My recent experience can be summed up by one review which reads "company tried to press blame for damage obviously not caused by us", and another which states they "present hirer with a list of scratches etc. which in some cases are difficult to find and then produce more obscure scratches when the car is returned!" After returning the vehicle to the after hours drop off, I was sent a bill for £840. Sixt provided no evidence of the purported damage, yet attempted to recover the money from my credit card. After it was rejected because it was resisted, they threatened further fees, lawyers and debt collectors. Fortunately, it was dealt with by our third-party insurer as we didn't want the hassle of taking it to the independent regulator. However, we should not have had to waste a claim and deal with the unnecessary stress. The people at the front desk in this office are pleasant but unfortunately there is no other way to review our experience. I can only imagine the generic response this review might receive, yet I have already dealt with their complaints department extensively. I will not be using this rental company again.

Not impressed with the staff when I picked up the car. They were pressing on me taking out the 44 pounds a day insurance or I'd be hit with maybe multiple 1200 pound charges. The guy told me there's a 120 call out fee for assistance but when I asked if I have to pay this for mechanical problems they just did not answer my question. 3 times. Tone was condescending. My friend. Friend. Etc. When you enter your email at the counter they send you the damage report on the car. (They don't mention this you you). For me, this report contained 25 damage lines!!! At the bottom of the report is an electronic version of the signature you entered at the counter to confirm the general condition. Many issues here. They should not put your signature on a report you have not reviewed. It is not possible to review all these damage details and find new ones. The treat of such a large penalty is obscene. (I know all rental companies do this) The insurance to get rid of the 1200 pounds is too much. I would expect this for a car I rent for 25 pounds a day but this was 175 pounds a day.

After having one pleasant experience renting from Sixt I decided to do it again about ten days later. Firstly, I was made to feel guilty over the phone by a staff member for choosing the cheaper online insurance option as opposed to getting it in store with them so they could get commission (maybe pay your staff more Sixt???) Upon arrival, I was told my credit score was rejected and there was no way to bypass this. This was ten days after a successful rental and all done through my business account which has never been rejected credit before. Furthermore, I was told I had to wait 5 working days for my money to be refunded. I was left in the lurch needing to get across the country for work. Won’t ever be using this company again and will advise everybody I know to avoid at all costs.

We picked up our car from London for a two week stay and after a couple of days my mothers intuition was flaring-the car seat they issued us in London was making me uncomfortable. I just found it didn’t fit our baby quite right no matter how much we tightened the straps. We called and asked for a replacement and were told to go to the nearest location which happened to be Bristol. When we arrived and parked, a gentleman came right over and asked if everything with the car was okay. I said it was and it was just an issue with the car seat. He then referred us right to the manager-Mark-who immediately assisted us choosing a different car seat so we would feel more safe. We got her switched over and it was hassle free. Thank you Mark and the Bristol sixt team !!!

I hired a car for 14 weeks at £420 a week. They put me on the wrong plan (staff error apparently) which cost me additional £3000 which out the account I was using into overdraft which effected my credit score just before remortgaging which was very costly to me. No compensation to me. I also got a crack in my windscreen from a stone on the motorway which they charged me £950 for when I returned it (bare in mind a new Windcreen would of been around £200) they have nice cars and good prices and we’re always friendly but the damage they caused by there mistake my to my credit file incurring higher mortgage rates for going in my over draft and the nearly £1000 for a stone chip I would recommend going somewhere else.

This place is the best vehicle hire location I have ever used. The staff were all extremely friendly, helpful and efficient at their job. The whole process was a dream. Quick and easy pick up and drop off, all digital no forms or anything. Damage report available to check and save via QR code on collection and checked over quickly and transparently on return, no messing about like some other hire companies. The van was new, in immaculate condition, great to drive and a bargain price. A special thanks to the staff for the advice on where to find a service they don't offer themselves. I don't know if all Sixt locations are this good but they will definitely be my first choice for any future rentals.

