It was the first time that I encountered similar racial discrimination here. As a foreign student, I had difficulty in indicating my mobile phone number fluently in English shortly after coming to Australia. On the contrary, I may sometimes mentally think in my native language before I give out my cell phone number, but when I think about it, the manager here seems very dissatisfied and very mean, telling me, "Look, you can't remember your cell phone number," and the staff around me seem to think I'm ridiculous. Maybe he took a pen and asked me to write down my phone number. He wouldn't have said anything like that. I usually keep important things in my phone. When I took out my phone and tried to tell her my correct number, she told me that she couldn't give me the package. It's true that I didn't put the same name on my passport when I bought the package and I don't blame them because it's my problem but as a service industry please don't be very mean to your customers. Or is that how you treat people who don't speak English well. I even want to take some other evidence that they told me without looking: only the manager has the final say. I don't feel like I get enough respect here. The first time I've been so disappointed... Is there a minus ten star to hit?
If I could give zero stars I would. I’ve been an unfortunate patron of this post office for over 3 years now and to say the service is bad would be the understatement of the century. Not only is it a prerequisite for staff to have a general disdain for the population but they also refuse to listen or offer solutions to general enquiries or problems that fall completely within their job description. I cannot count the number of times I’ve waited upwards of 20 minutes to be served no matter what time of day it is only to see 3 people completing a task that could easily be done by one staff member. They have multiple times refused to except return parcels despite my having the required parcel barcode and have also refused to take them after I’d contacted customer support who then called the shop to make it clear they did in fact need to accept my parcel. The way they speak to and treat customers is truly appalling and the amount of times I’ve experienced multiple staff be condescending not just to me but to other members of the community is disgusting. 0/5 don’t recommend.
Terrible, very terrible. I don’t even want to give them 1 star. On March 16, I registered my bank card and tax file number. I thought post office would be the best place to send to as I am doing working holiday, I would move places to places. However, till April 4, I still haven’t received my mails despite I checked it everyday after I registered. I checked with bank and ATO, they said my mail were delivered on March 20 and March 17. So I went back and checked again, they still said nothing delivered. On April 5, I went again. Wow “amazingly ”, my mails appear. They did no explaining. After I left, I noticed there’s information on my mail with stamps. They were actually delivered on March 22 and March 28. So I went back, they said they just made mistakes, accidentally put my mail to parcels area. But I asked, why two mails happened the same situation? Twice! Twice! They just said, yeah, they did it wrong. And the attitude is like “so what?” I am really disappointed about this post office. I don’t even want to trust them anymore.
If you intend to visit this post office during peak times you will find yourself in a massive queue, snaking cartoonishly out of the door into the carpark. 20 minutes standing in uncomfortable proximity with a group of people whose only connection is poor time management and online shopping is a recipe for an existential crisis. Admittedly, I'm not a queue person. I would probably line up for bottled water in the aftermath of a natural disaster, but I'd have to think about it. That said, having to queue with people from West End is a special kind of additional soul crushing punishment. The wet, suffocating heat of a Brisbane summer accompanied by the smell of rancid incense emanating from a nearby business/converted Queenslander peddling magic crystals. Actual people, selling actual people magic rocks. Imagine the absolute state of a suburb where this is a viable business model. Concerning, to say the least.
Isaac, the manager, could do with further training in customer service. His behaviour is consistently rude, abrupt, and extremely unhelpful. After waiting over 30 minutes after work, during the peak Christmas period, for a parcel that was overdue and required no ID upon collection, Isaac refused to hand over the parcel without viewing ID. ID was then provided via the AusPost App which Isaac refused to accept. An offer was made to use the PO Box key to open the personal PO Box to prove ID, which Isaac still refused. The parcel was vet-prescribed food and, due to the delivery being overdue, it was very much a necessity. Being unable to collect the parcel resulted in the loss of time and money in sourcing alternative food. The parcel was collected a few days later and no ID was required.
In summary, hire more staff on a Saturday. Only open for outside standard work hours pick up on a Saturday morning and generally only one staff member on for parcel pickup at this time. The queue is often 30min+ in the hot sun. Staff regularly deny they have parcels which I have found after escalating several times they do have. I have also had them assign things I ordered for my wedding into a parcel locker owned by someone else. It has been nearly 3 years of covid, increased parcel volumes and Christmas is not an excuse. Please extend your hours, hire more staff or find another way to shorten the wait times. It's not good enough and your staff understandably get flustered and impatient customers as a result.
Excellent service, I started an online business and team helped me with the shipping and other details. The new manager is very efficient and knowledgeable and he helps everyone. His team is also good. He tries his level best to do quick service, but most people coming to post office are old people or other nationalities who are not sure about many procedures to send letters, parcel or passport. So the team takes time to make sure they do proper service and helps them. That’s the reason for delay.More people come to post office , but the post office is too small to accommodate everyone’s needs, there should be more counters / staff so the work can be processed on time.
Not happy with this Australia Post shop at all. I sent an urgent package to my customer, to their PO Box at this centre. The customer supplied an inaccurate PO Box number. But rather than ring me - the sender, to query, the Australia Post staff simply returned it to me, and lied to the customer when they went to collect the package this morning. The staff said that there were no names on the package - a complete lie. So now my customer has to wait another week, or more - for their URGENT and expensive wedding stationery to be delivered all over again. Extremely poor, service. Zero stars for not even trying - and lying!!!
I have no idea what is wrong with you guys. You guys have left $2800 of phone outside in the mail box and took back $10 of small package to the post office, left paper haha I always requested leave it in front of door or in the garage if it is not too pricey but you just put the paper in the mail box even if I was in home. I’m just wondering if you guys bring my packages with you or just only paper for evidence you attempt to visit. I might need to set CCTV to check you visited with my package or not lol Even today, I found the paper on the wall next to the stairs seems like you couldn’t find my place.
