Cant help but notice that most of the 1 star reviews are from the fish/reptile/rodent dpt like this one. Take note upper management. Went a few months ago to show my 2 year old a hamster. My wife asked the freckled girl in that department if we could see one very cordially and the girl responded, “you don’t need to be rude about it”. We said nothing and carried on thinking maybe she’s having a bad day. Went today with my children to look at fish and the same girl was working. When she appeared to be done with another customer I said,” when you have a moment please.” She snarled back a yes and wandered off to do something more for the other customer which was fine. When she did come to help us her annoyance was not masked in the slightest, I was asking about a certain fish and was told it required a 100 gallon tank, I asked why it was in a small tank there and she replied, ”obviously we are just a pet store” while rolling her eyes. This person should not be in customer service. Never have I been spoken to in such a manor by any sales clerk ever. We continued to discuss an issue I had with my tank at home and I will add that we are quite easy going people, this employee thinks it is ok to condescend to people with such an angry demeanor. We walked out and will never be back.

Ordered an aquarium stand online, their online page stated they had lots in stock. I drove in from out of town to pick up only to be told the shelf was on their shelves and they were unwilling to get it for me. I stated the payment had already gone through and the manager insisted it would be refunded by the end of the day, it was not. The payment went through a third party so now I’m fighting to get the full amount back because it shows online they have lots of stock and the other company can’t understand why PetSmart would be so lazy to not just get me the shelf out off of the shelves. The manager- Kathryn was completely useless, didnt even apologize for the inconvenience. I don’t live in Edmonton and only drove in to come to this PetSmart because the ones closer to me didn’t have stock and told me to order there and drive in. Won’t be making that mistake again. Edit to add: I called them and another worker was super helpful and stated she’d get Kathryn to grab the stand for me. Kathryn again refused, INSISTED my payment would be returned. Still waiting on PetSmart to confirm the cancelation. Even though they DO have stock, it’s just pure laziness and horrid customer service on Kathryn’s part. Will never shop a PetSmart again, thank god for Amazon.

Sept 18, 2023 at 8pm, store quite empty, dog training going on in the back of store. I have never been bullied, barked at, and treated with such disdain for buying a bag of bird seed or anything else, anywhere. The cashier threw my 15kg bird seed bag into my cart and said "you're getting it the way I give it to you!" That's after asking her nicely if she wouldn't mind putting it back the way I had it perched on the cart's edge. I'm 5ft2in, 60yr old senior who has upper shoulder & back pain. I've never put big bags into the cart, only on the edge of the cart for easy handling. I physically can't grab a 15kg bag without throwing half my body into the cart. I've owned big dogs for years and always have to buy the biggest bags of dog food. So I know from experience, my limitations and how to deal with them. Not once was I disrespectful or raised my voice to her. I even asked her if she could find some other staff who might be able to help. But why she did she do what she did t and bark at me??? The manager and her must be best friends because although the manager seemed a bit warmer, she has expressed the same contemptuous, disrespectful attitude. This store has a high turnover rate. Go elsewhere!!!! Choose other pet store companies.

It's my boy Thor birthday. I went to Pet Smart yesterday and I bought a Canopy Cot for him. Today I went to buy the dual layered mat for my boy Thor as a gift. There was one layered dual bed mat was displayed and placed inside the Canopy. I asked the front cashier if they have more of the mat and she politely requested for someone to come and help me. When the lady approached me to help, I asked her where can I get the same mat. She showed me all the mat which was not inflated. I asked her if I will need a pump to inflate it or how does it work. This was the response from her: "I don't know how it works, there should be an instruction on it.," The lady was the manager of the store and her name was Carolyn. She was very loud and rude. I even asked her if she doesnot know how it works she can ask other staff to help. She kept on yelling and said I told you I don't have any staff to help you. I How is that my fault if you are short of staff and not willing to help and support the customer. I went to buy a gift for my boy not to have such a rude, loud manager and ruined my day.such a bad customer service especially from a manager. Big shame.

