*do NOT go here for passport photos especially with kids* I was a customer at the North Sydney post office (post code 2060) on December 18th between 4-5pm. I came with two of my young children to take their passport photos. The first lady who was at the counter (thick curly black hair with glasses) was extremely unhelpful. Firstly, she told me to go somewhere else because my children were too young for photos. When I asked politely if she would try to take photos as I really needed them for a passport application, she reluctantly agreed. She was rude to my child who cooperated with all her instructions - and was as well behaved as a three year old could be. She said none of the photos were good enough and to come back later. She hadn't even spent more than 10 minutes with us, and she simply did not want to do this job. She disappeared behind the counter. After 10 minutes someone else came to us and was equally unhelpful. Despite following every single instruction, she could not take a single photo correctly - her camera angle was wrong, it was blurry, and she couldn't be bothered trying to get a good shot. She then asked me which photo I wanted, and I said any photo that passes the requirements -- to which she said none of them do (and I could see on her screen that was the case). But despite have opportunities to capture a proper photo, she was incapable of doing so. I didn't even bother trying to take a photo of my one year old, I could tell they lacked the skills to take a photo and to also interact with other people. I am a mum and it's hard enough to get to the post office in the scorching heat. The least I ask is some empathy and for people to try and do their job. The first lady was rude to me and my child (e.g. "stand up!" "You won't get this truck if you don't behave"). I would never expect anyone to be this useless at dealing with people and children. I get it, you don't love taking photos of kids. Guess what, no one does! But the government website recommends Australia Post for getting official photos so that's why I came. Perhaps you should just not offer this service at all. You treat children like "beep" and you don't really care about doing a good job. I wish I could say I expected more, but I should know by now to expect zero customer service and support from Australia Post. I left in tears and felt absolutely deflated that we were treated this way. I will also add that I feel like a person of a different ethnicity or skin colour would not have been treated this way - there definitely was a undertone that felt like we were not worth their time. Absolutely appalling.

Susan Enriquez is horribly incompetent. I went to try and pick up a parcel on behalf of a colleague in Brisbane and I'm initially told that I need authorisation. For every step of the process, I was told the same instructions repeatedly, even after doing what needed to be done. Finally when it was time to find the parcel, Susan's team members made an attempt to look, but all Susan did was continue to try and slow me down by asking me the same questions repeatedly. Mind you, this was in the middle of a busy work day. As if I have nothing better to do than listen to her drivel. Anyway, she goes inside to look and her team members repeatedly tell me that she's upset and to take it easy on her. I'm sorry but why am I meant to care if she's 'upset', she's got a job to do. Get on with it and stop making excuses for her. Susan finally comes out and says that they don't have it and they will call back when they find it. She also kept repeating the phrase "I'm trying to help you here", as if U was making it hard for her to do her job. Please fire Susan immediately, she's unprofessional, rude and flat out incompetent.

North Sydney Post office is the WORST post office in the state. They are incredibly slow and just watch people standing in line. There are always massive queues, which they don't seem to mind. There appears to be excess staff out the back who do not come out to serve. Seeing they are a central Post office for North Sydney business hub, one would assume that they would have more than 3 staff on!!! One guy wanders around the floor and asks if he can help people, but he asks people at the back of the queue. If he cant help anyone, rather than going behind the counter to serve, he just wanders around. Seriously North Sydney Post office, you need to get your act together. I hate going into your office as it is So disorganised. I am happy to chat with anyone in North Sydney Post office about my concerns should they like to liase with me. Thank you

Oh no, I want to start by saying that the staff at Australia Post have the best intentions, they are generally pleasant (Maybe a little complacient but overall they are of good character). In any-case compare them to other Aust Post branches and I would say that they are well below par. However this isn't the cause of my complaint. The reason being I had a parcel sent to PNG that never arrived. Luckily I had insurance that the staff convinced me get. Unluckily no-one can respond to me as to how to claim the insurance. Even when I contact Aust Post directly. In it's simplest form I paid for a service that was not fulfilled and I am unable to get a refund of cost postage or claim my insurance. Any service with Australia in their title should be fair dinkum! As Australians we all suffer from there disservice.

