Such a great looking place that I’d been hoping to check out for ages. Organised a group of seven for x2 games, spending $280 as a group, plus we all ordered 2-3 drinks each. Drinks on the pricey side too. Food coming out looked great and our plan was to have some snacks while we bowled and a then maybe grab a bigger meal there afterwards. Easy right? Nope!! Apparently food isn’t allowed at the tables near the bowling lanes. Weird rule. BUT also a really confusing rule though because the group before us had left a pile of dirty dishes on our table - plates that were still there. At this point however I noticed that just about every other lane had food or numbers waiting on food at their tables. So I spoke to staff again and was rudely told that no we still couldn’t have food. When I pointed out that most of the other lanes had food, they said they’d obviously ordered elsewhere in the venue and had bought their numbers across and “messaging” just wasn’t getting through. When I again queried why we couldn’t eat and yet everyone else could staff just referred to “the rules”. When I asked why these people weren’t being told they couldn’t eat there if these were the rules, staff refused to engage further. So back we went to our lane, watching waiter after waiter bring out food to the other lanes while the empty plates of the bowlers before us, sat on our table as a reminder of what might have been. Guess we could have paused our games to go and pretend to sit in a food service area and bring our food and numbers over like everyone else but pretty hard to do when you only have a certain time to bowl and the lane was given to us 15 minutes late to begin with…. Shame cause no doubt we we have pumped a fair few more dollars into the venue and really couldn’t be bothered eating at almost 9.30pm. No info RE these complex eating rules on the website or in the terms and conditions link in the booking confirmation - well the link doesn’t work, so who knows?! A pricey night, rude staff and no food, so won’t be coming back in a hurry or recommend. Such a shame would have been great for work functions etc.

If you're looking for a unique and memorable night out in Melbourne's inner north, look no further than the Key Bowling Alley. This retro-inspired venue offers a one-of-a-kind experience that's sure to transport you back to the 1950s. First and foremost, the decor of the Key Bowling Alley is truly incredible. From the vintage bowling shoes to the retro signage and neon lights, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to create an authentic 1950s atmosphere. It's like stepping into a time machine and emerging in a different era. But it's not just the decor that's impressive. The Key Bowling Alley also offers an awesome range of merch, including retro-style bowling shirts, hats, and other accessories. Whether you're a die-hard fan of the retro bowling aesthetic or just looking for a fun souvenir of your night out, there's something for everyone in the merch section. And then there's the drinks. The Key Bowling Alley is famous for its White Russians on tap, a nod to the classic cocktail made famous in the 1998 cult film The Big Lebowski. Whether you're a fan of the film or just looking for a delicious and unique drink, the White Russians at the Key Bowling Alley are not to be missed. But of course, the main attraction at the Key Bowling Alley is the bowling itself. The lanes are top-notch, with modern equipment and plenty of space for players to move around. Whether you're a seasoned bowler or just starting out, you'll appreciate the quality of the lanes and the overall atmosphere of the alley. In short, if you're looking for a night out that combines retro vibes, incredible decor, White Russians on tap, and an awesome range of merch, the Key Bowling Alley is the perfect destination. It's a one-of-a-kind experience that's sure to leave you with lasting memories and a newfound appreciation for the retro bowling aesthetic.

Went here as only a block from home and keen to try it out. Had a table booked. You have to walk pass 90% of the tables to get to reception to be told where you're table is and the have to go back to find it. Our table had other peoples dirty glasses still all over it. Had to go back to reception to ask for it to be cleaned. The Food called pub food is ordinary. Ordered the chicken parma. Got a chicken breast with the wing still attached no salad on the side either, not worth the $29. Most pubs serve a better parma for the price. Friend ordered the burger and fries. Very plain and not much flavour, about the size of a quarter pounder. Ordered food at the bar, no one tells you you have to get your own cutlery and napkins. Lots if drinks to choose from at the bar. Ordered a tom Collins cocktail, didn't come in a cocktail glass just an plain glass. Air con was blasting super cold and had to put long sleeve tops on. A lot of staff behind the bar but didn't notice anyone on the floor overseeing things and checking on customers. The materials used in this place is incredible. Lots of Recycled timber, metals and materials used everywhere adds to a awesome feel to the place. A huge outdoor seating area The decor inside is Incredible. Lots of seating as well as a fireplace, pool tables and some arcade games. Being new it seems to have alot teething problems the hopefully they can be sorted out or refined just to really make this place shine as the place to go to in Preston. Did not try the bowling.