So disappointed today. 1st time since my dog was a puppy. Now, he's 16 yrs old. Got his vaccines updated so they can book him for an appointment today. Dropped him off and told me to come back within 3hrs. Or if no one calls me, probably they'll be busy to just come before 430 pm since they are closed at that time. When I picked up my son from school. I got a call from them stating "If you can pick up your dog but he's half done." I was confused because that was the first time it happened. So, I picked him up. They said He wasn't staying still. They were able to cut around but unable to finish him. They suggested for me to book him with a private groomer around St. ALBERT because No other Petsmart store will groom him. Or ask the vet to prescribed medication to sedate him. I was calm and see what else they say. She was saying they didn't have any record of him (My Dog) there at Petsmart. I told her you have asked me if I wanted the same cut from the last appointment. How can they tell me he has no records. I am no expert. I made that appointment with them knowingly they could've done it professionally.

Not worth even 1 star but had to put something. Have been going to them for 13 years, even though they cut my little girls armpit and she got stiched I even went back. IN THE 13 YEARS I WENT THERE FIRST TIME EVER I was late 15 minutes for the groom appt and they would not take us. treated us terribly. Said my groomer was busy already with another pup. THEY KEEP THOSE POOR ANIMALS IN THOSE CAGES FOR 3 HOURS while they groom 15 other dogs. My poor girl was so stressed from all the yelling and bad treatment. TANYA was so rude and acted as if we committed a crime. NEVER GO THERE THEY DO NOT LIKE ANIMALS THERE. They only want your money they dont care about our fur babies!!!! Thank goodness for place like PET PLANET WHO ACTUALLY ARE ANIMAL LOVERS AND ONLY TAKE 1 PET AT A TIME INSTEAD OF KEEPING THEM LOCKED UP ON CAGES FOR A SIMPLE WASH AND GROOM!!! MANAGER WAS OBLIVIOUS OF ANY RULES THE GROOMING SALON EVEN HAD. AND TO TOP IT OFF THEIR POLICY ONLINE HAS NO MENTION OF THE 15 MINUTE LATE POLICY. THEY ARE ALL SO HIGH ON THEMSELVES THEY DONT CARE ABOUT ANIMALS AT ALL… TERRIBLE TERRIBLE PLACE!!!

I’m so disappointed with the service at this location. I waited for the associate, Kira, to finish with another couple. I did ask her a question while she was helping them so she was aware that I was there and waiting. She walked away after helping them which was disappointing and quite rude. I waited for 15 minutes during which a gentleman showed up and also waited. When Kira came back she helped the gentleman first. When I was finally able to ask for help she responded with “well we are closing in 2 minutes so you will have to come back tomorrow.” I ended up leaving the items I picked up at the till after the “manager” stated that they have closing duties and that is why she had disappeared and didn’t help me. I’m sorry but I am pretty sure that customers come before closing duties and she definitely was able to grab 3 fish before closing. I will never go to this location again and don’t even know if I will go to any PetSmart location again based on customer service at this location.

Went to Terra Losa location and shipment of bugs/worms was sitting in boxes. I asked for some worms that are already in containers and they would not open the boxes atthe time I was there. Was told to come back in 2 hours. I did not want to make a 2nd trip but I did and went back 2 hours later. When I arrived the 2nd time, the boxes were still in same place. I asked another lady if I could get some worms now and she told me they haven't unpacked them yet and to come back in a few hours. I told her I already waited 2 hours as advised previously and she looked around (for what I don't know) and didn't even try to assist or ask other staff standing around to assist. Very unorganized and staff unhelpful. I will not be coming to this store again. Wasted 2 trips going there for nothing. The boxes were right in front of them and nobody would help. Very disappointed in the service and work ethic here.

I love this Petsmart, compared to the other locations. The cashier at the front are usually very friendly; even when serving other customers, they make an effort to say hello. Grooming service: I brought my dog in for a Top Dog Bath & Brush with Elexis A. She did such an amazing job! He was so fresh when I picked him up, his coat and the way he smell was awesome! In addition, Blue (my doggo) and I have taken Kim’s (the dog trainer) intermediate obedience class/course. Lemme say she is so amazing with everyone and the dogs! I can’t thank her enough for the tips she’s given throughout the class. My dog loves her so much! I really like how she does smaller classes; rather than large groups. I feel like it allows her to observe more and advise corrections when needed. I’d recommend this PetSmart for training & grooming.

