"Just to objectively list the various things in the gym which are broken: Only 2/3 of the squat racks have safety bars, the tissue dispenser downstairs has been broken since I arrived (over a year ago), 2/3 bins in the gym are broken (one for over a year), the downstairs clock has been broken / off time for over a year, leg extension and hamstring curl machines are broken, at least one cardio machine is always broken (currently two), no toilet lid in the upstairs toilet, a panel has fallen off the hip abductor, one of the cable ankle straps is completely broken, rubber on the lat pulldown bar is torn to shreds (and sticky?), currently one of the toilets is out of order and Velcro on one of the barbell squat pads has worn out completely but it’s still left around for some reason"
"Avoid this gym"
"Definitely won't suggest anybody joining this one at Bridgewater Place"
"The gym itself is alright, nothing special"

Just to objectively list the various things in the gym which are broken: Only 2/3 of the squat racks have safety bars, the tissue dispenser downstairs has been broken since I arrived (over a year ago), 2/3 bins in the gym are broken (one for over a year), the downstairs clock has been broken / off time for over a year, leg extension and hamstring curl machines are broken, at least one cardio machine is always broken (currently two), no toilet lid in the upstairs toilet, a panel has fallen off the hip abductor, one of the cable ankle straps is completely broken, rubber on the lat pulldown bar is torn to shreds (and sticky?), currently one of the toilets is out of order and Velcro on one of the barbell squat pads has worn out completely but it’s still left around for some reason. In terms of cleanliness, the gym is particularly grimy. There’s not been sanitizer in the dispenser downstairs for a concerning amount of time and if you wipe the workout matts the tissue is immediately black with dirt and grit. Better still, we’ve been given toilet roll to clean the equipment with for over a month because they’ve ran out of blue roll and for some reason can’t purchase any more. This is keeping in mind that I was told over a year ago that we’d be getting actual cleaning wipes very soon (this of course never happened). Thankfully, the staff are at least kind and apologetic. In the ten years I’ve been going to the gym, I have never seen one in a worse state. Unless the location and opening hours of this gym are supremely useful to you such as they are to myself, I would categorically recommend literally any other gym within a 15-mile radius for a cleaner, less dilapidated and most likely cheaper experience.
Avoid this gym. Had a call last year as I stopped going and they agreed to stop my membership in November last year and that they will do a call in April to see if I would like to join again. Had no call in April as agreed and left it at that as I am unable to go to the gym anyways due to personal circumstances. Then had a payment attempted last month and put my account in arrears. Did try to speak to management however one of the staff member rudely spoke to me and accused me of being rude to her despite the conversation was being recorded as her tone from the get go was horrid. They took the payment today as a direct debit in one go today. I have called and will email to give my “1 month notice” despite not being a member since November last year. Not happy with this and will take it further with the head office. I will however say the manager did call back and due to being involved in accident at the time of our conversation I couldn’t call back but he has always been helpful when I used to go so thank you Jake.
Definitely won't suggest anybody joining this one at Bridgewater Place. Many of the facilities, as other people commented before, are not maintained in proper way/at all. For example, 2 out of the 5 treadmills are not functioning at all. One of them has been out of service for about half a year but nobody fixed it yet. The other one seems to have some some software problems but also, nobody fixed it and just left it idle for about a month already. Sent them an email but no reply, no improvement (the treadmills still not functioning) and no one cares at all. The website of anytime fitness says any complaints need to be dealt with by individual branch. That means if the manager and staff members in that branch don't do anything, no one else can help. And as you can see in other comments over the past few months, many suggestions have been given but, still 1 star after 1 star, who cares? A complete waste of money.
The gym itself is alright, nothing special. But the customer service and policy suck!! Before joining, the staff was very keen to get you sign up, called me multiple times a day after my first visit (somewhat annoying). However, when I tried to end my membership, no one answered the phone on staffed hours, I left a voice message, no one replied, I called, they said need to refer to a manager (seriously?! just to end a membership) and will call me back, but they never did. After I called again, they said I can't end my membership before being a member for 12 months without the evidence of changing jobs or moving to a new place!!!! So be prepared to lose a few hundred quid if you only want to use the gym for 6 months or something. They said it's inside contract (which I'm still try to confirm), but definitely no one mentioned to me when I explained that I'll only be in Leeds for 6 months.
