Okay here we go, I'm going to break my review into different areas. Atmosphere: Arriving to camper grounds I was immediately struck by the juxtaposition between the area the restaurant Cafe is located and the design of the Cafe itself. Its located smack bang in the middle of industrial type businesses. So honestly the surrounding buildings are not appealing and may put some folks off. But the cage itself is very well designed and very aesthetically pleasing. In some ways the contrast with its surrounding area makes the cafe appear more visually appealing. Across the cage is some green area, but it didn't seem obvious to me driving by. Inside the grounds of the Cafe is quite nice, from front to back, dining table to bathroom. I took some photos to illustrate. Overall it's a solid 5/5 in this regard. Service: service people were definitely pleasant, attentive, responsive, and appeared to work hard and fast. Also solid 5/5. Food: we had a private function with 8 adults and a couple of kids. We ordered the camp feast set menu. Everyone was happy with the quality and quantity of the food. I did have one issue with the food, which was pricing. But I'll cover that next. Food is solid 5/5 Pricing: overall I did feel the place is more expensive than equivalent cafes. Although I cannot fault the food, I simply think the type of food, complexity, and quantity did not justify the price tag. By this, I only mean by a small but noticeabe enough margin. For example, the set menu was $55, but I felt maybe $50 seemed more where'd I expect it. The coffee were $5, whereas equivalent cafes can have them for $4.50, which may not sound like much, but is %10 more dearer. There was a 10% weekend surcharge which I found somewhat unusual. Public holidays is common for surcharge, Sunday as well, but a Saturday? I certainly thought that my be a stretch. Finally the straw that breaks the camel back for me which made me feel compelled to lower my score by a whole point is the price of the orange juice. So the orange juice was $4.50+weekend surcharge, but the quantity is a standard cup. Not a tall glass, but a standard 250ml cup it seemed with ice. I simply could not accept the price for the quantity, Nd really hope the venue considers serving tall glasses of orange juice as they do with the soft drink and lemonade, which I though was a bit more fair in price but still exoensive as well. Because my boys only like orange, I felt I had no other option but to access the price, but I disregard strongly in principle. Pricing score is a 3/5, and definitely a cafe for those splashing out or more financially privileged. Location: as described earlier, location is not fantastic. Solid 2/5 as I personally disliked the limited street parking and surrounding industrial businesses. Overall a solid 4/5. With slightly cheaper prices and fairer quantity for some menu items, I can see this place being perfect and I could have been a rear myself. But as is, it is a "sometimes" or "occasional" visit for me personally.

