OMG. Sloooooooow. Unresponsive. Unable to deliver. We were the 2nd client to arrive to their office that morning and the last to leave. After they "processed" us, we continued to waited for nearly an hour with no car in sight and no feedback from the desk staff who were trying to not look at us or speak to us even though we were the only people still left without a vehicle in their office. It was like a scene from Fawlty towers. Clients who came after us were leaving with their vehicle, while the staff, clearly aware there was some sort of problem kept averting their gaze to pretend we weren't there. Finally we had to confront them. They were completely unfazed that we had missed meetings. They said the delay was because the vehicle was still coming from a depot. They had not seen fit to mention it before or when they took our money. Atrocious service. If you have plans for the day or are on business, forget it. You'd have driven faster from Jhb to Dbn , than picking up a car prebooked online car from this lot of inefficient, negligent fools. Don't waste your time here. Never again. Use an established brand like hertz or avis , or one of the others. What a waste of our friday morning and at the expense of missed meetings. If we had been told there would be a long delay due the car not being available, we could have taken a refund and gone to another provider. But this was kept from us and they still absurdly expected the elephant in the room to disappear.

I was also upgraded without asking to a bmw 3 series at no cost by Shakir, he really made my day and I will only use this company as they are really impressive, this employee Shakir is management material and he should be promoted!! I was really not expecting such great service as this company is so much more affordable on their rates but in the end they exceeded my expectations, oh…they even dropped me off at the terminal entrance as I told the employee whom receives the car back upon returning at the end of the rental that I was running late for my flight and he immediately offered to drive me in the car to the entrance to help me make my flight wow wow wow! Thanks to the Shakir & the Woodford team at king Shaka airport, u guys plz keep raising the bar!

I received a WhatsApp message requesting this feedback. So here it is: The rental DIDN'T GO at all. My PA had booked me a Mercedes C-class because I was travelling with an important business associate. It had not been mentioned prior to her or myself that your company does not accept Capitec credit card. This was the only card I had on me, as my other credit card was still with the courier. Despite explaining that we were on a very tight schedule, for an event at which I was the guest speaker, your branch told me there was nothing that could be done to help me leave with the vehicle I had booked, days prior. So I went across to Hertz and despite having technical issues they worked quickly around it all, to ensure I was safely on my way with my business associates in the vehicle we had originally planned for our trip. So for this last experience 1/5 for Woodford, 5/5 for Hertz. TRUE STORY Regards Chile

Staff was very friendly and helpful. When I received the car, the paperwork said the km's are on 10630 but in actual fact the km's were on 10634. Four km's are not much, but in my case it would've made a difference because I only had 100km free for my trip. I travelled 89km with the car but had to put in nearly 10L of petrol before returning the car. The petrol consumption of a Toyota Agya is 4.8L per 100km, which tells me that the car was not "full" as they said and then I had fill up the car completely. With the petrol price as it is at the moment, this was quite an irritation. It's the small things that makes a big difference in the end. And it's these small things that made me feel that the company is trying to make an extra buck out of me without me noticing. Will I make use of you again? I'm not sure

The customer care person Kayla after 5 days could not resolve a double debit to my card which was done at the Umhlanga branch due to staff negligence and she seems to reply with standard paraphrased responses that do not resolve one’s problem. The lack of training on proper communication and understanding on how to manage financial queries could be an issue as regards the staff quality and their lack of experience which does not auger well as it really spoils the good brand and reputation of the company, whom I have been using for many years. It is the counter staff at the Springfield branch that were courteous and knowledgeable but unfortunately could not get any further with Kayla because she had closed off to provide further assistance as I still wait for my funds to be updated to my credit card.