Upon arriving at The Keys, I was immediately impressed by the size and scope of the venue. The bowling alley, pool table, arcade machines provided plenty of entertainment options, and I was also pleased to see a wide selection of local beers on tap. I tried a few different types of the house beer and 3 ravens, and was pleased with the quality of each one. The service at The Keys was top-notch - the staff were friendly and efficient, and made sure our experience was enjoyable. The dining areas were spacious and well-decorated, with a good atmosphere and music selection that really set the mood. Unfortunately, the food quality was not quite up to the same standard as the rest of the venue. The pizzas were a bit underwhelming, with bland sauces and overcooked crusts. The ribs were also a bit of a disappointment, as they were oversalted and lacked the tenderness that I expect from good ribs. I also heard some negative feedback about the parma, with people noting that the sauce was not particularly flavorful and the ham/bacon on top seemed haphazardly placed. Overall, I would still recommend The Keys as a great place to spend a night out with friends. The bowling alley, arcade machines, and wide selection of local beers make it a fun and engaging venue. However, I hope that the food quality can be improved in the future, as it would really take this venue to the next level.

Such a fun venue! Was there opening weekend and whilst there were a few small blips, the entire experience was overall great. The decor is absolutely awesome, the drinks list superb (white russians with oat milk, so good!!), plenty of seating to soak in the good vibes. The blips: (1) our lane booking wasn't ready till about 15-20mins after the start time but we didn't mind to wait at the bar, however we were ushered to hurry during our second game because the next booking behind us was waiting; and (2) on the lower floor there were kids running and doing cartwheels, climbing over/inside the arcade games, etc. I get that it's a family venue but we got bumped carrying our drinks, didn't feel like we could use the arcade games, etc. This is realistically the parents' faults for letting their kids behave that rowdy, but the staff should feel empowered to tell kids/parents to settle down a bit. It'll be tough to get a bowling lane booking in peak times but totally worth it to book in advance. Best part - about a 5 minute walk from my house!!

We booked a ticketed event here but it was so far from what was advertised. Poor service, rude staff, not at all what was offered. We queried with bar staff why the service and event facilities did not match what was advertised and we were met rudeness, that escalated quickly to a refusal of service, sighting RSA requirements when that was not at all the case. The event completely ruined our night and made us feel as if we were in the wrong for what meant to be a fun night, one that we paid quite a lot on money for. We emailed the events team afterwards to provide feedback and were met with a response that was offensive and untrue. There is a clear disparity between the staff and our views on what happened on the night, but the fact is the ticket we bought for the event advertised was not provided on the night. I was so disappointed and offended by the treatment received by the staff here and the response received when feedback was provided. I will never return to this venue and highly encourage others to avoid it.

Went for bowling and dinner on Thursday night. Venue looks great and has a cool vibe. Bowling lanes are nice but our ball return machine needs a bit of redesign. It needs a bit more oomph as the balls don't continue rolling around the rack and often get stuck causing a beeping alarm to sound. Also, a ball that's all the way around the rack will block a new ball returning; it needs a buffer to hold it back. Food was actually pretty good. The spicy pizza was great and the parma was very tasty. Fries could be better. However, service was far below par. As other reviewers have stated, still teething issues. We were a table of 6 and had the earliest and latest meals arrive an hour apart, even after raising the issue earlier. You could tell watching the kitchen release food that the system was far from efficient. I'll put off going back for dinner for a few months at least to see if they pick up their game. For bowling or drinks at the beer garden, awesome venue though!

Cool bowling vibes flow from the interior design with friendly staff especially the lane caddy which is a nice touch. The white Russians on tap made with oat milk and sea salt are ok but may be a bit too fancy for 'the dude' but he might abide. We were booked in for 11:15am for 2 games then were told at 11:45 the lane had been booked for 12pm even though we were only finishing our first game. It was odd since there were another 5 lanes free that they didn't put the 12pm booking on another lane (poor booking decision by whoever managers that) The kitchen doesn't open till 12pm with the full menu only available on weekends so take that into consideration when going, we wanted a few snacks but couldn't get anything so ended up just having a bowl and going somewhere else to eat. Definitely will be back for another roll on the weekend this time so we can order from the menu.