I absolutely LOVE wood-fired pizza. This is a great concept but poorly executed. I had visited on Saturday 11th, which was the week of their opening, and was not able to be seated as they said they were fully booked out which is completely fair. So I immediately made a booking for the following next Saturday 18th, 6:30pm for a party of 2. Approximately 1 hour before my booking, I get a confirmation message saying my booking is at 7pm which was then followed by a direct text message from one of their team members that my booking had to be moved to an even later time of 7:15pm because their booking system did not leave enough times in between seatings. I responded to confirm that my original booking time was 6:30pm and I expect to be seated at 6:45pm the absolute latest as the new time was much later than my booked time + I made the booking 1 week prior since I was not able to be seated that week as well. They were instantly able to provide my 6:30pm seating back but at the pizza bar bench section (which was tiny) although there were empty tables throughout my entire time there. I understand those tables would have been reserved already but if they were empty the entire time then we could’ve been seated there especially if it’s just 2 people. We arrived and was guided to our seats but the chairs weren’t even ready yet (it was stored with baby high chairs) so I assume it was a bench that they don’t usually seat people and they had quickly just put us there because I wanted my original 6:30pm booking. Moving forward, staff on both occasions were very friendly. Food came out surprisingly very fast; within 15 minutes. However, the food itself - a disappointment. Very stingy on the toppings. I usually love eating the crust and never leave it behind but for this I had to because the entire thing felt like just eating bread itself. It lacked flavour and was incredibly mediocre. But the main reason we were put off is that there was a lot of smeared specks of charcoal throughout the whole base underneath the pizzas. Every bite was bitter and burnt tasting. We thought we were the only ones experiencing this but another reviewer had also mentioned this. The arancini balls were large and crispy but also lacked character as it was just a plain, fried, cheesy rice ball with no other flavours or seasonings. Having the ice cream stall and camping games is incredibly wholesome. But situated right at the front of the entrance where people have to line up and constantly go in and out is a bit of a nuisance. Especially packed full of kids that are constantly running around everywhere and everyone is just blocking the path. I would say I’m disappointed as I had higher expectations since they have been in business for a decade with their food truck. With prices matching many big named Italian restaurants that produce impeccable quality wood-fired pizzas, this was no where close to being equivalent. I was really hoping this would be a local gem for wood-fired pizza as there’s not many around here but there’s definitely a lot of room for improvement.
Walked in on a Friday dinner here with friends for a good feed and drinks and it certainly did not disappoint! First thing that made us feel good about the area is the warmth and accommodating vibe of the staff, welcoming you with a nice smile and even though we arrived without any booking, they were able to offer us a seat. Despite the crowds on a Friday night, it was amazing to have the food that we ordered served in less than 20 mins! Goes to show how efficient the people are in the kitchen. Started with the happytisers, which I find amusing and witty as it sounded true to its name! Definitely cannot miss the variety of handmade fresh arancini (bronte, spinaci <3) and rocket pear salad. It was a nice pairing with the cocktails, which I must warn everyone that is a killer! The punch is there, and it is the kind of feeling you would want to have in your pre dinner tipples! Take that Lychee Martini or Petrina and thank me later! For the mains, we have tried the BBQ chicken and burrata di parma and you can’t get wrong with these 2!!! The serving was huge, the pizza base has a firm outer layer so it didn’t feel soggy at all and becomes soft and chewy in the center. Highlight of the night for us was the Nduja pappardelle. It is amazing how the blending of flavors came into play. Imagine a rich creamy sauce balanced with the beautiful spicy-ness of the nduja with a little hint of vinegar! It’s such an intriguing mix of flavors that you shouldn’t miss! And lastly to finish off the night, we had the tiramisu which was H E A V E N! It was the right kind of booozyy but at the same time light and fluffy! Best part is that it is made in house so you know that this version will only be found here! Excited to see the potential of this massive establishment that respects quality and fine ingredients above all, without compromising dedicated customer service. Will definitely be back to see new interesting installments on the space and ideas within the menu!

To preface, I love it when a local business opens nearby and wholeheartedly support them with my all, but unfortunately our experience tonight was profoundly disappointing, both in service and food quality. Was recommended to come here by my sister who had went a week before and advised to definitely book ahead. We reserved prior for a table during dinner at 6:30pm. We arrived and were told that there were no inside tables available, and led to the outdoor side park bench seating area presumably for parents with kids/prams and a play area; with promise of moving to a proper table once other guests had left. Sadly this was not the case, despite seeing patrons come and go from the tables in front of us during the time we were there. As such, we were corralled into a side path overlooked by a domineering wall and children amok amongst tired parents, where staff had forgotten us; given empty glasses for most of our meal. There was a clear demarcation of atmosphere between our seats and the formal indoor dining area. Nevertheless we were here for the woodfire pizzas and were cautiously optimistic. We ordered appetisers (arancini and croquettes) and pizzas which were lackluster, whilst being priced as other comparable woodfire pizza restaurants i.e. Tempo. The appetisers were just fried balls with nil flavour but I digress. The pizzas were burnt in some areas, bitter and had to be cut with our knives to free them from one another - overcooked. We left much of our crusts as it was far too difficult to chew through the slice itself already. To portray this, one of the waitresses must have thought we were too full as she asked to clear out the remaining slices even though we were still eating our first pizza. All in all, staff were friendly, yet service was lingering and leisurely, and the quality of food was discouraging for how much it cost. My disappointment was immeasurable and dinner was ruined, as we head to the nearby Maccas afterwards.

