Today we went to see super Mario brothers because I did not want to drive any further to a different theater the last time I went there was nice and clean today. The poor manager was working harder than the employees were. It was a disaster. There was trash all over the place popcorn all over the place it was filthy. The bathrooms were full of water, because someone broke the water pipe, and the poor manager didn’t know what to do because he didn’t have enough employees for the company, and he did not provide enough employees for him not sure which one but it was horrific and to make things worse. My wife had to stand in line for almost 40 minutes. To get popcorn for my son and drinks so she missed 40 minutes of the movie because there wasn’t enough help thank you regency honestly, that was one of the worst experience that I’ve ever had. And as a customer, I apologize to you guys because we are slobs and pigs. Not including myself, because What people do to your bathrooms and to your floors would not do to their house or to their bathroom and to allow their kids to make a huge mess in the bathroom or anywhere it’s just ridiculous this is a huge thing and it comes with the responsibility of being a parent where you teach your kids manners and obviously by the looks of the theater today and the bathroom was horrible. I hope that you guys can get that poor Manager some help because he was running around. Like a chicken with no head. He was trying to do 1 million things at once. And he had no help so kudos to that manager and good luck to you guys regency
They wrongfully towed our car while we were watching a movie inside. On September 14, 2022, my wife and my daughter went to watch Brahmastra movie at the Van Nuys theaters. The last showing that ended at 10:37pm. They parked in front of the movie theater. In the theater it was just them and another family. When they came out, both of their cars were towed. It seems they were redoing the parking lot at 10pm. There was ZERO signage anywhere. To make things worse, before their cars were towed, the security asked the one person (manager, Noe) working at the theater about the cars and he said the movie doesn't end until 10:20. Any reasonable person would have gone into the theater where there were only two families and warned them that their cars would be towed. Again, there was ZERO signage anywhere. No warning from the employee and nothing done to alleviate the issue. We now have to go get our cars from impound and pay $195. How is that in any way ok? We are all fuming. I had to go to pick these 2 young females who were stranded on the street in not so desirable area of the town at almost middle of the night. I had to take off from my work on 09/15 to be able to take my wife to the Keystone towing. My wife could not go to work either because of not having her car, her only transport. In no way was any of this is acceptable and in no way should we be out $195 plus our time travelling to and from everywhere. Me & wife had to take off from work on 09/15 & lost our work earnings.
Overall the theatre is what you can expect. I enjoy that it tends to be lower foot traffic. Last night (4/11 around 8:45/ 9:00PM) was my first negative experience here, went with two friends to watch new Mario movie, must've watched 80% of the movie before fire alarm was pulled. Fire department showed up and cleared building. Spoke to management to see if refund or ticket for a future movie would be issued. Manager said no refunds will be issued but to return to theatre and they would continue playing the film, film was black screen with working audio. Gave up after about 10 minutes of audio with nothing on the screen. Returned to front to wait for manager to return to be issued tickets since film was not working. Waited almost 30 minutes, manager never came down to issue vouchers to us 3. Asked the guys at concession, they asked manager to come down. He never showed, left without; refund, voucher, or even completing the film I paid to watch. Will be disputing the charge. My only negative experience here of the 5 times I've been here. Overall the theatre is ok, but management seemed overwhelmed, understaffed and in no hurry to try to fix the issue. Hoping someone reads this review and offers a refund or voucher. Doubt I will go back.
Save yourself the headache and avoid this theatre. There’s absolutely zero renovation or upgrades. I tried to avoid writing a negative review and I made every attempt to have staff and managers involved as I shared my experience and they showed zero interest. I brought the family to watch Avatar because it was sold out everywhere so here I am with 10 tickets and a headache from almost seeing double on the screen. Talk about a pirate movie or not being up to par and people settle for that because they don’t know any better. I told employees to wear their glasses and watch the movie with us so that they can see what I saw. Of course no one confirmed and went about their business. Well here I am writing an email to regency complaints and stated I had a great experience at AMC and by the comparison I was able to confirm that it’s their theatre that has played a pirate movie do to the bad quality. Here I am with a credit of 10 admissions that I didn’t agree to . Don’t settle make people accountable. Management needs to get better. Seats are torn place is dirty food not ready on time and there in need of staff.