I stocked up on my favorite litter online, sometime back. I did so, because accessibility and pricewise it was better for us. Suddenly I ran out, my bad. Anyhow, the litter I like isn't that, highly accessible, but gross dusty clay litter. Yuck. After much experimenting, I have settled on, prefer and recommend, Nature's Miracle, corncob litter mixed with Silica Crystal's. (See photos) Anyhow, all Staff we encountered there, appeared knowledgeable and friendly. All my questions were easily answered, and they sell the Litter I for my Furbabies, at a comparable price as online (only the big bag). Ps. Definitely any quality Silica Crystals work, but this particular Corncob litter, and the Arm and Hammer Corn litter are the only 2 I recommend for safe use for pets, and members within your household.

Had an appointment to get my dog groomed, received an email that they cancelled the appointment. No phone call, just an email. When I called, she couldn’t explain why my appointment was cancelled. We scheduled another appointment. Showed up today for rescheduled appointment with the wrong proof of rabies shot (completely, absolutely my fault) said I would just go home and get the proper certificate. Was told they wouldn’t be able to fit me in anymore. No offer of a lesser package because it was going to take me 15 minutes to go home and back (I live super close), but they would still honour the discount they said they would give me for cancelling the first time. I don’t care about the discount, my dog needs a haircut!! Customer Service stinks. If I could give less than zero I would.

Great for finding brands of food not in the supermarkets. Lots of healthy choices. Very expensive though. If you are on a budget you are in the wrong store. You can find BONES WITH FILLING and just BONES for dogs FOR FREE AND ½ the PRICE you pay at Pet Smart AT CARET CAFE and BUTCHER SHOPS (paid $10 for a bigger filled bone at Caret Cafe, Pet Smart charges $18.99 and it is smaller). Treats are way over priced but service is great. They offer great services you can't find altogether elsewhere. They are also pet friendly so feel free to bring your well behaved pets with you. I have seen some bring their cats/dogs in to socialize with customers for a few hours at a time. Really is a one of a kind pet loving store!

The store itself is fine, but the grooming area is extremely unorganized and unprofessional. I brought my dog to get a nail trim, which is supposed to be a walk-in service. The lady I spoke to told me I needed to make an appointment to do that and said the website is wrong, it's no longer a walk-in service at this location because they're understaffed. I mentioned that the website didn't provide an option to book an appointment for nail trim, otherwise I would have made one. She replied, well now you know and walked away. I get being understaffed and changing service rules to suit staffing levels, but update your website or something. Definitely no need to be rude about it.

Very poor customer service! very slow service. And the tiny lady was so very rude.. to many questions about fish and aquarium,so very annoying,she so selfish & she’s not friendly person. She asking about how big their aquarium with fish in their store like how do I know it? she should be explain and say something about how to care aquarium and petting fish but she’s annoying to many questions and lastly she didn’t allowed me to get fish. And shes not carefully catch the fish in the net,she kills the fish.she’s really messy,she’s so mean a lot. I’m so really upset and irritated this young lady.. I will never go back here anymore. I’ll give her 0 star for my review.

Friendly helpful staff. Wish they would get their stock out on the shelves faster though so we don't have to move the carts with boxes in them to access what we require only to find out it's not on the shelf and most likely in the boxes that we're blocking the shelves. This is how you lose business and customers as they will go somewhere else if things are more accessible or readily available. There needs to be more staff on the floor as half the time I have to go to the till to have someone paged to small animals. It has to be commended though tho s when the store is not busy they actively search out customers to see if they require assistance.

I have been going here for years and have never had a problem. Today I called to see if I can return cat food without a bag or receipt.. (I always throw out the receipt and bag after putting food in a container as my cat always likes his food. ) The lady on the phone said I can return it as long as it was in some sort of bag.. I did this and they looked up my purchase date but the manager said no because it has to be in the bag I purchased the product in and also need the original receipt. I guess the one that was printed out was not good enough.. I will be sure to tell my friends who go there to simply not go to this location.