Disappointing Experience at Campground Kitchen My visit to Campground Kitchen with my wife, unfortunately, left much to be desired. Our order of two 300 gr grass-fed porterhouse steaks, sous vide to medium-rare, alongside a rocket and parmesan salad, seemed promising on paper. However, the reality was a letdown. For my wife, who is pregnant and requested her steak well-done, the kitchen's refusal due to the chef being "too busy" was both surprising and disappointing, especially given the apparent lack of busyness in the restaurant. Furthermore, the quality of the dishes was subpar. My steak, priced at $39, was disappointingly comprised of nearly 100-150 grams of sinew, reducing the enjoyment of what should have been a premium cut. Additionally, the accompanying rocket and parmesan salad was underdressed and lacked flavour, failing to live up to the expectations set by the price. Comparatively, a meal at the Plough Hotel in Footscray offers a stark contrast. There, one can enjoy a steak without the issue of sinew, accompanied by a flavourful salad, fries, and condiments, all for a similar price. This comparison highlights the lack of passion and care in the food at Campground Kitchen. The salmon ordered by my partner, though agreed to be cooked well-done, was overly oily and not flavourful, further accentuating the inconsistencies in the kitchen's execution. The absence of attentive customer service compounded our disappointment. No staff inquired about our satisfaction with the meals, possibly indicating an awareness of the kitchen's shortcomings. In essence, what should have been a nice meal turned out to be a showcase of bland, passionless cooking and substandard service. Regrettably, we left Campground Kitchen resolved not to return, especially when there are far better options available, offering superior quality and value in the western community.
10 out of 10 goes to this new local gem! I made a last minute (two days notice) booking for a large table of 22 for my birthday. We decided to meet in the afternoon to enjoy the Sunday arvo live music. All of my guests commented on how amazing this place is. The food is delicious and fresh. I had the pumpkin gnocchi and the crème brûlée. I heard standout reviews from my family about their pizzas. My sister said she had the best bruschetta she has ever tasted. I snuck in a few cheeky cocktails to celebrate. A special Halloween chilli margarita and a delicious lychee martini. The service was flawless and friendly. We had a few kids with us and they provided games and colouring pencils. The live music was brilliant. Honestly, I couldn’t have picked a better venue for my birthday. I know this is going to be our new “go to” venue for parties and gatherings. I can’t wait to bring more fiends here, and I know all my guests will be returning. Well done to the owners Sonia and Remi and everyone involved in creating such a beautiful place for us Westie’s to enjoy!

I have been waiting so long for Campground Kitchen to open and I have to say, it was worth the wait! What an absolute vibe Sonia and Remi have created. The menu: Apart from their wide variety of delish pizzas, they offer everything from antipasto boards, salads, gelato, cocktails, and probably the best arancini I have ever tried on their menu! The service: Big ups to the staff who were TOTALLY under the pump when we were there but were still smiling, super friendly and did a great job serving us. The space: You can choose to sit in the main indoor dining space with its high industrial ceilings and giant French doors, "The Garden" with its lush vertical garden, "The Cabin" is perfect for groups. For me you can't go past the seats up at the pizza bar. It is THE place to be - right up in the action of the woodfire oven and kitchen. Side note: sounds weird but you must check out the bathrooms. Just gorgeous. You'll get what I mean when you go! Can't wait to come back!

We've been here a few times and it's been truly extraordinary. The food has been beautiful but it's been so much more than great pizza and pasta and drinks. The staff and management...(we are forever-grateful to the lovely Jana, front of house Superstar who makes our daughter Evie feel so welcome and so special!!!!!) make it exceptional. It feels like more than just a business. It feels genuine...it feels like a labour of love, there's such attention to detail everywhere. I admire their courage in taking an obvious risk and locating it in an unknown corner of Braybrook. I've never done a google review before but I'd love to see people supporting this place. If Campground Kitchen was in West Footscray or Seddon or Yarraville you'd be waiting months to get a table. So do yourself a favour and give it a try! (I know the above sounds like an ad but I truly don't know these people, I just think that there's something extraordinary about this place and I'd love to see people come out and support it).

Another local west side gem. I’ve been meaning to visit this funky new pizzeria for a while now. We went here for a friend’s birthday and really enjoyed the whole experience. From the rustic camper van vibes to the smoking delicious wood fired pizza. Their decor and layout is so unique, with an outdoor seating area, mini fire at night and they even have a cute little gelato stand outside. This warehouse turned into a restaurant is so cool! Not to mention…. Their bathrooms are also beautiful We ordered one of their special pizzas being their honey ham one and it was amazing. Would highly recommend anyone trying this out. Their ragu pasta was also one of my favourites. I used to buy their pizzas when they were a food truck / van and to see them expand to such a successful and large business is amazing Thank you for such a lovely time! My friends and I had a fantastic dinner and they were so accomodating.

