Can’t believe I didn’t find this place sooner! Unbelievable (and personalised) service, super quick and delicious food, honestly beside myself that me and my partner only discovered this place last year! We couldn’t imagine getting our Sunday feasts from anywhere else along the peninsula. It’s unfortunate that Google only allows for a 5 star rating, because this place goes above and beyond the typical 5 stars for their customers as we feel so valued as returning customers each time! I personally couldn’t recommend this place anymore than I can. The owner especially is such an amazing guy, the small things such as asking how our day is and bringing up our conversations from the previous pick up and following up with us makes us feel so valued. We appreciate it so much.

They have been providing for my familys friday night pizza and drinks for years. Decided to leave a comment tonight as I feel like the service with the current owner is 10/10. He has cemented his place as a local, providing for locals! About the pizzas, they do not feel and taste super oily, the base sauce is not bitter and been sitting there for hours, the toppings are actually fresh and crunchy, the crusts choices are great and lastly for the perfect pizza, the cheese.. a perfect amount and great taste! If your looking for pizza to put s smile on your family and friends, come down and enjoy the pizza guys. You will not regret! 10/10

I ordered the pork ribs. It was a pick up. Well when we opened the tray it didn’t look like ribs, it looked like off cuts. Anyway tried eating it, I couldn’t even get a knife through it. I was like rubber. Called them up, they were reluctant to exchange but they did, saying they’ll be better, and they’ll even give us free chips. Got them home, and they were exactly the same. And the chips were inedible, some were okay, but the majority were old cooked ones that they tried to refry. Disgusting. Called them again, the response, that’s how our ribs are. The girl said, well sorry, but what can I do? I said I’d like my money back. She said I’ll have to ask my boss. After waiting what felt like ten minutes, she said okay. The poor girl was left at the counter alone, while the “men” hid at the back sniggering. Handed over the money, stupidly I didn’t check it until I got home, $6 short. I’ve bought pizzas from there before, and they’ve been great, but DO NOT ORDER RIBS! In the end, I didn’t feel like eating anymore.

Was in a rush to get a pizza, so I googled the first one in Skye. Any way after forcing my self through the third bit, all I could think about was "this is the worst pizza I've had in years" my house mate even said "ohh you went to them, they're not that good" Alright so the bits of capsicum are about the size of the pizza it's self, like c'mon. It looks like they have just thrown the scraps of whatever they had left, together but in a hurry. There is not enough cheese. Moving forward, spend more time making the pizza Quality! Or take pride in your work. Hopefully you learn from this and spend a bit more time making it. You quoted me "10mins it will be ready" that in its self is a huge red flag" but I was hungry I will admit. If I was doing something wrong I would want to know what the issue was. So I figured I'd give you guys that opportunity as well. Hopefully this Helps you guys out.

Rude staff. Online platform was down so I called the store to advise and ordered over the phone. Walked in to pay and rude lady said cash as I had ordered online. I said I don't have cash and was told ..you ordered online and there is a sign there that says cash. I said your online platform was down it's not my fault hence why I called to place the order. I paid using my card and was abruptly told make sure you have cash next time and she shook her head and rolled her eyes. Next time make sure your online service is working and a simple apology and offer to pay by card would have been a nicer approach. If I walk in off the street and order I can pay by card. If you don't like helping people you shouldn't be working with the public. You are a rude and arrogant person at carrum downs and we won't be back.

Zero stars for service. Thought I’d go direct and order online for delivery and they completely messed up my order with the delivery driver, where he didn’t know what house to go to and was floundering about God knows where calling me to come outside, then when I go out he wasn’t there. I call him back and tell him my address and he says he’s on his way. I stand in the freezing cold for 10 minutes waiting but still no show. I call the business and speak to who I presume was the manager, and all I get is “I’ll call him to ask where he is” then hangs up on me. Then he made an innocent worker call to tell me my food was on the way. That’s it. No apologies for their mistake or inconvenience or anything. Disgusting customer service. Never coming back.

