1. Dangerous 2. Unprofessional 3. Immoral I used Brookfields back in Feb this year for a service and MOT. It was a bit of a rush as i'd forgotten my MOT and could tax the car so i didn't do much research. I was really shocked with the service. I ended up having an expensive service (around £800). They changed a front tyre. About a month later i noticed a noise coming from this tyre (although at the time i didn't know it was the tyre i thought it was the front axle). By then we were into lockdown and garages were closed. I also have triplets who are 3 and worked as a doctor throughout COVID so didn't have time. Eventually i did some research and was recommended a garage which i took the car to yesterday. They said straight away someone has changed the tyre and not put it back properly. Its actually only held on by one nut and not safe to drive! (i'd been driving with the kids on the motorway). I thought i'd phone Brookfields to see if they'd repair (its actually very cheap to get a few nuts and tighten them up). There response was so ridiculous- they felt it MORE likely someone had tried to steal they tyre they'd changed and loosened the nuts. Also as i'd driven it more about 3000 miles since it wasn't their fault despite me pointing out the noise started shortly after the service and another professional felt this most likely scenario. Also other things make it seem implausible (and i think they know this): 1. No one else on local WhatsApp group had anyone try to steal a tyre. Its just not a problem around here. I'm not sure it is many places as newer cars have locking wheel nuts. 2. My car probably least likely target. 3. Haven't parked elsewhere due to lockdown. 4. No alloys. 5. Tyre thief would have to have jacked up the car, removed all but one nut, including the locking nut (which had also fallen off) and the removed jack and given up. So i thought i'd ask around on some facebook groups. A local facebook group - many people had similar experiences some of the comments (all separate ones) included 'negligence', 'overcharged', 'gone down hill in last 4 years', 'would never use again', 'made a mistake and didn't give me a refund'. I could go on! My concern is they are dangerous so i will report them to MOT services and currently trying to find the best way forward with trading standards route. I would really advise against using this garage.

Very pleased with having my MOT completed here. Pretty much followed on from last years experience which is why I'm now writing a review after having a few things done by Brookfield. Last year my celica was a pain. It needed a heatshield, however, Toyota couldn't send one for a month as they didnt have stock. After speaking to the garage they agreed it might be worth buying a second hand one. I looked about and found some but I didnt have to time to go to the breakers yard and remove it myself. I explained to Brookfield the issue and they then went above and beyond to fabricate one fit for purpose. Which was alot cheaper than the OEM part. So I was happy last year. This year and the car needed some welding and some other bits done. I was kept up to date with how things had gone and I'm pretty sure I spoke to a guy called Tony who was very helpful and polite. He really did look after me and got everything done in 24 hours. If you want quality you need to go here. You pay for what you get and in my experience with Brookfield they will bend over backwards to try and get a resolution. If it cant be done they will tell you so you are under no false illusions. I would like to thank Tony and mark. Top work guys. Mark came out to let me know a couple of things to keep an eye on. I had a question around disc sizes for the front wheels and he was happy to explain what the diameter meant as I had seen different sizes online. Hopefully see you guys in no less than 12 months thank you all again

Cam belt snapped on 5 year old Peugeot 308 and I got RAC to tow to Brookfield's as my partner had used them before. Booked in with Mark and Tony. They inspected the car and spoke with RAC on our behalf. RAC wanted the engine stripped before deciding whether our claim would be covered by RAC warranty. Instead of going ahead, Tony called myself and advised that BF putting a spanner to the engine would void the manufacturers warranty, which may be able to cover the damage. He talked me through my options, advising the pros and cons of each. His advice resulted in RAC picking the car back up and taking it to a Peugeot garage, where Peugeot assessed and agreed to cover the cost of the repairs. Brookfield's asked for nothing in return for their part. They had the car with them for a full day, had mechanics examine the engine and gave honest advice that saved me over £3k. I took my car for medium service and MOT today. In at 0900, ready for collection by 1400. Cost exactly what was quoted with no nasty surprises. Cannot reccommend enough.

