As a local I hold high expectations for anyone claiming to serve any traditional New Orleans cuisine but I’ve got to say envie hits the nail on the head. The creole country understood the assignment to start the boudin taste as it’s supposed to from texture to kick like the biscuit strong yet soft with just the right amount of perfectly cooked over medium egg yolk the chef was on game that day for sure I recommend layin the bottom biscuit down smooth the boudin over add an egg some crystal hot sauce and chomp down but be shore to aim that perfectly cooked egg yolk over some sugar downed grits(I added the sugar) Because that’s gunna bring it all together as a true traditional way to enjoy a worthy to be called creole breakfast I have to add the coffee is bomb af but if your asking about the frappes you should know they are most definitely addictive with more flavors then you can drink in a day without risking cardiac arrest. But it’s the accuracy of the flavor coupled with the robust coffee aftertaste without that bitter kick that is honestly impressive I highly recommend

With tons of coffee shops in the French Quarter it is hard to stand out. Envie Expresso Bar has managed to do just that. One of the oldest and most popular with locals spots in the Quarter. The service is super friendly and quick. The coffee is strong and the place is kept neat and tidy. A fun place to stop.

I have been to this place over and over during my trip to New Orleans because this coffee shop has the best food, drinks, treats, and atmosphere. The hot chai in a mug is perfect to sip on while finishing work. Their cakes (carrot, red velvet, etc) are delicious. One caveat is that this place shows some wear and tear. The electric ports have loosened over time and I have not been able to truly plug in my chargers to charge my phone or laptop, so bring fully charged devices if you come here to work. Also, some of the sofa seats are torn but comfy.

My husband and I came here every morning during our stay in the French Quarter. It's busier during weekend mornings, naturally, but there's quick turnaround of customers and it's not a terrible wait. The staff are genuine and chill. Plus they whip out drinks + food in good time. We got the Breakfast N' A Go Cup and lattes each morning. It's all very yummy. I super appreciate all the dairy free milk options. And seriously get that Breakfast N' A Go Cup, it's layered with gravy, hashbrowns, eggs, grits, and topped with a couple slices of bacon/pieces of sausage.

Quaint little chill coffee shop on Decatur street. This place has friendly affordable service and beautiful local art on the walls. If you want a hot breakfast that will fill you up and stick to your ribs, order the breakfast in a go cup! Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, grits and gravy with some greens sprinkled on for some healthy color. It’s delish!! I go there at least once every time I come to Nola!! Enjoy one of their many coffee drinks too…there really is something for everybody!

Really unique place!!! Within a doable walking distance to many hotels, we came here after reading reviews and were nothing but impressed. Tons of different coffee and flavoring options, the food was really good, and the pastries were fantastic. The staff was super friendly, and the service was quick even with the constant flow of people. Would definitely recommend!!!

I’m just visiting and decided to stop in after visiting the Jazz museum. It was a really great find. The boozy tea is great, the alcohol wasn’t overpowering and the drink actually tasted good. I also tried shrimp & grits for the first time, after being a vegetarian for 11 years. It was wonderful! My boyfriend stole two of my shrimp because they were so good. Wish I had gotten pics of our main dishes, but we devoured it. The bakery and pastries are wonderful too! The fruit is fresh and I loved the home made cream cheese. This came home with me for dessert later.

Our tour guide recommended us this spot for their great breakfast as well as for its great location and it didn't disappoint. It feels big and airy with plenty of options, you can have it as healthy or as cheesy as you want. Their jasmine tea cocktail was absolutely delicious, and their croissant breakfast sandwich was amazing. Friendly and efficient service, a great spot to combine brunch with people watching and a great ambiance.

Envie is the best coffee shop in the quarter . The baristas are off and in meaning sometimes nice other times not so much . The food is good . The plus here is you can add alcohol to your coffee . The drink selection is fierce ! It can get kinda stuffy inside so I like to take my drink and walk around or sit outside and talk to all the freaks . This is a local hangout for many and a often used as a meetup for groups . Lines can be long . Bathrooms are often just ok . I do like that local artists are able to showcase their work here. ATM available inside .

A nice cafe inside French quarter area. It was decently packed. There were sittings both inside and outside. The ambiance was laid back and people were chilling. We got some coffee and a slice of chocolate pastry. the layered pastry with some chocolate ganache frosting was pretty decent. It’s big in size, so one slice can be easily shared by both. The coffee was great. I got an iced mocha. It was not too sweet. There was some foods available too, although I didn’t try.

Even on an earlier Sunday morning after a long night of hurricanes and grenades this place is serving up fat stacks of French toast and for yours truly, a nice cup of decaf Americano. The price for the quad Americano, equivalent to a large, was $3.80. This is overpriced for the rather bitter tasting coffee, but the open air vibes and casual music makes for a great breakfast spot with the family or a place to read the book at the top of your reading list. The fruit danish had me very tempted as it looked very delicious.

We found this little gem on our first morning here in New Orleans. We are on a different time zone and this place opens earlier than most around. The staff are so sweet and welcoming. And the food is very delicious. The carrot cake is Amazing! And our ten year old swears they have the best everything bagels and cream cheese. Their menu options are plentiful and delicious. We will be looking forward till we come down and eat here again.

