I have had The Church on my list to visit for a while now. Went in with coworkers for a business lunch since it was few minutes away from the office. And when I tell you it was great. We have been served fairly quickly, water was brought to the table right away as daily special was introduced. We have gotten our drinks and food followed shortly after. As i took a soup i was asked whether i wish to have it before the main meal or together with it which is a great touch. All of our food came at the same time and it was delicious. I had a soup, fish and chips, and other had a burger, chips, and a porchetta paninni. We had two or three rounds of drinks and a dessert. The portions are big enough and overall its been affordable, since we have been in a city center. The stuff was checking on us regularly to make sure everything was okay. After we finished a dessert/warm drinks menu was given and we decided to have some too. My manager said it was my birthday and they sang a bday song when dessert arrived. They removed my dessert from the check because they didn't have any cards which is what they usually do when its someones birthday. The ambient is so cosy and warm so i really enjoy it. Bit of music in the background but still fairly separated so you have a bit of privacy too. There is an outdoor area but havent been out as its getting colder. Will be returning at a different time to try other things on the menu.

There is plenty of space for those with smaller children and prams as well as those bigger ones, and even though I haven't been in with my baba I am sure if and when I do they will be accommodating.

From the moment we went though the door, got shown to the reserved table, to ordering, to eating and the moment we left, the service was outstanding. It is very rare with such a busy place, that staff can be consistant in offering 5-star attentiveness and good spirit throughout. My father in law is deaf but that was no barrier to the staff here. Simply wonderful. And the food was top quality too. The sauce i had with my chicken.supreme was to die for and the plate wasnt overfilled with bland and pointless rabbit food bathed hopelessly in vinegarette and raw onion. Just the right amount on the plate to not put me off. We all polished our plates. Loved the cool little basket they served my boys sausages n chips in. Although when i told him it would be perfect for him to use for shopping at Tescos he took it quite literally, and thought that if he finished it all then the basket would be his forever. The beers and cocktails were gorgeous, the baileys coffee could have done with a little more baileys i.suppose but that could just be me being a slob. We often go to The Church anyway when in town and will return again (preferrably minus the kids and in-laws next time) for a good feed and a lovely atmosphere. Everything about this place oozes class, without the pretentousness of other establishments in the area. Very very impressed. Yes the prices are on the high side but as i.have said before, you dont mind paying for a top service. Lovely afternoon.

We had a great time on both of our visits! Our waiter William was fantastic! He was so attentive and personable, so much so that we specifically asked for him the second time. He also gave us a list of towns to visit on our next trip to Italy. He went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations! Each visit we then sat at the bar for a few night caps after dinner. The bartenders were the best in Dublin! Very professional, entertaining, and we were impressed by the precision of their work, like a fine oiled machine. Hats off to the Bar Manager, he also engaged in conversation with us. The food was delicious, especially the mango & lime chicken wing appetizer. Best wings ever! I ordered them on both visits. The Restaurant Manager (the gentleman with the beard) was so friendly and helpful, he answered all our questions. Thank you to everyone at The Church for making our nights special! The entire hard working staff deserve kudos. If you’re visiting Dublin, I highly recommend you put the Church as #1 on your to-do list!

Tourists might be surprised that some locals also visit The Church from time to time. Especially after late night Thursday shopping or an after office drink for those who work nearby. Even the Irish wing of the Eurovision fan club meets here! The food is really good with large portions and the beer/cocktails are ok if not a tad expensive (welcome to Dublin). The music and irish dancing is strictly for visitors but they really need to get better speakers or PA for the musicians and a sturdier dance floor. My recommendation is to visit after 9pm when the music is coming to an end and you'll probably get a good table for dinner, upstairs overlooking the main bar.

Such a great place, definitely recommend calling in before, to get a table otherwise you’ll have to wait quite a while before being seated. But once seated definitely worth the wait ! Go there on a Thursday evening to have the live Irish music and the dance, plus the building is amazing, they kept the structure and the old staircase, absolutely beautiful!! Not cheap but not expensive, a single dish is 20€ if you do not eat an appetizer or take dessert so I highly recommend this place ! If one day I go back to Dublin I will definitely will be eating there on a Thursday night !!

Strongly recommendation this place to 1st time tourist to Dublin. The food was great, the ambience was marvellous with the Irish music and traditional Irish dance. We booked a table a day in advance just to dine and watch the famous Irish traditional dance and music . But, it has more to offer than we could ask for. The Church Cafe opens in the morning that you can come in to view and walk around to discover historical events happening 100- 300 years in the city of Dublin. It's free entrance.