NO HYGIENE! Very disappointing as pizzas taste nice however multiple times of incorrect orders without much apology later Wednesday 19th April we had picked up part of incorrect order, medium gluten free was given to us and noticed when we got home, so we returned it to wait for correct to be made while others at home were getting cold. The interesting part of it all is that when we returned the wrong pizza it was given to the waiting driver to send off. Correct customer would have received a cold pizza that had been incorrectly delivered prior so where is the quality control? Not that we did anything to the pizza but no more pizza from here for me unless ALL STAFF involved is replaced. No excuses for this, where is the hygiene?

Outstanding quality pizza with fresh, vibrant ingredients and generous serving sizes. Fresh quality ingredients bring that refreshing crunch from the vegetables, punch from the garlic/herbs and an overall vibrant appearance to the pizza. The pizza I’d experienced was well cooked with a great crust and toppings that’d not been dehydrated by too long in the oven. Cheese coverage was generous without being overpowering to the other flavours. Delivery was by a polite, friendly woman with each food item handles with care and a genuine greeting offered. A contender for top pizza in the local area for sure, I’ll be returning over the coming months to really test them out!

Ordered for delivery at 6:30. Got to 8pm and well called again. They told us the delivery driver had just left and was 10 minutes away. (It’s a 2 minutes drive) 20 minutes later, as were about to call again, the driver shows up. We say nothing to him about our problem. Pay him, “keep the change” blah blah, as we’re about to close the door, we call him back. The pizza boxes are crawling with ants. Driver says he’ll get new pizzas to us ASAP. We say don’t bother. Give him back the bug pizzas, take back our money. Off to hungry jacks we go. If I could give zero stars I would. What the hell.

Ordered pizza and spaghetti last night. The pizza wasn’t even cooked properly, the cheese melted on top was like rubber! The pasta was Spaghetti Bolognese which tasted like spaghetti from a tin. My 9 yr old could have made it better. My partner went back to complain and the lady rolled her eyes at him and said oh there’s a new guy making pizza. My partner said this had happened the last three times I’ve been here. The woman said you can’t have your money back but I’ll give you a credit and pulled out a large credit book. He didn’t take the credit and walked out. We will never be going back there again!!

So sad to have to change our review of Big Al's. This was our go to pizza store. But I think it's time to swap, sorry. They've changed the menu, taking things off.. and that's not really going to be well received from the regulars. They've taken off the Chicken Boscialo pasta, They've taken off the meal deal that gets you a garlic pizza instead of the bread roll. I think they've changed their salami, I don't know but it just doesn't taste as good anymore.. which is sad. Upped their prices and No More free deliveries. Going to try some other local places now, see if they're any good.

Big Al's carrum downs are the best pizza and fish and chips shop i have ever been to from placing order to eating the food it is always very fresh food very well cooked and taste beautiful and above board from the time i place my order to the the time I get my food and eat it is always 100% plus you just can't beat this shop you can't go past this store you can't get past it so if you want top quality food that tastes so beautiful Do you self a favour and get some food from this shop and you will understand why i say what i do once you order and eat there food.

Pizzas and pastas are always delicious everytime we order for our Friday night feed. They’ve been under new management for a while now and can not fault their customer service. Keep it up!

Customer service is very poor. Ordered online and went down for the time their 'live' timer is on for. Got told 8 mins till it will be ready, stood there for 25 mins before going back up and they grabbed off the top of the oven. It was cold by the time I actually go it somehow. Great Pizza. You get what you pay for! These average 8 to 10$ and they have heaps of toppings! Compared to the cheaper options in the area at 6ish $ Big Al's is significantly better! Have had the same delivery guy and he's great. Fast, hot food and he's polite. Buy/call them directly as it's cheaper than menulog or Uber etc. Plus more of the profits go to this local business. I've had delivered pizza and it's been very exceptional. Though the other week I went to dine in and the meat lovers wasn't as good as when it was delivered. Not too sure if they were a bit off the mark that night because one of the ladies working there took a man outside to blast him - respect for not doing it in front of us customers inside but we still experienced the gist of it. Ah we all have those days I guess - I still give ya 5 of ya generic pizza boxes out of five. Rock on Big Al's!

