sticks the wall and cleans the algae. The guy wouldn't sell us the fish because the tank we had was too small and didn't live up to the fish's standard of living. We went through a couple of more options that my kid was asking for and we kept hearing no. My son was getting very disappointed about the whole thing and since he is 5 he doesn't understand why he can't have it. I told my son hey this guy was being mean and doesn't like giving his fish away. When we were finally allowed to buy a fish the guy informs me this fish should last. I said what does that mean, 10 years? He replied, no maybe a few weeks. He walked away and i was really annoyed. For a few weeks (or less) sell me the 7 dollar fish. I generally like walking into this store but I can't handle when employees try to hold themselves above the customers. I do have Petco a couple of blocks away.

This review is for the Pets Hotel. I have had my dog stay at many different pet hotels, Rovers, and PetSmart Pet hotels. This was definitely one of the best experiences I've had. The check in was lovely, they combed my dog to check for fleas and even checked his teeth. Other pets hotels did not do this. They we're very professional and kind to him when he was afraid to go back with them. I never had issues getting a hold of someone on the phone. When I picked my dog up he was completely normal and not panicked like he normally gets. Then they gave us a report card that told me if he was able to go to the bathroom normally, eat normally, and about his activities. I was so pleased! I will definitely use this PetSmart again.

WOW went in today looking for worms and crickets . Clueless of what or how, when ,or how much to feed a 3 month old bearded dragon . Let me tell you I found HAILEY she helped me , I would say so much , so helpful, all the info she gave me , about the worms the crickets. About my little guy “bearded dragon “ answered all my questions , and gave me tips , geez she was simply the best ! I wish other pet stores had more HAILEY’s , so kind and helpful ! Let me tell you I did not want to handle the crickets so she was so extra nice in handling the crickets and putting them in a container I purchased wow. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE SEEN N GOT IN A PET STORE !!! Thank you HAILEY

I was skeptical the first time I brought my pit-bull here. This was back of March of this year, 2021. It was first her and I had ever been apart. I think back now it was a lot more difficult for me to leave my dog in boarding for 2 nights than it was for my dog. I think she had a blast. My dog is friendly. Maybe overly friendly. The services here are good and the staff is helpful and nice. This will be my second time using them this coming weekend 8/20. All of my interactions leading up to the reservation and down to pick up was very smooth, and the transition was effortless due to knowledge of their staff. I recommend this place, the prices are totally reasonable compared to other places.

1. A printed sign states buy 1 Litter and get a 2nd at 25% off. It didn't state which cat litter brand so I had to go around the store to get confirmation. 2. PetSmart Purina Tidy Cat Light Weight Litter 17.5 lbs unit is way too expensive. 3. Checkout at Almaden PetSmart has only one person checking out customers when there is a long line with 3 other registers unoccupied. Finally another checkout stand will open after waiting too long on the original line. 4. See item 3 above: Why in the world PetSmart wouldn't keep at least 2 registers open on the weekend is beyond me. Somebody should look at Trader Joe's or Costco and see how those organizations get their customers checked out pronto.

I actually was there to take my dog for a visit to Banfield hospital. They have a remarkable staff there. The people are so friendly and helpful and so kind. The vet took her time with me today. Explaining everything and every option. I have their best Wellness Plan as my dog is older now. I’m so grateful for the wonderful plan. I never have to worry anymore about taking my dog in for anything because all visits are covered. Today she was there because she had a seizure. Because she is insured, my cost today was zero. She had X-rays that were quite expensive if I had to pay. Last year the insurance paid for a heart study.

Very nice but your prices are going sky high. Unaffordable grooming prices and can no longer go to doggie day camp. Raising prices a dollar or two is very understandable in these times. But raising prices $8 and more is unconscionable an unfair especially since you took your coupons away and raising prices on everything else. Emily and I are going to miss the good old days 10 years ago I loved coming to PetSmart I started her in your classes, looked forward to the grooming coupons and attending doggie Day Camp 2 times per week. The associate helping at checkout and return was very nice and helpful, that's why I gave the 3 stars. Besides that, other things weren't as good. First of all the store smells really bad of animal waste not cleaned up. Next, I saw there is a pet hotel inside so I wanted to ask about how it works, pricing etc. One associate came out and said she doesn't know much so she'll get the manager. So I waited and waited, other associates came out to the counter but just ignored me. After about 15 minutes or so, I left. It wouldn't be a good choice anyway because I would be concern about cleanliness.

