Visited the pharmacy here because my prescription was listed on GoodRX as least expensive to fill here. This was my first time filling a prescription at a Smith's pharmacy and I was yelled at by the pharmacist that I need to fill my prescriptions where I live (I currently have a house in Sandy and a studio by my work downtown) and that since I have used Walgreen's in the past that she would prefer I use Walgreen's since my prescription is for a controlled substance. Very rude considering the fact that I am a first time customer and she was basically telling me "we don't want your business." In addition to this, I suspect with spite she filled my prescription very last since I insisted that she fill it. I waited for quite a while with no communication from the staff as I stood by the counter. (It took 1 hr) my HSA Card was also declined for a portion of the amount even though I had plenty of funds in that account and I had to fumble around my car for a form of payment that wasn't a Visa since smiths doesn't accept Visas. Cheaper prescription prices don't make up for this unprofessional behavior and treatment and because of this, you just lost a potential customer for all my future prescription fills. I've never had issues like this elsewhere. Thank you, next.
Patty, the technician did not want to help me AT ALL. She told me my prescription was not there because it “wasn’t typed up” so I asked her to check the fax and she was not wanting to do that but eventually did after I persistently asked her to. Mind you, the fax is five steps from the register. Eventually, I got her to check the fax and there were my prescriptions. She didn’t want to do her job and find a meter that was covered by my insurance so she told me they couldn’t fill it. After some back and forth and my frustrated persistence (and a pregnancy back ache from this stress) She just wanted me out of her hair so she passed me off to Carma, who really tried to help me get my glucometer, test strip, and lancets. I actually can’t say enough good things about carma because she was patient, works hard, and showed compassion. I didn’t get my prescriptions because I am giving up on this pharmacy. But Carma at least tried to help me after a frustrating run around with this pharmacy.
This pharmacy is the absolute worst. They never have anything ready when you go to pick it up. On one visit the pharmacist insisted on giving me a full breakdown on my meds after I had spent time already discussing them in great detail with my doctor. The next experience I had with them was even worse, my doctor was sending through a prescription. I called to see if it had come through, they placed me on hold because they said they were short staffed and it was busy. After 10 minutes on hold the phone started just ringing with no answer. I hung up and called back, I told them I just had a quick question and was put on hold again for another 10 minutes and finally got an answer. The last straw for me was when I called in a prescription an hour in advance and got there to still have to wait 15 minutes as again they were short staffed. I finally decided that I would help them so they will now be less busy by transferring my prescriptions to Harmon’s.
These people are amazing. We've known Suzanne and the group for nearly 20 years, and they have never been less than completely concerned about our family's health. They even ordered in a special stock of my son's medication to make sure he was using the same manufacturer, which was crucial for controlling his seizures. I've watched this group go through every possible option to find discounts for seniors, coupons for poor students and making certain they could do everything possible to assist the people who come to them. They are professional and skilled- and they've caught two instances when a doctor has prescribed something that would have mixed badly with another medication. They are worth driving across the valley for, maybe across the state. The best group of pharmacists in the state.
I have never seen such childish behavior from a pharmacy as I witnessed at this pharmacy on one particular occasion. I thought the manager at the 5th east pharmacy and I had built up a good business relationship based on all the years I had been a client at this location. Apparently not. On the day in question I tried to fill my monthly prescription, but it was one day early to be filled by Smith's rules. Unfortunately the manager at this Smiths and I got into an alteration and I asked if my prescription could be transferred to another pharmacy willing to fill that day. This is a medication that I depend on and will cause seizures if not taken. It's okay with me that they didn't want to fill it, but refusing to transfer it to a pharmacy that would fill it put my life in jeopardy.
They are rude, and think everyone is a junky. They will lie and say they never spoke to the doctor when the doctor called them multiple times. If they don't want you to have a medication they will do anything to stop it from going through. I spoke to the male pharmacist the night before. he said I can fill it the next day just be the first in line. The next day im there, first thing she was rude to a guy who asked where he can dispose of old medications. Who would think a pharmacy would know that sort or thing. the rude lady then makes up some B.S. policy that ive never heard of and any other employee heard of. And i had to be on a flight out of the country a few hours later. My doctor said he spoke to them. They lied and have ZERO integrity. I'm never filling here again.
Make sure you check all your medicines before you leave!!! I had a relative recently pick up a prescription of an inhaler. The prescription was for 2 inhalers, but we had no idea. So when we realized they only gave us one inhaler it was too late. We were already home and we had no proof how many it was, so either the pharmacy made a mistake or an employee kept and stole an inhaler. We tried to call them no one would help us and a female employee just sat in silence on the phone and wouldn't help. We tried to get another inhaler from the doctor but the rude pharmacist named Carma told them we can't have a refill. So now there's a senior that has to go a month without an inhaler because of this smith's pharmacy.
This is the worst Pharmacy ever! Don't come here unless you want your prescription messed-up and your time wasted. I usually have a bad experience here, but the icing on the cake was when I filled a prescription that cost me $109 out of pocket. I asked for a consultation, and they never informed me that it needed to be refrigerated nor was it written on the instructions on the bottle. Needless to say by the time a realized this, it was ruined! When I called and spoke with the manager, she refused to give me a new one, and charged me again even though they didn't do their job in the first place! I have decided never to come her again, everyone is so rude.
