My favorite part of New Orleans. I first learn how to ride a bike caught my first bass in the pond as a teenager my friends and spent all day there riding our bikes fishing other things. The first place I walked my best freind a boxer name Tyson. Play golf there take peaceful walks would bring my girlfriends there I can go on and on. Oh not lets forget the oak trees picnics parties at night.
Playground
Very nice kinda new playground with different activities than others it's located on st.charles Ave across from loyal university

Picnic area

The atmosphere at Audobon Park is hard to beat! It is very clean and in a good location. The cycling and running/walking path is a 1.8 mile loop. Beautiful park full of the best climbing trees. There are tons of benches to sit and enjoy the water and a couple fun playgrounds for the little ones. The golf course is well maintained and the non-paved running/walking 2 mile outside loop is a nice touch. Would recommend taking a visit to this park if you are in town or a resident of New Orleans.
Playground
The two playgrounds are perfect for the little ones with plenty activities and a well designed play structure.
Restrooms
The restrooms aren’t anything special; average.
Dog-friendliness
There are a couple water fountains for dogs scattered around the park and lots of grassy areas to run around in.
We went there with family to celebrate our grand daughter's birthday. A lot of it was the same things from the last time, but we went to more exhibits and took more time. We stopped at the Restruant at the swamp exhibit. The Cypress Knee Café. All of it was basic comfort food: fries and chicken tenders, fries and fish with chicken tenders. Several had various types of gumbo. All ate until full and had leftovers. You won't leave hungry.
Playground
There several playgrounds being used by dozens of happy kids.
Restrooms
Restrooms were large and clean.
Dog-friendliness
I saw several families with dogs on leashes.
Picnic area
Plenty of room to sit with your family to eat.
I always have a wonderful time here when I bring the kids or if I go by myself. There is a track that goes around the park that is almost 2 miles long. There is a side for you to ride your bike or walk or jog. You can have a blast at the park
Playground
There are two playground spots that are really nice for the kids to enjoy themselves. There are swings at both play areas for big kids and small kids.
Restrooms
They are restrooms located near both play areas.
Dog-friendliness
Dogs are welcome here. There is even a water fountain located for dogs. They just ask that you pick up behind your dog
Picnic area
You can pick a spot to place a blanket and have a picnic
We recently visited Audubon Park in New Orleans and had a wonderful experience. The park is great for walking and jogging, with scenic views and plenty of room to stretch out. It's also very relaxing, with a peaceful atmosphere that makes it perfect for family outings. The park has some nice features, such as playgrounds and picnic areas. There are also plenty of benches throughout the park which are great for sitting and enjoying the scenery. The park also has some beautiful trees and gardens which make it very pleasant to stroll around.
This zoo is beautiful. There is a wide variety of animal exhibits available. The property itself is stunning, with 300+ year old trees, gorgeous flowers and plants, roaming peacocks, and well-maintained gardens. There were a ton of bees at the zoo, around the flowers, hovering around the trash cans, and landing on us every now and then, but they were not aggressive. Not sure if it is just because everything is in bloom, or if they are there all the time, but just a heads up in case you're allergic to bee stings.
“Audubon Park is a beautiful place to enjoy various activities, including walking, biking, and rollerblading. It's perfect for those who love to walk or jog, offering scenic views and ample space to unwind. The peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal destination for family outings. The park boasts some wonderful amenities, including playgrounds and picnic areas. Additionally, you'll find numerous benches scattered throughout, providing excellent spots to relax and soak in the picturesque surroundings."
Gorgeous, safe, clean and relaxing area! We saw absolutely zero trash around the area. It is such a beautiful open space to come relax or run/walk/bike around the 1.8 Mike loop
Playground
Huge! Lots of space for the kids to burn off their wiggles!
Restrooms
Clean!
Dog-friendliness
Dogs must be on leash (duh) but excellent park for doggies to burn off their wiggles too!
Picnic area
Shaded, clean, spacious picnic areas!
Was dropping someone off @ Audubon Park & didn't realize it was Boo @ the Zoo weekend. Traffic was a nightmare as you can imagine! It's also this weekend (Halloween weekend), so if you're not planning to attend this incredible event, I'd stay away from the area! Families come in costume & have a blast trick-or-treating. Lot's of wagons, etc. I was at "The Fly" for a while and snapped a few pics along the way. Have fun, stay safe & be KIND to others.
This is a wonderful park to go for a long walk. It's never too crowded and always feels safe. I always enjoy visiting it The Park is well laid out and the ancient oaks take you back to in time. There is a well maintained, paved running and bicycling path around the perimeter, an executive golf course with clubhouse and restaurant, and the Audubon zoo occupies most of the park area between Magazine St and the Mississippi River.