I would prefer not to write this, but Woodford asked for this and it will also not be fair to Sebastian, whose service and help were outstanding. He deserves the recognition. After we left Sebastian's desk, we waited unreasonably long for the car to be "washed" before we were able to take it, while we expected to receive it by the time it was scheduled. If we had brought the car back an hour late (approximately the time we had to wait after the scheduled time) we would have probably been charged or fined. Apart from the exemplary service we received from Sebastian at the booking desk, his extra efforts were overshadowed by the disappointing delay, which caused us to arrive at our destination at an inconvenient time. (Date of incident: 1 September 2023)

Second time using Woodford King Shaka, And once again, I am extremely happy. When the guy called me to do a reservation, I agreed but explained I DO NOT WANT A TOYOTA AGYA ( personal reasons),however, when I got there, The only car that was available was the Agya , I explained to the gentlemen at the desk (Ashen or something like that) and he was very helpful, he and some other gentleman upgraded me to a STARLETT within 5 minutes, I was on the road. Dropping off the car was very easy and pleasant. Just a side note, I received a cheaper offer from another agency due to my ABSA rewards programme, however, i still paid a little bit more and chose Woodford due to their customer service, and I am so glad I did. will be using them again in the near future.

Best vehicle rental experience I've had. Woodford's service is very good and they're quite proactive. I was having trouble paying for my booking on their website and abandoned the booking, a short while after which one of their agents phoned me and reserved the booking for me anyway and said that I may simply pay upon collection. Collection of the vehicle took a while to process as I was a new customer and didn't have a credit card to pay the deposit with (it is mandatory), though once that was settled, it was a breeze receiving the car. Their rates and deposits are quite competitive when compared to other vehicle rental agencies and while their range of vehicles aren't as varied or numerous, the cars they do have are very good and high quality.

Poor service. Be careful when hiring and note the below: 1. Do not sign the digital inspection sheet at the office which they then print out for you to hand to the staff at the collection bay for “inspection”. By signing this Woodford puts you in a position to accept liability for damages when you haven’t inspected the vehicle. Also, even if you inspect the vehicle and point out damages, the printed out version is not regarded as valid. Rather request a blank unsigned version to inspect the car. 2. Take a video of the entire inspection and make mention of the damages. After doing so return to the main office and ensure they record this on their system as this seems to be a grey area that the company follows to ensure they evade accountability.

I had a poor experience at the King Shaka Airport Branch. My brother is an executive member of National car hire, which Woodford represents here in SA. The sales rep did not know about this and was not trained properly, she was very patient and tried to help us as much as possible. The regional manager on the other hand was a pain to deal with and made it an issue to get anything done. He purposely did not want to upgrade an executive member of national. On top of this, it is now two weeks later and the authorization on my card has still not been refunded. They are just holding money on my credit card for no reason. The return process was good although I’m still waiting for my authorisation to be returned.

Don’t fall for this trap. I booked a Toyota scarlet for R9k. When I got there Adrian Ray Naidoo told me that the car was not available he will upgrade me for free. He ended up charging me more than 7k which was 17k more charge. He kept on insisting that he didn’t charge more. He then realized the mistake he did, he then called the supervisor and he told me that by Thursday I will get my money. Come Thursday I happened to be at the airport and I decided to go check. Same guy was there. The supervisor was different he said well I’ll get my money when I return the car• Like what? Are you serious? I already left 4K deposit. The other manager said oh well you can but return the car. I’m shocked

I've recently hired with woodford and I am beyond satisfied with the service that I've received with Sebastian Moodley. He displayed such professionalism and true ethics from the moment I walked in. I've had some bad experiences before with woodford but he has changed my mind and set the bat quite high. He helped me with my booking, throughly checked all details before asking me to sign, explained each detail and carried my luggage all the way to the car. He further went on to check the car by himself and was ethical enough to check the fuel which he sorted out to ensure that I leave with a full tank. Thanks to the service that he provided, I will definitely be using woodford again.

Best price I could find anywhere, booked before hand and they kept me updated the whole way up till the morning of the booking. Their office was easy to find and they had my car ready (got a bit of an upgrade) when I got there. Petrol station just outside of the drop-off point for car rentals helped a lot so I could refill before I gave it back. Staff were friendly and efficient, took less than 5 min to complete the pick-up, drop-off was before they opened so I literally parked the car and dropped the key in their return bin. Deposit was repaid within 3 days. Honestly the only car rental service I am planning to use going forward.

Someone in the Woodford branch King Shaka; opened a second contract on my name whilst renting a vehicle. 2days into my holiday a second deposit was debited off my account. It is 2 weeks later and I still haven’t received any deposit back neither has the issue been resolved. I do believe it was fraud and as a customer I have to sacrifice the consequences of it. I don’t understand why I have to wait 2 weeks for a deposit to be paid back when all was good on return of the vehicle. This is unacceptable and I’m very disappointed in Woodford as I always received good service in the past.

