THE WORST PHARMACY/ CLINIC I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE! First off, they're website out-dated on to which insurances they accept, and do not. I've had to pay $110 for registration at the minute clinic before because of it, (not a big deal I'm getting my money back). BUT, today was my LAST time ever utilizing their crappy service again!!!! I came in at 9 AM to get a prescription filled because I was rushed to the ER last night; I came here because they are closest to my job. BIG MISTAKE every single employee there seems to be incompetent, mainly the one who took my prescription this morning & DIDN'T FILL IT, and also the two I spoke with throughout the duration of checking on my prescription. The fake pharmacist stated that she was waiting on the ER doctors MPI #, and that she would contact him, and then contact me back; the first of the LIES. 10:30 AM comes, I still haven't received an update from her I contact the emergency department and SPOKE with the doctor, and no one at this shi**y pharmacy has even tried to contact him!!! I call back immediately, and speak with another liar from their department, I give her his direct telephone number and she tells me she is about to call him now, and make sure it is filled. LIES, I call back at 12 PM to see whats going on, because I still haven't received an update from either associate, and another gets on the phone saying that their is nothing over there for me; I tell him the story; he tries to make up some excuse from the notes saying that they are waiting on a # to contact the doctor, BULL! I am sick, and livid at this point. I have left my desk three times, and now walked over there twice in the pouring rain just to find out it is still not filled. DO NOT GO TO THIS PHARMACY/ MINUTE CLINIC! EVER!

I had a horrible experience. I walked in and I had all the employees' eyes on me. Being a black man, being watched everywhere I went in the store made me VERY UNCOMFORTABLE! I tried to ask a lady who was dressed like the manager about an item and she answered "what you see is what we have" before my question was over. She proceeded to follow me down every isle I went. The saddest part of it was that she was black herself. I went on to the self check out and another guy was obviously staring at me and wanted me to notice. I made my $36 purchase with my credit card and walked out feeling very shameful. I am a bus driver in the union who probably makes more than the highest paid employee the store has. Safe to say...I will NEVER step foot into this store again and will recommend none of my family and friends to do the same.

I shopped here for the first time and it was an uncomfortable experience. I looked around the store to see what all cvs had to offer compared to walgreens. One thing they offer is store associates following you around during your shopping! I came for a certain product that was supposedly in stock but was misplaced during rearranging the isles the might before. When it came to check out, the associate was yelling at customers like she was some type of correction officer or army sergeant to keep the line moving. When I scanned an item which apparently didn't scan correctly, the store associate pretty much had a temper tantrum. yelling at me saying that the item didn't scan. It's not my fault that your machines are faulty! I won't be back to this location.

Pharmacy sucks! They have this thing that they do where they bounce you back and forth from prescription drop off to prescription pick up when they can't get the correct co pay information from your insurance because their system isn't up to date and then they expect you get back in line after you've stood in line to long in the first place. I've never had to wait so long for a prescription to be filled it's never ready in a hour I don't care what time of the day it is. It's bad enough that you have to drive all the way to 103rd and Pulaski because their pharmacy hours suck and that's their closest 24hr pharmacy on the south side. I left Walgreens because of poor cs but at least they have more than one 24hr pharmacy on the S east side.

I come into this store all the time, it's where I get my prescriptions filled. Monica(?) in the pharmacy has the nastiest attitude. The first time I overlooked it, but I've encountered her 3-4 times and it's always the same. The rest of the pharmacy staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. The pharmacist is great. But during my last visit they gave me expired medication, and since I'd taken one of the pills before realizing what they did, they won't take the medicine back. I opted to just refill the Rx but received a call back 10 minutes later saying that they can't refill it because their entire stock of this particular medication was a month out of date. Needless to say I will no longer be filling our prescriptions this location.

It’s plain to see that the clinic staff does not care about their patients. I am suffering with strep to the point of bleeding and I show up for my appointment 5 minutes late just to be told I had to leave or reschedule, meanwhile another man walks in for a flu shot with no appointment and is seen right away, as we’re having the aforementioned conversation. They are so reliant on their systems and yet will bend their so-called stringent rules for relatively easier services. All I wanted was a prescription for the most basic of antibiotics, and time and time again my pleas were met with indifference and frankly rude adherence to a nonexistent set of red tape. I have never felt more abused by an establishment.

