I live in the USA and when I come home to SA I only have a limited time with my friends and family, my time is of the essence. My mom bought me a gift certificate for my birthday in September. It was for the Pregnancy wrap, as I would be 7 months pregnant and she thought it would be the prefect present as I would be also be recovering from jet lag. I phoned once I was in SA and booked an appointment for the next day, I even added on a massage so the treatment was to be 2 hours. Once I arrived the my appointment at 11:00 the next day, I was told that I could not have my treatment because they were doing construction. I had planned my whole day around this and had just Ubered from across town. I felt really taken advantage of and undervalued as a customer. I wasn’t offered any compensation for my transport to and from their spa, or for my time lost. I should have asked for my money back their and then and gone somewhere else, but I ended up booking an appointment on another day. Overall I was not impressed with the treatment, as a bright light was on in the room, making it not very relaxing at all. Africology is hugely over priced for their services and no customer service. You can get much better treatments down the road for half the price. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I went for a facial and was rather disappointed. The lady was friendly enough, but walking down the stairs behind her was an adventure because the steps are all different heights and some tiles don’t stick. Their standard of hygiene is below par. They have no tap in the dingy room; the lady applied and removed dozens of products, rinsing the sponge repeatedly in the same bowl of water she had brought along from outside. Some of the stuff was still stuck on my face, neck and hair when I got home. YUCK! In hindsight, the fact that she didn’t do any extracting or plucking of eyebrows was a blessing in disguise - I really doubt they know what they are doing. It was definitely not worth the steep price they charge.

Purchased 2 Neroli Diffusers on Father's day at R795 each. Gave both as gifts. Luckily the one friend didn't open hers immediately. The one who opened, noticed that the diffuser has absolutely no fragrance, unless one sniffs the actual bottle! Complained to Head Office and asked for a refund. They collected and I'm waiting for my refund. Needless to say, the whole communication process has taken more than 2 weeks to resolve, only getting replies as I chase them, and I still don't have my refund. Not only that, I get sent a R100 voucher to use "if I spend" R1000!! So disappointed!!!! Won't patronize the brand again. In this day and age, these brands must respect and protect the customer who's willing to spend.

We entered the Parkhurst store to purchase some Christmas gifts and on entering were barked at with no greeting to use sanitizer then stepped to the left of the shop to be barked at again saying dont go there its the treatment area. No greeting no please unacceptable .I will never go there again. I purchase my Africology online and was excited to actually go into the store and see different products to purchase. In today's times you would think customer service is key. I won't be supporting this store or recommend it again.

I was looking to make a purchase on the online store. I had a question about one of the products I was going to buy. “What % of the active ingredient is contained in the product”, you’d think that would be a simple question to answer for a skincare brand. I sent a message to the ‘available agents’ and it’s been over a week now, still no response. Message received, not parting with my hard earned money for no non existent service.

Booked for 90 minute massage. The massage was great, however the attitude of the lady at reception post massage was unprofessional and exceptionally rude. I left irritated and angry. Won't be back and will not be recommending this establishment. Would rather support a company that understands how to treat customers.

The client service of the lady who was at reception and did my manicure was very unpleasant. A spa is a place where one would expect to receive a treatment that will result in you relaxing, unfortunately at this branch of Africology I got the exact opposite. I was happy with the colors of my manicure however

After reading all the bad reviews about this spa, I was hesitant to go but I decided to go ahead since the reviews are from a few years ago. I'm very happy I went, because I had a great experience. The staff was very friendly and professional and my massage was out of this world! Would definitely recommend!

I always enjoy going into this store, often if I just need to have a break from my busy week, you will find me there. If I need my facial top up, my toes painted or just a sip of the delicious tea, Africology Parkhurst is where I go - Keep the great service up

I spend 2.5k on candles and some soap. There was too much for one bag so I asked for another and they told me they would charge me. The bag broke about 3 minutes after leaving the store. I wanted to go back and return everything!! Stupid custom service!!!

Oh if you want to spend an hour in paradise this is the place to go for a relaxing spa treatment, as you walk it you are assailed by the most wonderful aromas of the beautiful product's they make , and the treatments just take you too a different place ,

Went to have a manicure and pedicure... the therapist was very sweet and accommodating, however the treatment itself was of a poor and unprofessional standard. A very disappointed customer!