Overall a cool place to eat at if you are nearby and the food is pretty good too. The service at first was not very welcoming to my table but the other tables in the area were very friendly. After ordering main course the waiter was kinder so I don't think that is common place. Overall the food was good and the rest of service was good too. You are encouraged to walk around and take pictures and see the whole restaurant which is really cool. They also seem to do live music and dancing in the summer around 6pm.

Well worth the hype! The atmosphere has everything you want and more! The food is simple but amazing! And everyone was friendly. The upstairs is more relaxed dinning with an awesome birds eye view of the entire set up tou get a little bit of the party vide from down stairs but not to much. Main floors is bumpin. With great music and plenty of space for any size party with really cool seating. The cellar is a super relaxed quite feel similar to a speak easy with great atmosphere and comfortable seating. The food was simple but incredible. Everything we was well made and full of flavor. Our server was awesome in a place that big it was impressive how well and fast she handled everything. 10 out of 10.

Had dinner as part of a group while visiting Dublin. Reservation seems a must as few people in front turned away as so busy. Building is beautifully lit and decorated retaining many original features. Service was great and we had a table in the celler bar. Not as noisy as the open area, very nice booths and bar down there a more relaxed dining experience. Food was good, not fine dining by any means but was great and solid choice. Staff very helpful, service was fast and food was well presented. Highly recommend a visit as building is beautiful along with its history

This was highly recommended so we went out of our way to go for lunch. First, the service was outstanding. I would go back just for that. The menu was fine. The atmosphere was ok. Nothing wrong with the atmosphere but the whole concept of a church converted to a restaurant would seem to be about the atmosphere. But aside from the cool organ pipes on one wall, you really can't tell that it was a church. Plus they sat us in the terrarium section outside the building which was nice enough but definately does not look or feel like a church at all. Bottom line, worth it but don't expect a unique experience.

The Church!!!! Got this recommendation from a bartender at Zampas and he was on point! An old church converted into a Restaurant and Bar. We wanted an outdoor space to have a few drinks and this was perfect. When we got there we were promptly seated outside and given menus. We ordered both food and drinks and everything was perfect. There is also a large bar on the inside and plenty of seating. I’d definitely recommend The Church for anyone looking for a great place in Dublin to have something to eat and a few drinks.

This place’s interior is absolutely beautiful. Food is amazing. From the main dish to the dessert, it keeps getting tastier and beautiful. We were 6 to visit. However, you need to reserve in advance. We struggled to reserve for two consecutive days but eventually were able to book a table after. I would absolutely recommend it if you’re visiting Dublin. The waitress was super open and welcoming. Also, don’t expect it to be calm dining, there is always music and dancing happening on the ground floor. Price wise acceptable, we paid around 50€/person and each person had a drink, main dish and dessert.

Restaurant was a short distance from our hotel and therefore was a easy dinner option for the evening. Heads up if you have minors with you you must make a reservation before 7pm as this restaurant strictly follows the rules that any restaurant serving alcohol does not allow children inside after 9pm. Had the Cod with beans and it was plentiful. Hubby had the curry which he thoroughly enjoyed. Also live music which is a nice added touch.

Awesome! Great experience. Even the place is quite touristic, the food&drinks was of a good quality. Music and dancing were also a nice addition to dinner. The bar itself is beautiful and if you get a chance to get a table at the gallery at the 1st floor, you’ll be really lucky. Reservation is required, if walk-in - be prepared to get an average table somewhere in the corner, if you even get one…Quite hot inside. Kid-friendly. Very welcoming and friendly service. We loved the place, it has a great atmosphere.

Generally a good place to have some mostly good food. The quality does not deserve the price however. Don’t buy the steak. Pros: Old church, beautiful architecture, nice vibe with live singing, playing and dance, some of the things on the menu are good. Cons: Service is a bit lacking, not frequent or attentive enough (but friendly and helpful), the steak was an insult to steak-lovers (DO NOT ORDER THE STEAK - I literally had to spit out 25% of it because it was so tough and unpalatable), the cocktails are alright but a bit watered down and lacking substance (no professional bar, just employees who do a good job imitating a good bar).