New year's Eve VIP package was an absolute rip off. We were originally on a general access package with free flowing drinks and canapes and no bowling. This got cancelled and 'upgraded' to a VIP package. When we questioned what we were getting for $165 we were informed that we were drinking $25 a glass champagne (we got cut off after 5 drinks) and had access to a chocolate fountain and some canapes (which were later handed out for free to general public area). Also had access to bowling lanes which we had no interest in (which is why we bought the general access ticket in the first place). When we asked for a partial refund we were rudely denied. Will not be returning. What a waste of money. Could have easily been resolved if we had been refunded when the original package option got cancelled but looks like greed got in the way of doing the right thing by customers.

Stopped in tonight for drinks and two games of bowling with my partner to celebrate her birthday. The staff member who greeted us was named Giordiano, who was warm, welcoming and enthusiastic. The bartenders were knowledgeable and helpful in delivering their service all night. During our second game of bowling, I had to step outside for a few minutes so I asked Giordiano to fill in for me for a couple of turns. He was reluctant at first but eventually agreed Upon returning, I was amazed to see that Giordiano had not only landed me a strike, but followed it up with a spare. My girlfriend usually beats me at bowling, but the few extra points that Giordiano secured ensured I walked away victoriously. Massive thanks The Key for being a much needed venue on the North Side, and most importantly Giordiano, for his sharp looks and superior bowling skills

Weird. Absurdist inspirations? Had a fun and casual time with mates here, left my backpack. Came back later to ask staff if it was handed in, as it had some student work from an excursion. It wasn't there. Left my number in case it turned up. Went to check the carpark in case it was dumped, then was barred from coming back in. Why? Who knows. Maybe the manager wanted the EpiPen. Update: venue kind enough to contact when worthless bag mysteriously reappeared weeks later! Can now confirm manager did NOT use the school epipen, previous speculation clearly unfounded. Boosted the star rating on my review for this act of kindness. On later reflection, an entirely normal experience, one that in no way seemed strange and bizarre to the various friends and colleagues that witnessed it unfold. Heartily recommend that this is indeed a venue.

$44 for one game (10 frames) is up there. The tech supporting the game initiation/start isn’t there so reliance on Reception. It all seems super new and vague to the staff which is probably fair. Had our game and decided to eat there afterwards. Order at the bar and the dreaded ask comes - “whereabouts are you sitting?” I then need to explain it’s between a corrugated iron wall and a large hanging chain. It would be so much simpler if each table had a number that could be quoted. Meals arrived, minus cutlery, condiments or napkins. You can have all of these things if you ask but should we have to ask? People smoking in the non-smoking area was another issue. Too many hippies in general. Would I return? Yes, probably but would be nice to see some of these issues addressed.

  • Sara Stenman

Great venue and had a fun night bowling with friends. However must say the pizza was very mediocre and tasted more like fried flat bread with cheese. Definitely go for the parmas if you are eating there, most people in our group ordered them and were very happy. You can’t book a table but the staff ensured we would find room on the night for our group of 11. This was however a little tricky as the place is very popular. There is also no spare chairs around to pull up so we had to squeeze in around a table. Our bowling game got cut off before we finished even though we didn’t book by the hour. The staff ended up relocating us to a new lane so that we could finish the last bracket. Worked out in the end but slightly annoying for a competitive group of people.

  • Josh

Good bowling, but the kitchen needs improving. Lost one of our orders completely, long waits on the other meals, all came out at different times with big gaps in between. We allowed an hour prior to our game booking but some of us ended up having to eat dinner while we played. A lot of the bar staff seemed very young and inexperienced, old brown limes in g&ts, and the glassies kept unnecessarily handling everyone's drinks instead of just asking if they were empty, which most of the time they clearly weren't. Also not ideal to let 6 people book a lane when there aren't 6 seats at the lane, so one of us had to stand the whole time, then the game timed out so we didn't even get to finish. The whole place is nice, but it could easily be better.

