I never write bad reviews, but this post office rejects passport photos that are not taken there. They purposefully point out something wrong with your photos and make you doubt whether your passport application will go through (He told me ‘We will accept your photos but they could be rejected at the next stage’ before the lady next to him shook her head to express that it probably wouldn’t be accepted.) to convince you to pay for new photos to be taken there. This not only happened to me but also the couple waiting in front of me. They had previously taken passport photos at THIS post office and when they lodged their application today, their photos were rejected. Thankfully, they had replacement photos taken at no cost. But was it even necessary? I doubt that there was a problem with the original photos in the first place, just like I doubt there was a problem with my original photos. My second issue is that even though I had booked an appointment to lodge my passport application, I still had to line up and only got to the front desk 30 minutes later as only 1 person was in charge of passport applications. What was the point of making an online appointment? I would suggest going to a different post office or if unable, stand your ground about your photos.

I almost had a mini panic attack when left this place. still very anxious and stressed. I work full time and don’t really have time during the week to do my passport, so went there on Saturday first thing in the morning knowing it is NOT TOO BUSY. I had my pictures taken and all documents handy and ready to go, the guy look at me and says: can’t do it, won’t do it need to book! Okay understandable but what stressed me the most is when I asked where to book he wouldn’t tell me to book online instead just took a piece of paper added my surname and booked for next week, then I got pissed of and now looking at reviews I realised booking system was not working “HOW WAS I SUPPOSE TO BOOK ONLINE THEN” I tried to explain that without my passport I’m unable to leave the country and having family overseas is hard cause you never know when you need to leave when there’s an emergency or something like that. If passport enquiries are large on weekends wouldn’t be easier to have a staff member just for that? We are paying $350+ to get it done… Will never come back there also PLEASE fix your system and/or find the way in your marketing strategy to let ppl know about this booking stuff!!! Absolutely awful

I placed an order from online shopping merchant. They splited into three parcels. On Thursday I went to post office handed in the card for collection. They gave me two and I was not realised there are actually three split parcels for one order. After I opened the parcels there are some items are missing that's the time I realised I still have one parcel in post office. I went back there on Saturday, the lady insisted they've got nothing where the tracking shows it's delivered to castle hill postshop. She told me I need to check with StarTrack. Today is Monday, after spoken with StarTrack, as what it shows on tracking, they suggest one employee from CH post office must have used their scanner to scan the parcel triggered their status as delivered to post office. I can only deal with post office to find out where my parcel is. See how unprofessional and negligent they are. And I forgot to mention the passport photo they'd taken for my son got return from immigration since it's poor lighting.

Disgusting customer service from Jozephine. Not only does she move at snail pace but she also on numerous occasions made us feel like we were in the wrong and we made her day a struggle. She gave snarky remarks towards us and the customers around us. When we asked to borrow a pen she complained that it was hers, even though there were a spare 2 sitting in front of her. A system that takes 5 minutes at another post office took Jozephine 35 minutes. It would be a great idea, but obviously too hard, to put a sign up informing customers who need photos to move to the left register. After waiting 15-20 minutes in a line that was pointless, we were told to move to the side. As if that wasn’t enough, we were told to step aside again so the people behind us could have their photos sorted before us. The service and organisation of this place is terrible and I would highly suggest you drive anywhere else and save yourself a lot of time and a terrible shopping experience.

EDIT: The staff in the brand is are actually fantastic, so I don’t want to leave my it at 1 star. The office is fine, but I have politely informed them over and over that their contractor is falsely reporting attempted delivery. I have even had people in line behind me verbalise I that their reason for attending the office is the same. I work from home, I live in an apartment with an intercom, the contractor does not buzz, just leaves a card in the letter box. If I select “leave at front door”, I get a notification saying “unable to gain access”. AND I CANT GO AND COLLECT BECAUSE ITS STILL ON BOARD!! This is every time without fail. If you want AUSPOST to survive, you need to take this feedback and train your contractors, every other delivery company has zero issues make deliveries to this address. I am now tending not to purchase items if they are to be sent by Aus Post. To say I am frustrated is an understatement. Any alternative is better.

I'd avoid this post office in general and for passports in particular. We got our kids photos done from OfficeWorks as it's open till 9. This post office rejected them. I then went back to Office Works and the lady told me that Castle Hill post office has rejected quite a few of our photos and was happy to refund money. We then got our photos done at Castle Hill post office to avoid time wastage. The next day when I went with the application of my kids the guy started looking at the photos as if there was something wrong and the lady standing close to him discreetly told him these were done here and then the guy moved on. A friend of mine went for his son's passport and his photos were rejected too. He went to Baulkham Hills Post Office who accepted the photos and the passport received from Passport Office without an issue. Overall very robotic treatment of customers, no courtesy whatsoever.

