It seems I had prematurely rated this company as the 1 star I have given them is not low enough. On the 12/6/2023 I picked up my vehicle and upon doing so the lady behind the counter had taken two payments from my account, 1 for the actual rental and 1(which was meant to be a holding deposit) little did I know that she had taken an actual payment from my account and NOT a holding deposit. On 14/6/2023 I EXTENDED my rental foe another day at the branch where I paid a further R752,27. On 15/6/2023 I returned the rental vehicle to the branch in the same condition it was given to me with not a scratch on it, furthermore I had filled the tank as due diligence as it was given to me. On the same day of my return I was told that the "holding deposit" will be refunded to me by Monday 19/6/2023, no such refund was made so I called in and spoke to a man who advised he would follow up and revert to me(I am still waiting for such), on Tuesday 20/6/2023 I called in AGAIN and spoke to Norma who advised she would follow up and revert to me before day end, it is now Wednesday 21/6/2023 and I am still waiting for Norma to revert with regards to me R4000 deposit that is rightfully due back to me. It has been almost a week and I am still waiting for my money. I will NEVER be patronizing this establishment again and would definitely advise anyone against such as their staff are irresponsible and untrained.

As a frequent car rental client, I decided to move away from the multinational car rental businesses and decided to give Woodford a try. The first couple of occasions proved seamless and I was happy, even received an upgrade on occasion! However, the last couple of times were large disappointing, in me being billed (clearly erroneously!) for going through all the country's e Toll gantries in the space of a couple of days without me exceeding my daily mileage limit! To get them the reverse those charges proved painful. Then, on one of the last occasions, I did not receive my deposited as a refund, and again, I had to go through some pain to recover my own money, to the point where I reverted back to the international car companies the last time I rented a vehicle. Until I came across Shaylene Hill from the customer care department. I was most impressed. She stuck with my issues until the toll fees were reversed and my deposit refunded. She restored my faith in Woodford Car Rental and later today I am collecting a rental car from Woodford at the ORT Branch. Here's to hoping they give me an upgrade for the trauma they caused! To the Management of Woodford Car Rental... value this employee, Shaylene Hill, she literally brought me back as a client against my will.

Where do I begin? I was overcharged 1,000R, transferred over 7 times when I called about whether everything was all settled when I turned in my car after hours (I got an email the next day talking about a checkout process), no one has responded to any of my emails about this and the overcharge, I was not allowed to modify my reservation when I realized I only had a 300km cap included in my reservation and I had wanted unlimited. Just fyi they will charge you 5R per 1km after you have reached your cap (never in all the countries I have traveled to has this been a thing), and trying to get ahold of someone to respond in a timely manner is next to impossible. I will not rent from them again.

It is indeed a pleasure to deal with Woodford Car Hire. My Family and I have been hiring vehicles from Woodford for the last 15 years and each time the experience gets better. This week I was pleasantly surprised at the Springfield Branch in Durban with a Complimentary upgrade! The Staff are always courteous and even go the extra mile, in fact when my vehicle was brought to me, the Gentleman told me that he was not comfortable as he heard a strange noise emanating from the brakes. He apologized to me and immediately asked the Agents to give me another vehicle. Kudos to the Woodford Team!!!

Wow wow wow what and amazing branch. ALL the staff are amazing and friendly. Javed and Aziz made sure we were well taken care of as we arrived very early to collect the car. We were made to feel very welcome while waiting inside, free coffee, bottle water and friendly smiles all round. Javed assisted us with the admin and contract. Aziz did the inspection out and gave us the full run down of the vehicle. Drop off was handled in the same friendly manner. Woodford has become my new favourite car hire place to go to. This was the most reasonable and affordable car hire that I had found. Booking a vehicle was so quick and easy. When I got to the office, they had upgraded the vehicle that was originally chosen. My family and I were very impressed. Thank you all at Woodford for an amazing service and warm, friendly staff. Shockingly, I have not received the deposit amount of R5000. I have followed every channel within Woodford to get my money back since 15 September 2023 without success. I have been emailing back and fro to to he lady called Kyla. She at some point told me it is approved to pay my money and I should give her my credit card details so she can get payment processed. But eventually she changes the story. Now I am not sure if Woodford and it's employees are covering something in this case. Very very disappointed ☹️

Excellent customer service from Junaid. There was an incorrect amount debited on my credit card and the matter was resolved in 30min of me making the query. Honest mistakes happen, and its always appreciated when a company owns that and rectifies it speedily and professionally. From pickup to drop-off I received only the best service from Woodford

We got a great car and good experience but got overcharged ZAR4025 and Woodford refused to acknowledge having received the sum despite all the evidence I produced. After speaking to some friends I heard of 2 other people that were scammed the same way. Really hope that Woodford owns up to this mistake and eventually refunds.

There was a misunderstanding with the booking as I booked telephonically and received an email confirmation. When I went to the Springfield branch, the vehicle wasn't in stock and they happily upgraded me to a bigger vehicle at no extra cost. I will use Woodford Car Hire again

The car rental went smoothly but after two weeks, Woodford had not released the funds blocked on the rental. I spoke to Junaid at Customer Care and immediately (within 5 minutes) a mail was sent to my bank and acknowledged by my bank. Efficient and highly recommended.

Very disappointed. I was given the car with damages and I have proof of that. I even gave to them yet they are still charging me for those damages that I know nothing of. At I was also given the car without functioning air conditioning.

Do not take tyre & glass cover, rather get repairs done yourself I took the cover & got a nail in the tyre, after calling the 24 hour number, they advised that it is fully covered & I do not have to get it sorted.