Its very rare I go to this location but I think I'm about to start ...just off the simple interaction I just had. I came to print out a couple photos I was greeted by one employee at the door that directed me to the photo section. Long story short FRANCINE was so helpful and sweet and made me feel so good. Post pandemic a lot of workers are tired and over worked as they should be, and sometimes that reflects in the service. As someone that works in the service industry, it means a lot to me that BLACK PEOPLE to experience luxury and Quality. So this interaction with FRANCINE was just so warming and made me feel like there's hope for our people. Think I'm about to start coming to this CVS.....

I had my prescription put in on June 30th it is now July 16th and I am still waiting on all my meds the pharmacist that answered the phone was extremely unprofessional and rude I have called this pharmacy 3 times about the same meds but only got an answer once and when they did answer after 10 mins of me waiting for them to answer I get put on hold for another 5 mins this is the worse pharmacy I have ever been to the person that answered was very impatient I was still talking and he just hung up in my face I think they just need to fire the entire store and start fresh because I can sense they don’t like there jobs and it shows WHERE IS CORPORATE THEY NEED TO FIX THIS!!!!! IMMEDIATELY

  • Alana Martin

I hate this pharmacy with a passion. I pick up a relative’s prescriptions. I haven’t found a time of day (except opening maybe?) where the line is NOT as pictured. On top of that, they send pick up texts for prescriptions that are NOT ready. They have you wait in this line just to be told the prescriptions they said were ready are not. My relative can’t easily change their pharmacist. Would have abandoned this one long ago. ETA: Adding a dated, timestamped photo of the line every time I come. I returned for one of the prescriptions that was not ready at the time of my original review.

This CVS Kimbark Plaza is the worst one I’ve been too. Customer service is LOUSY. EVERYONE in pharmacy EXCEPT Stormi is rude, they have the worst attitudes and don’t want to assist people. The Minute clinic Is a joke. They where behind and instead of someone coming and saying that they just had people sitting there waiting well past the appointment time. I will travel to the south loop before I come Back to this CVS again. I’m tired of terrible customer service. You can be replaced it’s people who are looking for jobs and would be happy to have any job during this terrible time.

  • Daddy Ra Sheem

This CVS in the most disrespectful inconsiderate store I have came across so far! I came to the front counter to ask a question about an item, before the words could form in my mouth I was rushed over to self checkout. I found the manager wandering aimlessly lost talking on the phone. When I posed my question to her her response was "who are you"... enough! There are other businesses that would surely appreciate my hard earned money

  • JA Cook

Had a great experience with the pharmacist on duty at the Kimbark Plaza location the night of 1/13/2022 (a gentleman) who helped me get the pain meds I’d been prescribed following surgery earlier that day. My insurance wouldn’t cover them and he took time right before closing to help me find the lowest price out of pocket using one of the discount pharmacy cards. He saved the day and went the extra mile in customer service!

  • Katie Homa

The worst CVS I've ever been to. Products are dusty and old, and the selection is subpar. Self-checkouts are the only checkout options available. Also, horrible pharmacy experience all-around. They continually forget to order my automatic refill so it's not ready in time, or they give me a different generic prescription because it's their "preferred brand." Only plus is that pharmacy employees are veey amiable.

  • Adanné Willis

0 Stars if only I could. These people make me very uncomfortable almost every time I come to their store. I visit a lot and always pay like every other customer, However I still get followed and constantly asked how am doing and if I need help finding anything. When I say no they keep staring at me as though they think I'm stealing. I feel so out of place every time I come I don't even want to go anymore :(

  • Guilherme Grillo Martins

Just terrible. Tried to get vaccinated here in a walk-in. The put you in the same line with sick people coughing at you. They made me go over a kiosk that ask 100 questions. The kiosk was buggy and I couldn't complete the process, I asked for help and the lady kept saying I needed to complete the questionnaire on a faulty system. I went to CSV at target and got vaccinated in 5 minutes, no questions asked.

  • MIke Moore

I entered this CVS on 7/26/18. Within three minutes of being in the store the manager Larue ask me to leave. I ask for an explanation he couldn't give me one. After going back and forth with him for five minutes the supervisor tells him he's wrong and ask me to continue shopping. It's 2018 I'm a young black male never stole in my life. This was very unprofessional I'll never be a customer at another CVS.

  • Jqwerty Josaa

The pharmacy staff here is particularly terrible. The pharmacists themselves do their best, but the staff outside of the pharmacists are bad. Worse than other CVS pharmacies in Chicago and elsewhere. They are unfriendly and totally inept. Absolutely no sense of urgency or care for their customers. Corporate needs to do something about this location. Perhaps some training would be helpful for the staff.