  • Eric Gunderson

Absolutely incredible space. I loved the bowling alley. The design and vibe of it all was amazing. I'll definitely be back. Given who opened this place up and how much I love their other venues, I had super high hopes for the food. Sadly that's where things fell apart a bit. We had cheese burgers, eggplant Parm, hot wings, cauliflower poppers. Aside from the poppers, everything was just a little bland. Really lacked seasoning. Burger had very little flavour, same for the parm. Hot wings weren't that spicy, which is fine, but the chicken under the sauce was pretty meh... Maybe this was a dud night. I'm definitely not writing this place off yet. Fingers crossed for next time.

WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. I attended this venue for a 30th birthday for a beloved family member and after being there for less then 2 hours was “kicked out” by security for attending the same bathroom as my partner when I was pregnant. When I tried to inform the “manager” of the situation when I was questioned why I went into the bathroom, I was told it was irrelevant and was kicked out without an opportunity to explain myself. I have never been more disgusted by a male security detail in my life. I hope the staff that didn’t give me an opportunity to explain myself feel as awful as they should, they are a disgrace to modern society I am appalled.

  • Jodie Foreman

Loved it. Things for me to remember for next time. If we wear sneakers, no need to wear their bowling shoes. One game is fun and a perfect length. Two games is quite long. We'd be better off playing one game then having dinner there. A small group can all fit around one of the fireplaces. They cater to a variety of dietary needs. Very easy. Pizza, burgers, snacks type menu. The bar had a great selection. Loads of quality beer choices, a very tasty alcoholic ginger beer, multiple wine options and cocktails including White Russians on tap. Also some non alcoholic beers. It's really nice inside. Not loud, tasteful decor and lovely staff. A top night out.

  • Jess

Extremely rude bouncer, me and my friends all aged 18 and 19 showed up to the front of the venue and we’re immediately spoken to rudely. Bouncer yelled “what are you ladies doing here, where are your parents!?” not even “Hi guys how are you, this is an 18+ venue, can I please see some ID?” That is all he had to ask, politely and nicely. I then asked him if he wanted to see ID to which he sounded confused and just said yeah, concerning that a bouncer didn’t think to ask for ID first before anything. Other than that, food and drinks were nice, bowling was fun too. Just please educate your bouncers to be nicer in the future.

  • Marni Thomas

Amazing venue, love this place I’ve already been multiple times. I have coeliac disease and the staff were amazing, they let the kitchen know and were so reassuring, they have two dedicated gf fryers! The chef even made a gluten free rockling for me which was unbelievably good! Second time I went I had the gluten free pizza and it is honestly the best pizza I’ve ever had! My dad and my brother who are also coeliac agree and LOVED the ribs! Overall an amazing place for everyone, such a nice vibe, so many areas and different experiences to enjoy you don’t even have to bowl to have an awesome time!

  • A Recipe Blog

So great to check out this much awaited and anticipated venue that finally opened its doors to its founding members tonight Absolutely love the ultra cool fit out, nothing is accidental, everything has been painstakingly thought out, you can see it in each and every detail. Cool tunes, delicious wines, local pints and the bites coming out of the kitchen were all so tasty. Can’t wait to come back and check out the meals plus the cocktails, gee, there are some good ones on there Thanks for a great Friday night, perfect timing sneaking in just before the torrential downpour too ️

  • Amanda H

Great place and fabulous cocktails. Really nice vibe, but the booking staff are horrible, and do nothing more than look after their friends who come in and give the lanes to them. They tell you that you can't book online for a few hours in advance, and you can't book a lane while in the venue for a later time, you have to just wait around to book closer to the time, (presumably to spend more money in the venue). When you go up before the time they tell you to, they say oh sorry someone booked it online it was a "glitch". This terrible booking system has been an issue twice now.

  • Lorena Duranthon

Amazing looking place, knowing it's a 150 year old warehouse! Congratulations on what they have done to the place A bit disappointed by the food as the wait was very long and the burger was very plain, although the pizza was tasty Great selection of beers though It's very cool that they have do many different setups: a bowling alley, pool tables and arcade games, huge outside area - you sure won't get bored there! I would definitely go again, hoping that the food improves. It is great to have something like this locally!

