"I have attempted to visit this store 4 times in a month"
"From the outside, it looks like the ordinary liquor merchant but damn, does Roger know how to stock his store! Looks can be deceiving but this place delivers on a grand scale! It is chock full from floor to ceiling, there are various liquors/hard spirits and wine to the main drawcard (for me and other beer nerds anyway) craft beer! With heaps of Australian and international brews, with styles ranging from lagers and IPA's to stouts and sours, the selection is absurdly mind-boggling, to be perfectly frank, if you can't find something you like, maybe you're too picky for your own good"
"Used to be 5 star lift your game, dated craft beer at top dollar"
"By and FAR the best beer range and staff I've ever seen! I searched all over NZ (including from the Brewery concerned), but APOD was the only place to have a very rare beer"
"An excellent bottle shop in the Mitcham strip"
I have attempted to visit this store 4 times in a month. The first 3 times fate got in the way and the doors were locked by the time I turned up. I had given up. But after visiting the nearby Coles I thought I'd give it one last chance, and oh god was the wait worth it. Now, I will say this isn't the biggest or best beer selection I have ever seen. However it IS the biggest and best beer selection I have seen this side of Fitzroy. You just like simple beers? Well someone has crafted one perfectly for you and these guys have it. Like a strong stout? Oh well here's one that could kill an elephant. Like a summery sour beer? Here are 20, one for every possible summer outing. Like spirits? Okay, it's a rather small range but it's not Dan's $40 vodkas. It's damn fine, well crafted spirits. This is a booze shop for people who actually enjoy booze instead of purely using it for the effect. You will find something you like.

Head in, have a chat, peruse the vast collection of beers both on shelves and in the fridges and enjoy a cold one! Life is too short to worry about bad beer! Cheers!
Used to be 5 star lift your game, dated craft beer at top dollar. Went to purchase some Valhalla IPA dated May 2019 so left it on the shelf for next unsuspecting customer. Got home checked my purchases and the Hope Brewery IPA pkg 06/03/2019 really... Anyway happy to buy these if they are in the bargain bin but to pay top dollar.. far from happy Jan. Think I'll investigate the direct from brewery models on offer now may not be cheaper but sure they will be fresh.
By and FAR the best beer range and staff I've ever seen! I searched all over NZ (including from the Brewery concerned), but APOD was the only place to have a very rare beer. Such a cute lil shop full to the rafters with brew from everywhere and everything! The staff knowledge is top notch! I asked for "something I'd never pick" , which is usually reserved for staff picks. Got an amazing smoked porter. Cheers guys.
An excellent bottle shop in the Mitcham strip. So many different kinds of beer, of all descriptions, that there's only just enough room to walk around. Great selection of craft beers from Australia and the rest of the world. Reasonable selection of spirits and wines as well, but beer is the star here. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Definitely going to be sampling quite a few beers going forwards.
My previous experience has been fantastic but today (29/12/22 @ 4.15pm) left me far from happy. I always buy 6 speciality beers that cost between $75-$105. On this occasion I asked for some plastic carry caps and the guy only provided one for 4 beers. When I asked for another he just simply said we don't have any more even though I could see a whole pile of them. Very disappointing. ☹️
Just discoveted this place today (27/9/16). So glad I did. It's like a TARDIS. It's bigger inside than it seems from outside. There is a great range of beers from local to overseas. I think the owner said 600 beers and 250 spirits. Owner was friendly and knew his stuff, gladly imparting his knowledge to make recommendations. Highly recommended.
Living in Mitcham became fantastic when Roger decided to take an old run down bottle shop and using some kind of TARDIS technology manage to cram in 100's of beers from all over the world! Beer tasting every Friday afternoon from some great brewery's and a constant opportunity to spend up big on cracking beers. Great place. Highly recommend!
Coming from Perth, thinking that we had some decent stores with selection, this place was is the place to go for craft beer aficionados. Small as it is don't rush and take your time looking around, a lot of stuff sitting in the fridge in the back and don't be shy to ask. They also run a delivery service for those that live farther away.
This is the sort of beer shop you travel overseas for. Packed with a great variety of beers and wines.. and good knowledgeable service. UPDATE: has changed hands and turned into something more pedestrian with a larger wine range and MUCH smaller beer range (and higher prices). Sadly, I wouldn't even travel inter-suburb for this now.