Work as a carer, and between shifts in a tired moment accidentally filled my diesel car with petrol! Been using this garage for years and service is always professional, friendly and reliable with honest work and prices. They were very busy so I didn't think they would even be able to fit the car in for at least a week. Took it on Friday afternoon, and astoundingly they called me the next day (Saturday) and told me they fitted it in to enable me to get to my care job on Monday! Really can't believe how brilliant these guys are and can't thank them enough! It has made my day, they really went above and beyond, special thanks to Tony who spotted the issue straight away and resolved it all so quickly, jargon free, friendly and professional. Honestly can't recommend this place highly enough.

My wife’s car broke down over the bank holiday and the RAC towed her car to this garage. Tuesday morning the garage rang us up who were very polite and understanding of our situation. They talked us through what they would need to do and explained everything to us. After an initial quote, the supplier for a part had given them a cheaper cost and later on rang them to say it would be more expensive. Instead of passing the cost onto us Brookfield garage took the hit as it wasn’t the garage or our faults. This is a true sign of honest and professional business and for that we are very thankful. The car has been fixed the next day and we are really grateful to have a decent garage so close to where we live. We would recommend this place to anyone, lovely bunch thank you again.

Incompetent and untrustworthy. Thought I would give them a go as they're local. Asked these goons to replace my headlight bulbs then put it through MOT, with very clear instructions to do it in that order, as the car had never had an MOT fail on its record. Instead they MOT'd and failed it on the headlights, then called me to tell me this. On collecting the car, they wouldn't even budge on the £15 charge for the bulb replacement, saying they'd "look after me next time". ...2 years later, I thought I'd give them another shot and explained the reason why I'd never returned, and asked if they would keep their word and look after me in some way this time round. The guy laughed at me and said "I shouldn't think so". Useless. Will stick with my independent specialist.

I took my car to Brookfield Garage after traveling up to Bristol from Cornwall after my daughter was rushed into hospital. I rang the garage the following morning in a panic as I had to fix my car, get my daughter out of hospital and drive back to Cornwall. They were fantastic from the get go, they told me not to panic, come down in an hour, they sorted my car for me, they were beyond friendly, with offers of drinks. They would,nt take any money from me, but I left a tip. Its really nice in this day and age to find such service, I would recommend this garage without a doubt, FIVE STAR will be back with treats when next in Bristol. Well done Brookfield Garage. I have used this garage for years, but I think approx 1 year ago the owner sold up - or moved on.The garage expanded & evolved into car sales as well as repairs. Since then, in my opinion it's declined in quality. They recently quoted me just under £400 for some work, compared to £230 from another reputable garage in the area. When I made a query about the near £400 quote seeming quite expensive, I was told they could ''knock £50 off for me''. I guess they thought they were doing me a favour, but it just confirmed my suspicion that they were trying to overcharge me in the first place. Nothing really wrong with their customer service, but worth shopping around for your money.

Fantastic service from all the staff at Brookfield’s Garage. I totally recommend this garage, I always get my car MOT & serviced annually with them. I would like to say a big thank you to Tony & his team for going above and beyond while we are in lockdown. My drivers side seat belt stopped working and my car is old (2005) and I use my car everyday for work, so it was a massive safety issue, it was hard work trying to find a second hand belt that would fit my car, Tony at Brookfield’s found one and fitted it the next day! Top service and one Happy customer! Thank you Brookfield’s Garage, Tony, Fred & Team I am forever grateful for your help! Julie

  • Martha Aldridge

Really poor experience. Very expensive (>£600) and questionable 'repair' which didn't fix my fault. Apparently a technician then spent five days the failing to identify and remedy the problem. If he did spend five days, I'd love to know what he was doing all that time. I took it somewhere else and it was all fixed two hours after I dropped it off. It needed two parts totalling £4.40. I used to get great service here, but this was an incredibly sore experience and I felt like I'd been taken for a ride and talked down to, as well as frustrated that I'd paid such a large amount unnecessarily. I'll never take my car back there.

