""The hotel's location was great as everything was within walking distance"
After a tiring cycle from Lillydale to Warburton on a Sunday. We had one thing on our minds, BURGERS! We swung in to the Alpine Hotel - barely able to walk. We happily found that the hotel is very well presented and with a relaxing atmosphere. We were welcomed by very affable staff members who helped us get set up in the Bar, this made the reality of chowing down on a big delicious BURGER even realer than real! We ordered at the Bar and my partner asked if she could have the burger, but hold the cheese please. (a fair request we thought) The nice young person who served us asked if it was a dietary requirement, because if it wasn’t and it was just preference than the chef wouldn’t be willing to oblige the request! We said it was a dietary requirement. Not more than fifteen minutes later the glorious moment had come, the moment we had been dreaming of for the last 10 kilometres of our cycle!! BURGERRS! They were delicious! Couldn’t fault them, only for the size of the portion being on the small side for $28 but we put it down to shrinkflation. We had gravy on the side for our chips which was fairly bland. As we had limited phone service and my partner needed to send a message she asked if it was possible to use the WIFI to which we were informed it was only for hotel guests and that paying $80 for lunch wouldn’t constitute the use of the hotels NBN. So easily could have been four stars for us but in the end we feel like all paying customers should have WIFI access if it is available. Reasonable requests to adjust items from the menu should be allowed even if it isn’t a dietary requirement.

A beautiful spot to spend the evening. Staff were friendly and professional. The bar was well organized but the kitchen must've been chaos. Ordered 6 oysters at 7.09pm and they arrived after 8pm - asked several times and got told the kitchen was really busy. I saw other diners who were in the queue to order after me that received their cooked food before 6 oysters ?! Main meal- one meal arrived at 838pm and it was awful - couldn't eat it. Whilst waiting on the other meal -which arrived 10 minutes later - the manager kindly offered a replacement meal or dessert -but we didn't take it as knowing the kitchen was closed and wasn't sure if it would be another disaster meal - so opted for the hot chips. I don't mind waiting for food but it's inedible there is no point.

Could not fault tonight's dinner if I tried. Food was absolutely divine (vegetable tagine with lamb, chicken wings, and asparagus dish). Made with love and care, cooked to perfection, and served beautifully. Kids' meals were a little pricier than other places at $14-18 (with no extras eg a drink) but high enough quality that we thought the price was acceptable - actual fish in the fish and chips, not processed frozen crap, and 'the best cheeseburger I've eaten in my life' according to the child who ate that. The staff were friendly and attentive, and service was fast. Highly recommend this place for great food, we'll definitely be back in again before our mini holiday here is over!

Had lunch here on a Sunday. We were seated in a room with a big glass window overlooking the river & forest. Magnificent view! It’s a large venue and there’re various settings to choose from both indoors and outdoors. There’s even live music on some nights. The food we ordered was to my surprise, extremely good. We had the duck casoulet and mushroom gnocchi. The duck was was moist and absolutely delicious! The gnocchi had a nice texture, coupled with the perfectly cooked mushroom & its juice, it was a simple dish at its best. Staff were attentive and friendly. The only setbacks is that you have to order at the counter and the cocktail is premixed and there is very limited choice on cocktails.
"The hotel's location was great as everything was within walking distance. There was live music on weekend nights, and the outdoor and indoor sitting areas were lovely. The building was old but nicely renovated. We stayed in room 19, which had a king bed and a bunk bed for the kids. The hotel had a shared kitchen, but the room had no refreshments such as a mini-fridge, cutlery, coffee, kettle, or iron. However, paying $300 per night was not a good value for the money. I had booked the room directly through their website.

Lovely location and friendly service. We ordered two wagyu beef burgers, coke and Prosecco for $78.59. One of the burgers was gluten free. The bun was delicious and apparently made in house. The burger was easy to eat (not messy) and tasted like a flame grilled whopper. The chips were fresh and crunchy. This may be an unpopular opinion but my partner and I think fresh tomato in the burger would make it 10 out of 10! Will return when we are back in town.

Alright pub dinner, service was very good and the staff are friendly and attentive. Dog friendly and I really liked the water service area which was great on a 30° day. Really organised service with drinks on one side and food orders on the other. The parma was good and the kids menu has a decent range of options too (though we couldn’t add veggies to our choice) but the prawn linguine was a miss for us, too salty & buttery for us.