Prices are good, I like the staggered seating, and the screens and sound are good. The seats are not as comfortable as some places, but I don't care, for the price I pay! And I have had my bag searched on occasion, but it doesn't bother me. Clientele is hit or miss, but that's most theaters in L.A. There can be some idiots who think it's okay to talk as though they're in their living rooms, or text as though the light from their particular phone isn't annoying, but there are also times in this place where everyone is great...they're respectful of the fact that everyone wants to enjoy the movie. There are video games in the lobby, too, in case you want to kill some time before or after the movie. Overall, this is one of my fave places to go to the movies.
worst of the worst !!!!!!!!!!!! this Ragency theathre has the worst business practices. one of they being charging $14 for a single popcorn than when you want a refile they tell you to go to the regular line which will take 45 min wait. and when you call the supervisor they will tell you that we are short of popcorn . Like that has anything to do with sending all ready paid customer back of the line. over all customer service was 0 the plaice stink's lets not even talk about how bad the restrooms were. the quality of the movies were not as good as the other Theaters. its just over all a theater that dose not qualify to go back ever !!!
My favorite local theatre, while it may be a bit faded on the outside don't let that stop you from going in. For inside you will find a truly comfortable movie going experience! They have very crisp sounding sound systems (and this does matter, i have been to movie theatres with terrible systems and this ruins the whole experience) excellently sized screens and a great ratio of spacing between the screen and the seats. Overall, always a great time the staff is friendly and really there are no downsides. Pro tip! Try to go during matinee hours, movie tickets cost 8 bucks and it's often quieter during these times. Highly recommended!
The pandemic was tough on a lot of us. I am glad to know that some companies can bring back old school ways in our modern days. This drive in was something I have always wanted to experience. Of course not how it happened due to the pandemic. I believe this is a great way to spend quality time, in the comfort of your vehicle, with friends, family or a cute first date. Restrooms can be used as long as you wear a mask. The concession stand are open to purchase food, snacks and beverages. I hope when things go back to normal this can be an option every other weekend. Stay safe, wash your hands and please wear a mask.
Worst horrible place, I took my family as always , in this day Sunday 6th, my wife was super cold because the weather has changed, so she desited to get a hot coffee ☕️, my wife is pregnant and the host desited to tell her trash her coffee before we all go in . It was 7 of us I spent over $70 , I always come here because other theaters gersold out , now I understand the food policy, but they don't sell any coffee, so why he asked us to trash our coffee, i told him that i wanted my $$ back if that was the case and he said he didnt care ..wow thats a great management why he
Very empty theatre, and more than happy to come back. The chairs are comfortable, the popcorn is warm and the coke is refreshing. I was initially headed to an AMC, but after doing a quick google search I found that this theatre had more time slots open and I decided to rather support my local theatre. This was my first time returning to a theatre after the pandemic, and it was well worth it. By the way, if you come before 4pm you get discounted prices that no other theatre around the area offers.
The regency cinemas is better than ever, they have renovated their rooms with reclining seats, everything is new, the flooring, you can still feel the paint, and the seats have a table for your snacks, I love it even better that it is cheaper than Cinemarck and has an incredible sound... This cinema has everything, including its food, clean bathrooms and super friendly staff who are attentive to your needs, buy the tickets online, just arrive at the entrance and you're ready for movie time!
Review for December 16th 2021. The regency 16 movie theaters located in Van Nuys california. This place is called the plant, it used to be the old GM plant back in the 50's 60s and 70's. He has not been converted into a thriving shopping area. I'm not guilty, to say that I remember coming here when I was younger. As a matter of fact, I used to work at the in and out right at the corner of the entrance to this shopping center at the plant. But I did enjoy the movie The matrix resurrections.
This has been my "home" theatre for over 9 years. In and Out is close the theaters are large and the crowds casual. Even with huge summer releases you can find seats. The tickets cost far less than newer theatres (somewhere between 10 and 15 dollars) and you can grab tickets from a machine or a human. There are even a couple of video games. Bonus in 2023 they upgraded the first few rows of seats into recliners. Now you get all if the above and better seating!
Wow, have they cleaned up this place! I will defenetly come back to see movies again. New recliner seating with a small tray to put your drink and food. Clean seats and no more dirty, sticky floors. People, let's keep this place nice and clean. Let's show our level of education and respect we were taught at home and show that Hispanics are capable of keeping nice, clean public spaces. No more driving to Porter Ranch or Burbank, Regency, you got my business.
The one in Granads Hills is closer, but we come here. New seats are great, and concessions are always fast. It is up there with the other big-name theatres, and I would rather go here to support this business as they are very considerate of the local community in terms of pricing. We always make it a point to purchase concessions even if we just get soda and popcorn. Support businesses that see the communities' needs.
Good deal. I paid only $30 for me and my 4 kids! We brought blankets and pillows to lay in the back of my Grand Caravan, and also brought dinner and candy....I saved at least $100 with our tickets normally being about $10 each at $50 for all of us, plus snacks at the concession being nearly $5 each ... we went to Dollar Tree, where I spent $5 on all of us. Can't beat a $35 night on 5 people.
