Nice store, good layout, friendly employees. Some of the prices are not exactly what I would consider closeout prices, which is what Big Lots is supposed to be, a retailer that purchases overstock and liquidated items in bulk to distribute throughout their stores. Always was a great place to go for bargains. It appears that over the years their strategy has changed to shift more focus on keeping certain items in stock all the time, and their prices reflect that. Things like the grippy no-skid rolled up mats and plastic totes can be purchased for less at other retailers. Electronic items are what you'd expect at a closeout retailer, don't expect to find the newest things there, but every once in a while you can find something worth getting. Prices are usually on the high side for these items, too. USB memory sticks sold here offer half the capacity for the same price as you'd spend for double the storage elsewhere. Candle selection is pretty good, I like to stock up when the larger ones go on sale, those last a fairly long time and keep their scent. Rewards program is hit and miss. Half the time the register receipt indicates that the points on the receipt have not been linked to your account, and that's a big deal because if you shop there three times in a month you're supposed to get a $5 coupon to use. I have yet to have that problem fixed.

I bought a pool for over $200 and close to $100 for shipping. The pool popped within 2 days so we had to pack it up in the box it came from and deliver it back to big lots which I was told I would get a full refund. Fast forward to a few weeks after I get a bill in the mail. The credit card company says there’s no information or charge showing & to call big lots. I call big lots they can’t do anything for me of course. I then get another bill in the mail with 2 late fees even tho I did my part & asked about a balance and they said It showed nothing. I call today to make a MINIMUM PAYMENT and the representative charged me the full $105 amount !!!!!!! I never said to pay the full balance?!?! She doesn’t even know if I have $105? She never asked if I wanted to make the payment in full. I call to dispute and it will take 5-7 days . 5-7 days that I don’t have!!!!! Don’t waste your time & money. Mind you I had to pay $60 for filling the pool up and wasting 4000 gallons of water and the worthless pool. Horrible customer service all around. Coming back to say I WAS CHARGED INTEREST ON A THIS SO CALLED “RETURN” freakin interest !!!!!!!!! After paying it off & all within 1 payment!!!!!!!!

They have totally rearranged the store. Not sure who set up the aisles, but everything is all over the place....electronics in four different sections, holiday decorations on three completely different aisles...What a jacked up mess. It is like a schizophrenic designed the lay out of this store. Took me forever to find the basic things I purchase here every week, which angered me greatly. Big Lots, who ever made these changes, please fire them immediately and get a child to do the job. Because any 9 year old kid has enough sense to know all the animal stuff goes in one aisle and all the holiday on another. IE - like goes with like goes with like, because no one has six hours to figure out the madness that is the new layout of this store. I know I dont. Meanwhile, all is not lost, there is a nice Big Lots on 281 and Thousand Oaks and a super nice store in Converse at 8318 FM78, Converse, TX 78109. Guess I'll start shopping there. It is just frustrating because this Big Lots is practically in my back yard.but, according to the girl, the madness that is their aisles, is there to stay.

They are clean, helpful, friendly, and go out of their way to help. I bought a patio set, which the chairs wouldn't fit in my car so they held onto it until an associate picked it up for me. I'm also on a waiting list for some furniture that once it is in they will contact me. My only complaint is that while they had a third party delivery service they should know the delivery schedule at all time. When you buy furniture, especially at some of their prices you want to know when you will have it in your home. They couldn't tell me when I would be able to get my things delivered so I found other ways to get them to my home. Other than the delivery information, which all stores should know, I will definitely keep coming her for my home because their membership has perks and benefits plus they have sales all the time. They went out of their way to find the set I was looking for and put a hold on it for me when it comes in and most stores won't do that. I love Big Lots.

I had to give this place a star I would have given a 0. There customer service is horrible horrible the training at this store so so sad everyone needs to get trained in all departments i came in and spent 2,143.31and when I came back to pick up my stuff they didn't have my box spring after I was told all my pieces were in store hmmm ..then the store manager tells the lady back here to offer me 10.00 dollars to go pick up a box spring in universal city...is that a joke i will never set foot here again im just one of those people that mean what they say..this was a god awful experience..

There was a Manager who to my knowledge is new, she was extremely rude and not accommodating in any way. We were charged for several items at full price instead of the listed promotion. When confronted she said we had to read each item because they range in prices. I said the promotion states that every item of its nature is listed at the promotion price. She still was adamant in me having to assume which ones apply and which ones do not. False advertising is not a good thing to endure, especially in waiting In long lines and being treated like we were in the wrong.

My wife and I are very disappointed. We have been long time customers of this location and would continue to be except the experience we just had. Last week we went in to inquire purchasing one of the kasibos that were on display which we were told to please check back they would be getting more of the one we wanted. Upon requiring about if it came in we were told that they sold the display which wasn't an option for us when we required and we would have purchased the night we came in. Very disappointed and will shop a different big lots from here out and further.

We went to get a Patio table and two chairs. This location did not have it on stock, except the one on the floor. They do not sell the sample piece. They told us that another store has it. We did not have time to go to go to that store on the other side of town. So decided to get it online! We did not have that instant gratification! Lol! It's a great place to shop from furniture to home goods to candy and what-have-you! We have been there several times and bought several items from them. Great deals if you look for them when they are 50% off on certain items.

I love Big Lots because they always have items that I can't find anywhere else. They have the Sweet Baby Ray's Honey Mustard sauce that HEB nor Wal- Mart has! And it's delicious! Also I bought some really nice furniture for a great deal, a large tv stand and large chair for under 200 dollars. Plus, I got a bathroom scrubber which works fabulously for 30 bucks and it's 40 everywhere else. And they have these pickles called barrel pickles they are to die for. Their good chilled or warm. Make sure to check out Big Lots they really be having great items.