I normally am a fan of big al pizza but last night i was very dissapointed ,i ordered a big al special and i was told to pick it up in 10 minutes which I thaught it was a bit too soon .Anyway I picked it up in 10 minutes and on getting home I found it to be low standard ,it looked as if it was 're heated ,the base tasted stale and rubbery and the cheese was also like rubber not nice and soft as usuall.It was also not very hot at all .It definetly didn't taste like a fresh pizza .

After years of making the best pizzas in Carrum Downs and the surrounding area, the days of being able to get a great tasting pizza with generous toppings have gone. Our last pizza has been disappointing enough to deter us from ever buying pizza from there again. Salty, oily, soggy thin base with fewer toppings in less quantity than the previous menu. Such an absolute shame that the standards have dropped so drastically. Goodbye Big Al's. It was great while it lasted.

I've been eating this stores pizzas for years now and they never dissapoint. The pizza arrives hot and timely in it arrival. Toppings are always fresh and not light unlike other pizzas in this catchment area. *special thanks to the regular delivery guy who's always polite and friendly. Well done you guys, it's hard to stay consistent and you're definitely doing that.

Used to be very good but gone downhill. Recently ordered as a group on numerous occasions, last accidentally. Mistake it was again. Parma had nothing but cheese and was repulsive, also cold. Like previously all pizzas were bland, no sauce, overloaded with poor quality ham and soggy "just cooked". More ham than anything else. Literally inedible. Extremely disappointed as I was a regular fan, also in that I let down a group of people saying how good they "were"!

9/7/22. Never again will we buy from here or Belvedere again. Staff don't know what extra jalapenos, anchovies and olives are. This has happened too many times. Paying extra for zilch. We've been patient over the last couple of years with hits and misses and now no more. 10 months ago. Pizza ordered at 6.35pm and told 45 minutes. Delivered 8.15pm. NOT good enough! Lift your game! Obviously you're not doing it tough or you'd care about your delivery times.

Menu options have changed, more money less food. Toppings are not like they used to be and may as well just sell the base so I can add my own. Delivery driver also took my food on a wee tour around the neighbourhood and ended up with cold food. Meat balls tasted like sweaty ball sacks and hopefully I don’t get food poisoning from it. Not even worth the 1 star. Absolutely shocking customer service. Waited almost 2 hours for delivery, was told 30 min on the phone. When I called the first time to follow up I got told I should have been told it would be an hour wait, when I called the second time asking to speak to a manager I basically got told I couldn't speak to a manager n the shop is very busy, and that's just how it is. Ordered 4 pizzas plus extras. Order took way longer to arrive than advised. When it finally arrived, one pizza was missing, one other had toppings that we clearly asked to remove - everything was barely warm. When I called the store, Briana initially blamed Uber, then conceded that they had not even made the missing pizza. I asked what they were going to do and was told they would send the missing pizza 'when they can'. Worst service ever

I ordered a Ceasar salad last night from here to be delivered and i was glad i did coz it was BLOODY BEAUTIFUL. It was the best ceaser salad ive ever had. Plenty of bacon through it and plenty of ceaser salad sauce throughout the hole lot and it was nice and fresh and a perfect size serving. So if your after a ceaser salad get it from here you will be bloody glad you did like i was. Ill be back for another one believe me.

Pizza was great, however their pastas was the bomb. We ordered their carbonara and Tuscana. It was creamy and flavourful. Just cook to perfection. On top of that, we were given drinks for free. Excellent service, even though they replace our wings for ribs which was better value for us. Thank you. will be back for sure!

Big Al's was recommended to me by a freind and i wasn't dissapointed! Lovely pizza with really fresh ingredients, and one of the best lasagna dishes i have ever had as takeaway. Delivery was prompt and the driver freindly. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Now my go to pasta shop no doubt.

After ordering my food I call up an hour later asking where my delivery is and then tell me its on its way, 40mins later no food , I call back and they tell me its on its way, and then they say hold on, there was a mixup we will make it now and deliver it you, 2 hours later still waiting. Another good local pizza shop bites the dust since changing owners. The complete lack of organisation of the new owners is frightening. The pizzas are still servicable but wait times have got ridiculous and the website tells you its ready only for you to get to the shop and they havent even started making it yet. Im happy to wait at home, i dont want to sit in your shop so dont tell me its ready when its not.

