What a mess. This is probably the most expensive movie theater I've ever been to - they charge $17 for matinees, $21.50 for regular 2D, $27.50 for 4D, parking is $8 (with validation), and concessions are outrageous - but they don't actually provide any value for the price. It's simply that they're in DTLA and at LA Live, the latter of which exists simply to overcharge Angelenos for bad food and mediocre entertainment. Maybe if the service was better? But concessions are a disaster. I've been to three movies here in the last month, and they have never had the candy or food that I or my friends have asked for. Nothing is stocked. They don't even have things advertised on the monitors above the counters. When they do have something, it takes a bizarrely long time to get it. I have yet to figure out how lines can move so slow when there are seven people behind the counter. Maybe if they theater experience was better? But with one exception seats haven't been upgraded since the theater was built, and for the prices they're charging, all of the theaters should be as comfortable as their overpriced and terribly named new ICE theater. And then there's the Regal app that can't handle the Summer Friday surges and crashes or stalls constantly. (The website is worse.) Folks wonder why everyone is staying home and watching everything on their TVs, even spectacles meant for the big screen. It's not a mystery; it's experiences like Regal LA Live.
I visited this cinema with over an hour to spare before my film started. I got in line at the concession s when I first got there and it was so poorly managed that I missed the first 15 minutes of my movie (over an hour and 20 minutes in line) I could not believe my eyes as I watched the person running the line continue going to the back and leaving the guest at the counter constantly, and stood watching as the same guest was being helped for over 15 minutes for EVERY guest that came up to the counter. This was not exclusive to one worker, it was EVERY worker operating all 6 counters. This was not helped by the fact that they forced people who were buying tickets at the theatre to buy tickets at the concessions counter (seriously who thought of this), and to add insult to injury, they were out of most of the snacks by the time I got to the front of the line. After my movie (around 11pm by this point) I thought the line had died down and I'd try a second go at getting the drink I initially wanted. There was only one person in line so I figured it would go quickly, but I was quickly proven wrong when I stood for 20 minutes watching the (new set of workers) take 15 minutes per each person even after the initial rush was over. The management and team at this theatre need a lot of work, and it's frankly unacceptable for any team to be managed like this. Would not suggest this theatre if you plan on getting any snacks before your movie.
This was my second time going to the theater. The first time I checked out the 4DX theater. This time I wanted to check out the ICE theater. This was my first time experiencing this technology, so I was really curious to see what the overall effect of the panoramic panels would be like during the movie experience. First, the picture quality and sound quality in the ICE theater is top-notch! The seats are nice and plush with a little wiggle room. The panels essentially match the color theme that’s presented on the screen. It extends the image with blurred colors. After watching the movie for a while, the effect wears off. It’s like watch a 3D movie. After sometime, you loose the impact. It’s an interesting technology, but the novelty of it wore off pretty quickly. I doubt if I will go out of my way to see another movie in this format. I would much rather see a 4DX movie instead. Overall, the theater is really nice. Unfortunately, because it’s downtown you will likely have to pay for parking. So, with the tickets being a little bit more expensive in this location for the movie and with parking, your bill can add up pretty quickly. This is why I wouldn’t give if 5 stars. Also, on my previous visit the 4DX theater didn’t appear to be fully functional. Some of the special effects I’ve experienced in newer theaters was missing.
We really enjoyed their 4D theater the first time we visited but ever since we continue visiting this theater! Distance is convenient and parking is good, we hardly ever find a crowded parking lot or theater there. Their Tuesday special is good too! Check it out! We enjoy receiving their screenings as well for being part of their rewards program. We really liked the Avengers end game movie we recently watched! The theater also had a nice suit display of the avengers And that was really neat to take pictures with. Customer service is always nice here, just wish they had a better systems for purchasing concessions bc there's a bit of confusion About the lines to buy your items sometimes. There was a man that was very rude to the lady Infront of him just because of that misorganization and there is no need to be rude to others specially to disrespect people that are older than us. I just felt situationsike those could've been avoided if lines were clearly established. I don't know if I make sense but I just felt bad that poor old lady got mistreated when clearly it was not her fault where the lines began or ended.
