I have to say I was very disappointed in this company especially after reading the reviews. I certainly expected much more than the service that I received. In fact, I’m not sure these reviews are even real customers after my roller coaster experience with this company on Saturday, June 27, 2020. First, I requested the movers at 10am. At 10:30am, I texted the point of contact who is the “CEO” of the company and asked about an ETA. I received no answer and after 15 minutes I decided to call. Afterall, my U-Haul was only scheduled for a specified amount of time. The “CEO” answered the phone and gave me an excuse about his phone alarm not going off and that now he was backed up for the day and currently on another job. He told me that they were going to get to me at 1:30pm. So, I agreed that this was ok, but communicated to him to notify me via text message to let me know when he was going to be on the way. People, the lack of communication and professionalism should have been a warning sign to cancel the services from this company immediately because it only goes downhill from here. Well, 1:30pm rolled around and I received no communication about the movers being on the way. Just so happened, my father and husband were headed back to the loading address and met the movers there about the time they arrived. After speaking with my family about the movers and the progress, they informed me that they were doing a majority of the work because they sent a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old to perform a job that was really and truly out of there league. In fact, the kids admitted that they virtually had NO experience moving which showed because my father and husband spent most of the time telling them how to place items in the U-Haul as well as carrying heavier items that they could not do. Once they got to the unloading address, I was able to see my father and my husband and they looked tired and overworked while the kids were not even sweating. So, what is the purpose in hiring a moving company when you do all the moving virtually yourself? Obviously if they lacked experience there should have been a more experienced person to oversee this process especially since you were 3 HOURS LATE moving. We waited around for this company and they sent movers who were virtually NO help. We could have gotten more accomplished if we would have just done it ourselves. But I digress. After that, the movers received a phone call from the “CEO” that they were running out time and to just get the “big” items off the truck and go. Well, that was my FINAL straw. I called the “CEO” of this company and voiced my complaints to all of which he could only give me excuse after excuse. Then he tried to offer me a discount that he would not even disclose to me, but still wanted the payment code for the job. Do you really think I could trust giving you payment and then wait on you to give my discount later? Ha! The trust was broken after this experience. Then, I got angry when he tried to insinuate that we should have hired more movers with more time. Listen, upon moving to Charlotte two years ago from Alabama, I had 2 movers who loaded my entire house there in 2 hours and when I got to Charlotte, I had 2 movers that unloaded my entire house in 2 hours. So, what I am saying is, it’s possible with COMPETENT movers. So, I cancelled my services after the horrendous experience that I had. We all have an off day but it is entirely UNACCEPTABLE to have to deal with this many errors. As a company you should consider surveying or asking more questions as to how much a person has to move to plan your day accordingly and have appropriate help. If you are going to manage a company then there obviously needs to be more professionalism and reliability. I say all this to say, please don’t work with this company. Off day or not, you don’t want to run the risk of another off-day and have an experience similar to mine. Hire another company that is more experienced, reliable, and professional than this company if you want an easier move.

In summary: DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I wish I could give this company an even worse than 1 star review. Apart of Charlotte was the absolute worst moving company I have ever used - they single handedly ruined our moving day and ended up costing us an additional $300+ in moving related expenses. They also broke multiple items of ours, ruined furniture pieces by dragging them down our driveway, they showed up to the job not prepared to work (hungover), and they were extremely unfriendly and unprofessional. I paid for a 4-man crew and as it turns out, only 2 of them were "qualified" to be moving heavy items. The worst part - Their team lead and secondary lead BOTH told us AT LEAST 3 times that we should cancel our second moving truck because they would be able to fit all of our items on just our first truck, so we did, and then not all of our items fit in our first truck. They hadn't loaded ANY of our furniture when we had 30 mins left on our contracted time with them, and we had to ask them 5+ times to make sure all of our furniture was at least down the flight of stairs and in our garage before they left. They were very, very clearly trying to avoid doing the difficult part of the move. Because of their lack of expertise and horrible direction regarding our second moving truck, we had to scramble to find another truck AND pay them overtime because we obviously ran over time dealing with this whole ordeal, which they single handedly caused. This company was absolutely atrocious and I will be contacting BBB and writing them a separate review. This company was a complete waste of our money, they broke items, furniture, and ended up costing us significantly more in moving expenses due to their unacceptable service. DO NOT BOOK THIS COMPANY!!!!