THIS OPINION IS ABOUT THE GROOMING SECTION. It could be the first time you go for grooming your pet, without knowing exactly the care prior to it, so the pet can arrive with quite a knot in its hair. They are not going to teach you, or even explain a bit, they'll just blame you loudly and publicly, very harshly and speak in very bad ways, especially a girl there, that was the worst, they are going to make you feel very bad about yourself. Worst customer care ever seen before. I will never go back and if someone asks me for a recommendation, I will send them far away from Terra Losa Petsmart.

The store is well laid out. Doggy needs one side, cats the other. Of course they also have fish supplies. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Some of the products we were purchasing were on sale but initially these prices weren't reflected on the cash register. This was resolved quickly. Next issue, we and other customers did have a wee challenge paying as their POS machines kept declining everyone's credit card. Hmm, maybe we all spent too much at Christmas, lol. It was rectified in less than 10 minutes. The staff really do make those a great place to shop.

You can apologize all you want, but the fact remains, an incident happened while my fur baby was in your care, and Tanya and Erica didn't say anything about her time at the Salon. When we arrived home, I notice blood on her nose. Informing clients that your pet may be put in a kennel for 30 minutes or longer is important information to convey beforehand. When you saw her in distress in the kennel, why didn't you remove her from the kennel?! So disappointed in how this whole situation was handled! How often does this happen? Goodbye, NOT PetSmart!

Customer service was absolutely horrid. The worker and manager working by the fish tanks were very rude. There was also some kind of unforeseen "policy" they had to follow which they could not show to the public. It kind of feels like they are trying to drive their customers crazy on purpose. Their explanations seem to contradict with their own policy. We told her the facts but she said she didn't believe us and wanted proof. HOW? Did we have to bring our tank to her??? It was a terrible experience. We will never come here ever again.

First time at this store. Not the first time I have problems at PetSmart. Multiple items with wrong prices, discounts that don't get applied at checkout because the promotion "is expired", even though the sale tag is still up. They would just run away with the tag in hands saying that the promotion is not up anymore. Teenager-looking girl at the front need some training to better assist their customers. If you're not happy with your job, go look for another. Grooming salon was fine and I'm glad they don't share reviews with the store.

Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this location. I seen a lot of positive interaction between the 2 associates working the fish area and other customers, even approached others to assist them. However, I had the one associate push the ladder into me 3 times while assisting another customer, and when I was the last one left, I was ignored and walked away from to complain about customers. So disappointed in this location. All I wanted was 1 shrimp that cost me an hour and a half round trip for nothing.

I can’t speak for the grooming services or training classes because I don’t own a dog but I’ve never had a bad experience from this location. I like that Pet Smart has a loyalty program that helps save some $$$. I’ve also been handed coupons for cat food from reps in the past while shopping which is a bonus! Their prices for litter and cat food are better than most places for the kind that I get. I have a pet store close to my house but will make the drive to this location to get the things I need.

this establishment is horrible. all your fish/snails carry ich, i’ve had about 5-10 die on me already. the ones from petland have been thriving. plants are covered in snail eggs. not to mention the rude staff you have, the only one i’ve come across who’s absolutely wonderful & a huge help is Emma. nice selection of stuff but for the love of god treat your aquatic life better & get some nicer staff as i’ve had 2 of your staff members be incredibly unprofessional in the way they talk.

So upset with our experience and the way we were treated like such an inconvenience by the young blonde woman in the fish/reptile area for asking her to count 200 crickets so we didn’t have to carry 15 air filled pre-made bags with half dead bugs. We were so upset by her cold, rude attitude and wanted to just get out so badly we completely forgot to pick up other things we needed and our moods and day were ruined. Extremely rude, and profiling staff. My partner went into this location today to pick up cat food, as soon as he walked in he heard an employee at the front go on her radio and say “this guy just walked in and looks sketchy, he might steal something”. Super rude and uncalled for, and even worse that you said it loud enough for everyone to hear. Don’t go to this location if you’re in sweats and a winter jacket cause apparently you’ll look sketchy.