4DX is why I come here its a 30 min drive but worth it for the experience. If you watched a movie in 3D and are amazed wait until you come watch it here in 4D. Yup you get that extra dimension here and it's insane, first off your seat will move you around as if you're in the movie make sure its an action packed movie like Hobbs and Shaw. Expect lighting effects in the theater, wind blasting at you and water, plenty of water that will make you think am I watching this or am I in this movie. If you like fighting scenes expect to feel them so you better be ready for that punch. They have some movie exhibits here so make sure your camera is ready, plus you'll never know who might be walking around here. My Next movie that I would watch in 4DX is Terminator definitely worth the wait.
First time at the theater to see the new Rob Zombie Flick and in the middle of the movie a Dish Network "are you still watching" prompt came on followed by the attached image. After waiting the crowd had to alert the staff. There was no one letting us know what comes next including the refund policy. When the movie finally came back on it was the wrong part of the film. For a limited release you think the theater would have a bit more attention to detail. Beside the movie being interrupted, a single small water bottle is $6, popcorn is stale and food is very poor quality in general. This place takes customers and their money for granted and going forward would be my last pick for a movie theater if and when other options are available.
Went on a whim to catch a movie. It was our first time here. We got our tickets easily at the kiosk and waiting for snack was effortless. The attendants were fast getting our items. The walk to the theater was a long one as ours was the last one. The seating was meh. The seats in our theater are old, squeaky and rocked. There was only 6 people in the theater and 2 were very loud and talking during the movie until my husband had to yell at them to stop. Other than that it was a good. I recommend they upgrade all seating and maybe have attendants check for loud obnoxious people during the movie. With going to the movies for 3 people cost 100 or more you expect to have good movie going etiquette.
Spacious and clean theater with friendly staff and well spaced seating, so you won't be looking at the back of someone's head in front of you while watching a movie. Seats weren't the most comfortable, and the popcorn was mediocre. The drink price is steep, nearly $10 for a fountain soda, though it does come with refills (although it's a big cup so realistically you're not getting more than one refill. The popcorn was priced fairly and also came with a refill but it wasn't particularly good popcorn. The movie theater itself was clean and well kept, didn't have any sticky floors or dirty bathrooms. Pretty average moviegoing experience overall.
Went on the opening day of Super Mario Bros, excited to purchase movie theatre snacks as usual, and was greeted with a crowd potentially as large as 50-100 people in lobby waiting in lines and not moving for 15 minutes before the movie. To check, I looked mid-movie and saw that the lobby was still packed, so there was no way for me to purchase any snacks. I honestly have never seen anything like it and was thoroughly disappointed. If you have a large capacity, make sure you hire enough workers to accommodate that capacity, or don’t sell.that many tickets simply put.
Movie theaters are all pretty much the same. A bit uncomfortable, so I go rarely. The matinee is the only time it's close to almost worth it... But then i don't enjoy most movies, most of them are unwatchable trash. The best movies from the past 10 years would be LAUGHED AT 20 years ago. I know this is for the theater itself but it's relevant. If the best things they have are bad, and the only way they can make any money is to grossly overcharge for everything, the business is broken. A small soda and a small popcorn shouldn't cost $25. Even adjusting for inflation.
If I could give this theater zero stars I would. They have the laaaaaziest staff in America! All these youngsters need to be fired for stealing company time by constantly being on their phone watching TikToks. There’s no one to help you with purchasing tickets. They promptly direct you to the food court! to purchase tickets on a stupid slow touch screen that doesn’t even work just so they can go back to watching and making TikTok’s complaining about their job. This corporation clearly doesn’t GAF about this location or their business!! NEVER COME HERE.
I found Los Angeles movie theaters are unique in the United States. In Seattle yes we have some gorgeous theaters, like those in Lincoln square or southcenter. But here, there is more of a reverence for film. The influences are everywhere, and patently obvious. This theater is no exception. Even in one of the smaller theaters the sound was great the picture great and the seating... Well do I have to keep saying it? A great experience, definitely something to do within Los Angeles especially downtown if you have a few hours.