  • Jasmine H

Pharmacy staff treats customers absolutely horribly. They provide inaccurate information which is detrimental to those attempting to fill a prescription and thus detrimental to the health of the community...but they don’t care. Hopefully, more training or accountability can be incorporated, but it’s sad that you have to commute to other locations to be treated better.

  • Polly Ellison

This is the worst pharmacy. They don't answer the phones. They do not to remove my cats prescriptions from auto refill despute repeated requests to do so. They continue to request refills from the wrong doctor leading to weeks of not having my medications. It doesn't matter if you speak to them in person or over the phone. Their incompetence is amazing

  • Ginna Roach

My partner and I had our first date here and it couldn’t have gone better. The nutter butters were top notch and the mystery Halloween Reese’s exquisitely seasoned. The 24-hour service can’t be beat, especially given that all the other low quality restaurants in Hyde park close hours earlier. Best dining and date experience I’ve had so far.

  • Bettye Igbenebor

Staff are unbelievably incapable of doing the simplest things. Won’t even pick up the phone. I called and waited on hold till it automatically hung up after 20 minutes. Did this several times with no response. they picked up once and as soon as i said hello they immediately hung up. Worst CVS ever. Don’t order your prescriptions here

  • David Klinger

I went to UChicago and took convenience store quality for granted. but then I moved to the south loop and experienced life with only BAD convenience stores. this is the best CVS in Chicago. if every store in hyde park had the same density of useful stuff we’d never have to order anything again. looking at you target

  • Dee Price

I just came out of this CVS and I actually had an amazing experience here! The manager (Menibtah) was very helpful and professional helping me with what I needed. The cashier (Earlene) was a very pleasant employee, she was kind, professional and with her work ethic she got the line down very quickly! Great job CVS!

  • &sndwhtifs

The pharmacy staff are very rude and short! There is no sense of customer service or politeness. Even when calling the wait time is sometimes 20+minutes, this is unacceptable! You'll be waiting in line no one will acknowledge or tell you to give them a minute and they'll be right with you etc... really sad!

  • Zen Trader

I thought the post office employed the most condensensing customer service representatives. Whoa, these women at that Hyde Park pharmacy must freelace as consultants in the field. I've gone there 6 times and never had a pleasant experience. And they clearly have issues with men - especially of color.

  • Andrea Holliday

I've had good experiences here. Tonight Yianni was the manager. They close at 8pm, I showed up at 7:47 and there was a problem with my antibiotic. Yianni found a workaround, so I could go home with the medicine I needed without paying extra. In fact, he found a better price than I had expected!

  • Darius Caldwell

I came into the pharmacy today for my DOT Exam and Dr. Hoskins was Phenomenal! Usually I feel unsafe and very misplaced but this time was different. She made me feel like I was in good hands and I couldn’t be more satisfied that she’s a neighborhood physician. Thank you again Doc.!

  • Sabrina Brown

Plenty of merchandise but there were too many people in the store at the time for the regular cash (NO CASHIERS IN ATTENDANCE TO WORK REGISTERS) registers not to work. I stood in line for about minute before I realized on this particular day SELF CHECKOUT WAS THE ONLY WAY TO GO!!!

  • Xander Dunn

The CVS at 53rd and Kimbark was fantastic. They immediately verified my insurance, they had all 6 medications prepared in under an hour, and they sent me text messages indicating their progress. They even caught an error in the prescription that Walgreens didn't mention.

  • Janice Jackson

The person answering the phone in pharmacy was nonchalant. She could benefit from lessons on phone ediquite. I asked if the CVS in Target might have my back order Losartan, and she replied " I don't know you can call them," Rude and unprofessional!

  • Lauren Poulson

This CVS has had issues putting my insurance through many times, and this would be okay if it were explained to me, but the people I speak to on the phone tend to be very rude and don't care whether or not I understand how to fix the problem.