⭐Real Person Experience⭐ This is my go-to theater⭐ I love how secure and secluded it is because not many people go here. I remember one time where I went to watch a movie; I had the whole theater to myself and I was so happy especially during covid times. I recommend this to all friends and family. They have an awesome special if come in before 2pm.
A very nice movie theater. Ticket window is outside as you approach the window. Tons of parking so there is not a long walk. Clean and air conditioned cool, not freezing. Popcorn was great. The unlimited soda machines with dozens of options is always fun. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Seats were standard, the screen was fine as was the sound. A nice time had.
Ridiculous went to go see a movie with my daughter was told one movie was sold out and told we had to sit separately in the other movie because the seats were sold once we entered inside the movie theater was almost empty so we ended up sitting next to each other anyway but too much hassle and dishonest about sold out seats and movie's. Go somewhere else folks
I could go watch movies anywhere but I always prefer going here. They’re clean, the food and beverages are always good, the customer service is wonderful and the bathrooms are often times clean. Even on days i take my kids to watch movies the day they come out it’s packed like crazy but the lines move fairly quick. Definitely my go-to movie theater.
When we went to get snacks they were out of water bottles. they gave us the smallest water cups to get water.. I would of rather just paid for a larger cup. Then all there machines were out of butter so I couldn’t butter my popcorn. To top it off the seats were really uncomfortable. I do not recommend this theater and will not be coming back!
Disgusting seating, I was bit by bedbugs or an insect while watching the movie. The floors of the movie theater room is horrible. I guess they don’t clean up after every movie is over. Won’t ever go again. I rather pay the extra $ to sit comfortable. Don’t get the pretzels (they are dry and freezer burnt) Popcorn is nasty. Cheap all around.
Nice enough. Good price. The seats need updating, but are comfortable, if you're going with a date or just like to sprawl the arms don't lift up. Cleanliness was questionable (set my hand down on the rest beside me and it was wet with something). Would give 2.5 cause I feel a 2 is harsh, but not a 3 with the wet stick arm rest.
When you somehow missed the first run of movies, come on this way. They get new movies quickly and the place is clean and the people working are cool. It's not the super loungers of the current megaplexes but it's just an old school spot. One added plus, you have less expectations of films as you're paying less!
It's a classic theater and frankly that's my preference. Just soda and candy, not waiters and full meals. The difference in seat height leaves a fair bit to be desired. If someone is in front of you, you're bound to get some screen cut off. About 50/50 for people wearing a mask in the actual theater.
Awesome theater in a convenient location! So many wonderful memories of coming here! Lots of familes and other nice people, met a really nice family standing behind us in line for a Harry Potter film. Mostly polite employees. Safe, well maintained location. Lots of parking. I miss this place!
The theater and restroom were clean, the staff polite and there were no technical issues with our showing of Frozen 2. We did not purchase any concession items so cannot comment regarding service or quality. I have been to this theater before and have always enjoyed my experience here.
Great theater, they don't have the new style reclining seats but the ones they have are still very nice. Lots of parking and easy access to the ticket kiosks and concessions. Always a good movie going experience at this theater! Ford v Ferrari was great too!
My favorite theater experience. Sure, are there fancier places? I still feel like a kid when I come here, ultimate nostalgia. Super comfortable seating and tasty snacks. Plus, the theaters aren’t huge so there is a lot of people to potentially make noise.
Been coming here for years for matinae. Great place to watch a movie. I watched ant man the other day with friends and I was given outstanding customer service by the Manager Noe and Leslie. Thank you for being courteous and understanding. Appreciate it.
The matinee price was good. The screen was nice and large. My theater didn't have assigned seating, but there weren't a lot of people there on a Sunday morning, so it wasn't an issue. The seats were comfortable as well. I will definitely go again.
Good movie theater. Cheaper prices than most other theaters. The audio in the theaters is usually really loud, I’d recommend bringing earplugs, especially for those who have sensitive/hyper-sensitive hearing. It’s right next to a police station.
Plenty of parking available, inside they have nice reclining seats with a small swinging table to put your snacks on. Place needs to be kept more clean though, our seats and the floor around us still had trash and popcorn from previous showing.
I like that it was empty-ish for a popular movie but it seats, floor, bathrooms need to be cleaned better. I understand that it can get dirty between movies but they can clean between changing movies. Food selection was ok but how do you
It's cheaper than AMC and it shows. The seats are very uncomfortable, even my 14 year old mentioned that the seats were uncomfortable. The snack bar seemed a little dated and a tad dirty. Picture and sound quality were good. For a family
It was pretty awesome. It took me back to the days when the Van Nuys drive-in was around. I am glad my kids got to enjoy. I only wish I had a better speaker system with some bass to get close to that surround sound but it was still great.