Very rude and unprofessional staff. Very dissatisfied with the service. I want to buy 2-3 dollar stamps to send postcards abroad. The first service was a female staff, and I went up to buy stamps. The staff told me later that it would cost $9.50 to buy the envelope for the postcards. I just wanted to buy stamps but very rude staff asked me to buy envelopes for postcards. I explained to him that I just wanted to buy stamps, not envelopes, and I refused to buy envelopes on the spot. After that, I stayed in the store for half an hour and checked the correct postage online. This time, I went to another counter staff to ask the cost of the stamp I wanted to buy, and this time I succeeded. The first female staff was very unprofessional, unfriendly, very rude, not skilled in the job, needs to be improved.

  • Stationery Vibes

Went to check if I could post a small item through padded mail for $2.20, agent checked and said yes you can. Came the next day and went to the counter, and the customer service agent told me after she’d asked me to seal the package(left it unsealed in case she wanted to check if it fit once again) that it will cost 8.95 as she can’t fit it through. Mind you exact same object and I told her her colleague checked and said something completely different. Finally she just charged me for the stamps and told me to put it in the box and said if it’s too less they’ll ask me to pay more(how they will do that I don’t know)even though I asked if I should put it in a bigger mailer. Really disorganised stuff, not appreciated.

Nice local post office. Yes, the lines are long during peak times but it is a small post office serving a popular part of Western Sydney. I have witnessed people arriving at the counter to be served unprepared and not having their paperwork or ID ready. I have also seen people arguing with staff about the terms and conditions that are written on an envelope when their request is refused. This sort of stupidity is what holds everybody up and it is not the post office worker's fault people can't be bothered to read the instructions and terms written on the box or postal bag. PO Box area is easy to access and secure. I have always found sending and picking up parcels from within the post office smooth going.

  • Ninad Chitnis

As can be seen from the number of negative comments, there seems to be something seriously wrong with the way this shop operates as many people are unable to access postal services here. The staff here seemed to have disconnected their phone lines because they were "busy" and so it wasn't possible for us to book appointments. And then they rudely turned us away after waiting 45mins in queue only to tell us to come another day because we hadn't booked an appointment, and that we would never be able to book an appointment on the weekend as weekends were usually busy. Unfortunately, this means we have to take a day off work or find another post office just to access basic postal services, so disappointing!

Today I went to collect an item from the castle hill post office and I arrived just on time before closing. When I reached, I found that the door was closed and I pleaded a man to let me enter. He stared at me with no indication and after waiting for 8 mins he cam and said to come back tomorrow because they were closed. I told him that I came a long way in a rush but he failed to show any pity. I asked once again and he physically pushed me outside the door. Completely ignoring that, he further stated that he would call the police if I entered. This might be one of the most disgusting encounters that I have ever have with any staff. (he was an asian man with glasses and was about 5ft5 inches tall)

  • Kelvin P

postal staffers, especially during this pandemic. While everyone’s working from home, they are there in the front line making our lives better. For that, I thank you and I appreciate your work! That said, there hasn’t been a single time where I go and there’s not a 10-15 min queue. But even that I’m ok with. What I was not ok with, was the fact that my parcel was incorrectly labeled and nearly got prematurely sent back to an overseas sender! If I didn’t happen to picked up, it would have been goneski. I get 2 weeks to pick up an item. And in this case you guys gave me less than 48 hrs. Not cool.

  • J C

Extremely SLOW service. Rarely deliver parcel to your place, despite reply text YES to leave the parcel in a safe place within 3 seconds, been told the respond is too late and they have to take it back to the post office. Despite having someone home the whole day, no door bell no delivery either. DOUBT THEY HAVE THE SERVICE CALLED DELIVERY. You just have to go to the post office to join the long queue which takes longer than the Emergency department in the hospital and election.Service is rude as well, wish I could rate 0 star.

  • Han C-W

worst post office ever! Tracy the lady who served me was so rude, she swore! and didn't explain why i was waiting in front of her for 7 minutes while she tried to fix a problem she had caused by pressing the wrong button, another co-worker came out to help her, who then said " don't worry about this customer, she will get a receipt and you just worry about yourself".. no one said sorry for the mess around i had to ask if we where all done, because she just handed me my receipt and stared at me..rudest lady ever!!