Had the worst experience here time and time again. There is never more then one cashier, and the ladies at the groomers have a real holier then thou attitude- “we are the busiest groomers on the west side”. Good for you. Called a different service from the parking lot and they were so helpful. Never again- plus they barely have any selection. I always have good luck at homes alive around the corner.

On Saturday I came to pick up Some fish and was helped by the new girl jade and another girl named hailey, I shop here often and this is the best service I’ve received so far. They were both knowledgeable and quick with what I wanted and I was able to get proper information the people at pet land don’t know anything about fish but these two really know their stuff. I’ll definitely be back

A great place for first time pet owners such as myself. The staff was amazing and knowledgeable and helped us get the right supplies for our 6 week old kitten. The rewards program makes it easy to shop often and stack points while allowing for easy exchanges and returns. You can take your pet in with you to shop around getting them all the attention and cutesy stares.

Been coming here for a long time for grooming and I usually pick up something special for my dog while I’m there. Cashiers are never bad just never really stood out as an amazing place for customer service. I had Angela help me the other day at the till and she was so friendly I might just go a little further out of the way next time I need to restock on dentasticks!

December 19 2019 Took my dog in for a nail trim, I was very nervous on how my dog was going to handle this as I just got her not long ago and I don’t know how she does with nail trims. The lady’s working were very kind, they lifted up my 99lb dog and trimmed her nails and comforted her during the process. I am very happy and so is my dog Lexi.

She goes above and beyond in giving helpful training tips as well as giving great feedback! Petsmart Grooming was recommended to me by a friend a couple of years ago and I have been bringing my Wheaten Terrier X Rosie there ever since. They do a great job on Rosie each visit, and cater to her special needs (she’s a three-legged dog). Naomi @ the Terra Losa location does a great job on Rosie everytime. Would recommend!

Staff where great but selection was not good and you'd think that there selection of food for reptiles would be better. Overall decent for cats and dogs but if you are looking for items for more specialized pets go online. Reasoning is lack of selection and price gouging items I can by online for 1/5th of the price Canadian.

Good selection of pet supplies. Over the years, I've gotten supplies for dogs, cats, hamsters and fish. The staff have generally been knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. Sometimes customers that bring their dogs in and don't control them well enough can be annoying, but that is relatively rare.

I absolutely love petsmart and all of its locations! They are always super clean and the staff is super caring and interested in my fur baby, always lots of pets which he loves. I can always find what I’m looking for and they often have sales going on for items which is awesome too :)

Every single time I come to this location it's a ghost town for employees. There is never anyone in fish and reptile and I have to wait sometimes long periods of time before I'm helped. I wish somewhere else sold crickets so I didn't have to support persmart bad customer service

Whoever is taking care of small pets needs to go clean those fish tanks, and change the bedding for the rodents. Also, there was even a brown Finch (unsure of species) in one of the birdcages with a broken wing that was for sale at full price that clearly needs vet care.

There is no staff on the floor. Prices in the shelves are different when punched in the cashier and didn’t even bother to resolve it. Fishes when purchased I guessed they needed oxygen for transport but here in this location nothing. Just plastic bag and fish tank water.

I go to this location almost once a week. I buy wet food and litter. I also have a leopard gecko that I buy crickets for. About 1 out of 4 visits they are out of crickets which is frustrating. The store is always clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.

DO NOT buy fish at this location. They put fish in the wrong tank, and refuse to refund if you buy the wrong one. Especially the manager, terrible service attitude, doesn't have the courage to admit the mistake.

The grooming staff do a great job on the dogs. Sometimes they are out of stock for treats when I go there. Friendly service. I don't like that bonus points are not automatically available but have to be loaded.

We had our corgi groomed at this location today, and they did a GREAT job. The ladies that groomed our dog were so kind and helpful. Overall just a really wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend!

Went there today for some aquatic plants and potentially some fauna. The girl there was extremely helpful and provided invaluable insight. Would highly recommend for some cheap plants and great advice.

Lately shelves with treats are pretty empty, dog food still have pretty good choices. In regards to the staff members, cashiers are friendly and helpful. Great customer service at this location.

Good service, lots of decorations for the fish tanks, they are running low on cichlid fishes, less variety as well, they need more of those type. Overall good place to shop for your pet.