  • Gareth Lloyd

Just picked up my vehicle from Brookfield garage after my vehicle needed some extensive work. After explaining what I thought was happening, they diagnosed the problem and kept me informed at every part of the process. They even advised me about things didn't need to be done! I have been using Brookfield garage for 17 years now and wouldn't take my car anywhere else. Brookfield garage can be trusted always and are honest which is rare these. They are totally customer focussed. I just don't understand the negative comments here and think these people were unhappy before they even visited Brookfield Garage. Recommended!!!

Took my car here as part of an AA breakdown as my engine timing went. Had my car for 2 weeks, timing fixed and everything seemed fine. A week later a small fuel line blew on my injector due to a plastic retainer clip being snapped. The AA attended again and said it looks someone had put weight on it whilst working on the timing. A New fuel like cost £11...... I was quoted £225 to fitting. not impressed considering I'd just spent 600 with them the week beforehand. Was clearly over quoted here so won't be using again. The place died after Steve left, they are over charging cowboys. I ordered the pipe and fitted it myself.

  • Michael Hoffmann

Had to get an emergency repair as the brake light and warning came on in order to continue my journey. They looked at the car within 45 min min of me stepping by. Whilst they die not have the parts they made sure they could get the car ready on the next morning. The price quoted was reasonable (and they honoured their quote) and communication was very friendly and professional. This was two weeks ago and the brakes have been working fine since, so I would think they did a great job. If I lived in Bristol, I would use them again. So a huge thank you goes out to the team at Brookfield Garage!

  • Henry Watson

Replaced the driveshafts of my car and failed to secure the undercarriage properly, meaning that it tore away from the car on the motorway 10 miles after collecting the car, and also failed to align the wheels properly (or advise me to have them aligned) resulting in several hundred pounds worth of tyre costs. Very reluctantly accepted some responsibility for the undercarriage, but blamed it on the undercarriage being previously damaged. If it had already been damaged and difficult to fit, I would have expected them to advise that this was the case and recommend replacement.

  • Lorainne Holliday

We hadn't realised our MOT had expired. We couldn't get booked in anywhere until over a week away and we were due to travel at the weekend. Tony's garage was also full but when he heard our predicament he went out of his way to get us in and not only that, because the garage was a few miles from our house he offered to collect and drop the car back, which he did bang on time. We expected to be charged an arm and a leg for the service but we weren't at all. He was so lovely and genuine, top bloke and outstanding customer service, we'll definitely be going back.

  • Tom Savage

Cost me £160 to 'diagnose a fault' and was quoted £600 and possibly two weeks while they waited for a part. Decided to take my car to a different specialist, where the total cost was £60 for only a broken circuit, plus they had to repaid damage done whilst at Brookfield to the exhaust mounting. Told Brookfield they'd got it completely wrong with receipt proof and they claimed they were 'very happy with their work' and refused any kind of refund or admission of fault. Laughable. Go elsewhere.

  • Clara Palmer

Brookfield Garage is fantastic, the best garage I've used in Bristol, I won't go anywhere else. They are very professional, knowledgeable, honest, reliable and organised. I take my car here for MOT, servicing and repairs. They are very honest about what needs doing and whether it will be worth it (given the age and likely life expectancy of my car). Once I had to get a repair done to go on a long journey and they really busted a gut to make sure that the car was ready in time. Great garage!

  • Dann Casswell

These guys are great, They do the work fast, they do the work well... and they only ever do work that actually needs to be done. I recently had a problem with the electrics on my ford KA, thought it might have been the alternator... (would have cost upwards of £300 to fix) they correctly identified that it was a problem with some of the wiring.... they fixed it and also changed some bulbs... total bill was £88 So I am big fan of Brookfield Garage and highly recommend them.

  • franzi barnard

Tony and team firstly changed the Cam belt on my Ford Focus and then the back brakes. Subsequently an unrelated fault developed, the engine stalled, would not restart and there was overheating We were about to travel in the car to the Pyrennes with car laden for our house there. The garage immediately worked on the car, checked everything possible and spent immense amounts of time and energy finally resolving the problem. I couldn’t have asked for a better team.