Upon landing at King Shaka Airport, we went over to Woodford Car Hire to pick up the car we had hired for the weekend. The staff were friendly and helpful. A lovely air-conditioned office which is a bonus in the Durban area!! The car was thoroughly inspected by the worker and by ourselves for a general checklist on the condition of the car before driving off. The car was checked, documented and off we went. The car was clean, neat and tidy. Upon returning the car, it was rechecked and we were off!! An overall stress-free experience and I had no issues with this car hire.

Woodford made us wait an additional 30 minutes to receive the car as the car was not ready. When we returned the car with a full tank ahead of schedule at 5:25pm which the attendants confirmed was fine, they instead logged that we had returned the car at 6:07pm and added an extra day on the invoice. We went to the offices to demand clarification and an email was sent to rectify the issue, yet we were still charged the extra day deduction from the deposit. This is inspite of having the entire situation recorded on video. We are still awaiting a resolution or refund.

Disgusting service A Call back was promised but never fulfilled. I had to drive to one of their locations to get further information on returning the vehicle early. My deposit refund has not been received despite a promise on their agreement that it will be done within 72 hours, it is now 96 hours and Still waiting despite returning the vehicle early, in perfect condition and a full tank of gas! Then I get told how they will drop it from the invoice so I must not worry about being charged. Really, do you think that that is the concern for my child. RA Number - KS-66650 - Excellent service from the staff at Woodford Car Rentals at Kingshaka Airport. I got there to pick up the car, only to find that it was an automatic, but in no time they changed the car to a manual. The car was very neat and clean. Hassle free rental experience from the guys at Woodford Car Hire King Shaka. They upgraded me to a bigger vehicle at no extra cost, and it was practically a brand new car, only about 750km on it. I've used other car rental companies before, and thought I'd give Woodford a try, definitely my best experience with a car rental company by far. Their staff was super helpful and handled everything professionally. Would definitely hire from them again.

The front office staff is very professional and I appreciate their professionalism. The guys at the kiosk, who checks the cars and receives the cars need to be trained and understand customer care. There is something about them that taints the brand or that makes the experience a bit sour. They ignore you and they are impatient and just not nice. Atleast I was attended by 3 of them and they all were not up to scratch. That's my honest review.

Pleasantly surprised how good was the hire. Service desk was impeccable. Price for Lexus were highly competitive. Clearing my deposit seconds after returning the car with full tank was new to me. All other car hires you wait days and even if the car is full, there will still be petrol charge. Hope they do no change as they were never my first service provider and if this is their service and costs, they will be my number 1 service provider.

Absolutely pleasant encounter with Woodford car rental. They were the cheapest by far. Other car rental companies had the same class car for almost double the price. The Agent at King Shaka Airport Sebastian was extremely helpful and ifficient. The best part of all my full deposit was in my account within 5 hours of returning vehicle. When we arrived at Woodford car hire to pick up the car that was booked well in advance, despite receiving a what's app message in the morning before we left to say the vehicle was ready for us to collect, it was actually not ready, we had to wait 35 minutes, as it was still in the wash bay. In all my years of renting vehicles, I have never experienced this before. Totally unacceptable.

Very happy with the rental and most reasonable hustle free. If they had remembered to put the renewed license disc would have given a 5star...not sure how I did not check it too before leaving airport. I got a ticket but they sorted it out quick but delivering it to us. Highly recommend the Mercedes Vito 8 passenger as had great mileage for fuel.

Horrible experience. Woodford charged for fuel even though the car was filled at the airport on return. I shared the receipt with them. Useless Whatsapp customer care. They asked me to repeat the complaint by email. No point in having a Whatsapp if they can not help. Offer to help, contact CEO etc but all false. No help. No contact. No CEO.

All good but the car you orovided was extremely heavy on fuel. I requested a Picanto and you gave me a Toyota aygo. 150 km I had to fill R354 petrol. Ridiculous

Best rates on cars and they always keep you updated during the entire process via whatsapp . Can do with a bit more variety of car brands to their collection .