Went to post my wedding invitations and even though I had purchased padded mailers the lady kept insisting I send it in another envelope, one of their prepaid ones and she then proceeded to take my mailer and put all her weight on it and handle it so poorly while I was infront of her , damaging my invitations. When she could see I was distressed she kept pushing that she will go get her manager to deal with me instead of checking if I was okay and seeing what she did that upset it. She got very in my face. Honestly don’t know how they have someone like that employed there. This isn’t the first issue I have had with her trying to put items in other sleeves and folders unnecessarily. I went to another post office and they didn’t have an issue at all. She was awful! Honestly traumatised!

I received a very rude customer service today from a lady in red uniform, Not sure what's her name but she has red curly hair. She totally ignored me when I asked her for help. I didn't even get to ask her a question, I just said "excuse me" and she stopped me with the most annoyed look on her face and walked away. I thought she must be busy but I observed her for a few more minutes, she was doing nothing at all. I was shocked by the service and when I get online I found so many people had similar bad experience. To be fair i waited for a different staff to help me and that lady was very lovely. I think only a few staff there are giving the office such a bad name. Really hope the management can see these reviews and improve the standard of customer service.

The staff don't care at all. Twice I have been tried to pick up a package there, and been told it's not there. After waiting 10mins for the guy in front of me to be served, the man who served him walked away when I approached the counter. I thought he didn't see me, so I greeted him and he turned aroubd. He said I don't live in North Sydney, so my package won't be there, even if I live in Wollstonecraft. After arguing, forcing them to look at the confirmation email that says my package is there, and still arguing more, they finally decide to look out the back, and of course my package is there. Very unhelpful and unfriendly. I was 'served' by a slim elderly man with long greyish hair, who also looked extremely unprofessional as he did not wear uniform.

Frustrating! Sent me away to complete my passport application online (apparently it's quicker & easier for them to process). When I came back a heavily accented lady found every excuse not to serve me in the end saying there wasn't enough time before the store closed. It was 440! With all the wasted time finding another staff member to valid her point of view (& desire not to do any work) my application would have been lodged. A tiny bit of customer service would have made the world of difference. Come on Australia Post this is why your business is declining!!!! There is 1 very lovely lady who works here (she wears a head scarf) & she gave context when she realised my situation. Unfortunately she's not "authorised" to process passport applications.

  • B C

If you like staff lying to your face, adamant they are correct, only to be corrected by a manager, this just might be your place! Deliveries you have paid for that require you to expend additional time and effort to collect after the alleged 'delivery driver' has lied about trying to deliver? Again, this just might be the place for you! A hideous place with hideous staff that seem to want to be anywhere other than the place that employs them. I guess that's why the customer is asked to help do their job - they are either incompetent, unwilling or or too lazy. Unfortunately, none of these excuses are good enough for Australias national postal service.

I generally use this Post Office when I am working in North Sydney and its very busy during lunch times as expected. If you can go during another time or before 12 or after 2 then generally the wait is shorter. Completed 2 passport applications for myself and 3 children. Both occasions it was seamless as well as provided fantastic service. Very helpful and informative and didn't rush me. The second occasion, today, for 3 children's passports, I was helped by Rosa who was absolutely lovely, friendly and provided brilliant service. Unlike some reviews, I experienced great service and will come back. Thank you.

  • Luke B

I went there to post some Framed prints to the USA. After waiting in line for 15mins I walked up to rye counter and the lady didn’t even look at the parcels and she said”too big!!” I said I checked the Australia Post website and the measurements I entered were fine an it only weighed 3.75kg. She said no too big and walked away. They told me Pack and Send would be my only option. Fast forward to today the exact same parcel size and weight I went to Kingsgrove Post Office and they were happy to send it. Didn’t know even question it just filled out the paperwork and it was sent. Poor services and bad attitude

  • AT

Worst service ever! They used every excuse to refuse my passport photo and forced me to pay unbelievable price for a photo at their office, I turned away and used post office down on Blues Point road, and they processed my passport application without any excuse. And I received my passport later without any issue. ....This post office is not supposed to serve people at their convenience, but at its own profit by exploiting their every single possible customer! Is there any way to give no star or minus star to this post office??