My brother and I, are extremely pleased with our recent rental experience! The pickup and return were very quick. I was helped by Chloe, who is a perfect combination of super friendly, caring and professional person, and an absolute pleasure to deal with, same thing applies to the very kind and awesome manager Mark. Everything was done with efficiency and speed. I have read some horror stories about other car rental places, but this place exceed expectations, would definitely go back and use them again. In short, it's always an awesome experience when renting vans and cars here. I highly recommend this place to anyone :) Peace and Blessings, Shervin and Daniel (VW Transporter)

Really easy and straightforward rental from Sixt Bristol. I went for the Ford Transit 3.5t Large or similar and received a LWB Movano. Only 500 miles on the clock, so it was brand new and ran like a dream. We moved from Bristol to London and only needed one trip due to the size which was ideal. Arrived at 8am and the check in only took a few minutes, same with checkout on the other end. The only thing which I think is a shame, which is the company as a whole, is that they charge a "young drivers fee" which you don't see till the very end at checkout. Their prices are fair other than this. Would absolutely recommend Sixt Bristol and would rent here again. Thanks!

Overall it was a great experience, albeit with some twists and turns. I started out with a pre-booked model at the point at Southampton airport, only to be informed by phone the day before pick up that I needed to cancel my order due to someone not returning the vehicle on time, which was an uncontrollable factor, but they had no option to upgrade or change the model. Since we had already booked a hotel, we chose to take the train to the Bristol store to rent a car, and the local staff was very helpful and responsible in helping us upgrade our model, which was a very interesting experience.

I was nervous about renting a car but this experience couldnt have been better. From pick up to drop off. We hired a Kia Sportage which was perfect for our family of 5. We had trouble with our phone's roaming which would have left us stranded but this car has its own navigational system which made our trip so much better. Such a beautiful car. Thanks to manager Joel, Akeem who was very patient during pick up and Sammy at drop off. Excellent customer service. We will be using this company again.

Horrendous costumer service! First they said refund of deposit will be the first day I when bring the car back...nothing happened so I called and they said 5 working days nothing happened again!so I called them again and she told me it was send on 13.10 (which is already 5 working days waiting) and that I need ro wait now 7 working days and then she put the phone down on me so I called again and ask again but this time the lady said 20 working days Avoid this company absolut joke!!!

I recently rented a car from Sixt at their Bristol City Centre store, and I must commend them for their excellent service, especially Chloe. The booking process was effortless, and Chloe went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The staff was incredibly professional and helpful. The vehicle was clean and well-maintained, and the return process was smooth. Overall, a fantastic experience with Sixt, and I highly recommend them for hassle-free car rentals.

Don't use Sixt! Three weeks after I rented a van for a day they sent me a damage claim for £224, which I didn't cause. When I picked the van up, they pointed out a little scratch to the plastic wing mirror and when I dropped it off the guy pointed to the same scratch, as if it was new but said it was superficial and so there would be no charge, so I didn't challenge it. Now, three weeks later they've sent me a bill. Terrible service and very dishonest.

Employees in this branch were friendly and courteous. However, this is a terrible company. Difficult frustrating process to prove ID for rental, multiple unadvertised hidden costs, company tried to press blame for damage obviously not caused by us. When this was raised as an issue itwas dropped however we should never have been blamed in the first place. It's not hard to do car rental well, you have just utterly failed. Do better.

I would always recommend SIXT for hiring a car, they are good value for money and fair. I recently returned a vehicle and must have clipped the tyre without noticing and there was damage, once I had sent through pics and video I had made on drop off (always remember to do videos or pictures), I did not incur any additional charges. The branch in St Thomas Street the staff are super friendly and remember customers

SCAMMERS - DO NOT USE! They may be the cheapest, but the way they make their money is to charge you for damage you haven't done. The vehicle I rented was thoroughly inspected by a member of Sixt staff immediately upon return, and no damage was found. I then received a letter 5 days later claiming I had damaged the van and saying they'll charge me £1300 for a small dent that I didn't do. Avoid like the plague.

I found people working at Sixt new Thomas St, friendly, helpful and answered all my questions. would recommend. Was annoyed by small charges being taken after returning the vehicle, with no warning or invoice as to why or how much, at least they could of sent a bill to confirm the payment. Other than this everything else was good. Thanks Sixt team.

This is an awful company and are designed to catch you out on any claims they want for “damages” with no evidence provided. Staff are clearly instructed to try and get extra money out of customers any way they can. Don’t hire from them. Worst customer experience we have had.