Ordered delivery for the very first time and it was super hot and delicious! We love Big Al's and have always believed they are the best in the area (as well as their Seaford store, which we have bought from for over 20 years) but tonight's pizza was something else as it was over and above in quality! It was super juicy and full of fresh ingredients. Well done everyone, keep up the good work.

Ordered a bbq meat lover's, nice thick topping good crust just lacked taste, think they just waved the sauce over it not impressed. Garlic bread soft. My wife ordered the garlic prawns with Italian salad and chips, we got no salad soggy chips and something that looked like prawns and rice in a goo and tasted....... oops sorry there was no taste. Save your money.

Great Pizza, however it is way to hard to order over the phone - as they have the worst phones, I was called Taylor, Caitlyn and Thomas before I eventually hung up and ordered online as it was easier! Phone staff can be a bit rude as well... Only issue with online ordering is the surcharge, but rather pay that than have to deal with staff and their phones!!

We have had there pizzas many times, always good, although slightly expensive. They made a mistake on a delivery today, I gave them a quick call and they had a new pizza out here within 20min. Absolutely fantastic service!

Accepted our order on EatNow, had to wait 20 mins to get a VERY rude call from the store saying that he wouldn’t deliver to us because we’re too far away, when he accepted our order? Said it was fine to deliver to Frankston but not Frankston South? When the drive is an extra three minutes. Disappointed. Now having to wait more time for dinner.

Absolutely a disaster. We use to love this place, what the hell happened. Ordered a pizza for myself and kids. Both were the wrong pizza. They made new ones, again wrong. Absolutely disgusting and a waste of money. Ordered schnitz last week, got raw chicken, chips soggy and no salt. Ordered again last night, 3 x schnitz were burnt to a crisp. Unfortunately I fed it to my dog and he vomitted, so thanks for that experience. DISGUSTING and menu is now in the bin where it belongs.

This place use to be amazing but it seems to be under new ownership/management and has gone down hill dramatically. Food takes over 1.5hrs for delivery and pick up isn't much better. Every time you call for an update they tell you it's just left, then 30mins later you call again and it's the same excuse.

Wouldn’t return. Bought pizzas and garlic prawns. One of the pizzas was incorrect, the boxes were full of oil, the rice of the garlic prawns was undercooked. Clearly new management or cooks. It used to be so good, not anymore.

The pizza dough smelt acidity And wasn't very enjoyable. I ate 3 pieces and I just couldn't eat any more. I used to work in a pizza shop and more than likely the pizza dough was prepared a couple of days ago. I was really looking forward to a nice pizza big big Als just didn't do it for me.

Average pizza. Wasn't bad, wasn't great. Adequate pizza if you've been out drinking and need a feed and will eat anything. Not the sort of tasty pizza one would expect from a place that specialises in it. Pizza isn't gourmet, but it should be flavoursome at a bare minimum. Can't recommend.

Actually the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Chips were soggy, fish was disgusting as well as the oil it was cooked in and the dim Sims and potato cakes were abysmal to say it lightly. I can't talk for the pizza or pasta but the fish and chips are not a recommendation disappointingly

Have been eating and enjoying Big Al’s Pizza for years and have rated them highly but our last two orders have been almost uneatable. Overcooked stale burnt crusts and cheese like rubber and to top it off a price increase. What the hell has happened. Time to find another Pizza Shop.

I am absolutely disgusted with them. I ordered 2 pizzas, paid for it and i never got them. I was told 40 minutes, didnt arrive. Waited an hour, didnt arrive. The delivery driver never called me. I called the shop and i got no answer. Never ordering pizzas from here again.

