"Great Beignets! Great eating them hot!"
The Cafe Beignet, Royal street, is just a small niche that could easily be overlooked. It’s right next door to the Eighth District Police Station. They serve sandwiches, pastries and of course hot Beignets. The food is good and reasonable and there is lots of seating with the courtyard next door. On some evenings there is also live music. An enjoyable place to eat.

I wish I could give Cafe Beignet on Royal Street 10 stars for atmosphere. To me, this charming spot IS New Orleans. A little French, a little Southern, a lot delicious. From the black and white tiled floor to the gorgeous palm and banana leaf fresco painted on the arched ceiling, this restaurant is a treat for all your senses. These are the best beignets in the city and, unlike that OTHER spot you heard about, you can get delicious sauces like chocolate, caramel and strawberry here to dip them in! The powdered sugar covered treats are large, soft and freshly made. We had breakfast here, beneath the gentle thinking of a crystal chandelier and I loved the salty muffaletta, perfectly made Belgian waffle and a pillow soft and buttery egg and cheese croissant! A note- there is a tiny public restroom here, at the back right of the cafe, always good to know about if you need to grab a coffee and use the facilities! I visit this lovely cafe every time I’m in the French Quarter and it charms me every time.

Visiting NOLA from New York, I heard about beignets and kind of assumed they'd be just funnel cakes. We went to Cafe du Monde on the first day and the beignets we had were to me, were basically funnel cakes. I left there feeling underwhelmed. On the last day of our trip we stopped in here to try theirs and it was a whole different experience. They were hot, and fluffy yet dense, and not at all like funnel cakes. They were absolutely delicious. The Cafe au laite with chicory root was also delicious here too, and also way better than the coffee at Cafe du Monde (which tasted like standard dinner coffee). Highly recommend! Also, the staff at this location was very friendly, and they have a nice courtyard, too.

Came in on our way across the country on the i10. Stopped first at the city bark with my son's service dog. Next stop cafe beignets. The friendly dog patio and the staff seemed to be in love with our dog. I ordered the gumbo and my son ordered the jambalaya. Both ordered chicory coffee and 3 beignets. The food was great, just the right portion size. Beignets were hot and fluffy pillows of yummyness. The coffee for me was perfect, my son said "it's good I like it" but didn't drink more than a sip, but again he is 14 and a member of the Starbucks generation. Thank you for making our very long trip a bit more memorable. My son and my first time in NOLA, but I hope it won't be our last.

Great Beignets! Great eating them hot!. There’s 3 locations however people have been telling me that the location on Royal St was better. You have a choice of outdoor seating in the garden or indoor. We chose the indoor as it is air conditioned. I chose ice coffee, the coffee was amazingly good. After you order & pay for it. They give you a number stand & wait for your beignets. For USD$4.50, you get 3 good sized beignets that comes out warm with generous sprinkling of powder sugar. The beignets were so soft, warm & fluffy. Not overly sweet, goes great with unsweetened cold coffee… Simply Blissful They even sells the Beignet Mix, of course I had to get one… bring back some memories.

I actually liked our visit here more than Cafe du Monde at Decatur for some reason. I guess coz although its busy, it has some coziness to it. We had a good spot just right by the entrance too where it didnt get too stuffy with the crowd, we get to people watch a bit had some outside breeze. We got the beignets and iced coffee only although they offer more from the menu compared to Cafe Du Monde. While their competitor had some crisp to their beignets, I find the doughnuts here at Cafe Beignet soft, warm and pillowy. Both shops have equally delicious beignets in my opinion but I just love the vibe and area here. my only beef with the place is that the wait is terribly long and line was slow moving. Im usually okay with wait times but with their NOLA weather it does tend to get me a little restless and impatient but i managed haha

Quaint little Cafe with indoor, outdoor sidewalk or garden sitting. Quick service after ordering from walk-up cashier area, you can take a seat order is bought to table if eating in. All areas were clean, staff pleasant being greeted with smiles & food very good. I visited several times while in New Orleans for the Essence Festival & July 4th weekend

After reading such many good reviews of this place decided to stop in this one particular because of the outdoor atmosphere and curiosity as well. I had coffee which was very good, the beignets were perfect but the sandwich I had came with some vegetables, the arugula was in bad condition, not sure if maybe because of the rush or poor quality control but it was not a good thing. For such a beautiful place plus having tons of customers I think you guys should encourage quality on your processes, specially in the vegetable selection, preservation and final product.