Auspost delivery again : This is not the first time it’s being posted on here . What’s the point of delivery if everytime I have to come and pick up at the post office ? Been home all day waiting for the parcel only to be notified via apps there’s no safe place to leave the parcel . The other time , the postie just banging on my door like he wanted to break in in the house . So rude . Please postie , if you don’t wanna do your job just resign . On other side the staffs in the post office are amazing . I’m just having issue with the postie and delivery
Excellent service inside from Tracey with a complex international package that had been returned without successful delivery from abroad. Tracey went above and beyond with understanding and assisting in the next step, with patience and giving significant time and focus to all paperwork, with her going over her break time to finish the job. Lucky to have encountered her today. Where it didn't seem possible to sort it out with one visit, we actually did in one go without me having to go away and return. Big appreciation.
Auspost delivery. Have been home all day. Apparently no safe place to leave parcel message as per app. Not even a sorry we missed you card in the mailbox. Read to lazy to get out of the truck. Why even bother wasting time loading it onto the van and then unloading it again. Just say pick it up from Post Office and then have the audacity to charge a premium price. Feel sorry for the Post Office workers who have to bear the rants of angry customers because of delivery drovers that cannot or don’t want to do their job.
Received a missed delivery note on a Saturday and was told to pick it up from 8am the following Monday. I go to the post office Monday lunch time and the staff don't have my parcel, because the driver never gave it to them. They don't know if the driver is going to bring it back or attempt another delivery. My parcel could be anywhere, and now I'm waiting is a massive line to check for the 3rd time this afternoon if it's arrived at the post office yet, 6 hours after the time on the note I received told me it would!
Always friendly & extremely helpful. I use the parcel lockers for all my online purchases, it’s so handy, easy to use & accessible 24/7. This post shop is always busy, & the carpark is often full, so the lockers mean I have more control over collection times as I’m not restricted to the stated opening hours. There are actually two locker stations, marked #1 & #2. Make sure you read your Aust Post txt alert carefully, as it will actually tell you which locker to use.
Just leave the parcel in the mail room! Every time, they just leave a paper and I have to waste one hour to get to the post office and wait in the queue. EVERY. TIME. My building has a secure mail room with video cameras. It's safe! Stop wasting my time! Sometimes, they don't even bother calling me or ringing my unit. I will be at home all day, then receive a notification that nobody was home and they send the parcel back to the post office. It's ridiculous!
Home all day waiting for my parcel only to be told it’s now at the post office, not even in the locked box. No one even rang the buzzer!! Why don’t you use the parcel lockers? Working full time makes it very difficult to collect anything from west end post office where parking is terrible and the queues on Saturday morning are a nightmare. Please use the parcel lockers so at least we can collect anytime!!!
A very busy inner city post office with little to no parking and there is always a huge queue, often going out the door. Very poorly planned considering one of the best post offices in Brisbane, also in the same suburb and was closed down. I can’t imagine that there would be any West End resident that doesn’t harbour a sense of dread when they find the "parcel slip" tucked in their door.
Had a fantastic experience with this Post Shop today. Khaled and the other dude were extremely helpful. It was my first time posting a big parcel. The whole process was chill. They were patient and kind. They guided me through an app download, registration of a new account and keyed in the coupon code. 10/10 top service!
Why is the service so bad here? Unfortunately I’ve had a high value express parcel transit through this post office which has resulted in a 2+ week delay due to constant mishandling. No updates provided through the AusPost tracking system so I fear it has now been lost or stolen by one of the staff. Unbelievable.
Poor service. Had a reception on site for a delivery entire day until 1 am and they didn't deliver it. Received a pick up slip what a joke. Do your job Australia Post. Lady at click and collect unhelpful and unpleasant to deal with. Lack of care and empathy. Don't rely on Australia Post is the basic message.
Came in to ship my first parcel overseas. I had a lovely young lady serving me, named Tarni. Her customer service was excellent, she helped me into creating my business account, she explained me in detail how everything works and her gentle approach made my experience very easy and smooth! Thank You Tarni!!
They didn't attempt deliver but just left the card. We opened the front door fully so that the delivery person could see we were at home, but the person obviously didn't care. I know that a lot of people have reported the same problems to the Australian Post, but the problems haven't be fixed. Very sad.
The staff are always friendly and helpful here but oh my gosh how can there almost always be a line out the door!? Even at off-peak times… Something isn’t right here. Also AVOID driving there as there is almost always no parking available and the parking lot is very small, usually congested.
Every time I come here there’s a massive line. Maybe it’s the system that’s the problem, but the staff don’t seem to be in a rush either. Agree on super strict. Last time they wouldn’t take my authorisation to collect unless it was printed and they didn’t offer to print it for me.
They've always been good to me. 1 minute there's no one then next minute there's a que. That's life. It's the luck of the draw. There's too many complainers about trivial things here. Could they improve? Yes, of course they could, as millions of other businesses could. …
Overall a great post office. Very strict on ID for parcel collect, which is a good thing but also not so good if you can't provide more than a few photos. Do recommend
Remember to take the physical ID! Wait for more than 40mins and then told me cannot accept the ID photos. Prepare for more than 1 hour for the line!
Not too much parking if your driving only reason for the 4 and not 5 the staff at this one are very helpful perfect if you walk and not drive
Busiest post office you’ll ever find. There’s literally always a queue of at least 10 people. West end needs a second post office.
No review required, everyone is well aware of Australia Post's incompetence.
