This store is AMAZING. I moved here recently and every one of my apartment asks and needs were fulfilled by the Adams Morgan ACE staff. They also always try to get you things at the lowest price, I went in to pot a basil plant so it looked nice for when I had guests and the ACE plant specialist gave me a whole talk about basil and how once it buds the flavor profile changes so there’s no real point on spending money on a nice pot. So I was like ok bet I’ll get a cheap pot, but I still wanted it potted so guests would be like “nice potted plant” and so we went to the cash register and it would be like $8 for the potting service and he was like... don’t waste your money bud get this 79 cent water dish to prolong the life of your basil, but it will die. And so I left having spent 79 cents but so much more knowledgeable about basil

I came here at the very last minute and right before they closed this Sunday. Because I needed to pickup some last minute items for a new home that we had purchased. The first thing that I needed was a duplicate key made for the house. Even though it was minutes before they closed, a cool employee was able to help me out and he made they key in under two minutes! Then I needed to get a small container of spackle to fix some of the small holes in the walls that the previous owners had left behind. This hardware store carries just about everything related to the house. They even have an indoor garden section. I'm glad that this store is here as it's one of the few hardware stores inside of the city.

For COVID they are only allowing a limited capacity inside. If the store is full they'll assign someone outside to let people in as people come out. Staff is focusing on helping customers get what they need and get out, so every time I've been in I'm approached almost immediately and led to the next item I'm looking for. I was able to quickly get what I needed every time I've been here since the stay at home. I'm not sure if masks are required but I've always worn one and it seems like everyone else was wearing them too. Though it you're looking for minimum exposure, the store is very close quarters and I was not able to strictly maintain 6 ft social distancing 100% though your mileage may vary.

Everyone at this Ace Hardware is incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable! I went in seeking a screw that would fit a warped sleeve in a new piece of furniture, and Chris went above and beyond to help me fix my problem. He asked me to bring in my furniture, offered me a dolly to wheel it in from my car, and used some tools free of charge at the store to help get the screw properly threaded so I could finish building my furniture. It was so kind of him to offer his assistance, I likely would have had to exchange the furniture if I didn’t have his help. I have come to this location a few times and I have always been incredibly impressed by the service. Huge thank you to Chris!

I was on a mission walking towards the Target when I discovered this jewel of a store. I was under the assumption that Target was the only store in this area that could meet my hardware needs. Thank goodness I decided to walk because I am so glad I found this quaint yet well equipped store. Not only was I able to find the picture hanging kit I needed, Tim helped me find two plants! Tim was so helpful and kind that even and "serial plant killer" like my self was able to find two plants that can withstand my negligent watering schedule. He took is time and explained all the options, gave me suggested of sustainable care, and even helped me re-pot one of my plants!

Everyone at this store is SO KIND! I had a problem with a towel rack, had to make multiple trips to the store and everyone that I talked to went above and beyond especially Eugene. Eugene showed me around, helped me understand the tools I would need, and overall was very kind and took his time making sure I would have the knowledge to fix the problem. He even let me return and exchange things when particular items wouldn't fit or be exactly what I needed to fix the problem. Thanks to Eugene, I was able to fix the problem, learn some new hardware skills and save myself a major headache. Eugene is the best employee I've ever met! Thanks again for everything!!

I take my dog here twice a week while I browse their new plant selections. The staff are all so nice and helpful. I love that they shower my dog with attention. My dog loves it too. She always tries to drag me in for treats. They have a great plant selection. They change things up but you can usually find a good array of basics and less common plants. They often have small hoyas, peperomias, aglaonemas, and other stuff I’m looking for. I always look forward to checking out the new stock on Wednesday and Friday. Thanks, Ace

These guys are always so helpful and so attentive, they really make shopping at the neighborhood hardware store a great experience! Even when I tell myself I’m not going to talk to anyone and just going to roam around the store looking for what I want, I can’t help but give in to their friendly smile and demeanor, lol. A top-notch place that nearly always has what I’m looking for, they pack a ton of merchandise into a relatively small space and are very good at what they do! Highly recommend.

This is my local hardware store and I love it. The plants are great quality, I bought a philodendron 5 months ago and it’s still healthy and beautiful. Everyone who works there is knowledgeable and helpful. I went in today to find the right screws for my plaster walls and a solution to bugs in my succulents, two different people helped me and knew exactly what I was taking about and what I needed. It was a great experience, I’m very lucky to have them close by.

this place is not open despite a 5-star review from someone. they have a website that says they're open and when you call to confirm that they're open, the message says that they're open and that if you want to speak to someone just press 3 and they'll be with you as soon as they can. This is not good business. Those of us in the neighborhood are really looking forward to this place opening, but it's worrisome that their online and phone information is wrong.