  • Deborah Rubas

FAST, FRIENDLY,SERVICE. THE GARAGE IS , VERY, VERY BUSY, BUT THEY STILL MAKE TIME FOR THE CUSTOMER , FROM THE BUSY FRONT RECEPTION TO THE PROFESSIONAL MECHANICS IN THE WORKSHOP. LIKE MOST M.O.T GARAGES THE PARKING CAN BE AN ISSUE. BUT IF YOU POP INTO THE RECEPTION THEY WILL ADVISE YOU ON PARKING THE CAR. OUR OLD FIAT MULTIPLU (51 PLATE) HAS NOW GOT A NEW M. O. T. FOR LESS THAN £110, ALL IN, NOT BAD FOR A 15 YEAR OLD CAR. THANKS AGAIN BROOKFIELD.

  • Harriet St

I took my car here for an MOT and fuse change. I was fortunate enough to get a same day appointment and was done by the end of the day. The guys were all really friendly, helpful, honest and took the time to properly explain everything. Being a female I often feel mechanics take advantage of my lack of knowledge but not these guys. An honest, fair and good mechanic I would recommend to anyone and everyone. Thanks for your help Brookfield Garage!

  • Julie-Anne Burrows

Excellent from start to finish. I called to get a quote and to find out when there was a space to book. Other garages had been unhelpful, quoting a high minimum labour charge (just to have look), with a weeks wait. When I called Brookfield I was advised to come straight in. Within a couple of hours I got a call to say it was fixed. The team were polite, helpful, professional and did a brilliant job. This will now be my favourite Bristol garage.

  • William Sexton

Would avoid if possible. Assessed my car for a warranty claim. Incorrectly diagnosed by the garage, leaving me to fight the warranty company to get it reassessed & paid for. Then informed by the garage that their rate is £15 higher p/h than what's covered so I have to pay the difference. Come to collect car and forced to also pay for the first misdiagnosis that caused me all the heartache in the first place.

  • JonnyC321 “JonnyC321”

Been using these guys for the last 5 years... Recently they have been terribly over priced compared to other garages. Regrettably I am now taking my business elsewhere. I really would shop around if I were you. You can get allot more for your money elsewhere. I think that they have have possibly had management change or even the business has changed hands..... It's just not what it used to be.

  • Martin

AVOID!! These guys are lying rip off merchants fearmongering telling me loads of stuff wrong with my car that DID NOT EXIST! and that it would start a fire! said upwards of £1800 and all these parts with needed with inflated costs! thought i was stupid! took to another local garage and he confirmed the lies ended up costing me £150 with none of the parts needed they claimed it did. Terrible!

  • Farrah Ahmed

Managed to cut the curb with my tyre resulting in it being badly damaged on Ashley Down road while trying to give way to a bigger vehicle coming from the front. Luckily I was quite close to Brookfield's garage. The guys were super helpful especially Jerry who was professional and pleasant. Thankyou Jerry, Fred and Mark for fixing my car so that I could go back to the hospital for work.

  • Anna Halama

I'm amazed by some of the reviews on here. I've been taking my car in to Brookfield Garage almost since it first opened and have always had great service from them - and at very reasonable cost. They're helpful and courteous and have gone the extra mile to get the job done promptly, even when it wasn't straightforward. I have always been really happy with them.

  • Neil Rogers

I have used Brookfield Garage for Servicing & Repairs for 2 years now and every time they get it right, leaving no stone unturned and ensure my wife and I have cars in tip top condion. Steve and Pete really look after you and the prices are always more than competitive. All MOT prep and MOT's carried out on site. Fantastic....thanks guys!

  • Gary

Always good service from this Garage. Been using them for nearly 10 years so that really says something. They stand out from the rest because they provide a quality service at a good price and are honest about repair options and give good practical advice, consistently helping me get value out of the cars that I drive. Highly recommended.

  • Andy Radford

A HUGE thank you for comfortably the best interaction with a garage in many years. They slotted me into an already hectic schedule when I pitched up first thing in the morning, walked through the heat with a charger to start my car and then fixed it before closing. All with a genuinely friendly and welcoming attitude. Highly recommended.

  • Leonardo Fernandes

If it’s an emergency breakdown please don’t go there, they always give a priority to appointments, when it is rac approved and recommended. Guys if u have a emergency breakdown please please don’t go there. The service is awful the answer is we will call you when we get time, it could be today, tomorrow or in weeks time.