  • Tva Tva

Updating the review due to further experience - The staff need to be clearly educated on the postage ,I was trying to post a A3 size birthday card and the staff member insisted that the item should be sent a parcel which is expensive.. then when I went to another counter, the staff member accepted it as a regular post and paid less .... Located in a heritage building, staff were friendly and the shop was busy during lunch time... Avoid lunch time if you can.. they also have auto stations for self-service

I am 10 years old and just this morning I was ecstatic to send a parcel under my name for the first time in a post office. At the post office, I was served by a very, very kind female staff named Shakilla who said to me this was the first time she met a boy who was sending a parcel(chocolates and some Christmas cards) to a friend. She also encouraged me and added that this was an absolutely amazing feat for me. I felt profoundly touched and happy afterwards. Thank you for brightening my day!

  • Ian Stokes

I went in today and bought 2 x 25.00 Xbox gift cards for a friend's sons birthday only to find out after the purchase btw 24 hours for activation I normally buy them from JBHIFI or 7eleven and when you purchase from them they are already loaded ready to go ibdobt want to sound impatient but on other reciets it does not say allow up to 24 hours only disappointed because he used it straight away and I got a call from my friend saying they did not work he was disappointed !

  • gg lin

Passport application is a scam! They will always force you to take passport photo with them and they will always reject photos you bring (Ones that immigration department does not have any problem with). The short heavy woman's (forgot her name) attitude was exceptionally reprehensible as she talks down to you while ripping you off although the rest of the staff are complicit.

  • jai Jai

Always very busy but the staff are helpful. I have enormous difficulty in collecting parcels from them as they are not open Saturday mornings for parcel collection. Owing to the area I work in I am unable to collect during the week. I have spoken to other people who are experiencing the same problem. I think they should look at opening Saturday mornings 9 - 12:00.

  • Cody M

Busy. They have 2 self service machines that include parcel weighing and payment. One was faulty and took 60 seconds per option - I gave up. The other worked, mostly, but rejected my payment twice. The slot to deposit parcels into was taped shut, and too small for my parcel. I had to join the queue anyway. What a colossal waste of time.

  • AC

Staff need to be educated on good customer service and how to properly answer customer questions. Sent a parcel today and not familiar with the process of it staff did not help me when I asked how long it would take to get to its location and whether I needed standard or express and now my parcel will not be arriving on time.

  • chris lin

Worst post office ever. Keep losing packages, what a so called post office if you lose and cannot delivery things. They just let me know my package is delivered and let me to find it by myself. I would like to make a complain if I can find a way to. Just keep away from this post office if you have any other choice.

  • GEE-SHOCK

Every time I go to this post office I almost always end up having to pay more than I should. Staffs are extremely unfriendly & impatient and always give you that “hey you need to PAY for THIS AND THAT” look. At least you can give some nice etiquette ?? Just making me feel really uncomfortable each time I go :(

  • Helen Di Domenico

I work in the North Sydney area. Don't visit at lunchtime. They get super busy and the queues can be quite long. If you can visit on either side of lunch, that is better and queues are more manageable. I do think they have a fairly good selection of last minute gifts if this is something you need.

  • Thomas Attieh

I've been doing business with North Sydney Australia Post for over 4 years now and I've always found them to be average however I've recently dealt with a staff member there Richard who was just so rude not only to myself but others. It's sad to see Aust Post losing the customer experience.

  • Charles Sirloin

Been coming here since I was in my 20’s and have been served by many people, Richard has been here for over 40 years and always puts a smile on your face and gives you a good laugh, the rest of the staff, I’m not so sure as they are quite rude.

  • Claire Xiao

too poor customer experience. never take passport photo there, very slow ,ineffective, poor device and place for passport application.maybe you are attracted by its building but I still suggest Please don't go this post office for anything

  • A T

Some staffs are nice and helpful but others are very rude and always angry at customers for no reason. I get yelled just for asking a simple question like how to send a package. If I had to go to post office, I’d avoid North Sydney branch

  • Kuba Jakubowski

Very busy, probably opening an hour earlier or later could resolve some of the issues. However, the facility is greatly prepared for high volume of customers - almost all windows were open and staff was friendly and efficient.

  • Dave H

I was eventually served by Shakilla after the other 4 staff saw me and decided to look like they were busy to avoid serving me. The most unhelpful customer experience I’ve ever had. Incredibly and unnecessarily slow and rude

  • Ruby Lennon

I feel like you must have gone to a different post office. While their services are high in demand, hence the occasionally longer than desired waiting times, the quality speaks for itself. Thank you Australia Post.