Most of the staff is great and kind! However, the cashier lady was very disrespectful to me. She asked me if I needed help, I said “yes, but he (the guy in front of me) goes first.” Then she raised her voice in front of other customers and said “I know that, I just need to know if you need help”. I must say that the rest of the staff was very helpful! Not really sure I want to return there.

Staff was super friendly! I was asked right when I walked in what they could help me with. The employee directed me to my request and helped me choose an item without making me feel like I didn’t know what I wanted. The plant selection was also wonderful, especially considering it’s winter. Will definitely be coming here for all future hardware and plant needs!

Super friendly staff, super positive, polite, and the team work vibe is all over the place. I love going to this shop just because the staff kindness and the whole vibe of the store is at top. They're very helpful and always ready to assist you. Totally recommend going there. Especially if you live around, it's the only hardware store in the area.

They need to have their it department update their web page.they advertised on the internet that they were open on Thanksgiving only to have me drive all the way across town to find their doors locked. You have to pay for parking only to find that the store is closed. I will stick to the Ace hardware in Northeast at the brookland metro station.

I've always had a good experience here and it's really nice to have a hardware store in the neighborhood. Good selection. Decent prices (and they regularly send coupons if you get an account). I see the reviews about them not being open when advertised, but I've shopped there more than a dozen times and have never had that problem.

Lawrence answered the phone and I just asked if they had something in stock, he had me take pictures of what I was doing and helped me make sure it was the exact right product for what I needed and was overall super helpful. This is the knowledge and interest and skillet that makes me come to Aces rather than Amazon or Home Depot,

Good luck getting a cashier....had $30 worth to purchase and at the register. Totally ignored, staff helping everyone but me....even the lady behind me in line. They don't want my $30? Fine, won't get my $30 in the future either. When I need a single nail.....never step inside this place again, I would rather drive into Virginia

Every time I go to this Ace Hardware EVERYONE on the staff is so incredibly helpful and nice! I came in to get help on a piece of furniture with a striped nail, and Chris at the store was THE BEST!! We tried to get this screw out on our own and weren't successful, and we wouldn't have been able to do it without Chris' help!

This place makes me realize why shopping online for hardware supplies is not the way to go. Employees are knowledgeable about issues and can steer you in the direction of the correct tool to do the job. Also I love the environmentally conscientious/sustainable items they sell in store as well as the recyclable bags.

Everyone here is incredibly nice and helpful! Someone very nicely greeted me as I walked in, and then Chris was super friendly and efficient in making some keys for me, and Lawrence was really friendly too! This is a super competent, customer service centered team, and they made my day with how nice they were!!

This is a decent hardware store, the staff are nice and helpful. I wish there were a wider selection of products though. My only other complaint is that the aisles are very narrow and hard to navigate without knocking stuff off the shelves. If you're claustrophobic this May not be the hardware store for you.

Extremely helpful and friendly. I would not consider myself handy, and they could not be more accommodating. When you walk in they immediately ask to help and will not only direct you to a product, but will work with you to find the exact solution to your problem. Best neighborhood hardware store around.

Top notch customer service. It has all the standard neighborhood hardware products as well as a great plant section. At every aisle turn, you’re approached by an employee asking if you need any assistance with anything. Extremely friendly and helpful staff in every experience I’ve had.

I called last week for a heater part and the woman that answered the phone was polite and pleasant. She tried to find it but couldn't so she sent me over to someone who found it. It was only a dollar more than home Depot. Worth every single penny the excellent service

We were looking to buy a sump pump, and the manager was extremely helpful. He looked at different pumps, made sure he had all the parts to the pump, even helped us decide if it was something we could do on our own or would need a plumber. Highly recommend this store.

Kat at the 18th Street ACE provided the best customer service imaginable, helping me replicate a very obscure missing part of a washing machine. She even flagged me down on the sidewalk when I managed to walk out without the thing I'd just bought. Thank you, Kat!

My daughter lives in an apartment nearby, so I have stopped by here several times. The staff has always been very helpful, taking me right to the things that I need. They have plants and all the hardware you need for downtown living.

The minute I walk through the door a friendly employee asks what I'm looking for and they never fail to find it! The only downside is that it is a little cramped for shopping in a global pandemic, so try to go during off times.

Small thinks like bolts, screws, gardening thinks, plumbing etc. store is smaller then Home Depot - They nicely feel gap of small helpful store there quick and easy you get stuff for home project also with advise.

The available items are not as fast as the TrueValue on 17th and R Street, but it is convenient and the staff are eager to help. The gentleman working the key-making station was particularly helpful.

A hardware store is defined by it's employees. This place just alright. The employees need to know a little bit more and there need to be a few more, but if you have patience it meet your needs.

Perfect store, good for last minute items , a bit pricey but if you are in a jam it's worth it. Good variety of items and most times also have items that the big chain store doesn't carry.
