"Overall really like this library but often times there are people watching videos and listening to recordings or loudly on their phone and I'm thinking "when did this become acceptable?" I guess it's hard to ask the staff to circulate and intervene when someone is making noise bc people can be crazy, but could we get a silent section? (With clear signs that say "beyond this point is a silent zone ")"

I came in tonight to pick up a book I had placed on hold and did not see it. This was my first time picking up a book from the Jax library so I thought maybe I was not looking for it in the right spot. I asked the shorter, older man working where I could find it and he began explaining it to me like a child. Essentially, I needed to be notified by an email, NOT by the app which, “has been down for a while”. I walked outside to get my phone and came back with the email where another, taller, old man gave me a dirty look and told me they were closing. I explained that I needed to provide the email to the other man. Then about 4 staff members explained that the hold I placed was for a digital book, not the physical book. I understand that was a silly mistake on my part, but the fact that about 4 staff members started laughing at me made me never want to return to a library again. This was a really disappointing experience and I wouldn’t recommend going here to anyone. Just buy the book online !

What a pleasant, clean, and well organized library. To be honest...I haven't been in a better Public Library. They have the following separate designated areas: teen, children's, adult's etc. There's separate conference rooms that you can reserve where you can meet with other people and talk freely. Theres large tables with adequate charging ports, right on top of the table. They appear to be for wall connections so you would need the USB cord and the base. It has adequate seating and multiple computer areas so you can safely social distance if you need too. If you bring a USB external Harddrive you can scan to it for a price of 5 cent per job. What a great resource. Color copies are 50 cents...this is comparable to a FedEx or Office Max. Staff was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The younger lady at the circulation desk was the most helpful and knowledgeable when it came to the use of the scanner. Jacksonville...you all have a lil Gem with this Library

I have been coming here over the last three years and the staff is wonderful. This library is so good that it has become my go to library in Jacksonville. There is ample parking out front and you do not even have to get out of your car to return a book, because there is a book deposit drive through. If you do go inside you will see a spacious library with a lot of helpful staff. This locations boasts a lot of books and in the instances where they do not have a book you have the option of getting it from a different branch or even borrowing from other countries in Florida. This location is great for meeting up with peers to work on a project, tutoring, or just to study for a test. The library is rather close to town center so you can go and grab a quick coffee or bite and come back. They also have clean bathrooms, computers with internet access, and you can print for a fee here. This place has a lot going for it.

Everytime I've been helped, I've gotten nothing but quick and professional service. I've been to a few of the classes and they're organized and much better quality than I expected for free. There was a book that I returned and it didn't register that I returned it thru the drop-off box. When I told one of the librarians, she gave me the benefit of the doubt and walked the shelves with me to find it on the shelves. I appreciate how much studying and work space there is. The bathrooms are always clean. I appreciate the small children and teen areas; it helps keep the noise levels down in the rest of the place. I can't say enough!

Overall really like this library but often times there are people watching videos and listening to recordings or loudly on their phone and I'm thinking "when did this become acceptable?" I guess it's hard to ask the staff to circulate and intervene when someone is making noise bc people can be crazy, but could we get a silent section? (With clear signs that say "beyond this point is a silent zone "). Anything to help people who really want to come here to study in silence. I like their big tables with outlets though. That's nice. And different sectioned off zones for kids and teens is nice also

Very quality, as all of the branches are. This particular location features drive thru returns of materials, study carrels and seems to have a deeper selection of current event and geopolitical titles than some of the other branches. Good amount of wide open spaces and a picturesque window to me give an impression of something visionary and greater. There is also an adult learning center on site. I looked briefly, it had to do with requirements of U.S. citizenship.

What a great library in a beautiful setting. It's very modern but comfortable. There is a lot of staff to help. It has a very large collection of books including an entire room just for children. We reserved a room because we just needed a quiet and private place to talk business. There are many rooms from a small room with a table like we had to large meeting areas for bigger groups. This is a great resource for the community.

Love the vibe of this Library. Well maintained and cataloged Books. Also they have color and black-white printing facilities available for nominal charges. They have workstations as well as meeting rooms. This library runs lot of activities for kids in the form of science and art clubs. Check out their website for up to date information. Best part is people in library follow guidelines and lovely place for gaining knowledge.

One of my favorite places of Jacksonville is this library. Lovely atmosphere - serene, loads of books and multimedia. As an immigrant I was pleasantly surprised that membership is free and I got one. I get around 3-4 books and keep renew them 1-2 times. The whole checkin and checkout of books, online account management and the whole process is very smooth. Pls do use this facility if you live on Jacksonville.

The best library I ever visited in Jacksonville, with a large space to fit many people at the same time. Social distancing is followed there with this pandemic Covid-19 going on. Temperature check is required before entering the building and face mask is required while inside . Plus, they have books from a huge variety of subjects that I enjoy. I highly recommend this place to spend time studying or reading.

I really enjoy coming here. It is a peaceful stop for me weekly. There is plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable. The tables have plugs for electronics and laptops.. there are dedicated sections for kids and teens.. it is well kept crashing clean and comfortable to enjoy some reading out of the house. Search for comics.. find some new audio books etc. A+

This branch has so many activities for kids and adults! My son loves Family Art Night on Tuesday and the Chess Club on Friday's. The staff is always so helpful with finding whatever you are looking for. There are so many computers available that you never have to wait. Great place to spend a couple hours a week!

Staff is incredibly helpful, especially when you are researching a difficult topic. Facilities are very conducive to quiet reading and/or studying. Parents, bring your kids here and teach them how to use the library and its features. You will be giving them a gift for life.

I have absolutely fallen in love with this location. Large spacious parking lot. Large spacious library. The layout for the youth, teens and adults works really well. I had to use the printer today and received awesome customer service when I required assistance.

  • Ramon Torres

The staff is always nice and helpful. There are plenty of open spaces and seating areas. I've never found the bookshelves to be disorganized. The check-in/check-out process is absolutely painless. I would definitely recommend a visit if you've never been inside.

  • Kat March

A very nice, large and well outfitted library. Outlet tables abound, comfy chairs, teen area, charging station, children's area, self checkouts and self check-in as well. Staff seemed friendly and answered DH question about board games for checkout.

  • Javad Khalesi

Yes its a good library! Indeed! But it would be nice to put a sign at the entrance and let the public know:” printers are not working today”!! Also, : “There has been an update on log in procedures using your pin information””. Thank you!

This is the entire African American fiction book section at the Deerwood Park location and the books are worn and dated. This is a disgrace.