Literally the worst concession experience. They have 5 people working concessions, yet no one on staff is qualified to serve 21+ beverages. They don’t have the advertised “Cheetos popcorn” it was 4:30pm & I was told they were sold out, how?! Cheese pizza? No cheese pizza. Nerds candy? No nerds candy. It took 15 mins to ever have our order taken cause everyone working here looks lost & confused. Then the lady that’s qualified to sell liquor returns w/the worst customer service. I hate it here.
Came to watch Jurassic World: Dominion in 4DX and was it an experience! The chairs move according to the action in the movie and you can feel mist when there’s water shown in the film. Highly recommend sitting in the F-G aisle since it gives a good shot of the screen. But because it is in LA, parking is such a hassle. Try getting there early in order to find parking, had to park 10 minutes away and almost missed the opening scenes. Enjoy yourself and hope you get to see an inflatable Dino.
Nice theater, but the seats were so tightly spaced with no clear boundaries, even with the armrests down. Both of my seat neighbors were rude and partially in my seat for most of the movie. The seats rock and the person behind me was pushing on the back of my chair the whole movie as well. I'm not sure if these issues happened due to the theaters' design or the number of people with no manners or spacial awareness. Either way, staff were wonderful. I just didn't like the seat layout.
The location of this cinema is very good for downtowners. The facilities provided to buy the tickets are great. Friendly staff. Clean halls and chairs. Have tried the 4DX experience for the new movie Tomb Raider. The mechanics and effects provided were ok as a start but then it gets annoying as it is seems to be a loop of effects. I would suggest the 4DX for a short movie such as the ones in theme parks but would not suggest it for a 1 hour or more movie Overall excellent place
I bought an Indiana Johnson movie with my friend at 10:15 p.m. It was just the two of us in the big movie theater. I watched the commercial for more than 10 minutes, but the screen was out of focus and looked blurry, so I complained to the employee 2-3 times. The movie started and this time the sound was the problem. And I complained and got a refund. The staff didn't even say sorry. I thought it was a terrible movie theater. My precious weekend time and money were wasted.
I’ve been coming to this theater for almost 5 years now and it’s my to go see new releases. I saw the last two Hunger games in 4DX which it was great and worth it. The staff are nice I’ve never had a problem. The food is great I’ve tried most of it and it’s alright but the new Cheetos popcorn are my favorite snack. I love coming on Tuesday’s for discounted tickets and 50% off popcorn. Overall it’s a great theatre and I love coming with my family to enjoy new movies.
Crew at the theater and security thought I wasn't paying for my movies. I have to say, I have the unlimited pass and I bought tickets from 3pm through the whole night. I don't know why? but, they got so aggressive. I was interrogated like 30 min. First, the manager tells me not to leave and later, the the security staff ask me to leave. It was so confusing. I really like movies so I hope the crew and personal from Regal LA Live get better training...
Perfect venue for celebrating young storytellers in film. The African American, Oscar Micheaux Film Festival was exciting, inspirational and celebrated talented filmmakers from all around the world. The subject matters were insightful, comedic and heart felt. The nusic videos showcase as well as documentaries were intense and thought provoking. LA LIVE provided the perfect backdrop for excellence. Well staffed, polite, informative, gracious!
Felt like a real country bumpkin when we visited! We were walking by and decided to stop in and see Barbie. I've never been in such a huge movie theater! After two escalators and a bit of a walk we found our theater and really enjoyed the movie. Snacks were good but expensive (as was expected). Most confusing part was buying tickets with our concessions but maybe that's just our lack of experience.
I mean it’s a normal theater… but as it’s the main movie theater in downtown Los Angeles… the city that makes most of the worlds movies… it's just a let down. Even the big theater they have for the newest movies is basic. It has a balcony level and that’s it. Nothing special like old time movie palaces and nothing cool to look at like the arc lights. It’s just a normal theater.
Watched Oppenheimer and the staff were really helpful. Had an incident of "double seating" and the security were able to handle the situation in a calm collective manner when one of the viewer were threatning us for taking the "seat". In which turns out that angry viewer were in the wrong seating area and was rudely disrespectful toward me and my partner.
My first time here. It doesn't have recliner seats. Parking charges but offers validation in specific parking lots. I was able to speak with a person at parking when I had trouble. At the time we went, concession stand upstairs was open and that was great, just as packed as downstairs didn't save time. App doesn't provide mobile ordering for concession.