Crazy selection of beer that you will never get to the bottom of. Every conceivable type. Donut stout? Of course. Mango sour. Never in doubt. Huge selection of ciders, wines and whiskies. And plenty more to boot. With so many drinks available the only complaint you can have is that it is a squeeze to fit in between them all.
Huge selection backed by extremely knowledgeable staff. Beer is the speciality, so expect a vast range of craft, exotic and unusual beers. However they also have a fairly good range range of wine and spirits. Ask the staff for their recommendations and you won't go wrong.
Amazing little bottleshop in Mitcham. I was looking for a local place to buy craft beer and they did not disappoint. Huge selection of local and imported beers, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. I'll definitely be going back to slowly drink my way through the store.
If you are a massive beer fan as myself you will go lost in this little spot. This shop holds absolutely anything you like and there is no chance in this world you will step out without buying anything... The must visit place for huge craft beer fans without a doubt!
Called into "A Point of Difference" to purchase some Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz wines. Roger's recommendations were exactly what we were after and were well priced. All the friends we shared them with were very impressed with each and every one of them.
Amazing selection of beers, ciders, wines, whisky and more. Roger, the bloke who runs it is always good for a chat. The selection of craft beers is unrivalled. Can easily spend a lot of money in this store, but your tastebuds will thank you for it
Hidden gem of Mitcham! We stumbled across this amazing liquor store last night. Huge selection of every spirit and beer. Rare and limited edition spirits galore! Staff member was very knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely be back for more!
Roger is an absolute delight to talk to. He always makes certain my favourite drink is in stock. The service is amazing. The beer is great and reasonably priced. If you like something a little different, go see Roger. You won't be disappointed.
An amazing range of beers and always something new and special to try. They've got the classics if you want them but you can always find something better there. The range is so good and always growing it's hard to duck in for a quick shop.
I moved to Mitcham a few months ago and have been frequenting this place quite a lot. Roger has a great range of every good beer you can think of. When I asked for my favourite Beavertown beers, I was shocked to find out they had them in
Heaps of different craft beers. If your wanting to buy VB (Very Bad)! Forget about it! You won't find it. Definitely the place to buy all your craft beers! Head down there now ASAP! You won't be sorry! Starff very friendly and helpful!
Great little liquor shop! Has lots of different variation of drinks rare and common compared to your popular commercial kind of liquor stores. Also the guy working there was very helpful with helping me decide on a new drink! …
Was recommended by a mate who discovered it. Fantastic place for craft beer. Everything you could imagine. One of Melbourne's hidden gems. They also have tastings Fridays from 5 so it's great to sample some quality beer and wine.
Great range of craft beers plus some good wines & spirits. My favourite place to find new beers to try. Very helpful staff will also get in specific beers you may be wanting to purchase if they can.
I almost don't want to tell people about this place as they have all sorts of amazing and hard to find beers sitting incognito throughout their store, and I can't afford them until next month.
Great spot to pick up all your craft beer needs in the eastern suburbs. Foragers Drop upstairs is also a good haunt for crafties. Friendly staff and a great range that turns over frequently.
Without doubt the best range of craft beer that I have ever seen. The staff were friendly and helpful and they were also able to order in a beer for me that wasn't in stock yet as well.
Great place if you want some hard to find sours, and my husband loves coming here for the German options he can't find elsewhere. He's always happy to pick up some bottles of Vitus
Great range of beers but unfortunately terrible service means I won't be buying from ever again! I placed an online order in June 2018 and selected the option for $10.00
Merchant is knowledgeable in product and craft beer, good collection as well , always doing sales btw , recommend this place to some one serious about craft beer …
Awesome range of beers! Amazing service and great prices. Staff are super amazing, have alerted me when certain beers have come into stock. Awesome place!
When I first walked into this store it was like entering Aladdins cave of craft beers. Such a great range! Definitely going to be a regular stop.
Unique range but terrible customer service with an attitude problem. Bring your own bag and carton cause they won’t offer you any.
The guy behind the counter was so knowledgeable. I will definitely come back here for all my unique beer and alcohol needs
Can't believe I haven't rated APOD yet. You will not find a better boutique liquour store. The range is unbeatable,
Great range and friendly advice, very passionate about what they're doing.
Amazing variety of craft beers. Cannot go wrong
Great range, good way to try a single drink.
