My wife went to her booked appointment today at the Aust Post shop at Blackburn North. She went to arrange for a new passport as her old one had expired four years ago. She took her completed application form, her witnessed photos, her expired Australian passport, Victorian drivers license, Australia Citizenship certificate, Medicare card, etc. She came here 20 years ago and has been a naturalised Australian for fifteen years. The woman who served her was of Asian appearance and spoke Mandarin. She said my wife had to show her old overseas passport and proof of overseas address. She no longer has a foreign passport nor an overseas address. We tried tried to explain to her that this request for these additional items was ridiculous and not needed. She said no and told us to phone the passports office so they could tell us that we are wrong and she was correct. Unfortunately her English wasn’t that good so we decided not to argue with her and left. I called the Passport Office support line and was told we had all the required documentation, etc. She has now booked another appointment for tomorrow morning at another Post Office. Hopefully they don't also employ staff with almost no knowledge, courtesy or basic English skills.

Mobile signal is very weak in the shop. When I tried to show my business QR code in my mobile it couldn’t be loaded. The staff asked me to go outside for better signal. After I came back I just waited on the right hand side of the man at the counter. Another lady came after me asked the staff where to queue up for bill payment. He pointed to the left then the lady went there. After the man at the counter left, the staff told me he will serve the lady first. I told him I was in hurry, the lady in the left also asked the staff who is next. He said ‘definitely you’ because she was on the queue but I was not. I was so angry with his response. Why he didn’t asked me to wait on the left when I came lack? I just went outside to get better signal and my parcel was still on the scale. I also told him I was in hurry but he just ignored me and said definitely that lady first. What is the point that lady can be served before me? This was a serious discrimination. I was very very angry with that staff attitude. Totally unbelievable, unacceptable and impolite. I will never ever go to this shop forever!

Terrible service. The passport lady was rude and dismissive. She rejected my photos claiming they were too big - they were not, they were precisely in the range published on the official government guidelines. She then claimed Australian passports can’t show any shoulders. She wouldn’t listen to my explanation of the actual guidelines or accept that the photos were fine as the face measurement and overall size was correct. She flatly refused to process my renewal. I drove 5 mins down the road to Blackburn Post Office and had the opposite experience. A very friendly and professional lady checked my photos and approved without issue. One week later the government issued my new passport. I rarely write bad reviews, but this dodgy post office was awful and wasted my time for no reason. Zero stars: Blackburn North LPO. Five stars: Blackburn Post Shop.

I usually just go buy some packaging, sending parcels and pick up parcel. always been standard service quality. the score is a little exaggerating. sometimes it is just long line but I dot think it's only the staff's fault to be slow. Never had any issue with them. Usually just done my parcel label at home, stick them on the package and then just drop off the postoffice. With a lot of shops have been closing down in Blackburn north shopping center. I am just happy that there is one postoffice that's really close to me. So be nice and patient, people are trying to do their job.

Edit: I visited the post office again and this time I had a much more pleasant experience. So I'm changing the star rating. I found the much older ladies were friendly and had great customer service. So it may be just one lady who was about 40 who wasn't nice. My previous experience with her were as follows - No greetings, just shoved a label and pen for me to sign without saying a word. Then a receipt without saying a word. I asked "is that it?" I received no response or acknowledgement from her still. I still left saying thanks, not too sure why I did :(

I appreciate that this branch is open with later hours and more days than most post offices. The staff are nice enough. I did go here to get a US style passport photo though and it wasn't up to standard. The lighting isn't good enough in the store (shadows on face) and the staff don't know the correct specifications. I had to go somewhere else to get a better photo which was a bit disappointing considering Australia Post advertises this service (and of course the money I wasted).

The service is of an average standard, nothing too special. However, the problem with this Post Office store, is that they only have one person that is able to serve you with your passport pictures and everything in the fields of Government paperwork. The store is also quite stinky for some reason and there are often long queues. Not the greatest..

I try and avoid this post office at all costs, unfortunately my missed parcels go here to be collected so that's the only time I'll ever go there. Staff are rude and very unfriendly, feels like you're an inconvenience to them even though you're the customer. I'd give them a big fat ZERO stars if I could

The female staff was rude. She didn't even look at me or say anything when I said thank you. Also the tracking number they gave to me is “unconfirmed” after few days.

Hope I can tick zero 0 star for them. One star is far too generous. Rude ever service, especially the middle age Chinese lady.