  • Luke Shalley

Bowled about 10 games here over the last 2 days. My first comment was the staff are absolutely phenomenal. They greet everyone with a perfect attitude and are extremely welcoming and will help you out the best they can. You can tell it’s a positive work environment as all the staff get along and vibe very well. The theme for this bowl and the atmosphere is unlike any I’ve visited before and I’ll certainly be returning to see the friendly faces greeting me at the counter. Props to all you guys for creating a great atmosphere for all to enjoy.

  • Rick

This is one cool place to have some fun and a feed. With bowling, arcade games , pool tables and kitchen there is plenty to do and eat. Lots of sitting area. Indoor and out, especially out side. The staff are friendly and dressed like in the 70s. It is a great place to take the family or hang out with friends. And with all the bars, beers and cocktails. Good times ahead. My only issue it's a little pricey on the menu and bowling 18 per game. But that's just me. I'll defenalty be back but mostly for the beers, such a good selection.

  • Danielle Anderson

Super fun bowling! You can bowl in your own sneakers if you want, the lanes are beautiful ❤️ and the range of bowling balls are clearly marked with finger hole size as well as weight so you can find the perfect ball for you. Pizzas were tasty with crispy crust, cocktails were great and service all round from reception to bar staff was on to it! Bonus facilities in the arcade area (change notes for tokens) which kept the kids entertained, and two half size pool tables This place is THE BEST!

  • Julie Borbidge

Epic venue. Had so much fun. Parmas are different compared to the typical, but in a really good way!!!! Staff were all friendly!! Bouncer almost didn’t let my 17 yr old brother in, but i was his responsible adult so he allowed us to enter. He made the bartenders aware which was good on their part, but eyes on us at all time was a little uncomfortable… Regardless we totally understood the reasoning behind all the fuss. Thanks guys!! Will be back!!

  • Rachel Grover

Loved this place! Had such a great night. Whole place is made to look vintage, with low lighting which really sets the mood. Bowling was fun and if you have sneakers in you don't need to wear the bowling shoes (this is great) The food was honestly 10/10. We had the snitzle. It was honestly like half a chicken boned and fried (with the wing attached) Snooker was fun to play too. Will 100% be going back. Great service and nice staff.

  • Les Barnes

Terrific inclusive atmosphere at this place, really friendly staff for the most part (a couple of the newer, younger bar blokes could learn to smile and at least pretend to be friendly). Great range of tucker and drinks available and bowling is heaps of fun. Like they say on their website, parking is virtually non existent so tram, user, cab or get a lift. That way you can have an extra cocktail too!

  • Prue Gildea

Held a Sunday arvo birthday drinks here. It was sunny, fun, friendly with tasty food and drinks. Staff were so lovely and and brought my dog a water bowl (with ice - bless). When I accidentally let him sniff under another table and he found a chip they told me he had to be on lead and brought him a treat. All round lovely experience. Many of my pals commented they’ll be back. Thanks Keys!

  • Mark Spies

Amazing fit out of the old Electric Factory (ELFA) HQ here in Preston. Awesome nostalgic bowling alley (albeit modern day pricing), great short menu or classics and multiple bars with 48 taps of beer and White Russians on tap (hi there Big Lebowski!). An arcade area and great inside and outside spaces rounds it out. This place is going to be super popular come summer!

  • Paul Mangan

Second time here and can't wait to come back. It's a special place, that's clear the minute you walk in. Channeling all the good Big Lebowski bowling vibes, but just as good for a session. I had the Parma tonight and it was perfect. It's on the bone, perfectly cooked, not too much. Just the right balance of everything. Keep up the awesome work guys!

  • Josh Ceddia

They don't take reservations as its too complicated for them. Showed up on the evening, no tables. Couldn't book bowling on the night for the night as they can't take reservations. Waited outside, asked the staff if he could let me know if he sees table become available. 'You want me to do it' was his reply. Just don't bother with this place.

  • CR Lang

Great venue, great vibe! Food is amazing, decently priced and good serves. They have walk in bowling lanes available, but best to book in advance to not be disappointed. A great place to have some drinks with some friends as they have lots of seating indoor and outdoor. We went on a Friday night and there was a DJ playing some good tunes!

  • Nicholas Foster

Booked a lane to ensure no wait time, ended up waiting for 15 mins and then our 1 hour session was cut short by 15 minutes due to the unplanned wait. Staff did not provide any recompense or even an apology, very hesitant to go back and a disappointing experience given that I was really looking forward to having a local bowling place.

