I talked to a few companies to get estimates for an in-town move from a 3 bedroom house to a two bedroom apartment style condo. Alberta First Choice Movers had the lowest per hour rate and similar or slightly lower estimated number of hours, as the others. They estimated the number of boxes I would need and, at my request (because I had some boxes already), delivered only part of what I would ultimately need. When I contacted them by text message or phone call for more boxes or paper, it was delivered, usually the next day. On moving day: Estimated arrival: 9:00 - 9:30 am Actual arrival: 8:55 am The three workers worked steadily to load their truck, They were polite, competent and efficient. Estimated load completion: 3 hours Actual load completion: 2.5 hours Estimated and actual drive time: 15 minutes Estimated unload completion: 3.25 hours Actual unload completion: 3.00 hours There was no "dump and run", The crew made sure everything was where we wanted it, including moving two furniture pieces a couple of times when our first idea wasn't going to work. A supervisor check with us to ensure our expectations had been met. The "cherry on top" in this story is the actual cost was below the original estimate. I have no hesitation in recommending using Alberta First Choice Movers,

Alberta First Choice Moving was the only company that offered to do an in-person estimate. I explained I had Cancer and other illnesses which require me to spend 8-10 hours daily, receiving treatment, and yet, they were extremely accommodating! The packers, and movers worked around my schedule and theirs to find a time where they could pack and move my belongings. Once the time was settled, the crew got to work. There were a few small things not packed and minor issues needed addressing - but that’s ALL part of moving! The only issue I had was that I wished my boxes were ALL labeled. There were only about 1/3 marked. But, that is a minor issue, and Elana and Dustin were SUPER at tying up loose ends, and packed the few items that hadn’t been packed the previous evening. It made my move as STRESS FREE as it could possibly be! I haven’t unpacked everything, but the fragile items I’ve unpacked so far, were packed well. Both Eliana and Dustin did an amazing job at calming me down, whenever I became concerned or stressed over something. They are the best movers I have ever had in all the times I have needed movers. The team I worked with was so accommodating and helpful! I highly recommend this company and the crew I worked with!

We used Alberta First Choice Moving Systems to move from Edmonton to Vancouver Island. Moving is a very stressful time but I can say that Alberta First Choice did their best to alleviate it. First of all, Bob is very calm and reassuring but he doesn’t make any promises that he may not be able to keep. For instance, the scheduled date for the delivery of our household at our new home was August 9. It arrived on that date but Bob had warned us very early on that delays can and do occur. If anyone has travelled B.C. highways in peak tourist season, you know there can be mud-slides, accidents, floods and especially fires. So, we were given clear expectations and allowed ourselves extra time. Our possessions all arrived undamaged and the assistants that Bob hired both in Edmonton and Courtenay were quick, careful and efficient. But Bob is the guy who orchestrates the whole process. The price was reasonable compared to other companies. The actual price was only about $100 over the estimate. Also, I liked dealing with a local company. I would highly recommend them.

Crooks. Absolutely would not recommend for out of province move. I moved to NL from Edmonton 5 years ago. Bob committed verbally to having my stuff delivered within 2-3 weeks but actually delivered after 9 weeks. Would not give me anything in writing. Lost a couple of boxes of mine. Doesn't actually have professional movers on his staff. Just sent the truck driver and then hired two local guys off the street to move my stuff. One of which was an older man in his 60's, completely unfit health-wise to be moving heavy furniture. I had to step in and help. But the worst part was Bob calling me while his truck was in NB and said that he would not get on the ferry to NL unless he was paid in full. I was held at ransom with no options. He didn't compensate me for the rental furniture I had to get while waiting for my things. Absolutely the worst moving experience I've ever had. Never again.

RAVE!!! RAVE!!! RAVE!!! We booked a long distance move from Alberta to BC with this company, after receiving quotes and policies from three other companies. Luke came to our home and explained the fee options, (either by weight OR a flat rate fee, which none of the other companies offered). Our belongings were the only load on their 5 ton truck, so, no chance of things getting lost or mixed up with someone else’s belongings! Colten stopped by on move day to add another team member, and introduced himself to us as well, and it really helped to give us a sense of being in good hands! The team was incredibly efficient, careful with our home and belongings…and there were several challenging pieces! Communication was great before, during transit, and upon arrival! They arrived right on time both days! We highly recommend this great moving company!