  • Jill Wong

The store is ok,but when I want to check out since I was doing coupon I wanted on the cashier not the self check out but this cvs worker by the way insisting on self check out and when I do he pulled me out he said coupon is at cashier so

  • Marcelo Nobrega

The pharmacy never refills my prescriptions automatically as it should. I have to call every time and deal with rude pharmacists. In person they are worse, dripping with contempt and quickly dismissing me as if I was incapable (I am a

  • R. Gardner

Come in here often! The young lady I believe whose name is Kasmela is always so welcoming when I come in! She always greets me and asks me if i need any further assistance to let her know! Always a great and quick experience. Thank you

  • Phyllis Oladipo

I had one of the worst customer service experiences at Cvs Pharmacy at 1228 E. 53rd street. This man who you can see from behind in this photo has been trained to manage this store. He has no good interactive skills and I was told his

  • Amanda Murphy

I’m only giving one star because zero is not an option. The CVS pharmacy in Hyde Park is the worst place in America. The majority of the staff are unbelievably incompetent. I’ve had nothing but frustrating experiences at this place.

  • Francisco Meyer

Super pricey, but it's very convenient and has good variety. A lot of stuff is cheaper in the Walgreens on 55th nearby, but the convenience is just great and makes me keep going. They also have a Bank of America ATM in site!

  • Vincent Johnson

Have you been in a CVS before? Well this is just like that, except a little smaller. Nothing terribly wrong with it, but nothing super great about it either. It's just your average big box pharmacy/grocery/connivence store.

  • Emin Okic

Staff is beyond caring, and nice. Every member at this CVS works so hard to create a great experience. They do not get enough credit for all the work they do, and I appreciate this store's dedication to their customers.

  • Nancy Jackson

I can get my prescriptions, load debit cards, get money orders and shop for my toiletries all in one store. They also have easy self checkout that accepts all payments. They are open 24/7 and only 2 blocks from my home.

  • Perfect Peace

The staff was so impatient and distracted that they didn't return my drivers license or debit card, and I didn't realize it until I had gotten home later that night. I now worry that my identity may have compromised.

  • Matthew Lukens

OH MY GOD go to literally any other pharmacy than this one. A n y other. If you drop off expect to wait an hour. If they tell you just a minute (which they did with me) you will find out they are lying the hard way.

  • Reggie Brown

Great service for such a high-traffic store, sales items always in stock, Lead pharmacy Tech Stormy is super-efficient and very pleasant, and the Minute Clinic has been very convenient. Been going there for years.

  • N N

Worst CVS in the country. Pharmacy staff never answers phone, has terrible attitude, talks back, never listens , gives out WRONG information. Absolute liability and disgrace. Lazy people who don’t deserve jobs.

  • Robell McMiller

This is a wonderful place. People are nice and they go beyond their job duties. ]please understand your rating, if they don't have something it is not there fought. Write Corporate. Robell McMiller

  • Thomas Abers Lourenço

Worst drug store experience ever! Incredibly rude staff, both at the pharmacy and at the store itself. If possible, go to another CVS location or a different chain altogether

  • n n

Horrible, unprofessional staff. Don‘t do their job, don‘t answer phones, don‘t fill prescriptions a weel after they are submitted - bad, lazy workers with a rude attitude

  • L Prater

The Lead Pharmacist was EXCEPTIONAL with coordinating with other locations to get all of my prescriptions filled within a few hours. She was professional and courteous

  • Melanie Sholes

This store is in a great location. It has a good selection of personal care and hair care products, as well as everything you would expect to find in a drug store.

  • Morgan Hickey

There’s a woman named Stormy who works at the pharmacy counter and does an awesome job. She was working two registers when they were short handed and killing it.

  • Leah Sibbio Blue

There is always an issue with the pharmacy not being open or not billing my insurance correctly. Call before you go to make sure it's not a waste of your time

  • Felicia Tobias

Had to pick up my prescriptions. They were ready, did not have to wait. The young lady was very nice that greeted and waited on me. A pleasant experience!!

  • Fernando Medina

They need to hire people who actually help the customers. Unlike the so called manager Jessica! She needs to tone down her attitude asap or get fired.

  • Mimi Salgado

LEAST PROFESSIONAL PHARMACY EMPLOYEES. They would rather yell at you to leave than answer a reasonable question. I hope Tim dies.

  • adam guthrie

Worst pharmacy in Chicago. You will wait forever and if they tell you 20 minutes budget for at least 40.

  • Basel Melhem

The manager who wears a grey shirt probably wanted to be a police officer but failed the test

  • Jordan Breslau

shout out to the pharmacists who always go above and beyond! The best cvs in chicago for sure

  • Victoria Saramago

They are selling covid tests the FDA is strongly warning against and not accepting returns.