  • Ryan McCallum

This place is like walking back in time for all the right reasons. Expertly detailed design fit out with a level of class, plenty of bowling lanes to throw a few balls down, drinks selection is spot on with their own signature beers and white Russians on tap. Food was very tasty also. A must go for anyone from or visiting Melbourne.

  • Sarah Mulhearn

As a Preston local great to have such a fun venue nearby! Venue is decked out nicely however not kid friendly unfortunately no high chairs and a super slow lift to get upstairs. Would attend for an adult outing but not so much as a family. Limited food options only 5-6 snack items until 3pm…. Friendly staff and overall a cool place.

  • warren mills

Had a kids birthday party today at the keys. Even though we had the first one there we had good service from April who booked it for us and was also there today. She went above and beyond for us and any tiny niggles were smoothed out by her. My daughter was happy and I'm grateful to April and the keys for making that happen.

  • Martine Kurlender

Amazing venue but do not book kids party here! Not nearly enough food for kids and terrible service. I had to continually go up and ask for the food, get drinks myself which was apparently in the package, ask for plates etc for cake. No response from management despite numerous attempts to reach out with feedback directly.

  • Corey Thomas

This place has brought life to Preston! Where else can you bowl, drink, eat, play pool, arcade games or sit in the sun with friends drinking on a sunny summer day. Staff are A+ and the chefs go above and beyond, even as a coeliac who struggles to find places who understand my dietary requirements. Keep up the good work!

  • Ollie

This was the best bowling place I have ever been to. It had such a great location and scenery as it was one of the coolest building I have ever seen. All the staff were super welcoming and nice and all the food was super umm and came very fast. I highly recommend that you come here with your mates and or family.

  • illgtr

This is a "full" drink if you ask for no ice / minimal ice $16. Wow 3/4 full great....... Picture of the bar tender who refused to serve full drinks to multiple clientele the whole night. Pretty disappointed as we had 8 here people here from 5pm having drinks and dinner, much better service from down stairs bar

  • Chantell C

What a great vibe!! First time visiting from Sydney. Awesome crowd, great food, love the interior and space! Staff were great and friendly! Tom the bar tender makes the best Palomas and excellent customer service. The bowling lanes are epic, if you have the chance to check it out. Would recommend 10/10!!

  • T P

Great venue with plenty of space to sit and talk and eat, indoor and outdoor. Food was all a bit greasy. Not much if you didn't want to eat fried or crumbed. Hire was on the expensive side, compared to other bowling alleys. Was more like a night out where you could bowl, rather than the other way round.

  • Craig “Boxy” Boxic

Can't seem to get enough of this place, it's now our weekly thing. The food is great the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is fun with a little bit of chill. Couple of fire place to chill out while having a few drinks or a feed. It's got a couple of pool tables and arcades (No pinball machines)

  • Charlotte Alldis

My favourite place. So beautiful and fun - so much time and effort into making the venue beautiful and exciting. A really good experience here and I’ve been 3 times already since it opened. The whole venue and the bathrooms are accessibility friendly which is great to see. Food is chefs kiss

  • Claudine Marie

I love that there's a really nice bowling alley so close to home. The bowling lanes themselves are flawless & we had a lot of fun. Unfortunately the rest of the place is insanely crowded - most people wouldn't mind this, but if you want a quiet night with friends this isn't the place.

  • Adam Marshall

Amazing. Food was unbelievable - friendly staff, kids loved the bowling and arcades - I didn't get through the 48 beers on tap this time - but the Keys Draught was spot on and the Guinness was the best I've had since in Dublin. Great place - I'll be back. In fact I might go back now.

  • Finn Bernard

My waitress, Allisandra, provided me with incredible and persistent service throughout the night to a high standard. I'm incredibly impressed with both her work ethic and the atmosphere of the environment that the bowling alley provides to the community. Keep up the excellent work!

  • Desi D

I am absolutely coming back here again! The place is amazing- the retro decor is on point! They have arcade games, you can eat and drink here as well and there a photo booth etc. I was so impressed by the vegan white Russians on tap!?!!! And of course the bowling was fun!

  • Thomas L

What should I start with? Chips have to be one of the best I’ve ever had. Same owners as takeaway pizza, so you already know the pizza here is bomb af. The chicken schnitty was amazing. Beers. Beers. Beers. So many different kinds of beers on tap. Will definitely be back.