Moving can be a very stressful process. Bob assured us that he would make our move as stress free as possible. The crew arrived on time and we were amazed how professional, careful and experienced they were.We were moving out of province so we had a different crew on the other end to offload. We've used this moving company on a number of occasions and we highly recommend them! You won't be disappointed! This move took 13 hours as we asked them to wrap all our furniture in blankets and they were happy to oblige. 13 hours might sound like a lot but we have big bulky, heavy furniture and we were moving from a 4th floor condo to a 3rd floor condo in a different building. They did the whole move in one day and worked just as hard and carefully on their 13th hour as they did on their first. We can't thank Ken & Ted enough for all their had work. And thank you Bob for taking care of our one little hiccup so promptly. Greatly appreciated and looking forwarded to doing business with you on our next upcoming move when we purchase our new home.

Alberta Furst Choice Moving provided a scheduled move. The movers provided for my move were very accommodating. This move was complex and required multiple stops. There were 2 movers, they showed up punctually. Connected at each location with the assigned "director" of household items to be picked up. The movers worked hard, were friendly, efficent, had a great sense of humor and were very patient! On arrival at final drop off they coordinated with myself the home owner, where items and furniture needed to be located. They also helped to disassemble and reassemble the bedframes. I am exceptionally greatful for the services provided and the amount of work these gentlemen put into getting all of our belonging to our new home.

We had a great experience with the Alberta First Choice Movers. The guys, Colton, Adam, and Jason and Luke in the Office, were all extremely helpful, courteous, and responsible for our move. The three guys who did the moving took great care of all our belongings, patiently wrapped all furniture, and diligently put every piece into the room where we wanted them to go. What an amazing company to work with. We had movers all booked to arrive Monday morning when on Sunday they said no we are not coming. I called many companies on Sunday trying to find anyone to help. Alberta First Choice stepped up and said they had the Tuesday morning available and could help us move. They did help us and the crew was amazing - the put the boxes where we wanted them too - this is a first for us - all other moves boxes were placed where ever. We moved within Edmonton this past weekend and words cannot express how much more pleasant Alberta First Choice made this experience. Moving is stressful and a lot of work, and these guys made it look easy. They worked fast and were very professional. My building manager even asked me for their contact information because she said she sees many movers due to the nature of her job and these are by far the best and fastest movers she has seen. We used Alberta First choice when we sold our 2 story walk out home, and put things in storage. We were so happy with them we used them from storage to our new 2 story home. Very efficient, and organized in how they load their trucks, protecting your items all along the way and utilizing all space in truck. Communicate with each other extremely well. When unloading the truck to our new home, they constantly communicate with us asking where we would like things put. Used floor Matt’s in our homes and had lots of moving Matt’s to protect furniture in the truck. Correct amount of people for the task. They have put together a great team of workers.

They moved all my belongings from Edmonton to Calgary. I was very impressed with the level of service and value I received throughout. Luke was very easy and clear to deal with. He accommodated all of our needs and was great at communicating every step of the way. Josh and Alaina were excellent, kind and very hard working. They took everything down and put it back together in our new residence very quickly and efficiently, they were great to deal with. While searching for a company to do a local move, I found Alberta First Choice Moving Systems. This was not the only company I called but I liked how Bob handled my questions and I must admit, I also liked the quoted price. Due to my schedule, the Team arrived as scheduled (an hour earlier than they normally start) and worked tirelessly while both loading and unloading my belongings. They took great care in handling everything and were finished the whole move within 6 hours. I am more than happy with the service provided and again the price. I will gladly recommend this company to any of my friends and will call them for my next move.

I didn't use them, but they ruined my front property, I had big rocks in front and had to move them in place, on top the family they were moving, they broke branches off the tree and they did not care. Please do not use them, they are unprofessional and disrespect other people's properties. I can't reply back to the owner, but I do remember very clear the company that was doing the moving and it was you, the drivers didn't seem to care much and at that time, there were 3 of them. You may not be aware, but these drivers did what they did, have a meeting with the drivers and let them know what the consequences if it's to occur again.

Bob was professional and helpful from the first phone call to the last box being set in our home. He provided a written estimate at the outset and there were no unexpected charges. The logistics of the move from St.Albert, Alberta to Vancouver was difficult. We moved to a townhouse complex in downtown Vancouver that has limited access and many stairs. Bob delivered on time, did not complain (or charge extra because of the difficulty) and handled each item with respect. Throughout the process Bob kept us updated on timelines, answered all of our questions and remained in good humour. I would highly recommend this company.