Terrible cook staff. Terrible to their customers. The cook cussed me out and blamed me for trashing the bathroom when I didn’t even go in it. He physically violated me and disrespected me, called me white trash (he is black) and they double charged me for my food on my card because of the incident. And I didn’t even do ANYTHING AT ALL!

What a great way to start the day in this wonderful city! I liked the first visit so much, I came back the following 2 mornings :) Shrimp & Grits, Creole Breakfast (with Pork Boudin sausage which was new to me) and their traditional egg/sausage/bacon/biscuit breakfast were all phenomenal, as was their dark roast coffee. Nothing "fancy" here, just wonderful quality food and coffee served by good people who WANT to put a smile on your face. Great place to people/dog watch as you enjoy your breakfast too.

  • L. Edwards

It was worth the wait in the long line! On a visit to New Orleans, this cafe popped up in the list as one of the best breakfast places in the French Quarter. So of course we had to try it. The four of us each ordered a different meal on the menu. I ordered the Creole or Cajun Breakfast (I can’t remember the name). Everyone was happy with their choices!

Best espresso ! We are two Aussies that love our coffee, after three weeks in Canada and US mostly getting brewed coffee or Starbucks how delightful to find this gem of a place. Their signature hamburger and Cakes are also great. Do yourself a favour and and visit Envie- go on the street car to the last stop at the French Quarter. It’s only a three minute walk from there and you can call-in at the markets too for a great experience!⭐️⭐️

Had a great breakfast here on Saturday the 4th of December 2021. We beat the crowd and ate inside on a crisp morning. I had eggs, boudin sausage and grits. Everything tasted great, especially liked the grits. Outstanding customer service. If I stay in New Orleans again, I’ll be sure to eat here.

So delicious. We were walking by and I had to stop in to try their coffee. I loved it. The latte was wonderful. They had milk alternative options which is always nice. I asked the barista what he recommended and I got a latte with irish cream and toffee nut. I was very impressed and really wanted to back the next day. We also ordered some pastries. They were not the best. Not bad but kinda dry. I wouldnt order cake there again. This place is definitely worth the stop.

Cool coffee shop In a quiet area of the quarter. Great coffee and breakfasts. Open air with tables in and out. Busy but much quicker service than a Starbucks. And the coffees and full breakfast lineup are much Metter and reasonable.

This place is great, for sure the best coffee in the close area. They are typically busy mornings/weekends (as is every place in the quarter), so plan accordingly, but the wait is worth it. They have a LOT of coffee and food options, so you're sure to find something you're into. The staff is also really kind and efficient. Even if the line is long, it'll go pretty fast. The indoor/outdoor seating is really awesome.

  • Greg Johnson

The bar is on the north east side of the French quarter, by the French Market. The food price is a littleup there, but that is not unusual for french quarter prices. I ordered a shrimp and grits and an omellette. With a large unsweet tea , ot got a little pricy. I was the only one eating from what I can tell. The service was good however. I would return for that alone and their selection of hot heat. I do recommend

Really nice coffee shop with exceptional service. Today I enjoyed a Chocolate Coffee Martini with a Blueberry Muffin, which were both great. I also tasted a friend's Butterfinger Brownie which was delicious, more soft than chewy but the pieces of butterfinger were front and center. I will definitely swing by again while in the area.

Nearly every where we went the coffee is weak. So we were recommended this place as a good place for coffee. So we tried it. SO glad we did. The first good cup of coffee we had since we arrived in town. Others say it's strong. I say it's delicious and others are crazy. Next time I come to town for a visit, I'll be coming here. Oh the guys taking the order and making it we're nice, helpful and quick.

  • Christopher Dere

I will refer to it as Bohemian cafe. A local cafe with few tourist. The pricing of the food and drink is appropriate. The portion size is correct. Their biscuits that come with the breakfast platter are very good. If you need to charge your food while eating, sit at a table by a pillar. Multiple plug-ins available. When I am in New Orleans, this will be one of the places that I eat Breakfast.

We ordered a Gutterpunk and a Traditional Irish Coffee and both were excellent. Gutterpunk is sweet but not overbearing and had just a little creaminess to smooth it out. In the afternoon, service is a little slow with a line but highly recommend.

Great little coffee shop and cafe. Coffee is really good! They have a huge variety of coffee types and flavors as well as food and pastries. The best part was that the coffee here was super cheap! Two coffees that were "Grande" sized compared to Starbucks for the prices of what one Grande would cost at Starbucks!

Nice little coffeehouse with a funky, somewhat artistic vibe. Excellent breakfast choices with great people watching. We personally had the traditional breakfast, French toast plate, and an omelet plate. All were fantastic, both before and since the pandemic (June 2021). Also good for an evening cup of coffee.

The Envie Espresso Bar and Cafe is the absolute essence of what a very good coffee shop should be: competent staff, great coffee, good food, good comfortable atmosphere and great people watching. It helps that the Envie is in the Marigny District and safely away from the French Quarter tourist scene.

Tried the New Orleans iced coffee… Wasn’t a big fan. I had to add so much sugar and cream to make it palatable. My husband drank his black tho and liked it. If you’re a flavored latte coffee drinker, I would get something else. However if you’re a black coffee drinker, you might enjoy it. More

Good coffee and good choice of food here. The food is good but a little pricy. Of course you are in the middle of the tourist section

One of the best coffee houses in the city. Has the feel of a little Parisian cafe. Top notch.