Had a mild experience here, Concept is amazing. Parking is terrible when busy. Staff are very welcoming and happy to help. There are baby chairs here if required. Price Range: (Excessive) If you want a filling/tasteful experience expect to spend $40 per head. Ignoring the cost for drinks and experience unless you want to spend $20 minimum on a decent drink. Ordered a ‘Pineapple juice for $4.50 came in a standard glass youd get a Jack Daniel’s and coke from a pub in with a quarter of it filled with ice. I do understand concept for the drinks but for $4.50 id expect their tall glasses. Their Cocktails are amazing and in line with general pricing. The Pizza’s on the main front lacked taste for quantity and cost. A 20% increase in toppings would make people return no doubt. The garlic pizza lacked taste. Jalapeño Bites were great but lacked crunch. Mac and cheese bites were great! No issues here! The desert pizza’s felt like i was eating more bread then sweets. Overall experience? I wont come back unless invited by friends.

First of all pizza was really great but as an experience for customer service, it was really poor. The decor was there, rustic and beautiful just like the pictures but it lacked customers service. We arrived there not knowing it was a private function, to be honest we felt like we were intruding the party. The section that we booked were meant to be for new customer to be seated but it seems like the rest of the private party guest used the entire space anyways. We didn't feel very welcomed and not long after we finished, 2 more customers who I assumed booked was also confused if they were suppose to be there. Your're staff seemed overwhelmed with the private function which understandable, but if you can't handle a function and handle new customers then maybe block off the booking for the period. It wasn't the best experience for us and a bit disappointed because we were here from recommendation. Nothing wrong with the food, it's perfectly fine just disappointed by customer service.

Finally got to Campground Kitchen after craving to go for a year…and I wasn’t disappointed Immediately cute & welcoming with its little front yard that had a gelato stand set up Walking past that to the main dining hall we were greeted with a big smile & shown to a table The menu wasn’t huge…but so many great sounding dishes means we will have to return…& then the specials menu, which all sounded amazing too! My daughter had the kid’s margarita, we had the Happy Camper & a special pizza & my son had the pesto prosciutto All of them were great! The bases were consistently good, light & fluffy & just the perfect amount of wood fired oven char Glancing around surrounding tables with FOMO based on the pasta dishes other diners enjoyed meant we immediately said we would return… Great little sections to explore, corn hole, little areas for kids to play Amazingly friendly & attentive staff Tick, tick, tick!

Had our baby shower at campground kitchen and the food was amazing and plentiful at a very reasonable price. They catered to our dietary requirements (gluten free and dairy free for certain guests) and ensured they were fed and looked after. Everyone commented how fantastic the food and service was. The staff at this place is fantastic and they were caring and considerate from the moment we decided to book right up until the end of our night. A few families wanted to get together and enjoy a meal with a multitude of kids in tow. I called the venue approximately 500 times to change the number attending... each time the staff were accommodating and friendly, nothing was too much of a bother! We had a group of 24 people, 10 adults and 14 kids; the kids were entertained with the activities outside and had their own table. The adults enjoyed good beer, great food and wonderful service, making our Sunday night filled with cheesy goodness! I recommend the mac and cheese croquettes and the shroom pizza. I think we ordered almost all of the pizzas on the menu and I don't recall a single slice going to waste. I particularly enjoyed watching the staff sing to each other behind the bar and laugh at their workmate when he dropped a pizza :) It was a lovely atmosphere, with plenty of friendly and helpful staff. We will be back!
I’ve been 4 times since Campgrounds opened, once with a work group of 20 people, once on a date night with my husband, once with a girlfriend and just recently for Father’s Day with my two young kids. The staff have been consistently amazing! They’re attentive, always going above and beyond each time. On every occasion, the team have been happy, accommodating even as they progressively get busier, they haven’t packed the same energy and effort with customers. The food is great! And the cocktails are even better. Love the fire outside and the games set up for the kids. Really love that we have this little gem in our neighbourhood. Keep up the amazing work guys!