We splurged on getting food at the theater and I have no regrets! I recommend the burger with the bacon jam - my boyfriend really liked his pizza. After the movie, we splurged on playing games in the lobby. So much fun because it brought me back to high school. Staff really friendly! Cant wait to go back for another special occasion.
Don’t ever come to this theater, not even 19 and up older people can watch rated R MOVIES MAKES NO SENSE HOW YOU WILL NOT ALLOW 19 YEAR OLD WITH ID BRINGING MY SISTER THAT DIDNT HAD HER ID, never had an issues with this theater but now there new policy is ridiculous, especially the old dude that had useless life he has in regal .
I paid $24 each for 4 tickets to Dungens & Dragons (4/3/23 1:10 show) Seats G 5-8. The 4dX experience didn’t work! No chair movement or anything. It appeared the whole section rows D-G seats 5-8 were defective. I ended up moving to other seat, which were not as good from a viewing standpoint. Very disappointing.I want a refund.
It was my first time being and everything was clean and perfect. Friendly staff. They have starbucks, beer, meals to eat and slurpees. Clean restrooms. Comfortable seats and excellent lighting if you have to walk while the movie is playing. And you have a Danny's Lunch truck accross the street too. L. A. Live rocks!
Everything about this place is perfect except for 1 thing when you buy your popcorn they put the butter on for you and of course when you get half way done your popcorn has gone dry. Outside of that the theater is fantastic great theaters and the 4d experience is intense quality sound system, highly recommended.
Very well decorative! (Huge chandelier in the lobby, movie posters, great view of downtown LA) was soo expensive tho. Bought 2 tickets to see the nun 2 for 40.00 but they offer a points system, so it's worth it lol. Overall, great experience while watching the movie. Will come back for more movie fun. …
Great experience from buying the tickets at the window, the ticket agent gave information on films we didn't know about. The theater is clean and the seats roomy. My mother was so comfortable that she fell asleep in the middle of an action pack movie! Definately a great place for family, friends and dates.
First of all awesome staff greeting as soonest you walk in theater. Ok, let me get this out the way 4DX is highly recommend! For you, if your chunky or Gordo/a (chunky like me) if you don't like your "LONJAS" (TUMMY) UUHH! prepare yourself cause there going to be all over the place. In that 4dx... Enjoy
- popcorn was super mid - staff behind concessions were swamped (customer service was stocked) so it took 5ever to get snacks - theater was so cold! Truly I considered leaving - volume was like two notches too high it hurt my ears - parking expensive - nothing stands out as particularly good or great
Horrible service, took forever to get concessions. My back was hurting by the end of the movie. I dropped my credit card in the theater and Regal makes it really hard for you to get a hold of anybody local. Just horrible experience all over. Probably would just stay away from Regal theaters entirely.
Very nice theater well recommended with family or group of friends ,, on the snacks there not that pricey , also they sell beer, parking is $8 west parking which is on the side of the theater only bad thing is if there's a game parking will be full house u will need to park outside on Olympic blvd ,
My husband and I came here few times because it it the closest movie theater. I don't have complaints about the theater itself but the crowd is awful!! They spoil the story, hooray and talk throughout the movie EVERYTIME we watch the movies. Choose different location that has well mannered crowd.
Very nice theater, reserved seating, the option to get beer and wine, and the newest experience 4DX. The 4DX isn't cheap, almost $28 per person, but a very cool experience with moving seats, water, wind, smoke, etc synced to the movie. Something to try at least once with a good action movie.
Came for the 4D experience and it was a blast! The only downside to this theater is the parking! You have to criss cross your way thru 2 different parking lots to get to the actual theater one. Good thing is regal gives validation for your ticket, which comes out to 8 dollars instead of 23.
PARK ON THE WEST LOT and costs only $8 WITH VALIDATION. located ACROSS THE STREET on the BACK SIDE OF THE THEATER . The parking lot is very close to the theater only a short walk. The theater is new and fabulous and very beautiful The seats are very comfortable and their 3D is awesome
Terrible experience. Got my validation for the cinema but the parking staff informed me that it was only valid for the West Garage and not the East. I had to pay $40 instead of $8 with a validation. Clearly this venue does not care about its patrons and is only here to make money.