  • Christian Williams

The bouncer wouldn't let us in to have dinner because he could 'smell the alcohol on us' (we'd only had 1 beer) It was really disappointing as we'd been really looking forward to checking the place out and had heard good things. But this experience was a bit humiliating.

  • Lorrelle Weber

Good venue to meet friends and have some fun bowling. Food options are limited and the beer menu is disappointing given the number of taps they have. If you live in the area, you've had most of the local breweries on tap. Should have some rotating taps each week.

  • Matthew Tymms

My family have been really excited waiting for the keys to open. Worth the wait. Amazing fit out. Everyone enjoyed the night. Had a game of bowling and enjoyed a meal afterwards. Looking forward to going next time and hoping to get a strike next time. …

  • Daniel Giannini

Interesting place - lots of potential. Owners & front staff don’t seem to be able to grasp the concept of a booking system. Would love to come in and pay for a period of time at a lane, rather than having someone book over the top of me after my first game.

  • Adam

Great venue, really nice atmosphere. A place to have some drinks on a nice afternoon, the beer garden looks grat and plenty of room. Food was really nice and the bowling lanes look good as well. Will be going back for somemore drinks and a nice afternoon.

So good! Travelled from Yarra Ranges and exceeded our expectations. The bowling and arcade was so much fun, and the beer garden was perfect for a lazy lunch with the kids. Loved the design and aesthetic too. Two enthusiastic thumbs up- lucky locals!!

  • Alanna Ross

Arrived 2 minutes late, never got an email confirmation to arrive earlier as had rebooked (assumed a small grace period). Sat down and got a drink, was told we had less than half an hour to play a game of bowling. Felt very rushed. Burger was burnt.

  • Rachel Camera

Bowling was fun but venue has a LOT of stairs and no ramps for wheelchairs/prams. We had to get assistance carrying our prams up the stairs. Food was okay, small and quite overpriced for what you get. Bar didn't haven't many drinks we wanted

  • Shine Sayyed

Had an Amazing experience with the food. The pink mojito along with chicken snitchzel and deep fried mushroom were delicious. You also have bowling center inside The keys, its a good hangout place for adults. There inhouse beer is something

  • A R

Great place to catch up with a group of friends. Food is very tasty the only downfall is that the bowling alley is always booked out so far in advance that unless you pre book you cannot take advantage of it without having to wait hours

  • Jack Stammers

Hats off to all involved. This is an incredible venue with lovely staff. Whilst we couldn't book a lane (as it was completely full), it was great to take in the atmosphere and enjoy the great cocktails and food. We'll be back for sure.

  • fergus dunipace

Love this venue, every experience was amazing, except for the waitress who was nasty, refused to speak more than a whisper, and treated us like lepers- she was vile and awful, get rid of the nasty waitress & you’ll get a 10/10 review!

  • Peter Johnson

This is the lowest place I've ever been to what a waste of money everything over priced and food was of poor quality I also ordered a drink which toke about 20 minutes to come out I think staff had to read a book to try make it …

  • Corey P

What an amazing place! Very impressed with the fit out and decor. Great vibe and bar will def be back! Only thing I would say is the Parma and schnitzel had a wing. Not your regular style breast. Would order something else next time.

  • Noni May

Booked two lanes for a group of 12 and had so much fun!! Food was yum, wine list is excellent, delicious piña colada slushies AND White Russians on tap!! Also the staff were all just the loveliest people, so NICE!! LOVE THIS PLACE!!

  • PENELOPE BEN KHALIFA

My experience at The Keys was amazing. The place is so lively , the staff were so lovely and the bowling experience bought back great memories of my youth . I definitely recommend it as a great place for a wonderful night out .

  • John Yovanches

Rude bar tender unless your friends with him, served others before me..the trivia lady was rude, threatened to call the manager against a 7 and 9yr old for yelling the answers out, food just ok, overall an average evening...

  • Jessica Kujawski

Such a good time at The Keys! It’s everything we hoped it would be; 100% worth the wait. For out is staff are friendly, food is tasty and plenty of choice for drinks. Good tunes too. Can’t wait for summer! …

  • FCP AU (Flying Car Parts)

Haven't bowled yet (soon) but I can vouch that everything else being top notch here. Great outdoor area, good selection of drinks. Heard accounts from friends that the food is good also. Great new addition to the north.