  • Richard Busfield

Have been going here for years, the negative reviews here seem to be from people who don’t have much common sense. Yes this place will get crowded at certain times, at other times there isn’t anyone in the place. It’s the same almost everywhere, if you go around lunchtime then yes, it will probably be crowded. Haven’t had a problem picking parcels up before opening, ever. Occasionally the staff aren’t the best, but having to deal with some of the people leaving reviews here would give me a bad attitude too!

  • Amrik Singh

Asian worker working at 12:51pm on 26/08 did not take a parcel that was for our business as it was a couple kilos over. I advised them that I’ve dealt with auspost my business for half a decade and know how the process works. Asian old man was not willing to listen about parcels being reweighed and sized at the distribution centre then accordingly charged to our business account. Really frustrating that the workers don’t understand the process and aren’t willing to listen.

  • Jane Lieb

Have generally been happy with this post office, but if they offer an early morning parcel collection service ( from 7am ), then someone should at least open the hatch after the bell rings, waited 10 mins, man in front of me had obviously been waiting longer, a total of three buzzer rings still did not bring a response, was late for work, and now have to go to pick up my parcel on Sat morning when there's a long queue before I go to work...really annoyed!!!

  • Taher S D

Very avoidable post office to visit to. Very very slow service and long queues going all the way out on the foot path. Staff very unfriendly and perhaps over worked. There is a sign up that rude behaviour is not tolerated. Hmmm how about practicing what they preach? Also constantly trying to make extra money, rejecting passport photos, overcharging postage costs, etc. Suggest visit the Norwest PO instead for a quicker transaction.

  • Jenny

They’re super covid safe which is good. They’ve got basically all the stock that’s needed in a post office and they get the job done. I think the actual postmen are very effective at what they do as I’ve posted things before and they’ve been taken quickly to the main post centre area. But the staff here, I’ve had mixed experiences with. Some have been relatively friendly and personable while others have been pretty rude…

  • Shane Hanlon

Customer Service a Zero. Made an appointment to obtain TFN documents, turned up and told no sorry we cant do that today our internet is down. Not the first time I've heard this one at this post office. Had all my details and could have called to save me the time. There is also a que out the door and only half the counters ever open. I suppose when you have a monopoly you don't have to really care about customer service.

  • Alice H

If there is zero star I would choose. The online system didn’t allow me to book appointment for passport application so I went straight to the post office. They refused to process as no appointment. How do I get an appointment if their system did not allow? I explained but nothing’d changed. They shoo me away!!! Can’t they just make an appointment right at the spot for me then I can come back to do???

  • L W

I have never had a problem with sending parcels at other post offices, but today, same parcel at here, a lady refused to provide me the address sticker. She told me that post office would not provide an address sticker to customers!! I have sent the same parcel many times before, no matter which post office, the staff would give me an address sticker to write and paste on the parcel.

  • Georgia Wilk

It upsets and confuses me that this branch has so many negative reviews. It's my local branch, and I am frequently in here at awkward times, with weird requests for a small business and I have always had incredible customer service from the team. They have genuinely been so helpful to me every time I'm there, so I'm not sure why others have such different experiences or opinions.

  • golsa keshavarzi

Very rude, unprofessional staff. They want to make money from instant passport photos and reject all photos you take there and find some excuses to not accepting your photos! They charged me double for the instant photo because I didn’t like the first they took. They told me you don’t need to have your baby here in a very rude manner!! I would put zero star If I could!

  • Maggie L

Very unsatisfied with the service, the lady there was rude and shut the door in front of my face telling me to come back tomorrow at 9am when I was there at 4.55pm. I had a parcel that was waiting there to be picked up which I needed urgently. Poor customer service which reflects on the brand itself we thought to have trust and faith in for our postal services..

  • tya

I was there to send little fabric item less then 100g and it fix into a little envelope. The guy did not allowed me to post it out and said it must send as parcel. When I returned home and checked on Australia post website saying that little item under 250g and in normal envelop size is allowed to post as normal mail. Very disappointed service!

  • 杨叶彤DebbieYang

Extremely unhelpful, went there for passport application, presented all my documents, she told me that photo card cannot be used as a proof of age card, but it is clearly indicated on my application summary that photo card IS a proof of age card. She shooed my away and told me to redo the whole application process online again. Awful experience

  • TJ H

I have been to many different post offices in my life. Never have I been treated as rudely and been spoken to as arrogantly as that older Indian woman spoke to me. I walked out feeling like a naughty three year old. Needless to say, I will never again put a foot in this office again, staff at Dural are sooo much more competent and friendlier.