Excessive wait times regardless of time of day. Also, perpetual problems getting prescriptions filled correctly the first time. There is always a suggestion to call your prescribing doctor to sort the issue, but given that it’s never the same doctor or prescription for me or my family over the last 7 years, the problem lies w/ this pharmacy. Can no longer spend my time here hoping they’ll get it right on the first try or in a timely manner anymore.
Every time I have used this pharmacy they have been inefficient, and very unprofessional. Similar to many other individuals' experiences I will call to refill a prescription, and they will tell me that it will be "several hours." However, when I come to pick it up, more often than not it has not been started. The tech that I spoke to the last time I had called was extremely rude. I don't recommend using this pharmacy.
What a nightmare. From day one they have made a mess of my medication. They don't have it or they don't give me all of it. Or short me medication and say I can't get it until next month because they were out of most of it and they gave me 80 pills out of 120 I never did get those extra 40 pills. Why am I still here. Because I can only transfer 1 time and I'm moving in a few months. I hate this place.
They continuously refuse to fill my prescription from my doctor that I need in order to get better. Somehow they think they know better than doctors. Also they have people doing drugs outside next to their drive thru window. Kind of ironic for a pharmacy. And very sketchy. There are other pharmacies nearby and I highly recommend using those. This one is super unreliable and very sketchy.
Really upset, the last month they made me come back 3 times for my meds because they were out! Then again this last one they charged me over $50 for them when I called my insurance they said the most I should be paying in 4$ max $20. There’s been too many-issues, now looking for a better place I can rely on and helps me.
I would give place 0 stars if I could. I switched my prescriptions there and had nothing but problems. Inept and uncaring. They are incompetent. I never had such problems trying to fill my prescriptions. How can I take care of myself and stay healthy when I cannot get my medicines.
I’ve been using this pharmacy for a few years and haven’t had any problems. My only criticism is that it gets very busy during rush hour times (weekdays after 5pm), and the line can get long. Otherwise, it’s perfectly fine and the staff are helpful if you have any questions.
Really weird about controlled substances even as someone who has gone there for 10 straight years almost, and they still mess my prescription up ALL THE TIME! They still don't believe who I am I don't think lol, just crazy bizarre, I should go elsewhere, and will soon.
Don’t use this pharmacy, order wasn’t ready on time, then they told me 15-20 minutes, wasn’t ready, 15 min later, not ready, 15 min later not ready. Everyone in line sounded like they had the same experience. You’ll be there all day.
The pharmacists, interns, and techs here are fantastic! So many times, they’ve gone out of their way to educate me, offer cheaper alternatives, and validate my needs. Especially Clare (spelling) as the boss, is always excellent!
Always issues with this pharmacy. They have messed up with medications a number of times. There was a time when they gave me the wrong medications. They're also rude and unprofessional. Highly don't recommend this place.
Don’t work with this pharmacy, I have been working with this pharmacy since May 2021 And every month it has been a nightmare to get my meds. Save yourself the trouble and the money and go somewhere else
Every time I use this Smith's Pharmacy they are quite helpful and courteous. One time the pharmacist found a coupon for me that brought the price of a new prescription down to ~$9 from over $30. Nice!
Love this location for my medication refills. I go here all the time to pick up refills and to shop. I take my service dog with me and they are very friendly to the service dog when he is with me.
Never has my prescription ready, even if it's been ordered 48 hours before showing up to pick-up. Always have to wait 30-45 minutes to get a simple prescription filled. Unbelievable.
Awesome all of it from products to employees very helpful and caring always wearing a smile and being courteous no matter how busy the best store in salt lake heck the best in utah.
This pharmacy is horrible! I've switched to CVS because they are so rude! I don't understand why they can't be a little bit more compassionate and a little bit more polite!
Not only did they not have a prescription filled that was placed a week ago. They said it would take 15 mins to fill, that was 30 mins ago. They're not busy either.
Great establishment. I have high deductible insurance and they were able to get me a discount on my meds taking the price down by 60%. I will be returning.
I wouldn't recommend using Smith's Pharmacy if you have multiple insurances. I always end up having to pay out-of-pocket even though I am triple insured.
I do not recommend this place for Covid boosters. They opened at 9, and at 9:15 they had not even gotten started. Time is precious! Go somewhere else.
Some of Pharmacist's that work here are rude and act like they're above you. They have issues getting prescriptions filled on time as well.
The pharmacist is really super rude. I really don't like to go hear because the pharmacist is immature and unprofessional. To bad, so sad.
Sometime A very long wait and they will put your prescription back if you don’t pick it up within a few days otherwise friendly and nice
Sometimes it can be busy, but it comes with the location. Very helpful staff and very professional and patient with the customer.
They have been a good pharmacy for us, always responsive. They have some rush hours to work around but that can happen anywhere.
They are incredible and have helped us through some of the toughest medical challenges for our family. We love them.
The nicest homeless man I’ve ever met along with his dog Petey are usually in the front vestibule say hi to them ☺️
I've just been put on hold for 13 minutes! I haven't even TALKED to anyone!!! And I'm just asking a question!
Some pharmacists seem disinterested with helping customers or answering questions
Re-done, clean. Great Employees. Wish the cold drinks had more variety.
Line was super long and it took me 45 minutes to get my prescription.
Haven’t had my medication for 5 weeks because of logistical setbacks.
Good pharmacy just can be very slow filling scripts.
Awesome staff who really work for patients.
Pharmacists are very nice and polite!
Would like more choices.