After decades coming to New Orleans to visit family, Audubon Park is one of my all time favorite places to go. Walk or jog the paths around the park in the mornings, admire the impressive trees, have a picnic, or take kids to the playground. It's a beautiful setting and a gem of New Orleans. P.S. For more favorite places in New Orleans, do a web search for "Intentional Travelers New Orleans" to find our blog post guides.
A very nice park in the garden district of New orleans . We saw it from the Charles Street trolley. Nice for walking running , riding bikes.
Playground
Swings slides etc. Near bathroom and covered picnic area.
Restrooms
Basic , clean enough
Dog-friendliness
Most dogs were on leash but there is a big field for off leash
Picnic area
One I saw was by rest rooms and playground.
This Zoo has the potential to be amazing, but it's like a ghost town now. The animals are awesome, but the facilities really need some help. Maybe it is from lack of funding or tourism. So please visit it because it would be a shame if it had to close. Maybe we were there on an off day. It was the middle of the week, but it just lacked life. It is a beautiful property, however.
The Mississippi River is across the street, and the zoo. But, though i love to see wild animals, i would prefer to see them in their natural habitat. I believe the only reason we have the right to keep them captive is for their sake as we don't own another. I know I wouldn't want to be gawked at all day. A tree named life, nearly 300 years old, is across the street as well.
This is a wonderful park for walking running or riding a bike Etc. The paved track is a little less than 2 mi around. Beautiful scenery, statues, wildlife Etc. Park near the golf course entrance and you will be right close to the path. Safe and well-traveled. Restrooms and water fountains are located along the path at building number 10 and at the north end of the park.
If you’re a tourist, a long-time local, or a college student. Audubon Park is a must visit. Enjoy a relaxing stroll through the shade of countless hundred year old oak tress! Or hit the golf course! ⛳️️♂️… have the kids with you? Swing by the Zoo! It’s actually one of the most impressive zoo’s I’ve ever been too. Enjoy the NOLA vibez ✌️
Great place for a run--even in the heat! Over half of the pedestrian trails were in the shade and the other half had a nice breeze. The park trail meanders around a pond, golf course, and nice green space. There is a nice fitness trail and grand trees. It is beautiful, and the bathrooms are clean and open! Audubon Park is worth a walk-around.
The Tree of Life venue in Audubon Park was absolutely perfect. The shade provided by the Tree was so nice. The moss hanging from the tree added a sense of peace. It was such a sweet event. There is plenty of room for lots of guest to be seated around the tree in a beautiful semi-circle. Oh but watch out for the mosquitoes at dusk....
I came to this place for a wedding reception and it was gorgeous. The staff at the club were super friendly, and they did an excellent job catering to the wedding party. The location is absolutely beautiful and the weather was so nice. I loved the trees over here. I would love to come back just to walk around and take photos.
A must place to go! The details in the exhibits make you feel like your in another country not just a zoo. Make sure tongonearly when the animals are more active. Plenty of places for snacks and the food at the restaurants were surprisingly very good.....make sure to have lunch on the porch in the swamp, the kids will love it
this park is amazing beautiful lake with fountains 2 really nice playgrounds a great path splited with a bike path and a walking path perfect to run in the shade fully recommend you to visit it easily accesible from the cable car
Playground
2 great playgrounds with plenty of fun activities including tyrolienne
Audubon Park is one of the most beautiful places in New Orleans to rest, have a picnic, or enjoy time with friends and family. There's a walking/running track, if you're into that, and remnants from the 1884 World's Fair. The park is the unofficial back yard of some of the most beautiful homes in NOLA, too! More
Such a beautiful space to enjoy!! Amazing oak trees!! Some are so big! Nice water area with an abundance of water fowl. Plenty of people walking and biking and just out enjoying the day. Bathrooms are open and clean. So wonderful to have this park available to escape to a green space and connect with nature!
My family enjoyed this place so much we bought a yearly pass and went 2 years in a row. The Zoo was absolutely beautiful. The staff was very educational and friendly. The animals are very well taken care of. This is a great place to take your family for an experience you will remember for years to come.
Beautiful area of town. You can take the St. Charles Street car or the Magazine Street bus. There is also plenty of parking. The paths are shaded by live oaks. Part of the trail is near water, so there are ducks, turtles & water birds. The main path is concrete with both bike & walking lanes
SUCH AN AMAZING PARK!! Amazing walkway around the park, very beautiful oak trees with hanging moss and vines, and a nice golf course nearby as well. Went here on a splendid day with perfect weather and really enjoyed the nature. Cool to see the colonial houses adjacent to the park too
I ran my first 5k here when I was 16. It was sponsored by The Krew of Tucks. I won Brooks Villanova running shoes . After college at SLU I would return to win many more races. I love this park. It has a great loop for running and cycling with plenty of shade from the Oaks.
One of my absolute favorite places in the city. I typically walk the 2mi loop on the north end of the park. The massive oaks, the rookery, the wild life, the meditation garden, are all spectacular to relax after a long day at work. Highly recommend visiting this park.