Avoid like the plague Had exactly the same issue as other reviewer Pippa. I cancelled in October, they take a week just to acknowledge that and then couldn't find my details. Turned out they'd transferred me to another gym without telling me. They promised to sort it when I spoke to them by phone but clearly did nothing as they took a December payment and now want to take a January one! I've still heard nothing from the gym that they claim they've transferred me too either so wouldn't be surprised if they get in touch in January to say I've not cancelled. Despite emailing them twice! The gym itself is pretty basic too. Rubbish changing/shower facilities. Small. The 24/7 aspect is handy but you just feel like you're using a fob to enter a small sweaty place where no-one talks to each other. The staff just stay in their little office. Honestly not worth it.
Was only here temporarily and the staff were fine with me cutting short the 12 month contract as I moved cities and didn't have access to an ATF nearby so I can't fault the manager. The facilities were pretty good but I have to agree with some of the more negative comments on here - the staff were very eager to get me to sign up and while I didn't expect a 'personal trainer' experience, I was told that I could put training plans past them for support etc.. when contacting staff and sending plans through email I was ghosted completey multiple times. This was disappointing given I was in recovery at the time for a knee injury, and during sign up the instructor (Nick) seemed really nice, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping me regain the strength and mobility I was looking for.
Horrible, the Gym is small and one machine is still broken for almost two months now. Customer service is very very good at lying to customers. Be careful, they get to sign in for a contact at least a year and then you can’t cancel until you provide a written letter and after almost one year of membership. Ironically, they promised me before I sign to cancel my membership anytime I want just to give a notice one month before and it was a big big lie. They also lied to me about discounts, it will appear in you account, and they were right it appears in my account that they were just lying to me. What a shame, they really don’t care. I really don’t recommend anyone to come close to this horrible gym.
One star is too kind. Trying to get two months of payments out of me after cancelling, despite closing membership in October and paying for an additional month (November) without any access to the club as fob was returned. I’ve always been paid up to date and they claim that I now owe them for December. Despicable. Head Office refuse to deal with complaints and pass down to Leeds who just make up their own rules and don’t care about customers. Used to be a good gym until new management. Gym dirty, equipment not well maintained and customers treated appallingly. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere where you can get the full use of facilities in a nicer environment for the same price.
I was previously a member for around 18 months. Never saw dirty showers or toilets like someone stated. The place was always spotless, I'm speaking mainly of the Moor Allerton gym as this was the one I used the most, but the same applies for the city centre gym (Leeds). I'm planing to join again, i miss lifting. That first few weeks will be rough but it's worth it. I think it was about £31 a month, I dare say it's probably gone up since then but well worth it, I appreciate value for money. Even at peak times not once did I have to wait, it doesn't get rammed out like most gyms early evening. Great gym. Great times.
As an outside visitor to Anytime Fitness in Leeds, the gym is well equipped to those who have vision other then the bench press and bicep curls! Those machines are there too! For those too afraid to get a leg day in. The machines are clean and easy to understand and the customer service that my wife and I received was excellent, welcoming and the manager Darren couldn't do more for us. I recommend this gym. But for those who make there decisions based on negative reviews, experience the gym for yourself not those who purposefully go out and write negative reviews and can't see the positives.
This is the worse gym I ever joined. The staff are supposed to start at 9am but the hours are subject to change so they start at 11am. The "private showers" are cubicules and does not look maintain. classes are advertised but it happens during odd hours for 30mins. Moreover, there are no more that 3 classes in one day and on a friday only one classe is running. Very poor service, very poor gym. This is a big facility however it is not used appropriately. Definitely cancelling my membership.
The gym is a bit grimy as others have pointed out. Some machines are in various states of disrepair or are nonfunctional. Certainly not worth the high monthly fee considering the options available in the city centre. I promptly cancelled my contract within the 14 day cooling off period which entitled me to a refund of any fees paid. Despite chasing numerous times over the course of a month, I had to eventually file a dispute with my bank to be refunded. Useless customer service.
It’s a medium size gym so don’t expect fitness/exercise rooms or classes etc. Fortunately doesn’t get too busy for now so its usable for now. There are a limited number of changing rooms and showers so be ready to wait and the lockers are tiny, so tiny that they only fit phone, keys, wallet etc. You have to leave your bag on a shelf and hang clothes on a clothes rail, thankfully hangers are provided. Be ready to haggle for best deals, they will drop the cost if you push enough.
