Put up with the stand offish and rude staff for a fair few months as they often stocked books and other things I needed, but when they accused my daughter of shop-lifting and went through her bag in front of several other customers I vowed 'never again'. She'd never, ever do anything like that and couldn't believe that a) it was happening to her and b) they treated her in such an appalling manner despite finding, – guess what  – nothing whatsoever. I'm sure shoplifting is a real problem for their store and plenty of others, but you don't do that to customers who have done nothing wrong. Terrible attitude, no manners, I will not darken the door and in my strictly personal opinion neither should you.

It is good to see that a local book store has survived this challenging period ...but our last few visits to Book Barn have been so disappointing. We have tried to make friendly conversation at the till point but each time have been met with a sullen, almost unfriendly attitude by the person serving. If you are getting business right now surely a smile and a few friendly words aren't too much to expect???

We absolutely adore this bookstore! If we go to the movies, it's a must visit before or after. There have been times they haven't had the book I was after, but have been so helpful with ordering it in for me. I have enjoyed spirited discussion about books and authors with the owners on occasion, and love that you get a completely different experience to the usual shopping centre chain stores.

Always love coming here. They are open quite late some nights so can be a good option for an after work treat. A great selection of art supplies and some really great books. Quite often I'll find a few I've been 'chasing' marked down super cheap in the shelves. I used to be local for many years, but now I've had to move further away, I still try and get here when I can. Love this shop. :)

I ordered a book for a family member's birthday. Emma from Belgrave Book Barn rang me up as I had requested it to be delivered by the special day. They were concerned that this may not be possible as they were dependant on Australia Post. She also said they would not include the invoice in the package. Such great service and professionalism rarely found but highly valued.

I have been coming to the bookbarn since I was a young teen and love the opportunity to browse through the range of different books on offer. Despite being in lockdown so much over the past year I have still been able to order in upcoming books from some of my favourite authors and keep my collection growing. Greatful to have such a lovely bookshop so local to the hills!

I love this store and I especially love that I don't have to travel 'off the mountain' to buy a book. I visit this store a few times each year to buy gifts for my fellow book loving family members. If I need a recommendation, I find the staff very helpful and knowledgeable . I also love that I can buy my two kids a small present to keep them happy while I'm browsing.

Incredible selection of high quality children's educational books. This is my go-to place for gorgeously illustrated picture books on dinosaurs, mushrooms, skeletons and all sorts of other things. So far all kids have loved their gifts! Also a great selection of beautiful cards and paper, so the whole present-buying experience is taken care of. I love this shop!

A beautiful little jewel in our beloved Hills. A great range of kids books, religious and spirituality books and the store is laid out in a manner that is easy to navigate. The ladies working here have always been super friendly to me and I love that they leave you alone to browse but if you need assistance they help you straight away.

I love having this book shop in Belgrave and my kids know that on special occasions or when we feel like rewarding them, we'll take them on a visit to the Book Barn so they can choose a book. Great selection of arts supplies and really helpful staff. Staff always give us excellent reading suggestions for my children when we ask.

Myself and my girls absolutely love the book barn. I've been going to book barn for 16years, being a local. I have always found the shop welcoming, kid friendly and clean. I love the shop being open late at night, its that extra bonus when waiting for take away orders having a browse. Keep up the fantastic work. :)

Friendly staff who I feel recognise us when we drop by. My kids and I have ordered in books over the years and the staff at this store have always been glad to help us find what we're in search of if its not in stock. Most of our gifts for local kids birthday parties have come from the Book Barn!

So glad to have this bookstore in my local area. The kids section is HUGE and if I can't find what I'm looking for the friendly and helpful staff will order it in. They also have a really great art section and are reasonably priced. I even spotted a celebrity when I was there last!

This store feels like it was conceived as a treat for local artists, crafters, and creative types. We all know that going off the mountain is simply too much effort, so being able to pick up Yupo paper locally? FanTASTIC!

Fantastic book shop and art shop. The imagination runs wild with lots of ideas to be creative. My daughter and I bought a puzzle to spend time together on the weekend.