  • Monty Elistratov

Awesome experience here, a place where finally I can find a ribeye steak. Also, they cooked it the way I ordered it, and the only way this cut should be cooked. Good flavor, good sides too and great wine and drink selections. The serviced also was amazing, we had 2 people and the guy was on top of everything and the girl was definitely the cherry on top, very beautiful and Spanish speaker as well, so overall we had an amazing time here.

I went on my work Christmas party here. We all paid 65€ a head and we’re given a set menu for the dinner. I had the salmon and mackerel roll as a starter which was delicious but you need to love fish to like it. I then got a medium rare steak which was exceptional. I wouldn’t usually be a huge steak eater but this was out of the park. We stayed there for the night and went downstairs dancing. The music was good and catered to all age groups but drinks were pricey.

We randomly decided to come to this lovely spot as a late birthday lunch for my mum and didn't expect how much of a great experience we would have as we were just a walk-in! Our waitress was so kind and great at her job (Can't remember her name, but she had short dark hair and glasses) food and dessert was fantastic and the service was so quick for how large and busy this venue is with many tables! Beautiful place, highly recommend.

I highly recommend this place as a great spot for a hen party. We had an amazing time!. The service was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. The cocktails and drinks were reasonable priced, and the music was great. We ordered a platter to share among five people, and it was absolutely delicious. I especially recommend the chicken wings. The platter was so generous that it could easily feed 8 to 10 people.

Very busy but an awesome atmosphere. If you want to watch the live music and dancing DO NOT eat in the upstairs restaurant. You wont see anything unless you walk past everyone and the servers to a small viewing area above the stage. Eat downstairs around the bar or wait for a table to open up at the stage area. It's worth the wait.

It’s a nice cozy place. Apparently it was a Protestant church which became a pub and now it is very popular. One of the most interesting dining experiences ever. The restaurant/pub is located inside of an old church. The atmosphere is great, there is live Irish music and dancing Sunday to Thursday. There is a church inside that has been converted into a tavern. Looking up, you can see the antique pipe organ that serves as décor. a variety of beverages and foods to choose from in this bizarre setting. If you're lucky, you might see Irish dances and traditional music performed. Waitstaff and bartenders are courteous and professional. A wonderful pit stop and a lovely memory for Dublin vacationers.

I had been curious about the Church for some time now because of the unique atmosphere. The vibe of the place definitely lived up to the hype and the cocktails we ordered were pretty good. We also saw some traditional Irish dancing, which was fun. That being said it was VERY busy (hard to find seating) and it was on the pricier side. I would say it's good to see and have a drink at once, but then find a cheaper place.

My hubby and I had dinner here on 9/1/23 to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary. We were blessed to celebrate this mile marker in Dublin, Ireland, and knock this off of our bucket list. We stayed at The Morrison, and they recommended The Church. My hubby and I shared the Guinness & Plum Glazed Baby Back Pork Ribs, and they were absolutely amazing!! Seriously, finger lickin' good! Amazing. Great food, great service and great venue. Thoroughly recommended as a place to visit. We went on a pre-booked midweek evening meal in May, and we were shown quickly to our table, all the waiters were very good, and the food was faultless. The live music wasn't too loud from the gallery where we were seated. More

This was one of our Highlights when staying in Dublin. Live folk music, tap dancers, in a real church and good food (-1star because my chicken was a little dry) we had a blast here, you have to check out this place!

The Church is a must stop in Dublin. Their food and drinks are fantastic. The atmosphere is amazing. And the Irish Step dancing and music on Sundays is the icing on the cake. Plan ahead and make reservations.

Got intrigued by the church turn to restaurant. The alcohol whiskey was good, the lamb stew was so tender, and the calamari was superb. The best of the best is the spectacular service by IAN. Service with a warm smile sets the ambiance of a

This restaurant is nearby and looked interesting. We had a very short wait for a table, so we sat at the bar waiting. They do not serve food at the bar, so we just waited. Our table was prepared rapidly, but we were expecting a 40-minute

Ambiance is awesome. Used to be a church (Arthur Guinness was married here in the 1700s) Really great fish & chips... Fish is crispy and piping hot inside. Really good old fashioned!

A must go in Dublin. A restaurant located on what used to be a church. Service is a bit chaotic due to the high volume of people, it took me 3 different requests to get a beer. Food is good although the proportions are a bit small. More

Awesome pub - 100% Irish. Really sensational decor of the premises and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. There are original church organ played and created by Georg Friedrich Handel (including Messiah)!