Breakfast ...love the patio. I am not a chocolate fan but the beignet was great! The star was the breakfast sandwich though. Their bacon in the croissant tastes like smoked ham. Omg it was so so so good. It took me to a smoking pit with a fresh hog in my mind. Their coffee sucks though. Pass on that. I can drink most coffee but we both tossed ours-- ugh

Charming little shop in the heart of the French Quarter. Between the painted ceiling, the artwork on the walls, and the antique bistro tables, the ambiance is quite pleasant. We had the Elephant ear and of course the beignet. The Elephant ear, partially dipped in chocolate, was very tasty. It is flaky, mildly sweet, and delightful. The beignet... I mean these were amazing. These piping hot, freshly made doughy treats are soft, sweet, dense, and delicious. This is a must visit when in the French Quarter.

The most popular morning breakfast if the famous New Orleans Beignet at Cafe Beignet, 311 Bourbon Street, a charming bistro. My hubby couldn’t wait to get one. They are soft, airy, tasty deep fried fritter pastry with lots of powdered sugar. Be sure to have a napkin to cover your clothes, the sugar goes everywhere, but worth every bite.

First stop for food was breakfast beignets and they did not disappoint. Food cooked fresh to order, real eggs and real grits. Beignets were soft, pillowy, sweet (but not too sweet), fried perfectly (not greasy) and served with right amount of powdered sugar. Smaller dine In restaurant so it can get cramped, better to sit outdoors.

Nice little spot to grab a bite to eat and listen to some NOLA-based musicians. On hot days, they have mist fountains which js particularly nice, especially at the end of August. Food is decent but to be expected of a small cafe, nice employees. Definitely recommend as a spot to sit down for a moment!

I truly enjoyed the flavor and texture of my veggie omelette and grits. However, the size was extremely disappointing. I'm not sure if they were short on eggs today, but it was literally half the size of regular omelette. I could have eaten two more! These plates are smaller than those in the area. The beignets were good, but could have been a little softer to me.

Can’t speak on their beignets, but the crawfish etouffee wasn’t it. Filling but smelled fishy and I wouldn’t do it again. The hot foods give a bit of a convenience store energy with presentation and appearance. Not sure if it’s from frozen. The service and atmosphere was great.

Came here to order beignets to go. There was a line when I arrived but the workers were able to get it down. It’s 3 beignets in an order and they came out hot, fresh, and dusted with powdered sugar. They were delicious! Eating these treats is a must whenever you’re visiting New Orleans! More
The long wait is worth it to sit outside in the cute shaded courtyard. The food is decent, but the beignets are obviously the star.

Of course I had to make a stop at Café Beignet and try the iconic New Orleans Beignets! They are served fresh, hot, and cooked to order. Delicious and great texture, crispy outside and a soft, sweet center covered with powdered sugar, you can only order 3 or more. More
Haven’t had to many beignets in my life, but these definitely are the best ones I’ve ever had. Very fluffy and soft! Also had a crawfish omelette that was pretty good. Would definitely come back again and recommend others to try out the good looking menu! More

It was the battle of the beignets and café beignet on Royal Street did not disappoint. We ordered the classic beignets and was thoroughly surprised by the quantity compared to the price. The line was long when we arrived, but moved fairly
If you want an absolutely amazing New Orleans French Quarter, beignet without all the touristy lines, and wait that comes with Cafe du Monde, then Cage Beignet is your place. It is an inviting atmosphere with the aroma of fresh beignets,
Went for the 2023 Halloween Weekend and to celebrate my birthday. The service was great, the line was long, the bigger was NOT GOOD it was to hard and no taste. Dry bread too much power sugar. More
I loved my experience here. Very delicious beignets, lots of powdered sugar, great coffee. A cute location. Can be very crowded and expect to not find a table. More
