Where do I even begin? For starters, staff here seem to have absolutely zero training or common sense on how to deal with people in general. They also do not observe privacy rights of customers, requesting that each customer say their address out loudly in front of anyone else in the store. This despite the fact they can ask for any other form of ID; name, phone number, or consignment number. Seriously? I’ve dealt with two ladies at the front desk, both of Asian appearance (not that it matters what race they are but just so management can identify them for their appalling behaviour, presuming management even care) who were not only completely clueless but were also dishonest and behaved in a disgusting way to another customer. Firstly, they couldn’t find my package and then returned it when they found it without even informing me. They then made zero attempt to rectify the situation. At the time I attended the post office, when I was told to go away because they couldn’t find my parcel I explained that I generally work 6 days a week and wouldn’t be able to return for a few more weeks at the very least. I expressed my concerns around the parcel being returned before I had a chance to pick it up, but was reassured by the lady behind the desk that it would be “ok”. Needless to say, it was not ok. By the time I was able to collect my parcel, the girl behind the desk (different from the one who initially couldn’t find my parcel, this one was wearing glasses) looked completely dumbfounded at my story and then said they return parcels after two weeks. I had to explain the situation a few times before she was able to comprehend what I was saying, and she then repeated that they returned parcels after two weeks if they were not collected and referred me back to the business I purchased from. Absolutely useless. While I was speaking to her, an older gentlemen approached the desk and explained he wanted to send money to his son, who was in jail. The lady who served him (who was the lady who originally couldn’t find my package) obviously had no idea what she was doing so she turned to the lady who was serving me, who then attempted to help her but couldn’t control herself from giggling and laughing about someone being a “criminal” in “jail”. All in front of this older gentleman who was an absolute Angel and maintained his composure despite the disgusting behaviours and attitudes he witnessed towards him. I absolutely dread attending this post office and wish I lived anywhere else so my parcels would go anywhere else. These people are an absolute mess.
The staff at the Earlwood Post office are very rude, even by Australia Post standards, they are the worst I have ever encountered by a very wide margin. The people working here are totally unsuitable to be working in any customer-facing position. They behave as if they doing you a favour by doing their jobs. The power-tripping mind games they enjoy playing include making customers wait unnecessarily long times, closing the counters as soon as you walk up to it, and rudely directing people around the shop. They also frequently try to upsell you to more expensive services, which I believe is a direct breach of their agreement with Australia Post (they are required to offer the cheapest service). The shop is also very small and has an extremely limited range of items, often some of the standard boxes and satchels are not available. It is always a stressful and unpleasant experience dealing with this office. Australia Post should revoke their license. Unfortunately it would appear that the (many) complaints from others have fallen on deaf ears.
I can see there are new owners since Tuesday. Lovely Old staff are gone except for one of the original staff members who they seem to have kept. The original staff I found to be pleasant and always helpful. Now, I won’t be coming here again and will be traveling the extra 2 minutes to the closest PO, as all these reviews are all untrue. How can there be so many positive reviews in just a few hours. These positive reviews are obviously false and done by friends or family. This is not how you run business in our community.
It's almost pointless leaving the same review as everyone else. I'm not expecting fake smiles & outstanding service but at the very least... be civil. Staff are so extremely rude, it's almost like they go out of their way to be as rude as possible, if so, the lady of Asian appearance wins! I need to use Aus Post at least 3 - 4 times per week and absolutely hate having to go because of the staff. Google needs to bring out a zero rating, specifically for this place!
Every interaction with or word heard about this post office has been negative. My two experiences have involved items either delivered to this post office and subsequently lost by the post office, or sending items from this post office and them misplacing my shipment before it even left! There should be a 0 Star or a "Fire and rehire all staff" rating for truly horribly run businesses like this one.
Shame there isn’t a way to put a 0 star rating on this post office, because I would if could. I have had nothing but bad experiences here; from my parcels being lost, to the ladies at the counter taking over 30 minutes to locate a parcel that was awaiting collection (which I still haven’t received!). Absolutely terrible. Do not go here if you want any form of decent service.
They do not actually deliver mail. I was very surprised. This is misleading advertising from google, they said they only collect. They are not actually linked to Australia Post. They said they didn't know how to send parcels!!! The old people before Pandemic began were really nice but the new owners have really let this place go
Always good service. Could be open longer on Saturday. Or open in the afternoon instead of morning. Many trades people work 6 days a week and can't can't pick up parcels before closing.
I sent my stuff with this earlwood post and after 3 weeks it was sent to wrong place and this really upset me and really let me down. They deserve minus star
My interactions including overseas money transfers and parcel delivery have been handled promptly and courteously.