I had a HORRIBLE experience with another moving company that after a week of correspondence back and forth, randomly text and said it was raining and he didn’t work in the rain. Very last minute these guys showed up and WORKED. In the rain to a second story apartment! Marvin, AJ, Shon and Quan were the crew we got and they were amazing. Not only were they extremely proficient, they were kind, hardworking and honest. I would recommend these guys to ANYONE and plan to only use them here forward! I even invited them to dinner once our new home was settled. I’m so grateful for them and everything they did today!

Will not hire this company again. Problem #1: I was charged an extra hour without being notified. Problem #2 The day of my move they canceled because they didn't have another person to help with the move. This has got to be the most unprofessional and unpleasant experience I've had with any moving company. While, the hourly rate was affordable it is not worth the added stress of hiring an unreliable moving company that cancels at the last minute on your moving day. Please shop around and pay more if you can.

Marvin has been incredible! We have used him twice now; once for moving from house to house and the other for moving from an apartment to a house. I’m both situations his packing and loading knowledge and experience made moving feel hassle free. This experience extends beyond just the simple couch and bed set. They moved things like our antique organ and a baby grand piano as well! Friendly, personable, and hard working. Absolutely would recommend Marvin and Apart of a Charlotte to anyone moving in the area.

My experience with APART of Charlotte was magnificent. Timely service on a Saturday morning is a rarity, but APART made time for my hectic schedule. They made quick work of a heavy sleeper sofa I needed moved to a third floor apartment and did so at a very fair price. I would recommend Marvin and his crew to anyone at any time. They took great care to avoid any damage to my furniture or property, which is a breath of fresh air compared to the big Charlotte moving companies.

Absolutely the best customer service and experience. Chuck and his teammate went above and beyond filling my 26ft truck like a puzzle to get everything to fit. On time, courteous, and they made our day. Our movers failed to show leaving me and my pregnant fiancé with no help and they kept our deposit. Chuck and APART OF CHARLOTTE were a a bright light in the mess we are dealing with and saved us. Thank you so so much!

I needed a last min move outside of Charlotte and I was called very quickly. They were on time and had things moved out and into my new place with no damages and put things just where I wanted them. I would most definitely suggest them to friends and family as well as use their service again. I would give more than 5 stars if it was available but the best movers I ever used.

Rick and Dusty were exceptionally good, efficient, polite and respectful of our possessions, and our new home. We were very impressed by the way they moved everything in in one day, coordinating well with the arrival and return of the u-boxes. They even helped set up our dining table! And most importantly, they were punctual. I would give this duo 7 stars!

Effective and affordable moving company. They arrived on time and were ready to get the job done in a reasonable amount of time. They were accommodating with my concerns, and even helped me to get rid of items that I did not want to take with me. I appreciate them, reccomend them and will use them again in the future.

Very friendly and hardworking folks! They packed us up like it was their stuff they were moving. Well organized in the truck. Worked quickly. We had an issue getting the fridge out and they worked and worked and finally got it out of the house and on it’s way. Also, very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!!

Exceptional job by Marvin and his crew he was super accommodating and understood the assignment. He is a man of his word and even came back after all his other jobs to help finish up with some extra things. If you need a job done and done right hire Marvin you will not be disappointed

Last minute call and the office sent two experienced and respectful guys by the name of Wanye and Tim. They moved us within a hour and a half. Came to the front door and got straight to moving us. I think I have found a moving company that I will always use. Thanks guys be blessed.

These guys were great - there was a mix up with the date and we were a few minutes late but they were sure to be there without issue!! Worked really hard even though the apartment layout made moving things in really tough. Would recommend a million times over. Thank you so much!

These gentlemen did an excellent job with our move. The whole experience was pleasant! They met us in Greensboro, NC on time and packed up the truck with ease. Upon arrival kn Charlotte, the gentleman moved in the furniture without issue. Highly recommend, and will use again.

These guys are great! They arrived early and went to work immediately. I have never seen a truck loaded so beautifully, with no wasted space. When we unloaded on the other end there was zero damage. Their rates are exceptional and they were fun and a pleasure to work with.

Very courteous and professional. Helped on an out of state move last minute and did an awesome job. Went above and beyond in protecting belongings and making sure everything was where it needed to be. Will definitely call again.

The team was great! The communication was fantastic up front, they were able to get it done quick and easy, and able to get things in the rooms they needed to go in as we went! I will be using them in the future again!