This place no longer uses the box office facing the street. They now no longer allow to purchase tickets in the back counter. We HAVE to purchase at the concessions counter where we wait 20-30 min on a Saturday with all cashier's open. Make sure to order tickets ahead of time.
Drove an hour and a half to come and see the high frame rate IMAX 3D Avatar way of water movie and it was well worth the drive. The high frame rate 3D movie experience was probably the best image quality I've ever seen in my life. And I have a lot of high-end video equipment.
There was only a bootleg Barbie box available on Barbie movie opening weekend instead of an official movie promo box. There was also no merch to giveaway. Seats weren’t as comfy as any AMC theatres. Out of all the theatres in LA that can bring experiences, this one isn’t it.
Movie was great! We booked online, day of, auditorium 5 had a few seats left. For an action packed movie, highly recommend the immersive 4DX theater. Great sounds, and full room like screens. Seats are not aa big as the regular regal seats that recline, but comfortable.
Regal is really good. I like the design inside the theater, it's visually really pretty and all the employees are really nice. I've personally never had a problem with this place, other than the insane food prices. Avoid the concession stand as much as possible.
My experience was wonderful. The staff competent and easygoing, the popcorn just fine and the soda fountain nice and varied. The bathrooms were clean and generally well stocked. We got there before the credits and watched a little Nomie to keep from being bored.
Theater is huge. Never seen a three story movie theater before. The screen I saw was small, though -- surprisingly small. I didn't care for cold interior design. It was more like the lobby of an office building -- not the flashy place in L.A. you would expect
I love the place is nice and clean also neat. Definitely a good place to watch movies. If your nearby there. The only issue I have is that the standard seats doesn't have a seat recliner like other movies theater have. But, still a good place to watch movies.
Nice theater. Clean, up to date, friendly. They have the newest tech as well to enhance your experience. Also easy to get to walking or public transit. The only negative is it's expensive, but if you're going to the movies, this is a great place to go.
We went to see the latest Sonic The Hedgehog 2 film and in 4DX as well! The 4DX experience is jarringly fun and feels like your on a universal ride with the seat movement and fog and water effects, cool experience! Movie was also good here!
The 4XD seats are awesome, I am not a fan of the whole water splash but you can turn it off. Everyone should try it at least once! The movie experience is great! I brought my niece and nephew to experience Jurassic World!! …
Compared to AMC, it is not a very good theatre. The seating is very old fashion and you cannot adjust it to your preference. The movie ticket is so expensive as well. I watched an after noon show, Game Night, and it was $17 per person.
Indulging at Regal LA Live is an unforgettable 5-star experience! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with elegance and warmth. The plush seating envelops you in comfort, while the state-of-the-art technology enhances every
Irene was our cashier at the concession stand. I wanted to give her a good review because she was really helpful even though it was super busy and I saw her dealing with some difficult customers before us. Thank you for being kind !
Their website blocks you if you want to check what movies are on their "menu" when you r connected to internet via security VPNs. Guys, there is a good reason we use VPNs... > to protect our devices and our privacy. It's our right.
14 Screens All Sizes, which Size Screen Your Movie is on depends on the Movie. Seating and Sound is Great. The LA Live Activities is Special, Especially the Christmas Season. I recommend You Visit The Regal Theater at LA Live.
Watched Cocaine Bear today and the theatre was not full at all. It was of course during the day. Enjoyed the atmosphere. It was very clean and more than enough attendants at the door. Thank you for a great experience.
Great place, been going here for the past few months. Clean, sound is great and always a good place to sit. Local downtown movies theater. I don't like the metal detectors at the front door but I guess this is America
We randomly decided to watch a movie after walking past this place. There were almost no one in the place and we got to watch the movie all by ourself. That was a experience on its own! Nice theatre and good popcorn!
Amazinggggg aquaman in 4D ! However the staff at the popcorn bar was super slow and we almost missed the start of the movie because the line was super Long and also the machines to print the tickets weren’t working
You can pay for a membership that gets you a free ticket to all 2D movies, but half the time their system charges you full price anyway and they ignore feedback that the memberships don't work. I felt scammed.