  • R Jenning

I don’t normally go into this post office but did today and lucky for me it wasn’t busy. I had to post something large and the male staff member (of Asian background - sorry didn’t catch his name) was so incredibly helpful and friendly. He helped me set up a ‘my business post’ account to save some money and was just so lovely to deal with.

  • Chirag LePatel

I showed up at 5pm to pick up my parcel. It’s hard to get to a post office working 9-5pm, five days a week. The lady refused to serve me. I understand the office may have closed but I feel that’s poor customer service, it’s not like she packed up and left… the ratings for this post office are a clear reflection of their customer service.

  • Isabelle Fehner

I spent 30 min waiting in line to complete a transaction in 30 secs... This post office desperately needs more staff who don't work at snails pace. Ideally, an 'express' lane should be available for people who just need to drop off or pick up quickly and avoid waiting for others who dilly dally around

  • Behnoush Hosseini

Worst Aus post branch I’ve ever seen. I live in Castle Hill for 2 years and each time I went there, they made the posting process difficult. I think the staff are enjoying making problems for customers. I would prefer to go another post instead of having headache with their non-sense instructions.

  • Anthony Tan

Now I understand why this place has such a poor rating. Poor service. Try acknowledging customers when they are waiting in line while you walk around behind the counter for minutes acting as though there is no one waiting to be served. It’s really easy to do and makes customers feel valued.

  • Ed Comfort

All post offices are slow! The staff here all know me and all say hello even if they are not serving me. They will always try to reduce my postage costs with suggestions. Never had an issue...I go every couple of days, If you are nice to them, there is no reason any would be rude to you!

  • Micky Clarkie

Very slow staff service - this is what happens with public services! The staff don’t care about customer service as they will be paid by the taxpayer regardless of their professionalism. Also can you diversify your staff - Australia is multicultural and everyone here is of Indian ethic

  • D342 Nawns

Didn't think that it was possible to find a worst Australia Post office. Long queues and bad customer service. There are even queues of +10 people before they open. Will never go again, and will prefer parcels to be returned to the sender than waste the time lining up at this place!

  • Kari

It was absolutely an awful experience. I had never had a post office rejected my parcels before even after I paid the postage. The staff was rude, not helpful and slow. They always have a long line in front of the door, and the staff was under trained to handle different situations.

  • Tara Briggs

Rude managerial staff and product displays have misleading price advertising. When a price says $19.99 in size 200 font but $35.00 in size 72 subtype I'd call that alone wrong. When all the items in the bin apply to the $35.00 item, I would call that intentionally misleading.

  • Michael

You lucky you need 1 star to post, otherwise it would be 0. Staff are racist beyond their own colour and refuses to do anything, not even their own job. Place was empty and refused to serve me because I didn't make a booking?? Too busy filming tiptoes these young generations

  • Slippery Weasel

The level of service here has been raised to new heights - sadly, this is purely the service for the smoko room coffee machine which seems to be under immense pressure from the creten's masquerading as postal workers. Avoid this anachronistic place like the plague.

  • mitra J

Some staff are so friendly some are exactly opposite. It is a very very busy place and I think the number of staff and capacity of the place is not enough with that many customers, so every time I need to stay in the queue for more than 15 minutes

  • Heels_ X

Lady resfused to print out a return label and said id have to print it elsewhere. Absolutely ridiculous having the ability to help people and being nasty and lazy making up excuses to avoid helping the people who keep you in a job. Shame on you

  • Jasmine Sun

Went to the post office to pick up a package. The lady that served me seemed all cheery when talking with her co-workers but as soon as she called me over the service was rude and unwelcoming. It would’ve been nice if she just placed my ID

  • labs Jee

No matter what day of the week i come no matter what time. Castle Hill Post office has me waiting in line for 30 minites at least, every visit. The older gentleman standing infront of me today suggested that they provide seats in the line

  • Solmaz Pourzeynali

I wish I had a choice for 0 star! The most awful service, verrrrrry slow and not helpful at all. They do not have correct information on the rules and make problems for you! Too time consuming to do some post at this place.

  • Rita Til

The Asian man who works in customer service, His name is Rudy, he is very rude and unprofessional and has a mental disorder, he has a problem with every single customer, He doesn't bother himself to not give ugly looks.