We were 20ppl visiting the venue on a Thursday night at 6:30pm for a chilled company dinner - we loved it! I had pre-booked the food to make it easier for the venue and us.. as some were running late, the venue took initiative (and asked us) to send half the entrees, then send the other half when all had joined. We then had pastas, plenty of pizzas and desserts to follow. Food was great - simple and delicious. The pizza base/bread is yum! The waitress/host was upselling cocktails and beers in a very friendly manner...looked after our vegans...and even a little 4year old with colouring-in and special dessert (who came along with her dad). We will definitely come back, and as our company is based near by i expect some to come here for lunch too. Thanks to Sonia and the team for being so accommodating!

Fun times, great vibes. Big warehouse converted into a pizza + beer/wine bar, with heaps of free parking and kid-friendly space. The whole idea is based off taking your kids away from devices, into a campground, and play. There are lots of giant kid-friendly toys, and outdoor shack that could double up as a private meeting/birthday area. They have 6/7 pizzas, and because they don't have a huge list of pizza options, they do it well. I'd never think of eating blue cheese and figs on a pizza, but hey I was sold in my first bite. Sonia, Remi and the team have had a difficult few years what with Covid and a terrible fire in late 2021 in the same warehouse, but they've always thrived in adversity. A wonderful family business to support. - from a fellow Inner West business owner :)

I tried the vegan Pizza Diavolo, which was unfortunately not as good as my wife's Capricciosa. The vegan cheese was lacking, and the vegan salami had an odd aniseed taste. The pizza wasn't bad, just not fantastic.

We visited Campground Kitchen and were immediately welcomed into the very well appointed restaurant. The space had character and was really inviting. We ordered our meals and they didn’t disappoint. The starters were flavoursome and our main two different wood fired pizza was amazing, using good quality fresh ingredients made eating the pizza all the better. We followed with a beautiful tiramisu and lemon meringue tart and a couple of cheeky espresso martini’s. The only thing missing was a nice coffee but we were assured that was coming. Well done Sonia, Remi and team, we will be back!! Alex and Fiona

After months of planning to have our wedding at this venue,,liasoning with the management, you know who you are!,We came to the conclusion that this venue wasn't interested,,we would have been their 1st lgbtq+ couple, which we felt we were going to be their novelty couple at our expense,,poor menu and drinks package,no follow up, excuse after excuse,,and a huge lack of interest, which was offensive to us,,after cancelling our wedding at this establishment, we were told by email, that we hope you come back for lunch or dinner. I do not recommend this place to any couple wishing to share their special day in their life to the experience that we got.

If you haven’t tried Campground Kitchen out yet, what are you waiting for!! We decided to try out this hidden local and what a gem we found The staff were amazing and very attentive! While looking at drink options, we were recommended a local beer, and the recommendation didn’t disappoint. I love being able to simply order from the table, at your own pace; no having to say “oh sorry we just need another few minutes” The good was so good, that we ordered again after finishing our first lot of food. The pizza was cooked to perfection! Atmosphere and venue are by far the best I’ve seen out in the west! Can not wait to go back

We are happy that Campground Kitchen has provided a dog-friendly private cabin that is very cozy and warm. Not a lot of places do that. We had the “Feed Me” option and the serving was so generous. Tucked away in the back streets of Braybrook Campground Kitchen is a pleasant, wholesome and refreshing eatery which ticks all the boxes. Fresh ingredients, friendly service, an open and inviting space all come together for a lovely meal. Coupled with clean, modern amenities with an upbeat atmosphere make this restaurant worthwhile to visit. I suggest you book as it can get busy during peak. It may or may not be your thing yet you order from your phone via a Mr. Yum's backed website, however, it does help for large groups. Thanks to all for making my birthday lunch memorable!

First time visit. Thursday night so not that busy. Greeted with a smile, and seated table for two. Offered water, the a drink list. Allowed us time to settle before food menus appeared.. Had a three course meal with a few beers and cleaned all plates. Pizzas, traditional, were really nice (woodfired) and so were the entrees and sweets. Will be returning hopefully soon. Only downer was there is no coffee on the menu, strange as it's an Italian style cuisine. But really enjoyed the night.