There’s no policy on their website for the drive-in during inclimate weather. I called multiple numbers hours ago (and left a voicemail) as well as left an email — no one picked up after multiple calls (one is an auto-hangup) and no one
Good experience overall, but would say that with one of the bathrooms being closed when I went, I noticed that we had to go in a bathroom with twice the traffic and incredibly dirty. Stalls not flushed and smell of urine in the air. The
I LOVE THIS THEATER. ITS CLEAN. THERE WASNT ALOT OF PEOPLE THE LAST 3 TIMES I WAS THERE. FRIENDLY STAFF. ALTHOUGH IF YOU COME OUT THE SHOW LATE BE CAREFUL SOMETIMES SHADY CHARACTERS ROAM AROUND THERE. JUST BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS.
Great, traditional style theatre snugged perfectly into Van Nuys. It could use some updated seats and maybe a slightly larger selection of films. Altogether, though, a very nice place to go catch all the newest blockbusters!
Does anyone know why the theater was evacuated on Saturday 9/3? Was there watching a 7pm show and around 9:30 the emergency lights went off and were told to evacuate to the nearest exit. Would like to know what happened.
The seating was great with plenty room to walk past other patrons without kicking their legs and feet nor having to have them sit up so you could get by. Seating is comfortable. The sound and picture quality were great.
Haven't sat and watched a movie yet...will soon!!! Seems like a nice little outta the way yet decent sized theater, also serve Fresh Hot Pizza!!! Several theater's and a photo booth to remember the time!!!
Love this movie theater ! It's so easy and accessible to go watch a movie there ! Yes ,it's not AMC but this place feels more cozy! They are upgrading the theater so the new upgrades feel and look great
This place is not the best kept. Their was a roach in the box we asked for to put the popcorn. They had to open up a new bag. So we could have different ones. I will not be going back. I'm very disappointed.
Here to watch the UFC fight and it was cool. Way too many people though, the concession lines were long and slow, but I guess that's what you get when a world premiere is out the same weekend of a fight.
We went on a late night Thursday. In my opinion. It was great. The place was empty. There was only my party and one other, so a total of 7 of us in the entire theater. Don't really get why.
It was nice, I was surprice and shock they didn't have JALAPENOS for the nachos how can be saling nachos with out jalapeños. The soda machines broke and to top it no ice, over al it was ok..
Nice, clean theater. Well maintained through the years it has been at The Plant! Love that they have the self dispensing fountain drink machines that have a variety of different flavors.
Drive-In Theatre is open! Easy parking. They took one of their great projectors, moved it outside, and are projecting on a nice, large screen in the parking lot. Highly recommend.
Being coming here for some time now, and i gotta say the update they doing on the seats. Are pretty dam good, hope we all keep it clean its a good and fair price theathers.
I think the general experience at this location is decent but it's a little run down compared to other movie theaters. Seat need to be updated and it could be more clean.
Great movie tickets prices, Great prices for popcorn, My only complaint Is that the seat are a bit gross but other then that This is my favorite movie theater.
This our place and we are glad to have it in our area. My children enjoy the video games also after the shows. The staff is always very warm and helpful.
It was great! They were very attentive and polite. They were very busy but, they still did their best! Thank you to their entire team! …
I love this theater...food a little Xtra money, but worker's are kind, the seat are so comfy, the theater is also clean all the time I'm been there
Been going here for years. Now with big, comfortable seats! A push of a button and they recline with a foot rest! Great staff, awesome popcorn!
Clean and friendly. After 20 plus years I come back to this theater but now with my son and looks decent and nice. I guess I'll visit again.
Clean, affordable, great concession stand food. Great new recliners and tables make for a great eating experience while watching the movie.
Clean, quiet, not overly packed as usual... disappointed they did not have stock on pretzels, and pricing on snacks has gone WAY up. …
Great drive-in movie experience! Concession is still open indoors (masks required) so you can still enjoy warm popcorn in your car.
They've upgraded their seats. It's nice the staff is nice. I wish I could get points on my purchases without my regency card
I love going to the plant. They have good snacks, it's clean and very affordable. I love the new seats they have!!
I give it a 5 star because it's wonderful to be in the movie theater with my friends and family
Saturday movie and poocorn date with the grandson, not too crowded and at a reasonable price.
Been there only a couple of times, just last week was more than expected …
I wached the ariel mermaid movie there was not a lot of people and god service
Omg rex seating did a huge upgrade to this movie theater I love it ♡♡