We had such a great time and little man was so excited just to be with his Papa!! His favorite I think was the monkeys and boy let me tell you we were not leaving until we rode the train!! It was extremely Hot but overall it was a BEAUTIFUL BLESSED DAY!! …
This park is so so beautiful! Seeing the big beautiful oak trees just makes you truly appreciate the beautiful of South Louisiana. It's nice to come and take a stroll, to have a picnic, or to bring the kids to play. Coming here really makes me appreciate nature!
Nice paved path with separate walking and biking lanes and well marked directions. Beautifully maintained. Lots of spots to stop, sit and view the many birds in the nearby water. Great place to bring the kids or dog, or or put in some paces jogging or biking.
The walk through is coordinated so that you can see everything worth seeing, masks on right now it not so bad because it is not so hot to wear the masks. And be socially distant. there is plenty of room to have a good vantage point to see the animals
Audubon Park is beautiful. I wish some people would better respect the park by picking up their trash and making sure it was properly bagged and disposed. It’s a great place to cycle, walk, jog, picnic and just enjoy the day with family and friends.
Beautifully manicured, challenging golf course. Wonderful , friendly staff. It's easy to forget that you're in the middle of a city, with the secluded feel of an oasis. Great bar and restaurant, and well-stocked Pro Shop. Excellent experience
Went first thing when they opened. Lots of the animals were not out or not available. Customer service is terrible. Accidentally left my zoo pictures that I purchased from them in the gift store and when I tried to call 5 times ( the
This is a great zoo. The food in the cafe could be a little warmer - when you put hot food on a cold metal shelf - it cools the food. But we survived. And the people doing Boo at the Zoo all looked like they were having a blast!
Beautiful oasis and a needed antidote to The French Quarter. Loved watching and listening to all the birds, including beautiful egrets. Saw the World War 1 monument, and enjoyed walking along the paths in the green live oaks.
Absolutely loved walking here! There are two parks so make time for both. The natural one is stunning and has a massive tree of life! The other is still beautiful and has an outdoor amphitheater, turtles, flowers, etc.
Walked around on the jogging path near the golf course. The oak trees block out most of the sun, making it a cool, relaxing place to walk. There were beautiful upscale houses to look at and, of course, all of the trees.
This park has numerous paved, and unpaved, pathways surrounding small ponds and old oak trees. It has plenty of covered seating throughout and with lovely views. Great place for a bike, walk, or to just sit and relax.
Beautiful park full of the best climbing trees I’ve ever seen in one place. Tons of benches to sit and enjoy the water and a great path for running/walking/biking. Check out the Tree of life—what a fabulous old tree!
Suspect 'cause I used to live near by. Just love the place, used to jog there, then go to The Fly with friends. So much fun. I've gone visit later, but just keep on missing it. One of those things. Enjoy yourselves.
This is a terrific park with lots of amenities. A huge walking, running, cycling, and roller skating track. Littered with massive oak trees and tons of green space, this park is a serene oasis.
Absolutely beautiful park. Nice wide paths for walking and bicycling.nice ponds . Lots of birds and turtles. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy. There are restrooms. Overall the park was clean.
This was the best day ever to be at the zoo, very peaceful & tranquil. The weather Was perfect for beeing outside. The animals & the people were at their best enjoy this awesome day in May.
Beautiful park with a wide range of things to do/see/experience. Love the peaceful atmosphere, especially by the fountain and by the lake (we spent hours watching turtles, fish and birds).
Gorgeous park, so glad I stopped by! Got rained on and but that was a blessing in disguise as it brought so many birds out! Some beautiful statues and fountains in the park as well.
My guys experienced the jaguar encounter and it was worth every dollar! A moment in there lifetime that will never be forgotten!

So beautiful the trees upon the Ducks. A lovely place to be families having birthday parties people just strolling along. A very peaceful place today I highly recommend it.
Wonderful place for for a walk or bike ride. I loved the paved trail throughout the park. I appreciated that they had a water bottle filler at the bathroom as well.
This is a good park to exercise by running or walking. May be good to paddle a decorative swan boat. Relatively boring for children if visited more than once.
Loved the Botanical garden. And highest point in New Orleans(24 ' above sea level. O2 and Sherpas for $$$$. Map of NOLA at LaBorde mtn. In north of Park.
Great place to bring the family and see animals in mostly open spaces. We enjoyed the walking trails around the park to get from exhibit to exhibit.

Well worth the family membership! We normally go during the summer, but the crowds, heat, and animal activity were so much better in the fall.
I had a great time enjoying all the animal. FYI You really need more than one day to see the entire zoo.
Played golf with some friends! Even shot par occasionally! A lovely and peaceful round of golf awaits!
This is a nice zoo to let your inner child be free with your children, my family had a blast...
It is an excellent place to enjoy nature, play sports and relax for as long as you want.
Beautiful! Was such a pleasant Beautiful trip. Missing some animals but overall good zoo