This is an excellent spot for watching movies. I saw Oppenheimer here. The only downside is that there were only two open counters to purchase snacks, and it took me over 15 minutes just waiting in the queue.
It's impossible to call this theatre for anything. I had a questions about accessibility for this theatre. I called the (845) number listed, and I listened to all the 15+ locations to be transferred to the
My favorite part was 4DX. Recently, though, some of the seats didn't work all the effects, such as water, air blasts, and leg ticklers. There may be something wrong with them. Other than that, I had fun.
Had a blast watching the Nun 2, My friend amd I got the ICE immersion tickets and had a good time. Adjustable seats, wireless chargers for phone both android and iPhone and pleanty of room for seating.
Screens are huge and there is loads of seating. Loads of screens over multiple floors. Service can be slow so risky wanting to get something right before the movie starts. Location is a of a mad one
Highly recommend getting their movie pass and going on Tuesdays, when concessions are cheapest. The auditoriums are pretty clean with staff making rounds and the popcorns are always pretty good!
Anywhere I pay for parking getting a 4 star. Especially if the validation is 2 dollars off after going to the movies. Many place with the movie validation parking is free at the structure
Beautiful and clean theater! My first 4DX movie experience with Avatar2 in this theater. It’s cool and made everything so real that I can even feel be killed and bombed. Very impressive!
Event was amazing, can't go wrong with a star trek movie....especially on the big screen. Cool question and answer time. Got to hear the inside scoop on the making of the directors cut.
Exploitative parking price. Got a validation for the cinema and it was $40 in the East Garage vs $8 in the West Garage. Clear money grab. Do the corporations not have enough money?
I’ve never had cold popcorn in my life this was the first Nothing advertised was available. It was just weird. Saw Barbie ICE theater nothing special. This place was subpar …
Great movie theater, good seat size. Omg they have mozzarella sticks as always prices for food is outrageously pricey, but they make up for it with quality and sizes. …
Did not like me. Why ? I show up there to see The Super Mario Bros Movie. I Noticed that there is a parking lot with a big sign MovieTheater parking lot .
The blue lights illuminating the steps are way too bright and bleed onto the screen. Felt like i was watching a movie on a burned out plasma TV
The seats don't recline, but at LA LIVE, it's more about what you wear to the movies and not how comfortable you are! :) Foodies were yummy. !
Very nice seats and not a long wait to get in. And they have a great selection of movies. But 5$ for a bottle of water?!! Insaaane. …
It was all good. Only problem former is mostly animated and superhero movies have been playing there which I am not interested in seeing.
The movies here are great and the seats are very comfortable. There is a large parking lot next door, so parking is very convenient.
Talk about great popcorn . They got it. Great place for sure to see a movie... overall great service and experience. …
Good theatre, nice rooms nice seats nice screens. Lines can get hectic but to be honest you can order online for your tickets
A great cinema overall, but parking is $8 even with movie validation. I would not recommend coming to this Regal theater.
This theater is a great place to have a genuine movie experience. Beautiful place with great pictures and sound quality.
Had the honor of watching Pepe Serna the actors documentary life is art and when the Downtown Los Angeles Film Festival
Lots of different types of theater. 4DX is awesome. Not a fan of the ICE screen. Go early, parking can be hard to find.
Always great to go during the week and catch a matinee. Download the regal app and get points for all your purchases.
This was my 2nd visit. Love the moving seat. Awesome. The Popcorn and Hotdog could have been better on this visit
Best days are Tuesdays. Plus $6 parking in the structure behind as the ones on Olympic DON'T validate so
A fun theater experience. In DTLA, great movie options. Careful with parking. Not all accept validation.
Just attended my company Compass retreat event there. People are nice and help. Near DTLA all fun spots
Had a great time seeing end game. They even has costumes from the movie in the main lobby!! Huge plus
Always a great experience coming here , in a nice area and the movie options are pretty good.
Love this place. The management was VERY accommodating, and will continue to visit
The LA Live Regal is a great place to watch movies. Restaurants are all around.
Luv this movie theater! It's big but most important it's clean. …
Went to happy hour at Sol Agave, had a great time.
First time there, loved it. Would recommend.
Nice place. Been here several times.
