"We have been going there for about 13 years and love it so much! This passed weekend was not pleasant though as there were a lot of criminal characters there (spotters and older children bullying our children, taking away their things and not giving it back) and a lot of youngsters not caring about those around them, shouting, swearing, throwing things around and using certain substances"
"Great place to surf, kite surf, stand up paddle board or get lessons on any of them"
"A wide variety of restaurants to choose from with a view of table mountain"
"Beautiful safe place"
Big Bay has a magical view of Cape Town, especially when the kite-surfers are out in full force and the large container liners are jotted on the ocean in the background. The mall is an interesting mix of eateries and day-to-day shopping, with a mostly open plan setting. It is a great place to start an excellent walk towards Dolphin Beach and back, as the beaches and view is truly spectacular. It is worth a visit as the combination of a beautiful view of Cape Town and cocktails or smoothies are ideal.

Great place to surf, kite surf, stand up paddle board or get lessons on any of them. Lots of options for hiring equipment at reasonable prices as well if you are traveling so no need to lug your gear around with you. Many food options available too, so if you want to grab a beer or cocktail then you can or just want to pop into Pick n Pay for a quick pie and coke then you can do that too. Free parking too.
A wide variety of restaurants to choose from with a view of table mountain. They recently added a pharmacy to the centre which comes in handy. There is a Pnp and stores in the mall section, if you want to grab refreshments while sitting on the communal grass patch or the beach. Great for morning runs or evening walks.

Beautiful safe place. Went to do a parkrun (on the beach) which was well organised and the volunteers were freindly and helpful. Lots of people were out walking the dogs and participating in various water sports. More importantly, the beach was clean. There are number of restaurants facing the sea.

Amazing place to enjoy the views of table Mountain from a distance and awesome photo opportunities. Wide beach with enough space, perfect for relaxing or taking long beach walks. Diverse selection of shops including a grocery store. Lots of different restaurants and coffee shops. Clean and free public ablution facilities. Free parking and paid parking facilities.
Variety of restaurants, some with live music. Great views over the bay, Robin Island clearly visible on most days. Levels of service (waitrons) can be upped a bit. They tend to be too relaxed with little urgency to satisfy patrons of visitors.

One of the best kept secrets in the Cape. 1. Great beach with grassy area for picnics. 2. Dog friendly. 3. Safe place to swim and surf/SUP with life guards on duty. 4. Many restaurants to choose from and a shopping centre all within walking distance. 5. Ample above ground parking. P.s. The underground parking is free!
Very relaxing, my favourite little get a way place. You completely engulfed in nature and all its beauty. The view of table mountain and the ocean leaves me breathless everytime. Meditation happens almost instantly. My son loves it plus my dog is quite an attraction as well. Yes it's dog friendly too. #instalove
A truly stunning evening on the beach, the sunsets were certainly delivered and the wind stayed light. Some braved the chilly water with surfboards but most ambled along the flat beach and enjoyed the typical Cape view.

Clean beach with plenty of gentle shallow water where you can safely learn to surf. Great for kite surfing between Nov and Feb. Plenty of food and coffee shops to choose from. Small market running on weekends where you can find many Nick nacks Loads of parking too
Wow! Another stunning lookout point in the Cape! There are a few restaurants in the area that you should try out and enjoy. There's a park, outdoor free gym and a running track along the beach. Not to mention you can swim and surf safely with a lifeguard on duty!
Such a wonderful beach. A privilege to enjoy this perfect view. Taking memorable pictures here is a must. Put out a few hours and enjoy the view, the beach and a meal at one of the many excellent restaurants!

Great place to grab a bite with the Family. You have a clear view of Table Mountain and the folk are very friendly also the food is really good from Saints Burger Joint. They do Pizzas. Which is what we ordered. Was really good.
Love the area. Small but vibrant. The restaurants, grass where you can picnick, shops to browse, great place for sundowner, some family time on the beach, time with friends, surfing is good and kitesurfing when wind is up.
The view and the water color are absolutely insane! The beach itself is unfortunately a bit tricky and uncomfortable to walk on as it is fairly rocky, but a cement walkway is available for a large part of the stretch.
Do the restaurants have to encroach on the walkways? Can some one water the lawns and mow it this year and unblock the shower drains in the public shower area?

Great place for sunsets and talking walks on the beach, now with summer around the corner great place for couples and families well even the solitary person looking for a place to clear your head.
Always a scenic destination to take the family for a walk on the beach or a beach front restaurant visit. The views of Table Mountain and the Atlantic seaboard is amazing and without compare.
We went to Ons huisie for lunch. Food and waiter was great. The view of the bay was magnificent.

Big bay is a great place to relax with a superb view of the beach just in your reach. You can enjoy any type of food you fell like with lots of restaurants to decide from.
Love big bay however in recent years it's become somewhat overcrowded with apartments. As a visitor to SA I find this a bit disappointing.