  • Daniel Patterson

Beautiful building. Staff are unless and rude, manager is condescending and deliberately unhelpful. The kind of person who would walk by someone having a heart attack, smugly announcing "not my problem." Avoid

  • Tony Savio

Hi Guys, I have been to this place last week, they have done everything so quickly and no rude behaviours noticed. I went in sceptical because of all the negative reviews. But they were actually very helpful.

  • Sonam Sherpa

The customer service from the lady "Pushpa" was really amazing. She was so helpful and illustrate me all the process. It was a wonderful experience for me. Thank you Pushpa and Auspost North Sydney. …

  • Sean Dai

Super busy post office but their manager Edan manage everything well. Many Thanks for your help for my unaddressed delivery lodgment and guide me the correct packing way. Edan need an Award from Auspost.

  • Angus Fotheringham

I know there are other reviews that describe bad service, but I have always had really friendly interactions with the staff here, and I have never had a problem in the services I use at this post office.

  • Amir gg

Worst post office in Sydney Regretting about my visit to this place for my daughter”s passport The old lady absolutely no professionalism Does not know how to deal with people very rude and unhelpful

  • Simon H

Good selection of stationery and all Australia Post services, including passport renewal. Service can be a little slow at times, which can add to the queue and wait time but the staff are pleasant

  • Keithhh Ierddd

I dont know why the staff for collecting parcel are rude as f. I thought that thats just one lady until i came back for another parcel and spoke to different staff shes also rude for no reason.

  • Alex

Conveniently located and many service counters available. Staffs are always informative and approachable. Line can be long during peak hours but staffs handled it very well. Thumbs up!

  • Paul Taylor

Chronically understaffed though everyone's friendly and helpful, and the self service machines need their hand held at every turn. Not the North Sydney branch's fault, but it's a pain.

  • Katelyn O'Donnell

Hands down the most unhelpful and rudest staff. Customer service is clearly not important. They won’t do anything to assist, and don’t bother to think of any solutions for

  • くさかか(くさか)

Falsely advertises an early parcel pick up window on their website which is currently closed. As I work during business hours there is no way for me to pick up my parcel.

  • William Sung

I'd give one star except the lady who served me reminded me not everyone is living their dream. However, it's not my fault she isn't living her best life. So 2 stars lol

  • himanshu arora

Worst customer service provided by staff ,deliberately making things complicated, didn't knew how to return the package. Mature lady very hypocartic and condescending.

  • Greg B

Slow. Even after lunch. Self service machine has deposit bin sealed up so you need to stand in line anyway. Who is the manager here and why is there zero urgency??

  • Iggy P

The customer service is horrible, the staff are horrendous, incredible rude and poorly educated. You also can’t understand a word they're saying. It was horrible

  • Lucy Liang

I am perplexed with the negative reviews on here. I had a very positive experience here. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and went above and beyond for me.

  • Lada Lipková

Standard post office. Sometimes nice staff (sometimes not so much). Great shop. They do documents verification (2,50$) but DO NOT offer JP services.

  • Rudy Mitra

Always had a pleasant experience, staff is courteous - not sure about the other poor ratings. Lunch time is quite busy but otherwise no complaints.

  • tatiana Romero Serrano

Gaye was so nice and friendly, she has great customer service skills, thank you so much Gaye for making my experience in AUPost a positive one!!

  • Ahmed Ghazi

The building is well maintained, the interior could have been improved as it gets abit congested but overall good experience.

  • Jan Trofimov

Staff are in no rush at all. Don't go if you need anything done quickly. Only about one or two experienced staff.

  • Daro Khiev

the lady with red curly hair was very rude towards me and she was very unprofessional for the whole conversation.

  • Ally Parker

Post man doesn't leave package notes so I don't know they are at the post office and they get returned to sender.

  • Edmund Ang

I was skeptical with the service due to the 2.5 stars reviews so I wanted to add a different perspective.

  • Bilal W

Rosa was great with my passport application. Went at 3 pm on a Friday, no queue.

  • B C

Would have to be one of the most beautiful post office building in Australia

  • Nicky Lau

Worst post office, staffs very unhelpful, have no patience and very rude.

  • DOG CAT

$15.35 cost for the registered post and I even prepaid for my envelope?