  • Vinson Thum

Whenever my parcels went through Castle Hills, they never actually delivered to home, but go straight to the post office near me. My Express Post parcel had stuck there for a day not moving. What for paying extra?

  • Robert Kostic

Staff are fantastic and friendly, no complaints what so ever, yes they may have off days but who doesnt? I dont understand all the complaints on here ive got nothing but good things to say about this post office!

  • Louw Venter

I couldn’t even imagine the poor lever of service. The staff is not trained to deal with day to day transactions, and managers seems not to be either. The manager’s attitude is the worst I have ever come across.

  • mandy lee

The courier did not deliver my parcel. My husband was at home waiting. This is disgusting behavior and I have paid for the service that I did not receive and now I have to go pick up from the post office myself.

  • Stephen Redfearn

30/7/2022. Cannot process licence 100 point check, State app not accepted, used it for verfication many times. And she was blunt and rude. May be PO policy but you can be pleasant about it. 1 star is too many.

  • Dongyang Sun

Omg, so many people have the same experience as me. Such a shame that a post office received so many dislike and hates from the public. Rude, unprofessional, disgusting services with discriminations and bias.

  • Liz Re

Who the hell hired these people? I don't care about the queue I care about the unbelievably terrible attitudes! Need to stop buying online. So sick of coming here. Completely unpleasant experience every time.

  • A lee

Staff here are inefficient and rude. They turned away my passport application and told me to redo my photos. I took the exact same documents to another post office and they processed it without a problem.

  • Anna Marie Dolores

What a miserable lot! Unhelpful, can't be bothered attitude! I was already having 2nd thoughts about going there, because staff are incompetent. I should have listened to my instincts and went elsewhere.

  • Ahmad Bilal

Pathetic service or should I say 'no service'. I needed witnessing signature witness service. I checked on Australia Post that this post office is one of the 'participating' branches for this service.

  • Ben Lee

I expect some courtesy towards customers. I also don't expect regular long queues. This post office could use a little more staff, and the queues will shorten, and the customer service is improving.

  • Judy Zong

Most unfriendly staff I even met. When I didn't understand something on the form, the guy just insisted me to read the form few times. I feel discriminated by own kind. Well done!

  • d h

Absolutely horrible. Takes 20 mins to serve each customer. If you're going to come here, bring a packed lunch. The worst post office I've ever had the misfortune of going into

  • Sabiya KHAN

Very bad customer service. Very rude and not focused towards their work. Never getting service from them. They don’t even speak after receiving call. Really disappointed

  • ALisa Hong

I was served by old female Indian counter who was poor communication & poor customer service.... Rushed, rude & poor English accent.... so disappointed & wasted my time

  • Zoe Fong

Customer service used to be bad. But recently they’ve been improving, staffs are now friendly, but the staff at the counter are still quite slow at processing things.

  • Timothy Faust (Tim)

Customer Service was poor, came in 6 separate times and each time was either given a new document to fill out or was told that something else needed to be done.

  • Elisabeth Quinlan

Your delivery guy is great! I give him a 10 out of 10. He is lovely. Prior to Covid, he carried heavy stuff in (I am old). Now, he always rings the bell.

  • M

I required a witness signature which they refused to do despite the fact I had multiple original copies identification. Absolutely useless timewasters.

  • Almost Artists

Service was really nice! Line was long but moved at a good pace and I had a quick and efficient transaction and got some sweet dinosaur stamps :)

  • Susan Jadidi

There is a sign there that we are not tolerate any aggressive behaviour but how about your staff? Quiet rude and unprofessional customer service.

  • Graeme Brown

You cannot contact this Post Office by phone. I simply want to to tell them to stop putting mail for another address in my mailbox. Hopeless.

  • Aiden Mckenzie

What a joke. It takes more than half an hour to post something even when there are 4 people working. Motivate your staff or replace them.

  • Josh Vidal

It's a post office. You go in, pick up a parcel and you get out. I don't know why you people have such high expectations. It's fine.

  • Ayaz Aslam

Went there for lodging passport application. The staff was very helpful and the whole process was finished in good time. Thank you.

  • Teresa yu

Staff is very rude and slow. They are very arrogant and has no standard of customer service. Shame for Australian post

  • Shibu Madathil

Pathetic services. Was rude when I came to renew my passport as she was closing and basically shut the door on my face

  • Maxillian Mus

Rude and impatient staff, no help at all, told us to leave as they did not know what to do about a missing package.

  • Atalie Cross

The staff was rude and unhelpful avoid this post office for passport photos and passport applications.