Since new owners the pizza is so oily I barely can eat it and the flavour just isn’t there anymore. It’s almost like it’s missing that pizza shop taste and you could make better pizza at home than what they serve. Used to be my favourite so very disappointing

This pizza joint is by far the best on the peninsula and always delivers the very best and tonight was no exception who ever made our pizzas tonight smashed it out of the park Aussie with mushroom, vegetarian and volcano with ham best pizza ever well done.

Bought a gluten free ham & pineapple pizza. The base was thick, undercooked, and like a white-bread-potatocake-mash. The toppings were skimpy too. Cheese barely stretched across the middle of the pizza. Not worth the price, at all. Won’t order here again.

A great all round pizza shop, only the waiting time is abit slow... but the pizza it absolutely amazing perfect and cooked to perfection.. hopefully the can keep doing it .....

My Wife got food poisoning after she ate meat pizza from Big ALs. I hope you make sure that you prepare uncontaminated food! It's all done but i make it sure that the others don't experience what my wife had to deal with. We end up calling ambulance!

Family ordered 3 large pizzas last night, they were returned as the bases were doughy and undercooked, we received replacement pizzas however they were overcooked, dry and yuk. Most were uneaten, Waste of money and food will try elsewhere next time.

Bland pizza, bad quality, I've seen the owner buying things in coles, too much salsa in nachos and soggy, not so good, plus buy the Kiev balls from coles and cook them yourself unbelievable he just buys stuff from coles and sells them for more

Hands Down the BEST Pizza's in Carrum Downs / Frankston!! Prompt delivery each time we ordered from these guys and pizzas have always been marvelous. Highly recommend these guys for their fresh ingredients on there pizza bases. Simply Yum!

Good pizza, fast service, generous portion sizes and toppings. Ordered online and delivered before the estimated time. Delivery person today was very friendly and efficient. The pizzas were pretty good (BBQ Chicken, Marinara and Garlic).

I ordered the seafood basket and had it delivered, the food was disgusting, seafodd had to have been frozen and defrosted multiple times, calamari was like leather fish tasted and smelled old, prawns had absolutely no flavour and chips

Pretty good pizzas and fast service. Never had a problem with ordering online can get very busy and parking can be a hassle with the gym nearby and other shops (Not there fault) Much better than Pizza fellas and Dominos in Carrum Downs

Absolutely amazing service and food was delicious!! We pre-ordered for our sons birthday and the delivery driver was right on time. The jumbo pizzas were a massive hit. Thanks again :)

Was happy with pizza but was glad to see my pizza made by gloved staff Unlike the older lady who came in the shop just after finishing her cigarette then took her jacket off and then started making pizzas without washing her hands

I am always willing to give new owners of a business a go. I am so glad I did. Big Al's is now one of my favourite pizza places. They have an excellent range for all my family.

Flavourless very undercooked pizza. Seriously. I could spread out the dough in my hands, and somehow with every topping and it was the blandest pizza I've ever had. Ordered pizza 3 hours in advance. Was Still late too.. Crazy!

I know the shop has changed hands recently, we had pizza 2 weeks ago and it was pretty average (possible teething problems). BUT...ordered again last night, and the pizza and pasta was delicious...spot on, we loved it!

The pizza was amazing when it first opened, the quality has since gone down a little but its still the best pizza place I've ordered from. Unless im trying someplace new I always order from here. Best pizza in the area

I wish i had looked at the reviews before ordering yesterday... the pizza is rubbish. The Mr T should have chilli on it... this was bland and oily, all tye pizzas we got were rubbish. Never to return to this place

The toppings were very generous almost too much and unfortunately, although we asked for a thin base it was thick. The base was inconsistent the edges thin the middle a inch thick and undercooked. Haven’t returned

Ordered an Aussie pizza and the one man serving in the pizza area was clearly overwhelmed by the amount of orders and rushing them. Pizza tasted bad and was soggy in the center won't order pizza from here again.

Had the Nutella pizza with another pizza and it’s an absolute disaster, a waste of money, just a pizza base with burnt chocolate topping on it, nothing else!! Do not recommend at all! We were very disappointed.

There is a change of management I think, pizza don't have any topping these days. I ordered a beef n onion. This is more like a cheese and onion. Prices have gone up too. No more pizza from here.