  • Steven Tocci

Nice pizza. But the bowling is very disappointing. Only one person in our group got to bowl their final frame. I got a gutter ball and then somehow missed my next go. So yeah, go for drinks and food, skip the bowling.

  • Ben Keane

A day at THE KEYS for a family catch up, awesome venue with amazing staff. Chilled vibe with amazing furnishings. The place has been put together with disabled people in mind. First visit and definitely not our last.

  • Lisa Mill

This place is totally amazing!!! The staff are super welcoming and the food is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the "real" chicken parma. Loads of fun for everyone sitting in the beer garden with good vibes!!!

  • Nelle R29

Fantastic decor, I love all the greenery, and the wooden bowling alleys are amazing. So nice to have somewhere to go in Preston. Great Pizza and steak also. We had a great family night out, can’t wait to come again.

  • Handre Louw

This is a trip back in time. The music, the decor and the experience takes you back to the 80’s. We loved everything about, from the great selection of beers, the bowling, arcade, and finally the old photo booth!

  • Andrea Kelly

We had the best time here. Great vibes, good food and a yum frozen pina colada were a great start followed by bowling, basketball arcade games and Photo Booth. The fit out is awesome. We will be back very soon!

  • Mark Poopies

A boutique bowling alley made from recycled bowling alley materials. Two bars with an excellent range of beers and cocktails. Awesome beer garden and delightful food and snacks to fuel your bowling escapades.

  • N S (Out&about)

Went here with three people last night, a nice cosy little place with a harmonised atmosphere. We had some drinks and a game of bowling , was good fun we will definitely return and order some food next visit

  • Noah Silas

Bowling here was reasonably cheap and had a great northern suburbs feel too it. Drinks were a Little expensive and unfortunately the QR code at the table wasn’t working. But overall absolutely worth a visit

  • Ruby Jhones

Rude and staff made it a terrible experience. Don’t give these guys money. Also check what you’re paying because they could overcharge you and refuse to refund. Go to Ballers ClubHouse or Achie Brothers.

  • Danny Stevens

They shut our lane down seven minutes before we were supposed to finish, and this despite us having only 3 more bowls to complete our game. Really disappointing. Won’t be going back to this venue again.

  • Julieta Viola Cañás

Amazing place for having a good time. Big amount of beer options and other drinks in general. The vibe and style of the place is a little bit vintage wich i loved… and the staff was super friendly!

  • courtney muller

Great atmosphere and good venue. Love that it’s just walk in and grab a table. Easy access for us being up the road and a tram stop out the front. But appalling service from kitchen/wait staff.

  • Gabriella Carling

Such a fun place! Bowling is a bit expensive and so is the drinks but food is reasonably priced and the atmosphere is fun! The outdoor dining area is so good on a warm sunny day

  • Avon Kleinman

An excellent venue to wine and dine, even if you're not bowling. The vegan food was delicious -- mushroom calamari and plant-based pizza ... yum. Nice Martini Expressos too! ✌️

  • Jessica D'Angelo

Had a great night at the keys! Super friendly staff, and delicious food. What a fantastic venue, Preston is so lucky to have you. Can’t wait to visit again, well done Team!

  • Moni K

We had lots of fun spending our weekend there with our friends. Staff are super polite and friendly. Great place to have indoor activity during the rainy or cold days.

  • Leigh Beardsley

Bowling is fun, old style amber lighting feels like you are in a 50s movie set. Nice beer garden out the front, great for families. The popcorn chicken was delicious.

  • Eddie Stephens

Had such a great time! Drinks, food, bowling, games, everything was really well priced! Amazing selection of beer and the cocktails were on point. Will be back!

  • Donny Tales

Good fun and even though it may take a long time to get a lane you can book online if you plan ahead unlike myself. Pool tables are good and beers too.

  • R Smith

Always good food - pub style but high quality and matching price. Love their house beer and the fun atmosphere. Would love to have a fireside table.

  • Fiona

I love everything about this venue. The food, the music, the bowling alley, the bar, the fabulous staff, everythinggggggg. Had such a blast