Alaina and Josh absolutely knocked it out of the park! They arrived right on time and were quick, efficient, and very kind. I was billed for exactly how long they took (which was no time at all) and I although that should be the standard, that isn't always the case. I appreciated that they were fair and honest and took care of my items and the walls/floors in the homes. But above all I cannot stress enough how kind they were - this is a company worth supporting. I had 9 appliances to move (5 out of the house and 4 into the house). I called on Saturday at about noon to see if they could move them on Monday or Tuesday. Bob contacted one of the teams and they came by at about 5:30 pm. Squeezed me in at the end of their day. It took them about 1 hour to move everything. It would take me and another person several hours to do this. The guys were well organized and conscientious in the performance of their job, very professional. This was my second time using Alberta First Choice and I will definitely hire them again for my next move.

These guys are spectacular! They messaged saying they would be early, which was great, they brought more muscle then needed. They loaded our 3 bedroom house inside of 3.5 hours. This was a long hall move, they met us at our new place the next morning and were just as fast and efficient at unloading as they were loading. I went with Alberta First Choice based on a recommendation from my realtor - glad I did! Luke was prompt and provided a detailed estimate within 24 hrs. When it came to the moving days, crews were on time, professional, but also personable - I felt that they cared about our possessions. A great company and fantastic employees. They easily took my booking two weeks in advance, confirmed the move 24 hours in advance and were prompt on arrival time. Their two movers were quick to point out any defects in the items they were moving to make me aware and the same with the destination regarding any scuffs in the floor prior to bringing items in. The owner of the company called halfway through the move to insure I was happy and things were to my liking. They were efficient in time and incredibly friendly. Would definitely use again.

I simply googled movers and hired First Choice as they were the simplest to work with over the phone. These guys were awesome to deal with day of as well. Of course it had to rain during the move (and stop when we were done) but they were respectful with their shoes, had all the gear/matts prepared, fun attitudes and were efficient. They really know how to play Tetris extremely well. Thx to the three fellas who helped with the move today! Would recommend this crew to anyone moving, and already have. Thx again team!

My first experience in using Movers so in spite of some apprehensions we had a positive experience. Ted & Terry were respectful, friendly and handled our belongings with care . They worked so hard and were very mindful of staying within the 3 hour minimum. I now have a greater appreciation for how tough a job it is for Movers and it is in this sermvice that I feel a generous gratuity is well deserved. I had to change my schedule twice and Bob was very accommodating, easy to deal with and very friendly in manner.

Downsizing from a home to a condominium on the 6th floor. The gentleman at Alberta First Choice Moving Systems were most accommodating as we requested 3 stops to distribute furniture, etc. They were quick, efficient, professional and very reasonably priced. I was very happy I had hired them for this move and appreciated their calm and positivity. Due to the excellent service they provided, I will definitely recommend them to others.

We moved in October and we were very impressed. Showed up on time, were professional and friendly. Flooring was protected, care was taken with the furniture and they were quick to load up the truck. I booked this company and the service was AMAZING. I can’t speak enough to how professional these guys were. I hired them to pack and moved and it was really stress free. When selling a house and buying another whilst core donating moves it can get stressful and this company made sure I was completely taken care off. Bonus points for them safely lowering my sectional down the balcony haha - that was an adventure!

I hired this company last minute for an unexpected move. the price was reasonable. they were very responsive to me. they sent over a huge truck with two men to help us move. the men were so nice and very funny. they were in and out in no time! they were very careful with our furniture and taught us some new things as well. I cannot recommend these guys enough! They were fast, took great care of everything, experienced in knowing how to maneuver items and really personable. They even left my kids a note on their chalkboard telling them to enjoy their new home. Small touch, but I think it speaks volume. They're rates were great and they were worth every penny! We were able to get everything done we needed to- crew (Adam et al.) were pleasant, professional and worked hard in the heat on moving all our heavy stuff. I moved a storage and a house in 1 weekend. That should explain my state of mind by the time the movers came. I am a senior woman who required a move from one one apartment to another. Luke and his staff did an excellent and timely job of packing and moving my belongings. The staff was professional and respectful of my needs. I would definitely recommend this moving company.