We bring our 3 babies here frequently for both day camp and boarding. The staff are very friendly and always very professional. A shout out to the manager, Heather Rand, who we've established a great relationship with! We trust her and her team! They have never let us down and our dogs love them all! Trust is a hard thing to establish when it comes to leaving your most precious companions with strangers. But, I must say, we don't worry a bit when we drop our babies off at this Pets Hotel. We would highly recommend them!

Worst Pet smart in the City of San Jose, why shop at a place where you get ignored when trying to simply chose a fish. EDGAR on the management side is the rudest most racist person in the store. I was being mistreated under all circumstances. I’ll love to take over your job. He must be humbled please Petsmart listen to my words. He is the guy who is quite tall and colored hair. This is my favorite pet store; and yes I've been to them all. Lots of sales and they always have the product I need. Lines are short and move quickly. They are always raising money to help animals, which is close and dear to my heart. Store is always well stocked, clean, and organized. Lastly, it makes me heart smile to see doggies in the aisles picking out their own favorite treats and toys. But, I'm the only one that has a traveling snuggle muffin of a kitty with me.

The store has an amazing assortment of items, especially for reptiles. I would have given 5 stars if not for the rude employee who "helped" us and the cashiers who just kept ignoring us and walking away when we asked for help. They know very little and were not patient with even a couple with children that we saw which they were being very rude to as well. Would go back for the selection of items but almost don't want to because of the employees.

5 STARS!! For this amazing team of staff members at the PetSmart Hotel! They are wonderful in keeping their guest happy. My dog enjoyed the day camp and I appreciated the clean facility, the thoughtful care, the friendly smiles, warm greetings, and their thorough checks at check-in of their guest. I come here time to time for dog food which they always have in stock but overall cleanliness has gone down. Biggest letdown has to be their grooming. Although staff is nice, it’s a very slow check in process now, grooming area is messy and odor is unpleasant (I know it’s dog grooming but there is no airflow..at all). Also, my dog came home with fleas :(!!

My two boxers LOVE overnight and day camp. They stay frequently (2-8 days/month) and have made friends with the other pups. Most importantly though, my pups get excited every time we walk into the store and they are always happy to see the staff because they are happy to be there, I know that I can trust the staff.

First time for my Chica's grooming here in 8 years after my horrible experience with the The Plant grooming salon. Tabatha rocks. Chica never looked so good until now. Looking forward to bringing my Jego in a month or so. I'm sure Tabatha will make him look very good as well. Very rare nowadays.

We use the banfield vet here, groomers, and doggie daycare. They have been very sweet and acomodating to our dogs and even took our Jimmy when I was in labor with no reservation. Dog kennel is very safe and we've never had an issue with injury which was a problem we had at a previous kennel.

The hotel had very friendly staff. They matched the dogs for doggie day camp in size and temperment. Our dogs hadn't lost weight and seemed quite happy. They were very tired when they did get home. I highly recommend the hotel.

Took good care of my cat while I boarded him for 6 days. They contacted me before they do anything extra when my cat rejected medication. As we all know that nervousness can kill a cat. I am happy that they actually care.

I had to wait a while for an employee in the outside grooming area but the groomer was very good in explaining how they cut the dogs hair. They even put a bow in her hair, which I thought was a nice touch.

Their store brand Authority is a very good dog food. My dogs love it. I was looking for non grain free food for a sick puppy per our vet. Grain free is not the best thing for your pets.

Normally buy fish from here and there’s about a 50/50 chance of the fish dying but quarantining and using general cure seems to decrease the likelihood of your fish dying

Fair price for genuiea pig food. Staffs were very helpful. They have some hamsters and some genuiea pigs but limited quantity. Lot of fishes.