When I first started my membership in Dec the quality of the gym was basic but got the job done, there was sufficient equipment for a work out. However over the past 9months there has been a decline in standards of the gym, the changing rooms are always dirty and wet, there is equipment everywhere and never put back. It seems like the place is only clean when the manager is in. Not really happy with this gym anymore.
The person who owned this gym also owned the Wakefield branch which recently went bust! Me & a friend paid £300 each up front for a years membership, went 4 times a week for a month before it closed. After speaking to Anytime Fitness franchise who every time lie and say they will issue a refund we now have no hope of getting any of our hard earnt money back. I would avoid the Anytime Fitness gyms like the plague!
The treadmills are not maintained well they have cracks and shake while running. Cancelation policy is smartly designed to steal money from your pockets. Before joining I got several calls asking me if I need any assistance but after I was a member and at times when I couldn't go to the gym not a single person called to check.
Very nice Gym. You can't run out of choices of equipment. Private Bathrooms my favourite! I can use my membership at all other Anytime Fitness gyms in the world at no additional cost! I didn't see that coming. Friendly staffs very helpful. Can't believe how much I had to pay. And it is membership for life!!!
I’ve been to this gym a little over a couple of times when the pandemic happened. Anytime Leeds have been pro-active in giving members several options upon temporarily closing & were very helpful when I unfortunately had to end my membership (for personal reasons). Thank you Anytime Leeds!
Absolutely fantastic gym, I personally prefer a non commercial gym and Anytime Fitness ticks all the boxes. A wide range of machines and equipment and a friendly team that helps you with any questions. The gym is clean and the equipment is constantly wiped down, would highly recommend.
This is a very, very small gym with small unclean showers. I would not be happy with this gym if it was my regular gym. It's a shame as it's in a decent location. *visited again and the showers were cleaner and definitely a better experience.
Use to go here. Not a good gym, tiny cramped weights area and the bald staff member was really arrogant and rude. For the money they are asking the gyms in the city centre offer much more for a similar price.
Anytime Fitness have recently changed management. The new peeps are very helpful and approach you very personally. Great stuff! Do go, especially if you like going to the gym in odd hours of the day :)
Great location right next to all the major hotels. Very well equipped with all machines and free weights. Really helpful and friendly staff. Makes me wonder why I pay so much for my Gym back at home.
my brother used to go to this gym. Unfortunately he experienced discrimination (based on his brown skin and background) from a member of staff called Abbie Brumpton and a trainer called Jake Perkins.
Been going here for a few months. Small gym but good for the facilities, equipment well maintained and staff are quite friendly. Would recommend for anyone else living in the city.
Really great team, always so friendly and helpful. The gym was always clean, and in full working order! Sad I had to move!
Good quality gym. Not too busy and can always use machines/weights you need to. Very helpful during Covid with payments.
Good gym. Not too packed and heaps of equipment. Maybe i havent found them all but seems light on toilets and showers.
Serves a purpose but lacking the finesse of most modern health clubs... oh and also lacking in changing rooms. Weird.
Great gym! The small amount of changing rooms makes it a bit awkward during busy hours but all around great gym!
Good gym but usually crowded from 15:30 until 17:30. Except from the machines it doesn't offer anything else.
Good range of equipment, especially free weights. Good personal trainers. Easy access, always clean.
Great gym! Used to love training here when lived in town. Good machines and loads of space to train!
Very good and clean gym. very friendly staff and a good environment. Jamie is is great guy!
Great location and nice gym. They need to improve shower arrangements otherwise good gym.
Fantastic gym, amazing staff always very helpful, would recommend this club ! …
Not too crowded and the staff are nice. Could do with a few more facilities.
Great gym with lots of space and equipment , changing rooms aren't the best
Nice gym that doesn't usually get too busy. Great for a workout after work.
Good equipment, nice and easy gym to get in to just not enough facilities
Quite expensive. TV screens do not work at night on the running machines
Good gym with decent equipment, has the essentials, and 24/7 is a plus.
Ideally situated for working in the area friendly and helpfull staff
Nice gym, good equipment. Sometimes too busy to do what you'd like.
Very dirty gym, from showers to equipment! Zero cleaning standards!
Minimal gym layout and spacious. Enough equipment for most people