  • Robbie Fox

This is a great garage. The team there are friendly and honest and could tell me clearly what was going on with my car in language I could understand as I'm pretty car mechanics ignorant! They explain their prices fairly and their communication and general service is brilliant. Highly recommended - thanks guys!

  • Sarah Anderson

Car booked in for an MOT, issue with the headlight and difficulty sourcing a new part. I required the car to visit family. Tony was very helpful and went above and beyond to assist. He worked beyond closing time to get the issue resolved. Very grateful and fantastic customer service from Tony!

  • Anna Bunting

Such a friendly, professional and efficient garage. Found myself stranded in Bristol with a broken alternator over the Christmas period, luckily Brookfield were able to get me back on the road, fitting me in last minute and staying late to ensure it was fixed. Would highly recommend.

  • James Ross

Wouldn’t use any other garage in bristol other than these guys. Sorted me a great price for an MOT & service. Been back since as I had a minor accident.. recommended specialist garages in my local area who could also help.. for the numerous problems! Top class service, cheers guys.

  • rob tinkler

Car dropped off by RAC with diagonosis of fault by RAC. Expensive quote received. On not accepting quote, not previously mentioned £40 charge for diagnostic work, or the refuse to hand over key. Be careful people, they will literally charge you for looking at your car. .Expe

  • Sarah Barter

Personally don't think they should even get one star. Shocking customer service. Couldn't do the job correctly in the first, broke down after what they said was fixed and safe to drive! I can't believe they even call themselves a garage. Won't be coming back here again.

  • Kerris Hartley-Brown

Excellent customer service and reasonably priced. I turned up in a rush needing my front pads doing, ended up changing the pads and discs (they were more than happy to show me the warm discs). They managed to squeeze me in without a booking. Good work guys and thanks.

  • Mariana Gonçalves

Took the car for a MOT, got a call saying it had failed some minor things that could be fixed on the day. Decided to fix these with Brookfield garage, good value for money, the car was also fixed on the time and the staff was really nice and professional. Recommend it

  • Paul W

Super-friendly customer service and excellent quality of workmanship. Brookfield is not necessarily cheap but they do what they say they will do and I trust their judgement. Good organisation and seem to be coping with the Covid crisis as well as is possible.

  • Matthew Trerise

Super friendly, honest, professional and excellent service. Recommended by a friend 10 years ago, now I recommend to everyone. These guys have also gone out of their way for me during lockdown as they know I work for the NHS, thank you and fully appreciated!

  • Brunel Tyres

A great local independent garage. We have used Brookfield over the last ten plus years to help us out with MOT's and numerous technical jobs. Great service from the office and knowledgeable guys in the workshop. Keep up the good work fellas...

  • Claire Ferguson

I popped into the garage when my car wouldn’t start. They came straight along to jumpstart the battery and when it wouldn’t start the next day, got it booked straight in to get a new battery and back on the same day. Very friendly and helpful.

  • Hakim Karim

As a neighbour and he comes to my shop, I thought it would be best to take the car and check. After 4 days of waiting, they called and said that my car needs a new Heath exchanger, I called Mercedes they priced me for £187. But they guy on

  • Ellie C

I've been using this garage for 7 years and they are consistently great each time. They fixed my car to a very high standard yet again, with good communication and helpful advice- and far quicker than I expected. I highly recommend them.

  • Ben Byrne

Been taking the car to Brookfield's for ~5 years, they're great. Squeezed in a repair on a Saturday at the last minute when we were depending on the car to go on holiday that evening, they absolutely saved the day. Highly recommended.

  • Shaun Turning

Had two jobs on two cars done here, from what I can tell both jobs done well but also both jobs overcharged compared to other garages. Would highly recommend getting a price and breakdown beforehand and comparing prices online.

  • Tyler Hodgson

Rip off. Car failed MOT. They quoted me £450, rang C J Motors in Redfield who I normally use and they said yeah it sounds over priced. Ended up costing £190 so got the work done there then took it back for a re-test. AVOID

  • Richard Palmer