Big lots is a cool place to find just about anything at a bargain price, this being said you shouldn't expect amazing quality. Furniture is comfy enough and lasts a few years and really when compared to competition you still pay less here buying it twice over the years then buying the same thing from "insert fancy company"even if it lasts twice as long there. Not the most organized store, but you can figure it out after browsing. Also never seen to have enough cashiers. But never had problems looking for someone to help while looking around.

Your location on FM 78 needs to retrain your staff on how to work the cash registers. You had a staff who had NO IDEA what she was doing recently to SCREW up my bank account. I got stuck with a $64.74 bill when all my total was suppose to be was $14.94. When i contacted corporate, where as it ONLY took her less than 2 mins to screw up my checking acct, i was told that i had to wait 7-10 business days to get my money back. FYI! NEVER USE A DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD WITH THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL SCREW UP YOUR ACCOUNT!

Well I went to Big lots just to pass the time...but I found that the staff was very friendly and willing to assist. They have an excellent Christmas section and plenty of stocking stuffers. I also went to the furniture area and found a piece I could put towels in that was quality and an affordable price. It really sold me when I saw each draws were lined. They ensured i was apart of awards program and I received my military discount! Score!

This has always been my favorite Big Lots to go to in San Antonio. They are always super nice and friendly. Recently I was in the market to get some new furniture. They didn't leave me there wandering. They made sure to ask if I needed help, and made sure someone was aware I was looking around in case I had questions. I've been going to this location for years and everyone I've come in contact with has excellent customer service

We have just started going back to Big Lots. They have lots of great stuff there. The store is very clean. And the people that work there are very friendly. The prices are good. If you belong to their rewards program, you can really get some good savings and coupons. The only thing I can say is they need a rider, electric scooter for people who cannot walk through the whole store. The kind like HEB and Walmart have.

Yaaay!! Big Lots probably has what you're searching for! Surprisingl, I saw a wide selection of home goods of every type, toiletries, wound care, housecleaning + bathroom items, canned + boxed food supplies & an endless supply of more - more - more!!! Pretty good prices, too. Over the past month they offered varying types of holiday decorations, though as its close to Christmas they're probably running out of stock!

I had the worst experience ever today, worse than Walmart, I went to go exchange an item, just one item, there wasnt anyone in line or in the store, she kept scoffing, acting like she was annoyed by me, terrible attitude, when she threw the bag away like I was really bothering her, I was with my son, he noticed it also. This store location is not easily visible from the main road. This shopping strip is right across from HEB shopping strip. The store is well stock with lots of variety of product. I always look at the clearance sections to find the bargain. The store is old, but the product selections made up for it. You always find great deals at all Big Lots!

We called for a certain item and we were told it was there however an employee gives attitude and now tells us its not there. We drove from one side of town to another to leave empty handled. We were told they won't sell the one on displayed as a matter of fact we brought furniture as is. Worse store ever

Started off a little slow, but customer service finally came around. Left San Pedro and went to Big Lot's on Nachdoges. Big Lot's worker Bruce the best service I have received so far. I give 10 stars to this guy EXCELLENT customer service I mean EXCELLENT SERVICE. I'm going to this Big Lot's for now on.

It had been so long since I had been inside a Big Lots, I literally couldn't find what I was looking for at first. However, once I got my bearings, I found what I was looking for at a great price (though lesser quality than I would have liked, but that's ok). I was in and out in less than 7 minutes.

I was very impressed with the customer service that was present. James was polite and helpful. Although there were several people in line ahead of me my wait was not long at all. They were efficient with getting people checked out in a timely fashion that did not compromise the shoppers experience.

This store could get a 4 if it weren't for the humongous spider webs handing from the ceilings. The webs have dust so they've been there a while. The fact that they continue to stock pillows, shoes, luggage, etc in that area directly under the webs is beyond me. It shows they don't care.

Make sure the prices match up, price they got marked on the product doesn't match when it is scanned. I spent $35 but with what the product says to receipt I got screwed $7 and when I called "oh you should have checked when checking out, there is nothing we can do"

Yet Another fine place!!! I was worried when I 1st saw the outside condition but Bam! This place was Full of Goodies and even nice furniture! I've already been back 2 more times and swear they add aisles weekly, Ha! Actually a Decent selection of delights.

It's a big lots lol this one in particular isn't very messy the people in the area are respectful of their stores. The employees were nice. The prices for things you might have bought at target or Walmart are actually cheaper by a few bucks here.

Nice clean store. Sells almost everything you can think of. Even the customers were nice. Iwas sitting down because my foot was hurting, asked someone if they knew where an item was, she walked to the isle and found it for me. Now that's nice.

Numerous product was on the floor, some shelves were missing price signs, very limited selection of furniture to choose from, empty soda bottle and potatoe chip bag just thrown on a display matress. Very dirty and messy store.

Overpriced & mostly items you do NOT need, mostly impulse buys. The furniture may be worth it, but not the smaller items. Went to Dollar General afterwards & they had better deals on same items (ex. deodorant, kids toys...)

Been there 4 weeks in row still out my items . Two of times the employees I encounter seemed not customer service minded the floor person ignored me and the cashier not friendly at all.

There's a lot of products in this store. It seems cluttered and over crowded. Each area of the store feels overwhelming and claustrophobic. I walked around but left within 10 minutes.