Very disappointing experience, we booked online, once we arrived and were seated we were told we could Only order from the pizza menu as the kitchen was busy with a private function. (Nothing about this on the website or we would have booked another night) We thought ok that’s not to bad, but would have liked to try a variety of dishes. My Gluten free pizza came out pretty burnt, was barely edible. Then to our surprise the tables around us were offered the full menu to order whatever they wanted. So we are quite annoyed at this service or lack of. We were really excited to try this place, but won’t be back.
What a beautiful venue! We had an amazing feast for lunch today, a couple of pics included here, enjoying it all too much to take pics of everything. Cocktails with local gin maker Route 109 to kick off, epic grazing board, delish pasta specials, classic pizza & Toblerone ice-cream to top it off. Pic of pizzas includes a GF for my friend, which I’m not, but thoroughly enjoyed as well! Atmosphere was great, had no idea there was a kid zone out the back it’s so neatly placed. Loved the garden/greenery wall, plants make the place feel lush and inviting! Would be a superb venue for functions and events.
Great venue food was awesome. Hot salami Pizza is a bomb then we had Nduja Papardelle & Wood Oven Rigatoni And Fontina..gave service 3 stars only because had pizza first to share then my wife received her Wood Oven Rigatoni And Fontina which the kitchen forgot my dish wife finished her dish received mine 5 minutes after wife finished her dish.. lucky the food was great hopefully improvements are made... regards

I can’t really fault this place. Even though it was at full capacity, the service was still swift. The wait staff were great; food was really nice. Great drinks list. GF options were a big bonus. Recommend. And will definitely be back. Perfect for large groups, and kids.

Outdoor play area for kids. And decent kids menu. Plus an Ice-cream cart.
We ordered two pizzas, dine in. Although concept was good prices were expensive for what you get. Entrance door is full height so evertime someone walks in, the cold gets let in. The pizza bases obviously pre-made. As the sauce was dry and not properly heated thru before toppings were placed on top before serving . All this Inspite of having a oven , which we could see. Hopefully quality of food will improve, I'm sure it's just teething issues.

Best venue in the west! I’ve been to Campground Kitchen three times and it never disappoints. I had my 40th birthday party here for 70 guests and it was the perfect, family friendly venue! The staff were super helpful and our friends and family couldn’t stop raving about the venue and the food. The grazing boards and pizzas were amazing and our kids loved the ice cream cart. We also enjoyed sitting around the fire pit at the end of our function. Thanks Sonia and the team for making it such a special day… 5 stars!

Cosy, campfire, country-style and nostalgic restaurant and event venue with a modern presentation. I have eaten a lot of pizza in my lifetime, but Campground Kitchen's pizzas were the best I have ever had. Their chefs are Italian and French (arguably the best cuisine), and the atmosphere is rustic country Aussie. Couldn't ask for a better setting.

We visited Campground Kitchen for our Friendsmas. The food, drinks and atmosphere were outstanding - it would be a great event venue. The service was a little lacking, as we were the only table in the outside area (ie. I had to ask on a few occassions for someone to come and take our order, and our drinks/food were not cleared promptly), but we all enjoyed our time and the kids had fun too, with free colouring - thank you!

Had a very large group of 20 adults and 6 kids for our family Christmas dinner last night. The staff were amazing and handled everything extremely well. Unfortunately I did not get the name of the incredible staff member that was mostly taking care of us in the Annex room but she was attentive and friendly and went the extra mile even when the restaurant was getting very busy. Highly recommend this restaurant!!

I’ve dined here three times now and I always have a nice time. The food is delicious, staff are warm and attentive, atmosphere is cozy and the place is lovely for meeting up with friends for dinner and drinks. I always get the arancini for starters, a pasta (highly recommend the Nduja Papardelle and Lasagna), and a pizza to share - can’t go wrong with the vast options - and the tiramisu, yum!!! Last night certainly won’t be our last.

Came here to try their food for potentially catering our wedding next year, and we loved it! My fiance and I tried the Mac and cheese croquettes (photo), the garlic confit pizza (photo) and 3 other pizzas and loved everything! The service was attentive and lovely, and I can't recommend them enough. I am so excited to have them (hopefully) cater our wedding

This is our second visit and did not disappoint once again! Not only is the food great, we are so impressed with the warmth and friendliness of the staff. After Covid the hospitality industry has changed dramatically and service isn't what it used to be. It's a breath of fresh air to know that there are still places that tick all the boxes! Thank you and we will see you soon.

Good food, the arancini was melt in your mouth. Family friendly location. However, the majority of wait staff there didn’t look like they wanted to be there though. No greetings, just very sour looking faces and making us wait around, with no communication after walking by and making eye contact on numerous occasions. Only the floor manager was friendly.