This is the friendlies hotel my family and I have stayed in. A most enjoyable experience with very helpful and hospitable staff. Food in the restaurant was delicious. We are the Airbnb family who was let down by our host and we were welcomed with open arms by all members of the Alpine Hotel staff. Overall our experience in the Alpine hotel was one of the best.

Beautiful location, spacious sunny dining rooms and beer gardens, with views over the river and surrounding mountains. Perfect spot for a meal. Food was delicious and the service was warm and friendly. The room was very clean, beautifully styled and a very comfy bed. Lovely place to spend a weekend (or longer)- close to Warburton town and mountain bike trails, stunning country drives and local attractions.

Wonderful location, incredible beer garden and loved my big and simply appointed room (37). I was there for NYE last night and loved the DJ and music. It took awhile to get my food and drinks but they were super busy and the service was friendly. My family and I had burgers and a pasta and they were good. We’ll be back! Rob

Rachel and Ben and the team at Alpine Hotel Warburton were very warm and welcoming hosts. I got a good night’s sleep at the hotel and then was ready for the 23km return hike to and from the redwood forest - it was pretty amazing to have the forest (almost) all to myself. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Took visitors to dinner in the restaurant. Staff were very friendly & helpful, but the good news stops there. Very limited menu, waited hour & a half for meals which arrived at different times, the 4th meal arriving after the other 3 had finished. Food was lukewarm & very mediocre. When I tried to order dessert was told kitchen closed at 8.30 - it was then 8.32. Embarrassing having to apologise to our guests. Overall impression - terrible.
Nice and clean stay in the Warburton area. Looked after property with an ageing vintage charm. The restaurant and pub are excellent for dine in options. but the friendly and courteous staff are what makes this place special. They attended and addressed a concern we had very well. I would recommend the River view room. There's no breakfast option but the staff are working on it.

My family and I stayed the night at the Alpine and we loved it! The rooms are large and comfy and I love the decor and little touches. We were there on NYE and it was busy so the food took awhile but totally worth it! Better than your average pub fare and they have a great selection of wines and cocktails. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Love the alpine!

I loved staying here. Service was excellent. Food was great and even the bed, pillow and sheets were great! The secure bike shed was appreciated and with all your space, reckon there’s scope to put in some sort of spa/plunge pool/recovery setup to keep attracting cyclists!

Stayed here after riding the Warburton rail trail from lilydale. Great and grand historic building with cozy rooms and old world charm. We dined at the bistro and enjoyed a coffee from the little backyard cafe in the morning. Really lovely staff and a great spot for trail riders thanks to the complimentary bike storage.

An excellent pub with really great food. The Fish n Chips & Wagyu burger were super delicious (however on the slightly small serving size). The staff were great & the venue is lovely & comfortable.

We had the whole experience here. Accommodation, private birthday party and dinner. All fab. Wonderfully accommodating with our room for a family of 4. Stunning river side view from our suit. Every staff member were a delight. Thanks for an excellent stay, can't wait to come back soon. More
Had a brilliant lunch here with work colleagues, beautiful outdoor dining, lovely food and excellent service. The view over the Yarra river is delightful, great range of beers and menu, will be back with the mountain bikes to ride the trail which goes past the beer garden! Thanks More

The service, standard and location of this hotel was perfect. We enjoyed the little extras like water and glasses to our room, complimentary coffee vouchers, and friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend this venue for an overnight stay. More
Endured over an hour of waiting for a simple order of chips and a burger, only to witness all other meals ordered 40 minutes later being served first. No compensation for the prolonged wait on our initial orders. The meals, lacking in value
As soon as we walked into the Alpine Hotel, we were greeted so warmly, and the service we received throughout the night was probably one of the best we have ever received, and that says a lot considering we eat out very often. The food was
We held a family wedding anniversary dinner here, 19 guests including 4 little children. We had a private room with river views and a cosy log fire. The grazing menu was absolutely delicious, the children’s meals were beautifully cooked

Came for a walk in dinner on the weekend with my family and was absolutely thrilled with our experience. We dined in the atrium which was visually lovely and a comfortable temperature.
Beautiful location, but the food is overpriced, $38 for parma with tastless gravy, and the salad is just lettuce. $6 for a postmix coke! Kids aged 11 & under burger/chips $18.
